Medical students in China and other non-English speaking countries are susceptible to English as a Foreign Language (EFL) writing anxiety. English writing is not only a vital component tested for admission to postgraduate and doctoral programs, but it is also critical for the publication of academic papers. Although there is mounting evidence indicating relationships between anxiety, self-esteem and mobile phone addiction, pathways between these three constructs within a structural equation model have not yet been examined. Furthermore, there has been a dearth of studies exploring EFL writing anxiety, from which medical students in China as well as other non-English speaking countries are prone to suffer. The study was to assess EFL writing anxiety among Chinese medical students and to examine the relationships between EFL writing anxiety, self-esteem, and mobile phone addiction, with an aim to offer empirical evidence for effective preventive or intervention measures to alleviate EFL writing anxiety. Cross-sectional data were obtained from 1,238 medical students in China, with the administration of a self-administered questionnaire comprising the Second Language Writing Anxiety Inventory (SLWAI), the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES) and the Mobile Phone Addiction Tendency Scale (MPATS). The results indicated that both self-esteem and mobile phone addiction exerted significant direct effects on EFL writing anxiety. Self-esteem also had a significant indirect effect on EFL writing anxiety via the mediating role of mobile phone addiction. The path coefficients of self-esteem on EFL writing anxiety were significantly reduced when mobile phone addiction was modeled as a mediator. Efforts to alleviate EFL writing anxiety among medical students may benefit from enhancing self-esteem and establishing a healthy relationship with mobile phones. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article examines the purpose of public cultural cloud services to identify current public service public culture and future development models; The results show that the average consistency indexes determined by the weight of evaluation indexes based on AHP are 0, 0, 0.514, 0.894, 1.118, 1.248, 1.344, 1.421, and 1.461, respectively. Their importance order is judged according to the degree of relative importance. According to the hierarchy and diversity of users' needs, a "multiple" development model of public digital culture cloud service is constructed. Research on the origin and source of hydrate-bound gas and its relationship to deep conventional oil and gas accumulation in a basin is critical to understanding the accumulation mechanism of gas hydrates and to resource evaluation of gas hydrate accumulation. In this study, the hydrate-bound gas obtained via pressure coring and the production gas recovered during a production test on a gas hydrate reservoir in the Shenhu area offshore of Southern China were tested and discussed. The geochemical analysis results indicate that methane is the predominant gas, and heavier hydrocarbons (C2+) are also present but in low concentrations. The molecular compositions of the hydrate gas recovered from two production test sites are similar to those of the hydrate-bound gas acquired via pressure coring. In addition to the isotopic composition of the methane, the carbon and hydrogen isotopes of the C2+ hydrocarbons were obtained for the first time. The δ13C isotopes of the methane range from −66.6‰ to −46.2‰, indicating that the hydrate-bound gases have a mixed origin, containing both biogenic and thermogenic gases. The plot of δ13C 1 versus δ13C 2 suggests that the biogenic and thermogenic hydrocarbons were derived from marine organic matter and terrestrial organic matter, respectively. The isotopic characterization of the hydrate-bound gas reveals that the thermogenic hydrate gas contains both humic-type gas and sapropel-type gas, but the sapropel-type gas is predominant. The source rocks of the thermogenic hydrate gas are interpreted to be both the gas-prone coal measure strata of the Enping Formation and the oil-prone medium-deep lacustrine strata of the Wenchang Formation, the latter of which contributed more to the hydrocarbon supply of the gas hydrates. In addition, the maturity of the source rocks of the thermogenic hydrate gas may be lower than that of the deeply buried conventional hydrocarbons discovered in the Baiyun Sag-Panyu Low Uplift area. The seismic profile crossing the shallow gas hydrate accumulations and deep conventional gas reservoirs clearly shows that the proven LW3-1 thermogenic gas reservoir communicated with the gas hydrate stability zone through vertical migration pathways formed by high-angle faults and gas chimneys. This indicates that there was a cogenetic relationship between the thermogenic hydrate gas and the deep conventional hydrocarbon reservoir, which was supplied the thermogenic gas derived from both the Wenchang and Enping formations. The major implications of this finding are that it confirms, rather than theorizes, the identity of the hydrocarbon source rocks of the thermogenic hydrate gas in the Shenhu area for the first time, and it demonstrates the coupling relationship between the shallow gas hydrate accumulations and the deep conventional reservoirs proposed in previous studies. The mechanisms of hydrocarbon migration and gas hydrate accumulation in the production test gas hydrate reservoirs in the Shenhu area were also identified, providing a valuable reference for subsequent exploration and for the potential exploitation of gas hydrate reservoirs in the South China Sea. • The δ13C and δD isotopes of the heavier hydrocarbons (C2+) in the Shenhu area are obtained for the first time. • The origin of the hydrate gas obtained from the second trial production well in the Shenhu area is confirmed. • The hydrocarbon source rocks of the thermogenic hydrate gas in the Shenhu area are identified. • Coupled paragenetic relationship between shallow gas hydrate and deep petroleum system is revealed. Background: Renal denervation (RDN) can lower blood pressure (BP) in patients with hypertension in both the presence and absence of medication. This is a sham-controlled trial investigating the safety and efficacy of RDN in China., Methods: This prospective, multicenter, randomized, patient- and outcome-assessor-blinded, sham-controlled trial investigated radiofrequency RDN in patients with hypertension on standardized triple antihypertensive therapy. Eligible patients were randomized 1:1 to undergo RDN using a multi-electrode radiofrequency catheter (Iberis; Shanghai Angiocare Medical Technology, Shanghai, China) or a sham procedure. The primary efficacy outcome was the between-group difference in baseline-adjusted change in mean 24-hour ambulatory systolic BP from randomization to 6 months., Results: Of 217 randomized patients (mean age, 45.3±10.2 years; 21% female), 107 were randomized to RDN and 110 were randomized to sham control. At 6 months, there was a greater reduction in 24-hour systolic BP in the RDN (-13.0±12.1 mm Hg) compared with the sham control group (-3.0±13.0 mm Hg; baseline-adjusted between-group difference, -9.4 mm Hg [95% CI, -12.8 to -5.9]; P <0.001). Compared with sham, 24-hour diastolic BP was lowered by -5.0 mm Hg ([95% CI, -7.5 to -2.4]; P <0.001) 6 months after RDN, and office systolic and diastolic BP was lowered by -6.4 mm Hg ([95% CI, -10.5 to -2.3]; P =0.003) and -5.1 mm Hg ([95% CI, -8.2 to -2.0]; P =0.001), respectively. One patient in the RDN group experienced an access site complication (hematoma), which resolved without sequelae. Objectives: Endothelial dysfunction plays a key role in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease. However, the gender-related differences in risk factors for endothelial dysfunction are controversial. We investigated the gender differences in the risk factor profiles for endothelial dysfunction in Chinese hypertensive patients., Methods: Vascular endothelial functions in 213 hypertensive patients were measured by digital reactive hyperemia peripheral arterial tonometry (RH-PAT). Peripheral blood samples were collected, and the self-reported smoking and alcohol consumption status, age, body mass index, heart rate, blood pressure and drug administrations were recorded., Results: RH-PAT indexes were attenuated in both male and female hypertensive patients [1.60 (1.38-2.02) vs. 1.63 (1.44-1.98)]. Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified plasma creatinine (p < 0.001), total cholesterol (p = 0.001), homocysteine (p = 0.002) and smoking (p < 0.001) as the independent factors correlated with gender (male). Multivariate linear regression analysis further identified homocysteine as the factor that is significantly and independently correlated with the decrease in the RH-PAT indexes in female patients (odds ratio: -0.166, 95% confidence interval: -0.292 to -0.040, p = 0.01). However, none of these four factors were correlated with the RH-PAT indexes in male patients., Conclusions: There are gender-related differences in the risk factors for endothelial dysfunction in Chinese hypertensive patients. Homocysteine is an independent factor for endothelial dysfunction in female hypertensive patients.
