Ports are essential and strategic nodes of international trade and economic activities. The integration of port resources helps enhance the optimal division of port functions to further promote economic development. This paper explores the evolutionary trends of port integration policy from 2011 to 2021 in China through a text-mining approach. We first used the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic analysis method to analyze the port integration policies and summarize the evolutionary trends of port policies. In addition, an association analysis was conducted to explore port integration policies' impacts by examining their relationships among the environmental protection, digitalization level, and port development scale. Our findings suggested that China's port integration policy has evolved from specific and simple to abstract and complicated at the managerial level. Port development has enriched from infrastructure construction to the ideology of economic development. Our findings show that China's port integration is gradually improving the port operation. The Sanjiang Tethyan Orogen plays a pivotal role in elucidating the geodynamic processes related to the evolution of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean. Research on the Gicha Complex within this orogen is imperative for comprehending the intricate evolution of the region. This study presents new findings from zircon U‒Pb dating, Hf isotope analysis, and whole-rock elemental analyses of gabbro, olivine gabbro, and the recently discovered mylonitic rhyolite and diabase in the Gicha Complex. The zircon U‒Pb dating yields ages of 703 ± 3 Ma for the diabase, 296 ± 2 Ma for the gabbro, and 231 ± 1 and 228 ± 2 Ma for the mylonitic rhyolite, demonstrating that these rocks record the extended evolution from the breakup of Rodinia to the closure of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean. The Neoproterozoic diabase samples exhibit shoshonitic and arc-like geochemical properties, with positive zircon εHf(t) values ranging from 1.1 to 3.7 and high Th/Yb values ranging from 1.34 to 3.07, suggesting that they were generated by partial melting of enriched subduction-modified lithospheric mantle in an active continental margin. The early Permian gabbro samples are part of the tholeiitic series and exhibit low SiO2 and K2O contents; depletions in Nb, Ta and Ti; and enrichment in Pb, indicating derivation from a combination of depleted mantle peridotite and subduction-related components. The whole-rock geochemical features suggest that these rocks formed in a back-arc setting featuring a small, mature ocean basin. The mylonitic rhyolite samples exhibit weakly peraluminous characteristics (A/CNK = 0.98–1.12) with high-K calc-alkaline geochemical features. The samples are depleted in Ba, Nb, Ta, and Ti and enriched in Th, U, Pb, and LREEs and exhibit negative to positive zircon εHf(t) values ranging from − 0.5 to + 5.9, indicating that they originated from partial melting of Meso-Neoproterozoic juvenile lower crust. Geochronological, petrological, and geochemical analyses indicate that the subduction of oceanic crust occurred along the western margin of the Yangtze Block until the late Neoproterozoic (~ 703 Ma). The study of the reservoir architecture in braided river systems has significant implications for the exploitation of remaining oil and gas reserves. However, due to the complexity of the braided river deposition process, the architecture patterns are diverse and intricate. Limited by the quality of seismic data and well network density, the characterization of underground reservoir architecture often entails considerable uncertainty. This paper investigates the architecture elements, stacking patterns, and significance of oil and gas development in the braided river deposition of the Jin 58 well area in the northern part of the Ordos Basin through typical field outcrop and core observations, and by making full use of horizontal well data. The study reveals that the Jin 58 well area is mainly characterized by four types of architecture units: braided channel, channel bar, overbank, and flood plain. Based on the data from horizontal and vertical wells, four identification criteria for single sand bodies are determined, and the vertical stacking and lateral juxtaposition styles of the architecture units, as well as the architecture patterns and internal features of the channel bar, are summarized. It is confirmed that composite sand bodies have better productivity. A three-dimensional architecture model of the braided river is established based on the results of architecture analysis. Textural and compositional zoning within plagioclase phenocrysts records the magma chamber processes, such as magma differentiation, magma recharge and mixing, and crustal contamination. The plagioclase phenocrysts in the Daqiao and Qiaojia plagioclase-phyric basalts from the Emeishan Large Igneous Province (LIP) show complex textural and compositional zoning patterns, e.g., normal, reverse, oscillatory, and patchy zoning patterns. Most plagioclase phenocrysts exhibit a core–rim normal zoning pattern (Pl-A) with euhedral high-An cores (An = 76–78%, in mole fraction) and low-An rims (An = 68–72%), indicative of the crystal regrowth processes caused by recharge of relatively evolved magmas after the formation of high-An cores. Some phenocrysts have a core–rim reverse zoning pattern (Pl-B) with irregular ovaloid cores, characterized by extremely low An (60–61 mol%) and Ba (84–88 ppm) contents and extremely high 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.7120–0.7130). The rims of the Pl-B have relatively high An (69–72 %), Ba (~160 ppm) contents, and low 87Sr/86Sri (~0.7056). These Pl-B plagioclase phenocrysts preserve the information about the interaction between the crustal xenocrysts and the transporting magmas. Some plagioclase phenocrysts show a core–mantle–rim oscillatory zoning pattern (Pl-C) with multiple oscillations of An (70–80 %), Ba (88–147ppm) from core to rim, revealing replenishment and mixing of multiple batches of basaltic melts with diverse compositions. 87Sr/86Sr ratios of the Pl-C do not vary significantly (0.7050–0.7054). A small portion of phenocrysts has patchy patterns in the cores (Pl-D), where the low-An patches (72–75 %) in form of elliptical or irregular elongated shapes were enclosed by the high-An domains (80–87 %). These features can be attributed to crystal dissolution and regrowth processes during the reaction between early-formed low-Cumulates and recharged hot primitive melts. The cores, mantles, and rims of different types of plagioclase phenocrysts (except the core of Pl-B) commonly display nearly constant Sr isotopic compositions, implying insignificant wall-rock assimilation at shallow-level magma reservoir(s) during the growth of these plagioclase phenocrysts. Soil microbial community composition plays a key role in the decomposition of organic matter, while the quality of exogenous organic matter (EOM: rice straw, roots and pig manure) can influence soil chemical and biological properties. However, the evidences of the effect of combination of crop residues and pig manure on the changes in soil microbial community and enzymes activities are scarce. A greenhouse pot experiment was conducted to investigate the potential effect of EOM by analyzing soil properties, enzyme activities and microbial communities. The experiment consisted of eight treatments: CK (control), S (1% (w/w) rice straw), R (1% (w/w) rice root), SR (1% (w/w) rice straw + 1% (w/w) rice root), and added 1% (w/w) pig manure to CK, S, R and SR, respectively. Results showed that the straw treatment significantly increased the microbial biomass (carbon and nitrogen) and total carbon and nitrogen contents, cellulase and β-1,4-glucosidase activities, bacteria (i.e., gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria) PLFAs contents relative to CK regardless of whether pig manure was added. Moreover, the interaction between crop residues (e.g., straw and roots) and pig manure significantly influenced the contents of microbial biomass nitrogen and microbial biomass phosphorus, and the ratio of gram-positive bacteria to gram-negative bacteria. Redundance analysis confirmed that pH, nitrate nitrogen, ammonium nitrogen and dissolve organic carbon contents were significantly associated with soil microbial community under crop residues without pig manure addition. Furthermore, the experiment results showed that pig manure application not only provided more abundant nutrients (C, N and P) but also induced higher microbial and enzymatic activity compared with no pig manure addition. The construction of large-scale hydropower stations could solve the problem of China's power and energy shortages. However, the construction of hydropower stations requires reservoir water storage. Artificially raising the water level by several tens of meters or even hundreds of meters will undoubtedly change the hydrogeological conditions of an area, which will lead to surface deformation near the reservoir. In this paper, we first used SBAS-InSAR technology to monitor the surface deformation near the Xiluodu reservoir area for various data and analyzed the surface deformation of the Xiluodu reservoir area from 2014 to 2019. By using the 12 ALOS2 ascending data, the 100 Sentinel-1 ascending data, and the 97 Sentinel-1 descending data, the horizontal and vertical deformations of the Xiluodu reservoir area were obtained. We found that the Xiluodu reservoir area is mainly deformed along the vertical shore, with a maximum deformation rate of 250 mm/a, accompanied by vertical deformation, and the maximum deformation rate is 60 mm/a. Furthermore, by analyzing the relationship between the horizontal deformation sequence, the vertical deformation sequence, and the impoundment, we found the following: (1) Since the commencement of Xiluodu water storage, the vertical shore direction displacement has continued to increase, indicating that the deformation caused by the water storage is not due to the elastic displacement caused by the load, but by irreversible shaping displacement. According to its development trend, we speculate that the vertical shore direction displacement will continue to increase until it eventually stabilizes; (2) Vertical displacement increases rapidly in the initial stage of water storage; after two water-storage cycles, absolute settlement begins to slow down in the vertical direction, but its deformation still changes with the change in the storage period. We erected a new genus (Grylloprimevala Zhou & Ren gen. nov.) and defined a new species (Grylloprimevala jilina Zhou & Ren sp. nov.) from a natural cave in the primeval forest of Jilin Province, China, according to the morphological, behavioral, and molecular evidence. Grylloprimevala gen. nov. is distinguishable from other genera of Grylloblattodea primarily by morphological characters, including the slightly concave posterior margin of the pronotum and no poorly sclerotized zones, six intramarginal and nine intermarginal setae on the cervical sclerite, one tooth on the lacinia, no pulvilli on tarsal segments, and a symmetrical epiproct with a pointed triangular and middle‐depressed median projection on the posterior margin. Based on the morphological features mentioned above, we further identified a new species, G. jilina sp. nov. At the aspect of behavior, G. jilina sp. nov. displays the typical characteristics of troglobites, including degraded visual senses, developed body surface sensors, and predation between individuals. Furthermore, molecular phylogenetic analyses also supported the morphological delimitation of G. jilina sp. nov. due to the separate clade of G. jilina sp. nov. Mantle heterogeneity is caused by recycling of crustal materials into the mantle, and mafic arc magmatism provides important imformation on the nature of crust–mantle interaction. Here we undertake an integrated study of whole rock major-trace elements and Sr–Nd–Hf isotopes, in-situ zircon U–Pb ages and Hf–O isotopes as well as mineral major-trace elements and clinopyroxene Sr isotopes for mafic intrusives in the Qilian orogen. The studied Jinyuan and Jishishan mafic igneous rocks show consistent zircon U–Pb ages of ca. 448–450 Ma. They all display arc-like trace element distribution patterns, relatively depleted Sr–Nd isotope compositions, and variably high zircon O isotopes. In comparison, the Jinyuan mafic igneous rocks have less depleted Sr–Nd–Hf and higher O isotope compositions than the Jishishan mafic rocks. These geochemicial features indicate they originated from a heterogeneous orogenic lithospheric mantle source, which resulted from the incorporation of variable crustal materials into the mantle. Model calculations confirm that the heterogeneous mantle source would be generated by reaction of the mantle wedge peridotite with different proportions of the subducting Proto–Tethyan oceanic crust-derived aqueous solutions and sediment-derived hydrous melts. Partial melting of the heterogeneous mantle source would generate different batches of mafic melts, which led to magma mixing and recharge processes prior to emplacement as evidenced by mineral compositional zonings. Therefore, in addition to heterogeneous crust–mantle interaction during oceanic subduction, magmatic processes such as magma recharge and mixing may also contribute to the petrogenesis of arc igneous rocks above the oceanic subduction zone. Spartina alterniflora invasion is considered a critical event affecting sediment phosphorus (P) availability and stock. However, P retention and microbial phosphate solubilization in the sediments invaded with or without S. alterniflora have not been fully investigated. In this study, a sequential fractionation method and high-throughput sequencing were used to analyze P transformation and the underlying microbial mechanisms in the sediments of no plant (NP) zone, transition (T) zone, and plant (P) zone. Results showed that except for organic phosphate (OP), total phosphate (TP), inorganic phosphate (IP), and available phosphate (AP) all followed a significant decrease trend from the NP site to the T site, and to the P site. The vertical decrease of TP, IP, and AP was also observed with an increase in soil depth. Among the six IP fractions, Fe–P, Oc–P, and Ca 10 –P were the predominant forms, while the presence of S. alterniflora resulted in an obvious P depletion except for Ca 8 –P and Al–P. Although S. alterniflora invasion did not significantly alter the alpha diversity of phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) harboring phoD gene, several PSB belonging to p_Proteobacteria , p_Planctomycetes , and p_Cyanobacteriota showed close correlations with P speciation and IP fractions. Further correlation analysis revealed that the reduced soil pH, soil TN and soil EC, and the increased soil TOC mediated by the invasion of S. alterniflora also significantly correlated to these PSB. Overall, this study elucidates the linkage between PSB and P speciation and provides new insights into understanding P retention and microbial P transformation in the coastal sediment invaded by S. alterniflora. The widespread adoption of distributed photovoltaic (PV) systems is crucial for achieving a decarbonized future, and distributed energy storages play a vital role in promoting PV energy consumption and easing the grid burden. This study uses actual building electricity consumption data to examine the temporal and dimensional matching performance and economic feasibility of photovoltaic-battery (PVB) systems. When prioritizing nearly self-consumption, there is a knee point in the growth trend where the energy storage demand increases with the ratio of annual PV generation to annual electricity demand (R pv). Before this point, energy storage primarily serves intraday energy transfers. However, once R pv surpasses this point, there is a rapid surge in energy storage demand due to the requirement for cross-season energy transfer. When nearly self-sufficiency is desired, the energy storage demand experiences a rapid decrease to converge to a non-zero value as R pv increases. Comparative analyses reveal that public buildings with concentrated daytime electricity consumption and shopping malls in different climate zones with similar intraday usage patterns show comparable matching performance when equipped with short-term energy storage. However, as high self-consumption or self-sufficiency rates are pursued, variances in their seasonal consumption characteristics lead to significant differences in energy storage demand. From an economic perspective, integrating batteries into a shopping mall in Beijing increases the equivalent electricity price under the prevailing feed-in tariff. In addition, when surplus PV generation export is prohibited or unremunerated, the battery does not enhance the economic feasibility until R pv exceeds 51%, and partial curtailment of PV generation is economical when R pv exceeds 26%. Furthermore, to achieve a high self-sufficiency level, slightly expanding R pv beyond the required self-sufficiency rate can efficiently reduce energy storage demand and improve economic feasibility at the expense of partial curtailment of PV generation. Energy systems for flexibility in buildings are hybrid, primarily including rooftop photovoltaics (PV), cooling storage, and battery. Considering their techno-economic patterns, this research establishes an optimization model to determine the optimal technology portfolio and financial advantages of PV-battery-cooling storage systems for commercial buildings in China. The analysis of all cases indicates that cooling storage outperforms batteries in economic benefits, suggesting the prioritization of cooling storage installation. Once the optimal cooling storage rate is exceeded, it is advisable to proceed with batteries. Meanwhile, PV integration significantly enhances the system efficiency and promotes battery utilization. For example, a 40% PV penetration combined with a 0.006 $/(a·kWh e) energy storage investment results in an impressive 27.3% cost reduction in a Beijing mall, while the optimal cooling storage rate decreases from 55% to 40%. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the impact of tariff patterns and electricity demand on the economic feasibility of hybrid energy systems. The museum's substantial annual cooling requirements and nighttime loads make cooling storage favorable, with PV less suitable than the mall and office. Notably, cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, and Guangzhou exhibit considerable peak-to-valley tariff differences, yielding higher economic benefits ranging from 23% to 27%. Finally, as battery costs decline and electricity price becomes more volatile, the battery would gradually replace cooling storage, especially when battery cost drops from 150 $/kWh to 70 $/kWh. Background: Salinization of soil is an urgent problem that restricts agroforestry production and environmental protection. Substantial accumulation of metal ions or highly alkaline soil alters plant metabolites and may even cause plant death. To explore the differences in the response strategies between Suaeda salsa (S. salsa) and Puccinellia tenuiflora (P. tenuiflora), two main constructive species that survive in saline-alkali soil, their metabolic differences were characterized. Result: Metabolomics was conducted to study the role of metabolic differences between S. salsa and P. tenuiflora under saline-alkali stress. A total of 68 significantly different metabolites were identified by GC-MS, including 9 sugars, 13 amino acids, 8 alcohols, and 34 acids. A more detailed analysis indicated that P. tenuiflora utilizes sugars more effectively and may be saline-alkali tolerant via sugar consumption, while S. salsa utilizes mainly amino acids, alcohols, and acids to resist saline-alkali stress. Measurement of phenolic compounds showed that more C6C3C6-compounds accumulated in P. tenuiflora, while more C6C1-compounds, phenolic compounds that can be used as signalling molecules to defend against stress, accumulated in S. salsa. Conclusions: Our observations suggest that S. salsa resists the toxicity of saline-alkali stress using aboveground organs and that P. tenuiflora eliminates this toxicity via roots. The association between acoustic signals and genetics is not fully understood as of yet. It is unclear whether the acoustic characters of insect calling songs are correlated with insect genetic divergence. Here, we analyzed the genetic distance using 16S rDNA and cytochrome b sequences and calculated acoustic distance by the intensity distribution histograms statistic on the spectrograms of calling songs. After the alignment, 510 bp of cytochrome b and 542 bp of 16S rDNA sequences were used to calculate the genetic pairwise distance. The Neighbor-Joining phylogenetic analysis of both sequences was generally concordant with taxonomy. For acoustic signals, the L1 norm distance was in the range of [0.133, 0.434], showing a good reflection of the "vocal print" of the species. Finally, based on the two genetic distance matrice and one acoustic matrix, a multiple regression analysis was performed. The cubic regression diagram formed an upward sloping surface, suggesting that the genetic distance was positively correlated with the acoustic distance. Objective: To investigate effects of Shengmai injection (SMI) postconditioning on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI) in isolated rat hearts. Materials and methods: A total of thirty isolated hearts were randomly divided into three groups: Sham group, I/R group and SMI group. Sham group was continuously perfused with K-H solution for 120 minutes. I/R group and SMI group were given balanced perfusion for 30 min followed by reperfusion for 60 min, with an interval of 30 min, and those in the SMI group were given postconditioning with 1% SMI during the first 10 min of reperfusion. The left ventricular function, markers of myocardial injury, endothelial cell injury and oxidative stress injury were measured at 30 minutes after equilibration (t0), 30 minutes after ischemia (t2) and 60 minutes after reperfusion (t3). Results: The results showed that there was no significant difference for all observation indexes at t0. Compared with the Sham group, real portfolio project and coronary arterial flow rate and the activity of superoxide dismutase were significantly decreased in the I/R group, whereas those in the SMI group were significantly higher. Left ventricular end-diastolic pressure, the concentrate of malondialdehyde, lactate dehydrogenase, cTn-I, hyaluronic acid, heparin sulphate, syndecan-1 in the I/R group were markedly higher than those in the Sham group, whereas those in the SMI group were significantly lower. Conclusion: In summary, the present study indicated that 1% SMI postconditioning can alleviate the detachment of endothelial cell glycoprotein envelope induced by myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, and its mechanism is probably related to the inhibition of the oxidative stress injury. Hypertension (HTN) and osteoarthritis (OA) are frequent in middle-aged and elderly people, and the co-occurrence of these two diseases is common. However, the pathogenesis of the multimorbidity of both diseases and the relation with sleep quality, hyperlipemia, and hyperglycemia is unclear. We conducted a cross-sectional study to make sense of the multimorbidity of HTN and OA and the relation with sleep quality, hyperlipemia, and hyperglycemia. The relation between sleep quality and OA and its joint effect with hyperlipemia or hyperglycemia was evaluated with logistic regression models. The additive interaction was assessed with the relative excess risk due to interaction (REEI), the attributable proportion (AP), and the synergy index (S). According to this research in a remote rural area, approximately 34.2% of HTN patients are accompanied with OA and 49.1% are suffering poor sleep. Both hyperlipemia/hyperglycemia and sleep quality were related to OA prevalence with crude ORs of 1.43 (95% CI 1.014–2.029) and 1.89 (95% CI 1.411–2.519, P < 0.001) respectively. An observed additive effect was found greater than the sum of the effects of sleep quality and hyperlipemia/hyperglycemia posed on OA prevalence alone. This additive interaction was observed in females (OR = 3.19, 95% CI 1.945–5.237) as well as males ≥ 65 years old (OR = 2.78, 95% CI 1.693–4.557), with RERI, AP, and S significant. Therefore, poor sleep and hyperlipemia/hyperglycemia are associated with OA, and further studies on the additive interaction among females and males ≥ 65 are warranted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The far limit of a plate subduction process and its related far‐field dynamic process are fundamental topics for plate tectonics. The Great Khingan Range (GKAR) in the western flank of NE China is currently under the far‐field influence of the Pacific plate subduction. Benefiting from the newly deployed seismic arrays in the northern GKAR, we take full advantage of seismic data from both temporary and permanent networks and employ an improved scheme of the H‐κ stacking method by introducing surface wave dispersion to obtain the integrated maps of Moho depth and crustal bulk Vp/Vs ratio in this region. Our results show that the Moho depth has a giant step near the North–South Gravity Lineament (NSGL). Meanwhile, the distribution of bulk Vp/Vs ratio presents a north–south difference roughly by 50°N, where the south subregion consists of a collage of high and low Vp/Vs ratio; by contrast, the north subregion is characterized by unified high values. The east‐west structural discrepancies across the NSGL from the Earth's surface to the mantle transition zone indicate the difference in the strength of modifications between the near and far‐fields from the Pacific plate subduction. The complicated distribution of the Vp/Vs ratio in the south subregion supports that secondary small‐scale upwellings underneath the Cenozoic volcanic groups dominate the tectonic reworking in this area. The lack of Cenozoic volcanism and a more straightforward distribution of the Vp/Vs ratio in the north subregion might allude to a tectonically inactive part of NE China. In contrast, the unified high Vp/Vs ratio and no sign of Cenozoic magmatism in the south subregion may indicate a tectonically inactive region in NE China. Shigellosis is a heavy disease burden in China especially in children aged under 5 years. However, the age-related factors involved in transmission of shigellosis are unclear. An age-specific Susceptible–Exposed–Infectious/Asymptomatic–Recovered (SEIAR) model was applied to shigellosis surveillance data maintained by Hubei Province Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from 2005 to 2017. The individuals were divided into four age groups (≤ 5 years, 6–24 years, 25–59 years, and ≥ 60 years). The effective reproduction number (Reff), including infectivity (RI) and susceptibility (RS) was calculated to assess the transmissibility of different age groups. From 2005 to 2017, 130,768 shigellosis cases were reported in Hubei Province. The SEIAR model fitted well with the reported data (P < 0.001). The highest transmissibility (Reff) was from ≤ 5 years to the 25–59 years (mean: 0.76, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.34–1.17), followed by from the 6–24 years to the 25–59 years (mean: 0.69, 95% CI: 0.35–1.02), from the ≥ 60 years to the 25–59 years (mean: 0.58, 95% CI: 0.29–0.86), and from the 25–59 years to 25–59 years (mean: 0.50, 95% CI: 0.21–0.78). The highest infectivity was in ≤ 5 years (RI = 1.71), and was most commonly transmitted to the 25–59 years (45.11%). The highest susceptibility was in the 25–59 years (RS = 2.51), and their most common source was the ≤ 5 years (30.15%). Furthermore, "knock out" simulation predicted the greatest reduction in the number of cases occurred by when cutting off transmission routes among ≤ 5 years and from 25–59 years to ≤ 5 years. Transmission in ≤ 5 years occurred mainly within the group, but infections were most commonly introduced by individuals in the 25–59 years. Infectivity was highest in the ≤ 5 years and susceptibility was highest in the 25–59 years. Interventions to stop transmission should be directed at these age groups. Objective: To evaluate health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of middle-aged and elderly people with hypertension in Enshi, China, and to explore the important correlates defining HRQoL. Methods: From April through July 2018, a self-monitoring intervention program for hypertension control was implemented in a remote area of central China. Participants completed a cross-sectional survey which included demographic characteristics, the Health-related Quality of Life Survey, and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Survey. Univariate analysis was performed by analysis of variance, and multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of HRQoL in middle-aged and elderly hypertensive patients. In the multivariate analysis, the variables with P≤0.05 in the single factor analysis were combined with the professional significance to establish a multiple linear regression model. Results: Information from 500 participants was available for analysis. Among them, the scores of PCS and MCS was 31.66 ± 9.50 and 41.38 ± 10.69, respectively. Multivariable regression analyses showed that higher education and sleep quality, and moderate physical activity (30 minutes for at least five days a week) had a positive influence on PCS scores. Higher monthly family income (3,000–5,000 ¥) and sleep quality, regular tea-drinking, having 30 minutes of moderate physical activity at least five days a week were positively associated with MCS scores. Conclusion: The overall HRQoL for rural middle-aged and elderly hypertensive patients in Xuan'en county of Hubei province was poor. Effective relevant measures for the above factors were urgently needed to improve the quality of life for the elderly in rural areas. Soil organic matter decomposition is an essential process of the ecosystem biogeochemical cycle. However, the comprehension of soil organic matter decomposition mechanisms at a large-scale level remains relatively inadequate, especially due to the high variability in organic matter quality, which poses challenges for standardized analysis of decomposition. Therefore, in this study, standardized cotton strips (to represent cellulose) and wooden sticks (to represent lignin) were used to conduct field research on the decomposition potential of soil organic matter, comparing the mass loss of these standardized materials across 23 sites situated in different climate types in China. After 6 months of incubation, the decomposition rate of both substrates displayed an increasing trend from north to south and a decreasing trend from east to west, driven by variations in temperature and precipitation at a large scale. However, the decomposition pattern of wooden sticks along the latitude exhibited a reversal during summer, with a positive correlation between mass loss per unit temperature and latitude, possibly attributable to reduced constraints on decomposer activity at high latitudes in summer. These results suggest that the decomposition ability of decomposers is more powerful at high latitudes compared with the decomposers at low latitudes. Random forest analysis showed that decomposers, soil conditions and climate had significant effects on the decomposition of standardized organic matter at the large-scale. Notably, as decomposition progressed, the relative influence of the decomposers on the cotton strips mass loss significantly increased, while for wooden sticks, the relative influence of climate significantly increased. In summary, this study provides crucial evidence for the spatial characteristics and temporal dynamics of soil organic matter decomposition in large-scale patterns. In view of the cold winter in northern China and the large temperature difference between day and night, the asphalt pavement has been in low temperature service for a long time, in addition to experiencing the aging effect of water and salt erosion, jointly leading to a particularly serious pavement cracking phenomenon. Therefore, a quantity of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) is produced for the repair and renovation of old roads. Faced with the problems of inadequate reuse rate of RAP and high energy consumption of thermal regeneration, it is of great practical significance to explore the technology of warm mix regeneration. In order to study the adaptability of recycled SBS modified asphalt mixtures to low temperature after complex environmental erosion (long-term aging, water freeze-thaw cycle, and salt freeze-thaw cycle), two mixing methods, including hot mixing and warm mixing, were selected, and a Semi-Circular Bending Test was performed. SCB and Digital Image Correlation (DIC) techniques were used to evaluate the low temperature properties of recycled asphalt mixtures by fracture toughness, fracture energy and horizontal strain density damage. Combined with an Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) test, the microscopic analysis of recycled asphalt was carried out to verify the mechanism of low temperature cracking. The results showed that the low temperature cracking resistance of the reclaimed asphalt mixtures with warm mix was slightly worse than that with hot mix. The overall low temperature cracking resistance of the reclaimed SBS modified asphalt mixtures decreased with the increase in RAP content. The low temperature performance of the warm-mixed reclaimed asphalt mixtures deteriorated greatly when the RAP content was 80 %. The influencing factors of environmental conditions on the low temperature cracking resistance of the warm-mixed recycled SBS modified asphalt mixtures were listed as below: long-term aging > salt freeze-thaw cycle > water freeze-thaw cycle. The influence of salt on the stress field of crack tip and the microstructure of recycled asphalt after freeze-thaw was greater than that of water erosion. The changes of the microscopic adhesion were in good agreement with the macroscopic test results, which could be employed as the index evaluating the low temperature crack resistance of the warm-mixed SBS modified asphalt mixtures. Background: The traditional general practitioner-based model (community-based rehabilitation [CBR]) for Chinese schizophrenia patients lacks sufficient content, usefulness, and theoretical basis for rehabilitation. Based on previous research, we postulate that Metacognitive Training (MCT) is effective in the community for schizophrenic patients. Method: A randomized controlled, assessor-blinded trial was conducted. A total of 124 schizophrenia patients were recruited from Ningbo China and were randomly assigned to an intervention or a control group. A general practitioner (GP) training plan was carried out before intervention. Intervention and control groups received two CBR follow-ups once a month, while the intervention group, received an additional eight once-a-in-week session of MCT. The Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS), and the Psychotic Symptom Rating Scales (PSYRATS) were the primary outcome instruments, while the Quality of Life Scale (SQLS) was the secondary outcome instrument. Results: In the post-treatment between-groups assessment, the patients in the intervention group showed significantly more reductions on PSYRATS delusions, PSYRATS total, PANSS P6, PANSS core delusions, PANSS positive, PANSS negative, PANSS general and PANSS total, and a significant improvement in SQLS psychosocial aspect. Conclusions: The study provides preliminary evidence for the usefulness of MCT as a complementary measure for community-based rehabilitation of schizophrenia patients. Largehead hairtail (Trichiurus japonicus) in the China Seas shows an increasing catch trend, despite continued overexploitation, which could be attributed to improved recruitment as a result of strengthened early growth. To understand the early growth variability of largehead hairtail, we examined the linkages between early growth, as revealed by otolith microstructure, and the associated environmental variables over both spatial and temporal scales. Young‐of‐the‐Year largehead hairtail were collected from three regions in the Bohai, Yellow and East China Seas between 29° and 39° N. Daily increment widths of sagittal otoliths were measured and used as a proxy for somatic growth. We found two spawning cohorts, Spring‐ and Summer‐spawned cohorts, that showed latitudinal differences in both mean growth and growth pattern. The transition time from larval to juvenile stage was identified at around 40 days. Daily increment widths of two cohorts showed similar growth pattern in the first 40 days, while location had a marked effect on daily growth over 41–110 days. This suggests physiologically constrained growth pattern in larval stage, but more plastic growth subject to habitat‐specific influences in juvenile stage. The gradient forest analysis identified sea bottom temperature, vertical temperature gradient, and sea surface salinity, as the most important variables in determining early growth. Latitudinal differences in early growth pattern and their response to environmental variables suggest adaptive plasticity of early growth, which has notable implication for the management and sustainable utilization of this important but heavily exploited resource in the China Seas. Stimulated reservoir volume (SRV) which is generated by horizontal drilling with multistage hydraulic fracturing governs the production in the shale gas reservoirs. Although microseismic data has been used to estimate the SRV, it is high-priced and sometimes overestimated. Additionally, the effect of stress sensitivity on SRV is not considered in abnormal overpressure areas. Thus, the objective of this work is to characterize subsurface fracture networks with stress sensitivity of permeability through the shale gas well production data of the early flowback stage. The flowback regions are first identified with the flowback data of two shale gas wells in South China. Then, we measured the permeability stress sensitivity of the core after fracturing, coupled to the dynamic relative permeability (DRP) calculation to obtain an accurate and simple DRP curve. After that, a comprehensive model is built considering dynamic two-phase relative permeability function and stress sensitivity. Finally, we compared the calculated results with the microseismic data. The results show that the proposed model could reasonably predict the SRV using the flowback data after fracturing. Additionally, compared with the microseismic data, the stress sensitivity should be included, especially in the abnormal overpressure block. It is believed that this mathematical model is accurate and useful. The work provides an efficient approach to estimate stimulated reservoir volume in the shale gas reservoirs. Southwest China is a tectonically and seismically active region, witnessing strong deformation due to the collision between the Indian and Eurasian plates. Constraining the subsurface velocity structure of this region is thus important in understanding the tectonics and geodynamic processes of continental collision and in mitigating seismic hazards. Numerous studies have provided various 3D seismic velocity models in southwest China. However, discrepancies exist among these models, and less effort has been made to quantify the reliability and accuracy of these existing velocity models. In this study, we use regional 3D waveform simulation to evaluate the performance of various regional crustal 3D velocity models in reproducing observed seismograms. We particularly focus on two recent earthquake sequence in the region, the 2021 Yunnan Yangbi MS6.4 earthquake sequence and the 2022 Sichuan Luding MS6.8 earthquake sequence. The tested 3D velocity models include the Southwest China Community Velocity model V1.0, the Unified Seismic Tomography Models for Continental China Lithosphere V2.0, the adjoint full waveform tomography model of the crustal and upper mantle beneath Eastern Tibetan Plateau, and the shallow seismic structure model beneath continental China. Our results show that the tested 3D velocity models generally capture well long-period (<0.2 Hz) waveforms, indicating that the 3D models adequately resolve overall large-scale subsurface structures. However, the 3D synthetics show discrepancies in higher frequencies (0.05–0.3 Hz) and the performance of the 3D velocity models varies from region to region, suggesting that smaller scale heterogeneities are not well constrained. Including shallow velocity structures (<10 km) can improve the waveform fitting, emphasizing the importance of incorporating shallow structures in waveform modeling. The full-waveform tomography model shows a slighter better performance than the other models, especially for the body-waves, highlighting the advantages of full-waveform method in achieving sub-wavelength resolution despite the usage of very long-period waveforms. In light of these comparison results of model performance, we identify the advantages and limitations of different seismic tomography models and methods, and we propose to incorporate different tomography methods and datasets to better constrain subsurface structures. While our target region in this study is southwest China, the analysis that we have conducted can be applied to other regions of various scales and tectonic settings for quantitative seismic model evaluation. Gardenia (Gardenia jasminoides J. Ellis) is regarded as an edible medicine plant in China. Here, gardenia flower polysaccharide fraction (GFPF) was extracted by water at 90°C and its chemical composition, rheological properties, and antioxidant activities of GFPF were investigated. The GFPF extraction yield was 18.04 ± 1.81% (W/W) and mainly comprised neutral sugars (46.83 ± 3.14%), uronic acid (35.21 ± 0.17%), protein (1.63 ± 0.34%), and total phenol (9.49 ± 0.08 mgGAE/g). Galacturonic acid (41.05 ± 0.59%) was the main monosaccharide, and galactose, glucose, arabinose, rhamnose, xylose, mannose, and glucuronic acid were also detected in GFPF. Its degree of esterification was 32.76 ± 1.52%. FT‐IR spectra analysis showed a similar absorption pattern between GFPF and pectin from apple. The results suggested that GFPF was low methoxy pectin. Thermogravimetric analysis and zeta potential analysis indicated that the pectin was stable under high temperature and alkaline condition. Steady rheology showed that the GFPF dispersion was a shear thinned pseudoplastic fluid with high apparent viscosities at concentration above 2%. The degree of pseudoplasticity of the solutions increased with the concentrations increased and the temperatures decreased. DPPH and ABTS free radical scavenging assay indicated that GFPF had relatively high antioxidant activity. The results showed that gardenia flower was rich in pectin polysaccharides with low methoxy pectin. It had high apparent viscosities at concentration above 2% and had good antioxidant activity. Background: PM2.5 pollution has become a major public health concern in urban China. Understanding the residents' individual perceptions toward haze pollution is critical for policymaking and risk communication. However, the perceptions of middle-aged and elderly residents, who particularly vulnerable to haze pollution, are poorly understood. In this study, we aimed to explore their risk perceptions of haze pollution and investigate its relationship with health status and pulmonary function parameters.Methods: A cross-sectional study of 400 randomly sampled individuals (aged 40 to 90 years) was conducted in Wuxi, a typical PM2.5-polluted city in Jiangsu Province, China (during 2015-2017, daily average concentration of PM2.5 was 52.7 μg/m3). Each participant's demographic and health information, individual perception and pulmonary function outcomes were collected to explore the relationships between perception factors and personal characteristics and pulmonary function parameters, using linear models.Results: We found that the mean values for controllability (5 ± 2.8) and dread of risk to oneself (levels of fear for haze-related harm to oneself) (6.9 ± 2.5) were the lowest and the highest values, respectively, in our study. Education and average family income were positively related with all individual perception factors, while age was negatively associated. A history of respiratory disease was positively associated with all individual perception factors except controllability. Significant positive associations were observed between PEF (coefficients ranged from 0.18 to 0.22) and FEF75% (coefficients ranged from 0.18 to 0.29) with a variety of individual perception factors.Conclusions: There were a lack of concern and knowledge, weak self-protection consciousness and a strong dread of PM2.5 pollution among the middle-aged and elderly residents in Wuxi. Their individual perceptions were associated with age, education levels, average family income, history of respiratory disease, PEF and FEF75%. Background: Developing countries exhibit a high disease burden from shigellosis. Owing to the different incidences in males and females, this study aims to analyze the features involved in the transmission of shigellosis among male (subscript m) and female (subscript f) individuals using a newly developed sex-based model. Methods: The data of reported shigellosis cases were collected from the China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention in Hubei Province from 2005 to 2017. A sex-based Susceptible–Exposed–Infectious/Asymptomatic–Recovered (SEIAR) model was applied to explore the dataset, and a sex-age-based SEIAR model was applied in 2010 to explore the sex- and age-specific transmissions. Results: From 2005 to 2017, 130 770 shigellosis cases (including 73 981 male and 56 789 female cases) were reported in Hubei Province. The SEIAR model exhibited a significant fitting effect with the shigellosis data (P < 0.001). The median values of the shigellosis transmission were 2.3225 × 108 for SARmm (secondary attack rate from male to male), 2.5729 × 108 for SARmf, 2.7630 × 10-8 for SARfm, and 2.1061 × 10-8 for SARff. The top five mean values of the transmission relative rate in 2010 (where the subscript 1 was defined as male and age ≤ 5 years, 2 was male and age 6 to 59 years, 3 was male and age ≥ 60 years, 4 was female and age ≤ 5 years, 5 was female and age 6 to 59 years, and 6 was male and age ≥ 60 years) were 5.76 × 10-8 for β61, 5.32 × 10-8 for β31, 4.01 × 10-8 for β34, 7.52 × 10-9 for β62, and 6.04 × 10-9 for β64. Conclusions: The transmissibility of shigellosis differed among male and female individuals. The transmissibility between the genders was higher than that within the genders, particularly female-to-male transmission. The most important route in children (age ≤ 5 years) was transmission from the elderly (age ≥ 60 years). Therefore, the greatest interventions should be applied in females and the elderly. Background: Shigellosis is one of the main diarrhea diseases in developing countries. However, the transmissibility of shigellosis remains unclear.Methods: We used the dataset of shigellosis cases reported between January 2005 and December 2017, from Hubei Province, China. A mathematical model was developed based on the natural history and the transmission mechanism of the disease. By fitting the data using the model, transmission relative rate from person to person (b) and from reservoir to person (bw), and the effective reproduction number (Reff) were estimated. To simulate the contribution of b and bw during the transmission, we performed a "knock-out" simulation in four scenarios: A) b = 0 and bw = 0; B) b = 0; C) bw = 0; D) control (no intervention).Results: A total of 130,770 shigellosis cases were reported in Hubei province, among which 13 cases were dead. The median annual incidence was 19.96 per 100,000 persons (range: 5.99 per 100,000 persons - 29.47 per 100,000 persons) with a decreased trend (trend χ2 = 25,470.27, P < 0.001). The mean values of b and bw were 0.0898 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.0851-0.0946) and 1.1264 × 10- 9 (95% CI: 4.1123 × 10- 10-1.8416 × 10- 9), respectively. The "knock-out" simulation showed that the number of cases simulated by scenario A was almost the same as scenario B, and scenario C was almost the same as scenario D. The mean value of Reff of shigellosis was 1.19 (95% CI: 1.13-1.25) and decreased slightly with a Linear model until it decreased to an epidemic threshold of 0.99 (95% CI: 0.65-1.34) in 2029.Conclusions: The incidence of shigellosis is still in high level. Mythimna separata (Walker) moths captured in light traps were monitored in Luohe, central‐northern China, from 1980 to 2016. Annual average temperature recorded an increase of 0.298°C/10 years in this region in the period. Our results indicate that a rising April and May average temperature and earlier occurrences of days recording the highest day temperature (30°C) caused an advanced peak and increasing proportion of high ovarian development levels of first‐generation females in earlier summers. Results using Johnson's formulation of "oogenesis‐flight syndrome" indicate that increasing sexual maturity proportion has resulted in more emigrant individuals in the local first‐generation moth becoming residents, and then increased individuals rapidly in the local second‐generation moth since 2006. Consequences of this action have a boom in corn damage since 2007 in this region. Advanced peak dates of the first and second‐generation moth revealed the same response to increasing average monthly temperatures in the monitoring period. Increasing temperatures, the average May temperature exceeds or equal to 22°C, during the early 2000's may represent a physiological threshold for M. separata development. Organic pollutants are important harmful components in atmospheric fine particulate matters (PM 2.5), health risks of which varied with temporal and spatial distributions. To clarify the characteristics of atmospheric organic pollution, the concentrations, sources, and human health risks of typical organic compositions in PM 2.5 samples from both industrial and urban areas of Nanjing in eastern China were investigated monthly for a year. Results showed that, the concentrations of PM 2.5 -bound polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and n-alkanes were higher in winter and spring than those in summer and autumn. The organic pollution was slightly higher in industrial than urban area, though the PAHs in autumn and the n-alkanes in warm season (summer and autumn) were higher in urban area. With regards to the pollutant sources, the atmospheric PAHs were dominated by motor vehicle exhaust in the urban area, and combined with coal combustion emission in the industrial area. Airborne n-alkanes were mainly from biological source accompanied by fossil fuel combustion in industrial area. The PM 2.5 -bound PAHs indicated higher risks to adults in industrial area than in urban area with the seasonal patterns: winter > spring > autumn > summer. More attention should be paid to the health risks of exposure to organic pollutants accumulated in PM 2.5 during cold season. Cooling storage and batteries are the most ubiquitous types of thermal and electrical energy storage technologies in buildings; thus, their techno-economic comparisons can assist in deciding appropriate installation and maintaining efficient operation. The ratio of battery capacity to cooling storage capacity for achieving the same electricity flexibility, referred to as the discount ratio, can quantify long- and short-term technical differences between two storage methods. In the long term, namely during the cooling season, the flexible performance of cooling storage decreases as capacity increases, with an average discount ratio of 0.44–0.93 in a typical office building. Meanwhile, cooling storage should be invested before batteries due to the economic advantage, and the optimal cooling storage capacity is 25% of the design-day cooling load. The short-term metric quantifies the daily dispatch capability of cooling storage, which is strongly positively correlated with the share of cooling load. Furthermore, wind power but not photovoltaics can individually enhance the flexibility of cooling storage. In general, renewable energy facilitates the utilization of cooling storage: The optimal capacity with 50% wind and 40% solar penetration rises to 2.8 times the optimal capacity without renewables. Finally, the research estimates the application potential in various Chinese provinces and concludes that most regions are suitable, yet necessitate extra portable energy storage in non-cooling season. Internal depositional architecture and sand body distribution are the main challenges faced in the development of gravity flow channel deposits in China. Despite significant progress in the exploration and development of gravity flow deposits in recent years, our understanding of the internal architecture of composite sand bodies within gravity flow channels is still limited. Gravity flow channels represent a widely developed sedimentary type in the Shahejie Formation of the Banqiao Oilfield, Huanghua Depression. The lack of understanding of the spatial stacking relationship of gravity flow channel sand bodies hinders further development and remaining oil recovery within the oilfield. Through this study, we aimed to dissect the composite channels (5th architectural units) and single channels (4th architectural units) at the study area, using a combination of well logs and seismic data. We explored the identification criteria and spatial distribution characteristics of internal architectural elements within gravity flow channel reservoirs, based on abundant drilling data, well density grids, and 3D seismic data. By identifying and delineating single channels, we were able to summarize six identification criteria for single channels, including relative elevation differences, curve shapes, and the number of interbeds. We obtained the sand body scale and aspect ratio of single channels and established three depositional architectural patterns, i.e., isolated, lateral migration, and vertical accretion, thus revealing the differences in the spatial stacking relationships of sand bodies in different structural locations (blocks). Astragalus membranaceus is a traditional Chinese medicine derived from the roots of Astragalus membranaceus (Fisch.) Bge., which has the same medicinal and edible uses in China. It is also widely used in daily food, and its pharmacological effects mainly include antioxidant effects, vascular softening effects, etc. Currently, it is increasingly widely used in the prevention of hypertension, cerebral ischemia, and stroke in China. Formononetin and its glucopyranoside (ononin) are both important components of Astragalus membranaceuss and may play important roles in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). This study conducted metabolic studies using formononectin and its glucopyranoside (ononin), including a combination of the in vitro metabolism of Formonetin using rat liver S9 and the in vivo metabolism of ononin administered orally to rats. Five metabolites (Sm2, 7, 9, 10, and 12) were obtained from the solution incubated with formononetin and rat hepatic S9 fraction using chromatographic methods. The structures of the five metabolites were elucidated as (Sm2)6,7,4′-trihydroxy-isoflavonoid; (Sm7)7,4′-dihydroxy-isoflavonoid; (Sm9)7,8,4′-trihydroxy-isoflavonoid; (Sm10)7,8,-dihydroxy-4′-methoxy-isoflavonoid; and (Sm12)6,7-dihydroxy-4′-methoxy- isoflavonoid on the basis of UV, NMR, and MS data. Totally, 14 metabolites were identified via HPLC-DAD-ESI-IT-TOF-MSn analysis, from which the formononetin was incubated with rat hepatic S9 fraction, and the main metabolic pathways were hydroxylation, demethylation, and glycosylation. Then, 21 metabolites were identified via HPLC-DAD-ESI-IT-TOF-MSn analysis from the urine samples from SD rats to which ononin was orally administered, and the main metabolic pathways were glucuronidation, hydroxylation, demethylation, and sulfonation. The main difference between the in vitro metabolism of formononetin and the in vivo metabolism of ononin is that ononin undergoes deglycemic transformation into Formonetin in the rat intestine, while Formonetin is absorbed into the bloodstream for metabolism, and the metabolic products also produce combined metabolites during in vivo metabolism. The six metabolites obtained from the aforementioned separation indicate the primary forms of formononetin metabolism, and due to their higher contents of similar isoflavone metabolites, they are considered the main active compounds that are responsible for pharmacological effects. To investigate the metabolites of the active ingredients of formononetin in the rat liver S9 system, network pharmacology was used to evaluate the cardiovascular disease (CVD) activities of the six primary metabolites that were structurally identified. Additionally, the macromolecular docking results of six main components and two core targets (HSP90AA1 and SRC) related to CVD showed that formononetin and its main metabolites, Sm10 and Sm12, may have roles in CVD treatment due to their strong binding activities with the HSP90AA1 receptor, while the Sm7 metabolite may have a role in CVD treatment due to its strong binding activity with the SRC receptor. The Changbaishan volcano is an active and considerably hazardous volcano located on the border of China and North Korea. This paper summarizes a series of geophysical surveys as well as seismological and volcano-observational networks around the Changbaishan volcanic area. We characterize deep structures related to the Changbaishan volcanic area. The prominent low-velocity anomalies and low-resistance bodies associated with the magma system under the Changbaishan volcano were detected in the crust and upper mantle, and high-velocity anomalies were imaged within the mantle transition zone, suggesting that the origin of the Changbaishan volcano is related to the subducted Pacific slab. However, there exist a few major obstacles for comprehensively elucidating the deep structure of the Changbaishan volcano as well as for the preparedness for and response toward future volcanic unrest and activity. It is essential to collect data from both China and Korean Peninsula to image the deep structure beneath the Changbaishan volcanic area. A multi-disciplinary approach comprising seismological investigations, deformation information from GNSS and InSar, and gravity and magnetotelluric surveying is a reliable manner for imaging high-resolution structures and fluid movement for the spatial distribution and variation of the volcanic magma chamber. An effective volcano-monitoring network system is considerably important to improve hazard assessments and characterize the potential future eruption of the Changbaishan volcano. Hydrothermal alteration minerals and structural features are typically associated with Pb–Zn mineralization, which can be identified quickly and economically using a multi-source remote sensing satellite dataset. In this study, Sentinel-2, Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER), and Gaofen-5 (GF-5) satellite remote sensing imagery were employed for brownfield exploration of additional Pb–Zn orebodies in the Huize Pb–Zn deposit. The Sentinel-2 satellite remote sensing imagery was used to interpret the structure and map oxides/hydroxides by implementing the band ratio (BR) and principal components analysis (PCA) method; the ASTER satellite data were applied to map argillic, quartz, and carbonate hydrothermal alteration minerals using the PCA method; the GF-5 satellite data were utilized to map hematite, kaolinite, calcite, and dolomite minerals by the mixture tuned matched filtering (MTMF) method; and the mapped hydrothermal alteration information was verified by field reconnaissance and laboratory analysis. Finally, remote sensing geological exploration characteristics of the Huize Pb–Zn deposit were summarized by comprehensively analyzing the hydrothermal alteration minerals and structural characteristics, and three new brownfield exploration target zones of Pb–Zn mineralization were delineated. Bicycles and electric bike riding have reshaped the transportation system worldwide and have significantly contributed to road traffic injuries. However, the risk factors associated with such injuries remain unclear. Therefore, this systematic review aimed to update and summarize the available evidence regarding risk factors that have been associated with bicycle and electric bike-related injuries in China. We searched for studies related to bicycles and electric bike-related injuries and deaths in China that were published in English from January 2000 to December 2020. In total, 18 studies met the inclusion criteria. Four domains of risk factors associated with such injuries were identified, including sociodemographic factors (e.g., age, sex, education level), riding behaviour (e.g., traffic rule violations, not wearing a helmet), vehicle and road factors (e.g., type of nonmotor vehicle and type of road), and temporal factors (such as commuting-hour riding or rush-hour riding). The pooled analysis showed that the mortality rate of e-bike injuries in China was 9.0% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 5.0%–13.0%). Understanding and identifying injury-related risk factors associated with bicycles and electric bike riding could provide important evidence to guide traffic safety management. More efforts are needed to reduce bicycle- and electric bike-related injuries in China. Radix Paeoniae Alba (Baishao, RPA) has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine formulation to treat hypertension by repression the hyperfunction of liver. However, whether the RPA itself has the antihypertensive effect or not is seldom studied. This study was to evaluate the protective effect of RPA on hypertensive rats. Alcohol in conjunction with a high fat diet- (ACHFD-) induced hypertensive rats and spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) was constantly received either RPA extract (25 or 75 mg/kg) or captopril (15 mg/kg) all along the experiments. As a result, RPA extract (75 mg/kg) could significantly reduce systolic blood pressure of both ACHFD-induced hypertensive rats and SHR after 9-week or 4-week treatment. In ACHFD-induced hypertensive rats, the blood pressure was significantly increased and the lipid profiles in serum including triglyceride, total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and HDL-cholesterol were significantly deteriorated. Also, hepatic damage was manifested by a significant increase in alanine transaminase (ALT) and aspartate transaminase (AST) in serum. The RPA extract significantly reversed these parameters, which revealed that it could alleviate the liver damage of rats. In SHR, our result suggested that the antihypertensive active of RPA extract may be related to its effect on regulating serum nitric oxide (NO) and endothelin (ET) levels. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Soil water and fertilizer are two main factors affecting tomato yield and quality, and their optimization management is crucial for sustainable production. There are many studies about the response of tomato growth and fruit yield formation to irrigation level and potassium (K) fertilizer, but few studies have been conducted on the responses of irrigation level and controlled release potassium chloride (CRK), not to mention the different irrigation levels and CRK to KCl blending ratios. In this study, two consecutive growing seasons (2020–2021) tomato pot experiments were presented with three irrigation levels (W 100 , W 80 , and W 60) and three blending ratios of CRK to KCl (100%, 80%/20%, 60%/40%) under the condition that the amount of potassium fertilizer was reduced by 40% compared with conventional application rate. The results revealed that under W 80 water conditions, 80% CRK mixed with 20% KCl application led to a significant increase in tomato yield by 4.1–11.9% and 4.6–18.9%, K use efficiency by 11.5–34.2% and 6.1–32.3%, fruit vitamin C content by 9.3–25.3% and 5.6–28.3%, fruit soluble sugar content by 10.2–20.0% and 10.2–24.1% in 2020 and 2021, respectively, compared with the other K fertilization treatments. Meanwhile, the water use efficiency and fruit soluble solid content of W 80 K 80 treatment were also maintained at a high level. Molecular analysis shows that the W 80 K 80 treatment had a higher photosynthetic rate, rubisco content, cytokinin content, and osmotic regulation substances content, and lower abscisic acid (ABA), malondialdehyde (MDA), and hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2) contents. Our results indicated that 80% irrigation level and 80% CRK-20% KCl blending ratio were the optimal water and K supply mode for tomato production in this study. Hydrothermal alteration minerals are an effective prospecting indicator. Advanced spaceborne thermal emission and reflection radiometer (ASTER) satellite data are some of the most commonly adopted multispectral data for the mapping of hydrothermal alteration minerals. Compared to multispectral data, hyperspectral data have stronger ground object recognition ability. Chinese Gaofen-5 (GF-5) is the first hyperspectral satellite independently developed by China that has the advantages of both wide-width and high-spectral-resolution technology. However, the mapping ability of GF5 data for hydrothermal alteration minerals requires further study. In this study, ASTER and GF-5 satellite data were implemented to map hydrothermal alteration minerals in the Longtoushan Pb-Zn deposit, SW China. Selective principal component analysis (SPCA) technology was employed to map iron oxide/hydroxides, argillic, quartz, and carbonate minerals at the pixel level using ASTER data, and the mixture tuned matched filtering (MTMF) method was implemented for the extracted hematite, kaolinite, calcite, and dolomite at the sub-pixel level using GF-5 data. When mapping the hydrothermal alteration minerals, the distribution features of the hydrothermal alteration minerals from the Longtoushan Pb-Zn deposit were systematically revealed. A comprehensive field investigation and petrographic study were conducted to verify the extraction accuracy of the hydrothermal alteration minerals. The results showed that the overall accuracies for the ASTER and GF-5 data were 82.6 and 92.9 and that the kappa coefficients were 0.78 and 0.90, respectively. This indicates that the GF-5 data are able to map hydrothermal alteration minerals well and that they can be promoted as a hyperspectral data source for mapping systematic hydrothermal alteration minerals in the future. This study solves the mismatch in a solar-rich county for evolving into a giant electricity producer. The temporal mismatch between renewable generation and electricity consumption exists globally due to renewable-energy intermittency, which can be measured by the insufficient ratio. Through examining the unique county in China whose renewable supply reaches demand, it is found that 45.6% of annual demand cannot be fulfilled by renewable energy instantaneously. When renewable energy generation is 1.5 times the demand and solar proportion is 40%, the insufficiency ratio is reduced to 29.0%. Since adjusting the renewable profile could partially resolve this mismatch, electrical energy storage is further considered. When storage capacity is optimized, the capacity is reduced by 76% if renewable generation is expanded to 1.5 times demand. However, electrical energy storage efficiently stabilizes daily operations but fails to counter the seasonal mismatch effectively. Therefore, the seasonal mismatch should be eliminated by exploiting controllable zero-carbon energy, such as biomass power. Eventually, the required storage capacity would be cut by 98%, while the storage and additional energy cost would be reduced by 87%. Systematic evaluations of the cumulative effects and mortality displacement of ambient particulate matter (PM) pollution on deaths are lacking. We aimed to discern the cumulative effect profile of PM exposure, and investigate the presence of mortality displacement in a large-scale population. We conducted a time-series analysis with different exposure-lag models on 13 cities in Jiangsu, China, to estimate the effects of PM pollution on non-accidental, cardiovascular, and respiratory mortality (2015–2019). Over-dispersed Poisson generalized additive models were integrated with distributed lag models to estimate cumulative exposure effects, and assess mortality displacement. Pooled cumulative effect estimates with lags of 0–7 and 0–14 days were substantially larger than those with single-day and 2-day moving average lags. For each 10 μg/m3 increment in PM 2.5 concentration with a cumulative lag of 0–7 days, we estimated an increase of 0.50 % (95 % CI: 0.29, 0.72), 0.63 % (95 % CI: 0.38, 0.88), and 0.50 % (95 % CI: 0.01, 1.01) in pooled estimates of non-accidental, cardiovascular, and respiratory mortality, respectively. Both PM 10 and PM 2.5 were associated with significant increases in non-accidental and cardiovascular mortality with a cumulative lag of 0–14 days. We observed mortality displacement within 30 days for non-accidental, cardiovascular, and respiratory deaths. Our findings suggest that risk assessment based on single-day or 2-day moving average lag structures may underestimate the adverse effects of PM pollution. The cumulative effects of PM exposure on non-accidental and cardiovascular mortality can last up to 14 days. An integrated study of zircon U Pb ages and Lu Hf isotopes, whole-rock major-trace elements and Sr-Nd-Hf isotopes as well as amphibole and plagioclase major-trace elements is presented for early Paleozoic mafic intrusives from the Heishishan area in the Qilian orogen, northwestern China. The results provide not only constraints on the origin of their mantle sources but also insights into the effects of magma differeniation and recharge on their compositional variation. Zircon U Pb dating yields consistent ages of 449 ± 2 Ma and 449 ± 3 Ma, respectively, for hornblende gabbro and diorite. These mafic intrusives show arc-like trace element distribution patterns and weakly enriched Sr-Nd-Hf isotope compositions with whole-rock (87Sr/86Sr) i ratios of 0.7040 to 0.7063, ε Nd (t) values of −2.3 to −0.3 and ε Hf (t) values of 1.6 to 4.9, and zircon ε Hf (t) values of 0.2 to 5.9. These geochemical features indicate their origination from mantle sources that were generated through metasomatism by subducting Proto-Tethyan oceanic crust-derived fluids. Some samples exhibit high Th/Nb and (La/Yb) N ratios, suggesting that the metasomatic agents would be composed of seafloor sediment-derived hydrous melts and oceanic igneous crust-derived aqueous solutions. The consequent metasomatites in the mantle wedge would be lithochemically fertile and geochemically enriched and therefore are susceptible to partial melting for mafic magmatism. Amphibole and plagioclase in the studied igneous rocks show complex textural and compositional zonings, recording four stages of mineral crystallization during magma evolution. Combining the whole-rock and mineral geochemical characteristics together, we suggest that different batches of mafic melts would be produced by partial melting of the metasomatic mantle sources, experiencing variable degrees of magma differentiation and recharge prior to emplacement at the subsurface. Therefore, in addition to the nature of crust-mantle interaction at mantle depths, the processes of magma evolution and recharge at crustal depths would have also played an important role in the petrogenesis of arc-type mafic igneous rocks above the oceanic subduction zone. • Early Paleozoic syn -subduction mafic igneous rocks are reported in the Qilian orogen. • Melt-peridotite reaction during oceanic subduction determined the nature of their source at mantle depths. • Magma differentiation and recharge caused their compositional variation at crust depths. Background: The overall benefits of the newly introduced family‐based Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection control and management (FBCM) and screen‐and‐treat strategies in preventing multiple upper gastrointestinal diseases at national level in China have not been explored. We investigate the cost‐effectiveness of these strategies in the whole Chinese population. Materials and Methods: Decision trees and Markov models of H. pylori infection‐related non‐ulcer dyspepsia (NUD), peptic ulcer disease (PUD), and gastric cancer (GC) were developed to simulate the cost‐effectiveness of these strategies in the whole 494 million households in China. The main outcomes include cost‐effectiveness, life years (LY), quality‐adjusted life year (QALY), and incremental cost‐effectiveness ratio (ICER). Results: When compared with no‐screen strategy, both FBCM and screen‐and‐treat strategies reduced the number of new cases of NUD, PUD, PUD‐related deaths, and the prevalence of GC, and cancer‐related deaths. The costs saved by these two strategies were $1467 million and $879 million, quality‐adjusted life years gained were 227 million and 267 million, and life years gained were 59 million and 69 million, respectively. Cost‐effectiveness analysis showed that FBCM strategy costs −$6.46/QALY and −$24.75/LY, and screen‐and‐treat strategy costs −$3.3/QALY and −$12.71/LY when compared with no‐screen strategy. Compared to the FBCM strategy, the screen‐and‐treat strategy reduced the incidence of H. pylori‐related diseases, added 40 million QALYs, and saved 10 million LYs, but at the increased cost of $588 million. Cost‐effectiveness analysis showed that screen‐and‐treat strategy costs $14.88/QALY and $59.5/LY when compared with FBCM strategy. The robustness of the results was also verified. Conclusions: Both FBCM and screen‐and‐treat strategies are highly cost‐effective in preventing NUD, PUD, and GC than the no‐screen strategy in Chinese families at national level. As FBCM strategy is more practical and efficient, it is expected to play a more important role in preventing familial H. pylori infection and also serves as an excellent reference for other highly infected societies. Using a cue-target paradigm, we investigated the interaction between endogenous and exogenous orienting in cross-modal attention. A peripheral (exogenous) cue was presented after a central (endogenous) cue with a variable time interval. The endogenous and exogenous cues were presented in one sensory modality (auditory in Experiment 1 and visual in Experiment 2) whereas the target was presented in another modality. Both experiments showed a significant endogenous cuing effect (longer reaction times in the invalid condition than in the valid condition). However, exogenous cuing produced a facilitatory effect in both experiments in response to the target when endogenous cuing was valid, but it elicited a facilitatory effect in Experiment 1 and an inhibitory effect in Experiment 2 when endogenous cuing was invalid. These findings indicate that endogenous and exogenous cuing can co-operate in orienting attention to the crossmodal target. Background Accumulated evidence reveals that abnormally expressed genes in eutopic endometrium of endometriosis play a critical role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis. Aims Identification of endometriosis-related genes for further revealing the pathogenesis of endometriosis and offering the basis for developing the molecular-targeted diagnosis and therapy of endometriosis. Methods Forty women with endometriosis and forty control women without endometriosis during their secretory phase were selected for this study. cDNA representational difference analysis ( cDNA- RDA) was performed to screen the up-regulated genes in eutopic endometrium samples of endometriosis ( n = 10) compared with the controls ( n = 10). To validate the results, MAT2A, the most abundantly expressed gene, was selected to detect mRNA and protein levels between eutopic endometrium of endometriosis ( n = 40) and controls ( n = 40) using immunohistochemistry, real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR and Western blotting. Results Ten up-regulated genes were identified in eutopic endometria of endometriosis compared with controls. Among these genes, COX-2, BRAF, NRAS and CFL1 have already been reported to be associated with the endometriosis in previous studies. MAT2A, SEPT9, ATAD3A and CADM2 have been reported to be involved in other diseases but not in endometriosis. NAA15 and CCDC21 have not reported in any diseases. Further study showed that MAT2A protein was localised in both endometrial glandular and stromal cells. Compared with controls, the mRNA and protein levels of MAT2A were significantly higher in eutopic endometrium of endometriosis ( P < 0.05). Conclusions cDNA- RDA can be used to effectively identify the endometriosis-related genes, which can provide novel experimental data and further understand the pathogenesis of endometriosis. Antibiotic residues (ARs) in food of animal origin are of worldwide concern, particularly in China, the world's largest producer and consumer of antibiotics. Aiming to provide a reference for the use of antibiotics in dairy cows, for supervision and management departments in the detection of related antibiotics, and for guiding the safe use of antibiotics in food, this systematic review was carried out to determine the prevalence of ARs and antibiotic detection techniques in Chinese milk over the past three decades. The systematic review follows the PRSIMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) guidelines. Both English (Cochrane, Embase, MEDLINE, PubMed, and Web of Science) and Chinese databases (Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Science and Technology Journal Database, and WanFang Database) were systematically searched, from inception to 31 July 2020. Among the 3131 citations screened, 46 active surveillance cross-sectional studies published between 1988 and 2020 in 26 Chinese provinces were eligible, providing antibiotic levels for a total of 8788 milk samples. Although the AR rates in fresh and sterilized milk fluctuate, they have largely declined in recent years. Among the 18 evaluated antibiotics, sulfamethoxazole, chloramphenicol, and trimethoprim are primary antibiotics with high residual rates. The most frequently used technique to monitor antibiotic levels in milk is 2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) staining. This review confirmed the importance of food safety monitoring and surveillance systems in preventing antibiotic exceedances in food. Several lessons learned from antibiotic surveillance and supervision in China were revealed. The provision of education to rural farmers should be strengthened to enhance their knowledge on antibiotic use in animal agriculture. Moreover, a standard operational protocol for screening and targeting antibiotics in dairy products should be considered to increase the comparability between cross-sectional active surveillance studies of AR in milk. Abstract: A bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library consisting of 19,200 clones with an average insert size of 105kb has been constructed from a cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) inbred line S94, derived from a cultivar in North China. The entire library was equivalent to approximately 5 haploid cucumber genomes. To facilitate chromosome engineering and anchor the cucumber genetic linkage map to its chromosomes, 15 sequence-characterized amplified regions (SCAR) and seven simple sequence repeats (SSR) markers from each linkage group of cucumber were used to screen an ordered array of pooled BAC DNA with polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Fifteen markers gave at least two positive clones. As a result, 22 BAC clones representing 7 linkage groups of cucumber were identified, which further validated the genome coverage and utility of the library. This BAC library and linkage group specific clones provide essential resources for future research of the cucumber genome. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

• This is the first study to explore the relationship between family socioeconomic status, suicide ideation, effortful control, irritability, and future orientation among adolescents, particularly in the Chinese context. • 25.6% (last week) and 45.4% (worst) of adolescents reported suicide ideation, with a significantly higher rate of suicide ideation among girls than boys (both last week and worst) and higher rates of suicide ideation among older grades (worst). • The external objective environment (e.g., family SES) may not be directly related to the mental health of adolescents (e.g., irritability, suicide ideation) but can indirectly affect the healthy development of adolescents through internal factors (e.g., effortful control). • The results suggest that we should pay attention to the positive effects of effortful control and future orientation on suicide prevention and intervention and suppress the negative effect of irritability on suicide. Traditionally, most researchers believe that low family socioeconomic status (SES) is closely related to high suicide ideation, but this view remains controversial in empirical studies. Meanwhile, less is known about the mechanisms underlying this association. Moreover, previous studies on the relationship between family SES and suicide ideation have mostly focused on adults rather than adolescents and relatively lacked support from Chinese samples. Therefore, this study is based on the integrated motivational–volitional model of suicide behaviour and the context-process-outcomes model, aiming to determine whether and how family SES is associated with adolescents' suicide ideation and to evaluate the chain-mediating effect of effortful control and irritability, as well as the moderating effect of future orientation on this association. Data were extracted from 1058 girls and 855 boys, aged 11 to 19 years (14.86 ± 1.61 years), who completed a self-reported online survey. Descriptive statistics, t -test, chi-square test, bivariate correlations, and regression analysis were performed using IBM SPSS version 25. The conditional process model (CPM) was examined using SPSS PROCESS Macro 4.0. The results showed that there were differences in some demographic factors and the main study variables between adolescents with and without suicide ideation. In addition, the results suggested that family SES was not directly related to suicide ideation in adolescents, but it could indirectly effect suicide ideation through the chain-mediating effect of effortful control and irritability. Furthermore, future orientation moderated the relationship between irritability and suicide ideation. These findings provide evidence for current debates and conflicting conclusions, reveal the effect mechanism of family SES on suicide ideation, and add to empirical support for the prevention and intervention of adolescent suicide ideation. Abstract: The close homolog of L1 (CHL1), located on human chromosome 3p26.1, is a newly identified member of the L1 family of cell adhesion molecules which play important roles in cell migration, axonal growth, and synaptic remodeling. A positive association has been reported between a missense polymorphism in CHL1 gene and schizophrenia in the Japanese population [Sakurai, K., Migita, O., Toru, M., Arinami, T., 2002. In order to test this finding, we genotyped four SNPs in the gene in the Han Chinese population using a sample of 560 cases and 576 controls. Analysis of allele frequencies in both samples also showed strong association between SNP rs2272522 (the same marker studied by K. Sakurai) and the disease (X2=31.591, P<0.000001, OR=1.745, 95% CI=1.435–2.121). Our results confirm the positive association between CHL1 gene and schizophrenia and indicate that CHL1 may be involved in the etiology of schizophrenia. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
