Information regarding the 2011 International Academic Publishing in Europe (APE) Conference held at Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences in Germany from January 11-12, 2011 is presented. The fourth Asia Oceania Forum for Synchrotron Radiation Research (AOFSRR) was successfully held in Shanghai, China, from November 30 to December 1, 2009, hosted by the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF), Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, and Chinese Academy of Sciences. Prof. Hongjie Xu, the director of SSRF, served as the conference chair. The workshop program featured ten oral sessions composed of invited presentations, a poster session, and a technical exhibition. A total of 137 scientists and engineers as well as 21 students participated, coming from the Asian-Oceania area (representing China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, Thailand, Malaysia, Turkey, and Vietnam. A total of 25 invited talks and 51 posters were presented at the conference. The Shanghai meeting followed workshops held at Tsukuba in 2006, Hsinchu in 2007, and Melbourne in 2008.
