Background and objective Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is known as recalcitrant cancer with high malignancy and heterogeneity. Immunotherapy has changed the treatment pattern of extensive-disease SCLC (ED-SCLC), but the beneficiary population is limited. Therefore, exploring new therapeutic strategies is an urgent clinical problem to be solved for SCLC. SCLC is characterized by highly active glycolytic metabolism and pyruvate kinase M1 (PKM1) is one of the isozymes of PK, an important rate-limiting enzyme in glycolysis pathway. Previous studies have shown that PKM1 is related to autophagy and drug sensitivity, however, how PKM1 regulates drug sensitivity in SCLC and its mechanism remain unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the biological functions of PKM1 in SCLC, including its effects on proliferation, migration, autophagy, drug sensitivity, and expression of neuroendocrine (NE)-related markers in SCLC. Methods Western blot was used to detect the expression level of PKM1 in SCLC cells. PKM1 gene-overexpressed SCLC cell lines were constructed by stable lentivirus transfection. Proliferation of cells and drug sensitivity were detected by MTT, and migration ability of cells was determined by Transwell. The level of autophagy was detected by flow cytometry. Western blot was used to determine the expression levels of NE-related proteins. Results PKM1 was differentially expressed among various SCLC cell lines, and was lower in H1092 cells (P<0.01). Compared with the control group, there was no significant difference in proliferation level of PKM1 overexpressing H1092 cell, but the migration ability was significantly increased (P<0.001), the drug sensitivity was reduced, and the level of autophagy was inhibited (P<0.001). Additionally, overexpression of PKM1 could upregulate the expression of non-neuroendocrine (non-NE)-related proteins (P<0.01) and decrease the expression of NE-related proteins (P<0.01). Conclusion PKM1 was differentially expressed in SCLC cell lines, and high expression of PKM1 did not affect the proliferation, but affected the migration of SCLC cells. PKM1 might affect drug sensitivity by inhibiting autophagy and regulating the expression of NE markers. These results provide a theoretical basis for exploring the role of PKM1 in SCLC. Based on the geo-spatial distribution and rich social media data of many important scenic tourist places (high-level scenic spots in China), this study presents a quantitative analysis using GIS technology and several spatial statistical tools to examine the geographical distribution and network attention of these spots. It is found that there is a clear geographical imbalance in the spatial distribution of these scenic spots in China, primarily concentrated in the lower-lying and densely populated eastern regions. Using spatial autocorrelation methods to assess the degree of match between these two spatial patterns, it is observed that the spatial network attention and geographical distribution of hotspots are mutually correlated only in major coastal cities. The results enhance our understanding of effective tourism network marketing instruments and provide further insight into the geographical layout of scenic spots in the country. Background: Postpartum depression (PPD) is the most common mental illness affecting women during lactation, and good social capital is considered a protective factor. This study aimed to investigate PPD symptoms, and explore the relationships between social capital and PPD symptoms of lactating women in southwest minority areas in China. Materials and methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted among 413 lactating women in Guangxi, China. Data were collected using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale and the Chinese version of the Social Capital Assessment Questionnaire. Hierarchical regression analysis was conducted to explore the factors influencing PPD symptoms, and a structural equation model was used to examine how social participation and cognitive social capital mediated PPD symptoms. Results: The total prevalence of PPD symptoms (score > 12) was 16.46%, and that of mild depression symptoms (9–12 score) was 22.03%. Nine variables predicted PPD symptoms and explained 71.6% of the variance in the regression model: higher age, lack of medical security, fixed occupation, breastfeeding time, self-caregiver, maternity leave, social participation, social trust, and social reciprocity. Furthermore, cognitive social capital mediated the relationship between social participation and PPD symptoms, with a mediation effect rate was 44.00%. Conclusion: The findings of this study highlight that social capital, support from family members, maternity leave, and medical insurance play protective roles in the PPD symptoms of lactating women. It is necessary to improve social capital as a key strategy for interventions for PPD symptoms, and active social participation activities are critical to reducing PPD symptoms among lactating women in minority areas. He was the last remaining Jesuit in China (the new Jesuits returned to mainland China on 11 June 1842), and was a link between the Old Jesuits and New Jesuits.The first section will introduce his life in the Chinese court. He was the last of the Western painters who worked for Qianlong along with Father Giuseppe Panzi. The two painters replaced the more famous fathers Giuseppe Castiglione and Jean-Denis Attiret. He was also in charge of the translation between Latin and Manchu for the diplomatic correspondence between Pekin and Saint Petersburg. He was the first to translate most of the Bible into Chinese and Manchu. The paper will show the attitude of Chinese Emperor and other official's attitude to the suppression, Did they even care about the suppression of the Jesuits? What's of any concern to them? The second section will present a precious letter received from Father General Brzozowski written on Sept. 25, 1806 with the help of the Russian ecclesiastical mission. Father General Brzozowski asked whether Fr Louis de Poirot had received Gruber's permission to rejoin the Society and to enquire about the situation of the other fathers in China and the Chinese church. Background: Cognitive impairment is prevalent among individuals, especially women, with methamphetamine dependence. Although aerobic exercise has been shown to affect cognitive function in humans and animals, few related studies have focused on subjects with methamphetamine dependence. Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess the detoxification-related effects of aerobic exercise on cognitive function in women with methamphetamine dependence. Methods: A randomized controlled trial was used with 98 women with methamphetamine dependence undergoing a detoxification program at a mental hospital. The women were distributed using a computer-generated grouping random method into either the study or control group. The investigator conducting the baseline questionnaire, the neuropsychologist assessing the cognitive function, and the data analyst were blinded to group assignment. In addition to hospital routine care, the study group received an aerobic exercise intervention for 3 months. The control group only received hospital routine care. Attention and working memory were measured using the Trail Making Test and Digit Span Test, verbal memory was measured using Logical Memory (LM) and Memory for Persons Data (MPD), and executive function was measured using the Color-Word Stroop Test. Results: Forty-nine participants were randomized into each group, and the valid data of 43 participants in the study group and 46 in the control group were analyzed. The study group showed significantly more improvement over time in terms of Digit Span Test, Trail Making Test, LM-delayed, MPD-5 minutes delayed, MPD-30 minutes delayed, and Color-Word Stroop Test than the control group (p <.05). LM-immediate and MPD-immediate scores showed that the effects of time and the interaction between time and group were significant but that the main effect of group was not. Conclusions/Implications for Practice: Women undergoing detoxification for methamphetamine dependence may practice aerobic exercise to improve attention, working memory, executive function, and parts of verbal memory. Starting from the success of anti-CTLA-4 antibody in malignant melanoma, targeted immunotherapy has become one of the effective strategies for anti-tumor therapy, and raised a new wave of research on tumor immunotherapy. In the field of lung cancer, a series of clinical studies on immune-targeted drugs have been carried out aboard, nivolumab, pembrolizumab and atezolizumab have been approved for the treatment of lung cancer, which rewrite the history of lung cancer treatment. In China, clinical studies on immune-targeted drugs for lung cancer have also been developed. This paper presents the mineralogical and geochemical compositions of coal benches and non-coal (carbonaceous rock benches, parting, roof and floor) samples from the No. 1 Coal in the Longtan Formation of the Permian-Lopingian epoch from the Shugentian Coalfield, eastern Yunnan Province, southwestern China. The coal is rich in Nb, Ta, Zr, and Hf, which were derived from the Kangdian Upland with the dominant compositions of the Emeishan basalt. The minerals identified in the samples include mixed-layer illite-smectite, kaolinite, quartz, siderite, and minor calcite, pyrite, anatase and ankerite. Albite and chamosite occur in the roof and floor samples. The parting sample (SGT1-2p) is characterized by abundant siderite (64.9%) and calcite (20.1%), and one carbonaceous rock sample SGT1-11 contained a large amount of pyrite (26.1%). Four factors were responsible for the geochemical and mineralogical compositions in the samples; namely, the terrigenous detrital materials transported from the Kangdian Upland, direct volcanic ash inputs, multi-stage inputs of hydrothermal fluids, and marine influences. Debris flow moves in the form of surge waves and consists of dozens or even hundreds of surges that are separated in time and space and have a variety of appearances, as exemplified in Jiangjia Gully, China. Observations there indicate that the deposit is made up by superposition of successive surges and deposit of a single surge is in effect a 'frozen' surge. Then the study of debris flow is reduced to the study of surge sequence, which leads to a probabilistic picture of debris flow. This study attempts to find the probability distribution of velocity of surge using a huge data set of Jiangjia Gully. Statistics of the data shows that the velocity satisfies the Weibull distribution, which is believed to be universally valid because the distribution parameters vary little between events, with the shape parameter being well related to the average of velocity. It follows that the same distribution applies also to other quantities of debris flow, such as the flow depth and the discharge. Therefore, the distribution can be used to assess the magnitude and overflow range of a potential debris flow, as well as to the parameter calculation for engineering design. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We present a 620-year long ring width record from the middle Qilian Mountains, where it is presently controlled by the Westerlies. The chronology was developed from Qilian juniper ( Sabina przewalskii) growing at sites near the western distribution limit of the species in the northern Qilian Mountains, Gansu Province, China. A linear regression model between ring width and annual (July to June) precipitation accounts for 34.9% of the observed instrumental precipitation variance during the period 1952 to 2007. Spatial correlation analyses between the reconstruction and gridded precipitation data shows that the annual precipitation reconstruction captures regional climatic variations over the Qilian Mountains and the nearby Hexi Corridor. We also show the scaled standard chronology adjusted to the mean and variance of the instrumental data. Relatively wet periods are identified for AD 1390-1413, 1425-1450, 1530-1649, 1792-1920, 1937-1949 and 1980-1985. Dry conditions prevailed during AD 1414-1424, 1451-1529, 1650-1791, 1921-1936, 1950-1979 and 1986-2007. In comparison with the regression-based reconstruction, the scaled reconstruction indicates considerably wetter conditions during 1390-1413, 1425-1450, 1570-1630 and 1790-1920. The interval AD 1451-1529 was the most intense and longest drought epoch in the Hexi Corridor over the past six centuries. This drought was not only recorded in the Qilian Mountains but also occurred in northern and eastern China. It might be caused by a substantial weakening of the Asian summer monsoon induced by the joint effects of solar and volcanic activities at that time. Our results also suggest that the Hexi Corridor was under the control of the Asian monsoon circulation on inter-decadal to centennial timescales in the past centuries. We analyzed spatial and temporal growth variations of Qilian Junipers over the northeastern Tibetan Plateau (TP) during the period 1450—2001 by applying the empirical orthogonal function (EOF) technique to seven moisture-sensitive tree ring-width chronologies. The first three principal components together explain 78.21% of the total variance. The first principal component (PC1) accounts for 51.58% of the total variance, and represents consistent tree-growth variations in the northeastern TP. The second EOF mode reveals an opposite structure for the southern and northern parts of the northeastern Tibetan Plateau, reflecting the effect of huge topography and associated atmospheric circulation on tree-growth anomalies. The third EOF mode represents an opposite structure for the eastern and western parts of the northeastern Tibetan Plateau, possibly indicating the influence of different branches of atmospheric circulation system in this area. The EOF analysis results of instrumental precipitation data resemble those derived from the seven regional chronologies, providing further support that tree growth is a good indicator of regional precipitation variations. According to the PC1, dry conditions occurred in AD 1450—1510, 1631—1739, 1765—1833, 1866—1883 and 1921—1947, whereas periods of relatively wet years are identified for AD 1511—1630, 1740—1764, 1834—1865, 1884—1920 and 1948—2001. During the past 550 years, 28 years with extreme regional growth depressions was identified. These ring-width extremes generally occurred in century-scale dry periods. The years 1467, 1484, 1641, 1721, and 1928 with extreme tree-growth reductions in the northeastern TP are coeval with severe drought events in eastern China. In addition, the dry intervals or extreme growth depressions generally coincided with cold periods in the northeastern TP and vice versa, implying that the probability of occurrence of wet events in the northeastern TP will be higher in the future under the ongoing global warming. Thirty-three soil samples were collected from the Luling, Liuer, and Zhangji coal mines, in the Huaibei and Huainan areas, Anhui Province, China, in 2007. The concentrations of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), identified as priority pollutants by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), were determined by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). The sum of 16 US EPA PAHs ranged from 0.13 to 3.54 μg/g (dry weight basis) with a mean concentration of 0.84 μg/g. Among the three sampling sites selected around the coal mines, the site at the Luling coal mine revealed maximum concentration of PAHs, whereas minimum concentration was observed at the site at the Zhangji coal mine. In general, low-molecular-weight PAHs were predominant. The gob pile and coal preparation plant are the sources of PAHs pollution in surface soils in the vicinity of coal mines. The crops in rice paddies might adsorb some PAHs and reduce the PAHs content in soils from paddy fields. The vertical distribution of PAHs in two soil profiles indicates that PAHs contamination in soil profiles tends to occur high in the surface soils and markedly decreases with soil depth. For all depths, PAHs showed a similar distribution pattern, which is an indicator of a similar origin. The article presents a study on the temperature history recorded by tree rings in the Tibetan Plateau (TP), China during 1612-1998. The study develops two ring-width index chronologies such as traditionally standardized chronology (TSC) and regional curve standardization (RCS) for detrending. The results show that low-frequency and high-frequency temperature variations are captured by RCS and TSC reconstructions, and the response patterns of RSC chronology to climate data are similar to the TSC.

tree ring-width record spanning from AD 1377-1998 was developed from Tibetan juniper (Cupressus gigantea) growing at sites north of the deep gorge of the Yarlung Tsangbo River of southeast Tibet. A linear regression model between ring width and mean January-June temperature accounts for 35% of January-June temperature variance for the period 1961-1998. Based on this model, we reconstructed January-June temperature variation history for the study region during the past 622 years. Warm conditions occurred during AD 1385-1418, 1443-1466, 1482-1501, 1523-1548, 1570s, 1705-1759, 1770-1790, 1851-1888, 1910s, and 1938-1965, and periods of relatively cold years are identified forAD 1419-1442, 1470s, 1502-1522, 1550-1569, 1610-1640, 1680-1700, 1760s, 1791-1850, 1900s and 1965-1995. Spatial correlation between tree rings and observed temperatures indicates that the reconstruction is representative of temperature change for southeast Tibet. Regional cold conditions during AD 1625, 1685, 1760, 1800-1850, 1890-1930 and 1965-1995, and warm conditions during 1710, 1730-1750, 1850-1890 and 1930-1960 can be identified in the eastern Tibetan Plateau. Our reconstruction shows good agreement with modelled regional temperatures derived from an ECHO-G model simulation. Common cold periods around 1470, 1685 and 1845 corresponding to the Spörer Minimum, the Maunder Minimum and the Dalton Minimum periods of low solar activity and increased volcanic activity were identified, indicating that solar and volcanic activity played an important role in temperature change of this region. The discrepancy between modelled and reconstructed temperatures was noted around 1965, reflecting that temperature decrease in the late 20th century (1965-1995) is anomalous. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Red flower oil is a group of herbal medicinal liniments widely used in China and Southeast Asia. The color of red flower oil is adjusted to red or brownish-red by adding natural dyes. Objective: The objective of this study is to identify and quantify the synthetic dyes illegally used in red flower oil. Methods: Thirty-two batches of red flower oil (from nine manufacturers) were collected from different cities in China. Highperformance liquid chromatography-diode array detection-mass spectrometry (HPLC-DAD-MS) analysis was performed to identify the chemical dyes in the samples, and high-performance liquid chromatography-diode array detection (HPLC-DAD) was used to quantify the chemical dyes. Results: Sudan I, Sudan IV, and Solvent Red 207 were detected in nine batches of preparations (from three manufacturers) with concentration ranges of 101.7-214.9 lg/mL for Sudan I, 24.0-41.0 lg/mL for Sudan IV, and 147.5-221.7 lg/mL for Solvent Red 207. Conclusion: In present study, sudan I, sudan IV, and solvent red 207 were detected in red flower oil. The control of chemical dyes in food and drug should be further studied and not limited to sudan dyes. Highlights: It is the first report about the detection of solvent red 207 in food and drug.
