The article discusses a study by astrophysicist Aaron Boley of the University of Florida and colleagues investigating the differences between planets very far from their star and those close to their star using the Fomalhaut system as an example. The team observed the system with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array in the Chilean desert and found evidence to suggest that a dust ring around the star Fomalhaut may be the result of two small, shepherding planets.
