Abstract

The article discusses a study which investigated chemical constituents from the leaves of the tropical perennial plant Ruellia tuberosa. The plant is native to Central America, widely distributed in Southeast Asia and is well-known in folkloric medicine. Leaves were collected from Orman Botanical Garden in Giza, Egypt and were extracted with 70% methanol.
