The article presents a study which aims to determine the design typology, locations, and construction date of Gin Drinker's Line's pill-boxes built by the colonial government of Hong Kong, China. It states that the study examines post-war aerial photographs taken by R.C. Huntings and Great Britain Royal Air Force and conducts site visits to measure and locate the pill-boxes while consults relevant archive materials to assist in interpreting the findings. Results show that 50 out of 76 pill-boxes that were mapped have survived. It also mentions the use of aerial photography in conservation planning and historical research.
