The article reports that chemists from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia have developed a rotational spectroscopy technique that allows able to watch as the molecule changes the conformation of its constituent atoms. Chemists studied on the changes in picoseconds wherein the alteration happened 16 times more slowly. They broke the cyclopropane carboxaldehyde with energy as it switched between syn and anti isomers in two stable forms. Moreover, the data were collected with the use of standard methods and apparatus within 52 hours duration.
