The evaluation and prediction of favorable coalbed methane (CBM) sweet spot play an important role in well location deployment and recovery prediction in CBM blocks. This work investigates the CBM geology and accumulation characteristics of No. (8 + 9) coal in the Carboniferous Taiyuan Formation in Yangjiapo block based on data from 14 CBM wells. The desorption index is proposed to be used to study the CBM desorption potential in Yangjiapo block, and the parameter of reduced water level is adopted to study the CBM hydrodynamics of the block. Furthermore, the analytical hierarchy fuzzy evaluation method is used to evaluate and prediction the CBM development sweet spot in Yangjiapo block. The results show that the buried depth of the No. (8 + 9) coal seam in Yangjiapo block varies from 693.20 to 1213.20 m, the coal thickness is from 5.40 to 13.10 m, the gas content is from 5.89 to 10.55 m3/t, and the minimum horizontal principal stress is from 9.80 to 20.82 MPa. The desorption potential is better in the southeastern and central-western part of the block. It is found that there is a positive relationship between CBM content and hydrodynamics and indicated that CBM easily concentrates in the lower reduced water level area. The CBM favorable development sweet spot is forecasted to be located in the southeastern part, central-western region, and northeastern part of Yangjiapo block. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Chylous ascites (CA) presents a challenge as a relatively common postoperative complication in gastric cancer (GC). Primary conservative therapy involved total parenteral nutrition, continuous low-pressure drainage, somatostatin, and a low-fat diet. Drainage tube (DT) clamping has been presented as a potential alternative conservative treatment for GC patients with CA., Aim: To propose novel conservative treatment strategies for CA following GC surgery., Methods: The data of patients with CA after GC surgery performed at the Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center between 2006 and 2021 were evaluated retrospectively., Results: 53 patients underwent surgery for GC and exhibited postoperative CA during the study period. Postoperative hospitalization and time of DT removal showed a significant positive association ( R 2 = 0.979, P < 0.001). We further observed that delayed DT removal significantly extended the total and postoperative hospitalization, antibiotic usage duration, and hospitalization cost (postoperative hospitalization: 25.8 d vs 15.5 d, P < 0.001; total hospitalization: 33.2 d vs 24.7 d, P < 0.01; antibiotic usage duration: 10.8 d vs 6.2 d, P < 0.01; hospitalization cost: ¥9.2 × 10 4 vs ¥6.5 × 10 4 , P < 0.01). Multivariate analysis demonstrated that postoperative infection and antibiotic usage were independent factors for delayed DT removal. Furthermore, DT removal times were shorter in seven patients who underwent DT clamping (clamped DT vs normal group, 11.8 d vs 13.6 d, P = 0.047; clamped DT vs delayed group, 13.6 d vs 27.4 d, P < 0.001). In addition, our results indicated that removal of the DT may be possible after three consecutive days of drainage volumes less than 300 mL in GC patients with CA., Conclusion: Infection and antibiotic usage were vital independent factors that influenced delayed DT removal in patients with CA. Appropriate standards for DT removal can significantly reduce the duration of hospitalization. Objective: To investigate the effectiveness, safety, adverse events (AEs), and outcomes of percutaneous radiologic gastrostomy (PRG) in patients with dysphagia caused by cerebral infarction., Study Design: An interventional study., Place and Duration of Study: Department of Interventional Oncology, Dahua Hospital, and the Department of Internal medicine, Changqiao Community Health Service Center, Shanghai, China, from January 2016 and December 2019., Methodology: This study included sixty patients with cerebral infarction-induced dysphagia aged between 49-79 years. All patients were equally and randomly divided into the observation group (PRG group) and the control group (NFT group). Early and long-term results of PRG and nasal feeding tube (NFT) treatment were assessed., Results: No significant differences in serum albumin, prealbumin, haemoglobin, and circumference of triceps (p>0.05) were observed between the two groups before treatment. After treatment, both serum albumin, prealbumin, haemoglobin, and the circumference of the triceps increased in the PRG group compared with the NFT group (p<0.05), indicating better nutrition status. The adverse events (AEs) rate of the PRG group (3.33%, 1/30) was significantly lower than the NFT group (30%, 9/30, p=0.005). The comfort level of the PRG group (93.33%, 28/30) was significantly higher than the NFT group (53.33%, 16/30, p<0.001)., Conclusion: Percutaneous radiologic gastrostomy can improve the nutritional status of patients with dysphagia caused by cerebral infarction. Purpose: To ascertain if assisted hatching (AH) increases the risk of placenta-associated diseases and perinatal outcomes after frozen-thawed cleavage-stage embryo transfer., Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 924 women who conceived with frozen-thawed cleavage-stage embryos transfer with (n = 390) or without (n = 534) laser-AH between 2013 and 2015. Data were obtained from the database on in vitro fertilization (IVF) patients in Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital. We assessed neonatal (preterm birth, low birthweight, fetal macrosomia, stillbirth) and obstetric (miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, post-term pregnancy, gestational diabetes (GDM), preeclampsia, intrahepatic cholestasis (ICP), placenta previa, placental abruption, premature rupture of membranes) outcomes., Results: In twins, the median birthweight was lower in the AH group than that in the control group, and the prevalence of low birthweight (< 2500 g) was significantly higher in the AH group; after adjusting for maternal age, body mass index, mode of fertilization, and parity, no significant difference was found. In twins, no significant difference was detected in the prevalence of stillbirth or preterm pregnancy. In singleton births, there was no significant difference in the prevalence of low birthweight, macrosomia, preterm pregnancy or post-term pregnancy between the two groups. In singletons and twins, there were no significant differences in the prevalence of miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, preeclampsia, GDM, ICP, or placenta abruption between the two groups., Conclusions: AH is a relatively safe method and our study provides important information for using this method in carefully selected patients., (© 2021. The glutathione-S-transferase (GST) family contributes to the inactivation of various toxic compounds formed as secondary metabolites during oxidative stress. GSTP1 accounts for the majority of the GST family enzymatic activity, and the activity of GSTP1 enzyme can be altered by the presence of the Ile105Val polymorphism. In this study, we examined the polymorphic frequency of GSTP1 Ile105Val genotype in 920 breast cancer patients and 783 healthy controls in women of North China. Results showed that GSTP1 105Val allele (Ile/Val and Val/Val) was associated with a higher breast cancer risk (OR = 1.38, 95% CI: 1.14-1.69; P = 0.001) and more aggressive tumors with histological grade III (OR = 1.15, 95% CI: 1.05-1.26; P = 0.001), lymph node metastases (OR = 2.35, 95% CI: 1.72-3.21; P < 0.001), as well as ER negative (OR = 1.77, 95% CI: 1.31-2.39; P < 0.001) than those carrying the Ile/Ile allele. However, the patients with the GSTP1 105Val genotype had a better disease free survival after cyclophosphamide (CTX)-based chemotherapy than those with Ile/Ile (HR = 0.77, 95% CI: 0.45-0.91; P < 0.001). Furthermore, in vitro cellular experiments demonstrated that breast cancer cells with the GSTP1 105Val allele were significantly more sensitive to CTX-induced proliferation inhibition. Thus, we conclude that the GSTP1 105Val allele increases breast cancer risk and aggressiveness and enhance response to CTX-based chemotherapy in women of North China. Detection of the GSTP1 Ile105Val genotype may help screen for high-risk populations and direct individualized therapy.

In March 2002, the government of China launched the World Bank Loan/ Department for International Development-supported Tuberculosis (TB) Control Project to reduce the prevalence and mortality of TB. The project generated promising results in policy development, strengthening of TB control systems, patient treatment success, funds management, and the introduction of legislation. In light of the global TB epidemic and control environment, it is useful to review the TB control priorities of the project, summarize the achievements and experiences around its implementation.
