This article evaluates the new cross -border insolvency cooperation arrangement between Hong Kong and Mainland China from three business perspectives. First, whether it brings a legal elfect: second, whether it aids in identifying a company's assets; and third, its impact on court procedures and potential tofacilitate information sharing between two regions. As public figures, cinematic celebrities' behaviors have widespread influence on the whole society, and this also applies to China. Their influence is reflected in public recognition. This research classifies celebrity social responsibility as behavior within the law, professionalism, family ethics, public morality, and charity. We selected 286 cinematic celebrities as study objects and obtained public recognition data through 2,600 questionnaire surveys. The findings of the study indicate that there is a positive, linear relationship between cinematic celebrities' social responsibility and public recognition. In particular, family ethics and public moral responsibility demonstrate a significant positive correlation with public recognition. However, there was no significant correlation found between lawful responsibility and public recognition. This article analyzes traffic dispute resolution in contemporary urban China as embodying what I term processual recognition. I describe how various complex status‐inflected qualities, legal‐bureaucratic institutions and actors, and processes and perceptions of recognition interact in producing resolutions and a sense of (in)justice or (un)fairness. My attention to "recognition" is distinctive in foregrounding disputants' investments in identity and dignity as enacted through embodied and affective practices. Contrary to accounts of contemporary China that emphasize moral breakdown, I argue that traffic disputes between strangers produce a spatially and temporally contingent moral economy that connects the production of justice with individual desire for recognition, socio‐structural configurations, and legal‐bureaucratic imperatives. I further argue that existing accounts focused on substantive and procedural justice fail to accommodate variant cultural and institutional configurations of dispute resolution, and that scholars should also attend to questions of recognition. Throughout a wide realm of discourses in contemporary China, from official propaganda projects to online discussions amongst netizens, rearticulations of Chinese national identity are ubiquitous and conspicuous. Rather than depict these phenomena as simply manifestations of nationalism fomented by authoritarian rhetoric as is often the case in Western media, this paper will offer a more nuanced interpretation through the Hegelian notions of recognition and disrespect insofar as they operate in the construction of identity, in this case, Chinese national identity. The social theory of the struggle for recognition and identity formation as articulated by contemporary recognition theorist Axel Honneth will be used as a framework to explore 1) recognition and disrespect in the construction of identity, 2) the possibility of utilizing such a framework within international relations, and 3) how the contemporary rearticulation(s) of Chinese national identity can be understood through the notions of recognition and disrespect. Under the constitutional principle of 'one country, two systems' after the reunification in July 1997, the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong retained its common law legal system. This system is quite different from the socialist legal system in Mainland China. Given that neither Mainland China nor Hong Kong have adopted the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Model Law on Cross-border Insolvency, this has created a legal void for mutual recognition of insolvency proceedings between the two jurisdictions. This article discusses: • the extent to which the Hong Kong Court will recognise Mainland insolvency proceedings; • the historical development of recognition of Hong Kong insolvency proceedings in Mainland China; and • the latest developments with mutual recognition of insolvency proceedings under the 'Record of Meeting on Mutual Recognition of and Assistance to Bankruptcy (Insolvency) Proceedings between the Courts of the Mainland and of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region', signed on 14 May 2021.
