The article offers information on the 2008 Olympic trip made by father and son David and Kaleb Zuidema in China. David Zuidema owned a septic service and pipe inspection and repair company, David Zuidema Inc., in New Jersey. Kaleb, David's 16-year-old son, is a javelin thrower at his state high school. The trip was partly a reward for Kaleb's good performance in his competitions. The Zuidemas visited the Great Wall of China and other tourist spots in the country.

Abstract

Javelin thrower Breaux Greer made the United States track and field team for the Beijing Games even though he failed to reach the final round at the Olympic trials. He was placed on the team, USA Track & Field said, based on a rule that allows for ''the selection of an injured athlete who competed in the Olympic trials but did not final ... as long as another athlete is not displaced from the team.'' Greer hurt his shoulder while winning a bronze medal at last year's world championships and had not thrown in competition until the trials.
