This article provides information on the technology center to be established by the National Communication Association at its 1997 annual convention in Chicago, Illinois. The Tech Center will feature a bank of computers with Internet connections. Some will feature special monitors or projection screens so members can work with and display computer based equipment they have developed for their research or class projects. Most of the computers will be available for members to browse the net and to send and receive e-mail. In order to use the e-mail services, users will have to know the address of the computer at which their e-mail is stored. For many attending the convention, this will be the address of the computer at their host institution. Computer users should check their configuration, such as their account name, e-mail password and mail server.
