Advancement in technologies such as robotic industries and artificial intelligence bring fear among human being that jobs will be substituted by robots. Base on the panel data of 28 China's manufacturing industries, this research analyzed the impact of technical progress bias on employment. First, we calculate the technical progress bias index of 28 industries base on the stochastic frontier model with transcendental logarithm function found 16 industries were toward the skilled labor while the remaining 12 industries were toward the unskilled labor. Second, the empirical results show that technical progress bias has a positive impact on the total manufacturing employment and significant positive effect on the unskilled labor, while no significant impact on skilled labor employment. Third, the threshold effect test proves that if taking industry value-added per capita or R&D capital stock as threshold variable, the threshold about the impact exist, making the impact on skilled labor was insignificant. Large amount of carbon emission is the main hazard to environment and human health. The aim of this research is to investigate the impact of economic growth, forest zone, agricultural productivity, and energy consumption on environmental pollution in China using time series data from 1980 to 2020. The underline research utilized dynamic ordinary least‐squares (DOLS) method, Johansen and Engle–Granger cointegration tests, and the autoregressive‐distributed lag (ARDL) technique to analyze the varying data set. To compare findings, fully modified ordinary least squares (FMOLS) and canonical cointegrating regression (CCR) estimators are estimated. Energy use and population raise CO2 emissions with 1% economic development. Long‐term CO2 emissions may be reduced by 1% agriculture production and forestry zone growth. The Granger causality test showed causation between all variables. Results reveal that China might achieve sustainable development goals by cutting down CO2 emissions and mitigate global climate change. The underline research presents policy recommendations for attaining environmental sustainability in China through green investment by reducing carbon emissions. These policies highlight promoting use of renewable energy, financing green technological progression in agricultural productivity, and the ecological feasibility of China's forests. The present research aims to shed light on the effects of monetary policy on China's tourism market development from 2004 to 2016. Monetary policy plays an increasingly important role in China's economy. With the Chinese economy in rapid development, the country's tourism market experienced significant growth. This study uses the Granger Causality test and factor-augmented vector auto-regression (FAVAR) model to identify the effects of monetary policy on China's tourism market through four transmission mechanism channels. Our results show that macroeconomic growth promotes China's tourism market development. Moreover, the money supply channel, exchange rate channel, and other assets channel have significant and adverse effects on China's tourism market development. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this article is to explore the impact of housing investment on household entrepreneurship. Using survey data from China and employing a Probit model, we examine three aspects of housing status and innovatively subdivide household entrepreneurship into agricultural entrepreneurship and business entrepreneurship. The results show that households with higher housing investment are less likely to become agricultural entrepreneurs, but more likely to start a new business. Households with full-owned housing enjoy a higher likelihood to become business entrepreneurs. However, other ownerships have no relation with the choice of entrepreneurship. More housing loans discourage entrepreneurial activities. One exception is that bank loan raises the chance of being agricultural entrepreneurs. Households who build their own houses have a higher agricultural entrepreneurship. Buying market price houses encourages households to be business entrepreneurs. Motivated from the shortage of the existing research studies on impacts of dangerously contagious diseases on firms' financial performance, this study sheds light on the impacts of Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak on financial performance upon on the quarterly data of 126 Chinese listed firms across 16 industries. Overall, the Covid-19 outbreak reduced Chinese listed firms' financial performance proxied by the revenue growth rate, ROA, ROE, and asset turnover. This outbreak's negative effects on Chinese firms' profitability were much smaller than that on their revenue growth rates. While this outbreak's negative effects on financial performance of Chinese listed firms were bigger for those that were seriously affected by this pandemic like airlines, travel, and entertainment (ATE), this pandemic's effects were positive for the medicine industry. In the meanwhile, Chinese listed firms that located in high-risk regions suffered a bigger financial loss during the outbreak, and especially there was a strong Hubei effect. The corporate culture and CSR moderated the inverse relationship between this outbreak and Chinese firms' financial performance. Findings of this study contribute to enrich the existing literature on impacts of the Covid-19 outbreak on firms' financial performance worldwide and suggest helpful practical and theoretical implications. In today's dynamic environment, delivering exclusive and meaningful consumer interactions is critical for brands to stand out. In this sense, we suggested that consumer loyalty is influenced by online brand interactions due to brand familiarity. In a cross-sectional study conducted on 307 customers of leading and popular online selling brands in China across different industries, we found that online brand experience has significant and positive effect on customer satisfaction. Affective brand experience has a statistically negligible direct impact on customer satisfaction, emotional brand experience has a substantial and optimistic direct effect on customer satisfaction, and behavioural brand experience has a significant and harmful direct effect on customer satisfaction. In addition, it was discovered that brand awareness has a major mediating impact in the relationship between affective and behavioural brand experiences and consumer satisfaction, but no significant mediating influence in the relationship between emotional and cognitive brand experiences and customer satisfaction. Furthermore, in order to accomplish the enormous goal, China's cross-country coal use must be covered to allow it to peak before 2020, and fossil fuel byproducts must peak before 2030. Agricultural water salvation is the lifeblood of the national economy and is of great significance to the high-quality development of the region. In order to maximize the economic assistances of agricultural water salvation investment, this article focuses on panel data from 2005 to 2019 in 14 provinces in Eastern China, this research constructs an economic development evaluation index system from five dimensions: innovative development, coordinated development, green development, open development and shared development, and uses dynamic panel model to explore the influence relationship and path of Eastern Agricultural water salvation investment on economic development. The results represent that: there is a significant non-linear effect between agricultural water salvation investment and economic growth, showing an inverted U-shaped relationship. Which means that with the expansion of agricultural water salvation investment; economic growth has risen first and then declined. At present, the impact of agricultural water salvation investment in the Eastern region on economic development is in the promotion stage of positive and sustained growth. The recommendation of this research will help the state control in the amount of agricultural water salvation investment in the Eastern region, improve the efficiency of agricultural water salvation investment, and provide support in decision making. Stocks markets play their financial roles of price shocks and hedging just when they are proficient. The imperative highlights of productive market are that one cannot make extraordinary profit from the stocks markets. This research investigates whether China wheat futures price can be predicted by employing artificial intelligence neural network. This would add to our knowledge whether wheat futures market is resourceful and would enable traders, sellers, and investors to improve cost-effective trading strategy. We utilize the traditional financial model to forecast the wheat futures price and acquire out of sample point estimates. We additionally assess the robustness of our outcomes by applying several alternative forecasting techniques such as artificial intelligence with one hidden layer and autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model. Furthermore, the statistical significance of our point estimation was further tested through the Mariano and Diebold test. Considering random walk forecast as the bench mark, we used a number of economic indicators, trader's expectation towards futures prices, and lagged value of futures price of wheat in order to forecast the evaluation of wheat futures price. The computable significance of out of sample estimations recommends that our ANN with one hidden layer has the best anticipating presentation among all the models considered in this exploration and has the estimating power in foreseeing wheat futures returns. With increasing technology advancement, online shopping, and growth of affordable segment, smartphone users' switching behavior is becoming a concern for smartphone companies. To fill the research gap that persists in relation to the switching behavior of smartphone users from a multidimensional view, this study integrates the push-pull-mooring model to investigate and classify factors that affect the switching behavior of smartphone users. To test the hypotheses in relation to different predictors, data were collected from a survey of 246 users of the top ten smartphone brands in China and analyzed using structural model equation through regression analyses. The results revealed that the pull, push, and mooring factors have a significant impact on the switching behavior of smartphone users. While the pull effects have a stronger impact than push effects, the mooring factors were found to have a significant and strongest effect on smartphone users' switching behavior. In particular, subjective norm showed the greatest impact on switching behavior, product quality and obsolete features showed significant and weak impact while brand image, switching cost, and poor customer service did not show any significant impact. This research aims to develop an ecological carrying capacity index for the ecological environment under the principle of the pressure-state-response framework model and discusses the coupling coordination of ecological environment pressure, state, and response system of the urban region in china from 2011 to 2020. Furthermore, predicated the degree of security warning for each year while establishing the ecological carrying capacity index and the urban ecological coupling model. Results specify that the coordination degree of urban ecological development in Nanchang, Jiangxi has been improved year by year, the ecological carrying capacity security index shows an upward tendency from the overall view, and the security warning degree rises from comparative insecurity to comparative security. The analysis demonstrates that in the process of national ecological civilization construction demonstration zone construction, the ecological resources and environmental policies adopted by Nanchang city have played a great role in promoting ecological security. Scientific evaluation of the interaction between urbanization and the eco-environmental system in Central China is of great significance. To optimizing the quality of urbanization and improving the eco-environmental state. As a case study of Central China, this research attempts to build a set of analytical systems to realize the integrated deconstruction from analyzing comprehensive evaluation indexes, quantification of coupling coordination, spatiotemporal evolution traits, decoupling path exploration to influential factor analysis. It tries to clarify the differences between cities, identify problematic areas, and propose targeted improvement measures. The outcomes show that the urbanization level of the cities in Central China has been improved significantly. In contrast, their eco-environmental levels are fluctuating, with the growth rate lower than that of urbanization. The coordination level between the two systems is rising, changing from primary dysfunction to intermediate coordination. The coordination level is characterized by obvious spatial association dominated by Types H-H and L-L and ever-increasing agglomeration. The decoupling between the two systems only falls into two types: strong decoupling and relative decoupling with expansion, indicating a negative effect between them. There is a problem regarding negative urbanization development. The factors including energy consumption, investment in fixed assets, opening to the outside world, technological progress, and government management capabilities all have an impact on the coordination of the two with divergent significances., (Copyright © 2021 Elsevier Inc.
