Motivation is key to the generation of creative ideas, intrinsic motivation is the core driving force of creativity. Researchers believe that individuals with higher intrinsic motivation will produce higher novelty and flexibility. Creativity may also be influenced by environmental cues, which are objects in the environment that individuals can use to solve problems. This study investigated the influence of intrinsic motivation and environmental cues on social creativity and whether there is an interaction effect of intrinsic motivation and environmental cues on the process of electronic brainstorming (EBS). The results showed that individuals generated more ideas (both in quantity and type) when presented with more cues. In this process, the influence of the number of cues on the fluency and flexibility of social creativity was regulated by intrinsic motivation. The more novel the cues, the higher the overall level of originality of the ideas generated by participants. In this process, the influence of the novelty of cues on the effectiveness and fluency of social creativity was regulated by intrinsic motivation. This study offers a fresh theoretical perspective on the complicated relationship between intrinsic motivation and creativity. Furthermore, it provides empirical evidence to inform training on social creativity for university students.

Electrocatalytic methods are valuable tools for addressing water pollution and scarcity, offering effective pollutant removal and resource recovery. To investigate the current status and future trends of electrocatalysis in wastewater treatment, a detailed analysis of 9417 papers and 4061 patents was conducted using scientometric methods. China emerged as the leading contributor to publications, and collaborations between China and the USA have emerged as the most frequent partnerships. Primary article co-citation clusters focused on oxygen evolution reaction and electrochemical oxidation, transitioning towards advanced oxidation processes ("persulfate activation"), and electrocatalytic reduction processes ("nitrate reduction"). Bifunctional catalysts, theoretical calculations, electrocatalytic combination technologies, and emerging contaminants were identified as current research hotspots. Patent analysis revealed seven types of electrochemical technologies, which were compared using SWOT analysis, highlighting electrochemical oxidation as prominent. The technological evolution presented the pathway of electro-Fenton to combined electrocatalytic technologies with biochemical processes, and finally to coupling with electrocoagulation. Standardized evaluation systems, waste resource utilization, and energy conservation were important directions of innovation in electrocatalytic technologies. Overall, this study provided a reference for researchers to understand the framework of electrocatalysis in wastewater treatment and also shed light on potential avenues for further innovation in the field. Victimization could cause cognitive dysfunction like negative cognitive bias. While there are studies of contemporaneous consequences, there is insufficient research on whether and how early victimization will affect adult negative cognitive bias. This study examined the dual role of resilience (i.e., whether resilience would moderate the relationship between early victimization and negative cognitive bias, and/or whether resilience would mediate the same relationship). A total of 972 college students (40% were males, Mage = 19.25, SD = 1.17, range = 16-25) from three universities in Central China completed a series of anonymous questionnaires on early victimization, resilience, and negative cognitive bias. After controlling for demographic variables, the results indicated that early victimization was positively correlated with negative cognitive bias of college students. Moderation analysis indicated that resilience moderated the relationship between early victimization and negative cognitive bias. Mediation analysis revealed that resilience partially mediated the same relationship. Specifically, the effect of early victimization on negative cognitive bias was stronger for college students with high level of resilience than those with low level of resilience. Meanwhile, early victimization affected negative cognitive bias partially through resilience. The findings elucidate the dual role of resilience in the relationship between early victimization and negative cognitive bias. On the one hand, negative cognitive bias can be reduced by enhancing resilience among victims, on the other hand, the protective role of resilience may be weakened with the increase of victimization, reminding us to pay more attention to victims with high level of resilience. Aim: To investigate the prevalence of SUI and explore the factors that could influence the severity of SUI in adult females. Design: A cross‐sectional study. Methods: A total of 1178 subjects were assessed using a risk‐factor questionnaires and International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Short Form (ICIQ‐SF) and then divided into no SUI group, mild SUI group and moderate‐to‐severe SUI group according to the ICIQ‐SF score. Univariate analysis between adjacent groups and ordered logistic regression models in three groups were then performed to analysis the possible associated factor with the progressive of SUI. Results: The prevalence of SUI among adult women was 22.2% of them; 16.2% and 6% had mild SUI and moderate‐to‐severe SUI, respectively. Moreover, logistic analysis revealed that age, BMI, smoking, position preference for urination, urinary tract infections, urinary leaks during pregnancy, gynaecological inflammation and poor sleep quality were independent risk for the severity of SUI. Conclusion: SUI symptoms were mostly mild among Chinese females, specific risk factors such as unhealthy living habits and urination behaviours increased the risk of SUI and the aggravation of symptoms. The pyrethroids (PYRs) were extensively used to increase agriculture outputs. However, the cumulative exposures of PYRs would bring about potential risks through food intake. It is an urgent requirement to explore the cumulative exposures on the fruits and vegetables. In this study, a total of 1720 samples incorporating eight primary fruits and vegetables collected around China were investigated to assess the health risk for adults and children from eight PYRs. The relative potency factor (RPF) method was employed to reveal both chronic and acute cumulative exposure. As a result, the hazard index (HI) were 0.004 ~ 0.200% and 11.85 ~ 99.19% for chronic and acute cumulative dietary exposure, respectively. The national wide investigation indicated the cumulative assessments were not hazardous. Besides, the acute intake of pear, grape, and lettuce should be paid on more attention, particularly. Based on the collation and collection of a large number of data, we construct an induced earthquake database, QuakeQuake, and report a total of 193 human‐induced earthquake cases in China. 155 human‐induced earthquakes in China recorded in the global‐induced earthquake database (HiQuake) are revisited and re‐arranged by compiling the Chinese literature. The human‐induced earthquakes in QuakeQuake database are classified into three levels of reliability, strong, moderate and weak levels, based on both human‐induced processes and seismic activity. Three main categories including reservoir‐induced earthquakes, mine‐induced earthquakes and other induced earthquakes in China are sorted based on data recording and types of the induced earthquakes. Most of the induced earthquakes with strong level in QuakeQuake database are mainly minor earthquakes (3 ≤ M < 4.5). The focal depth of reservoir‐induced and mining‐induced earthquakes is within 30 and 8 km deep, respectively. The active type of source faults of the large induced earthquakes is mainly thrust type with the highest proportion. The largest observed magnitude of the induced earthquakes (MMAX) correlates positively with the injection/extraction volume, reservoir dam heights, reservoir capacity and lithology of the reservoir area. Nine volume intervals corresponding to each induced earthquake type are figured out. Based on the analysis of the mechanisms of human‐induced earthquakes in China, the main mechanisms of surface mass loading are karst collapse or gas explosion, pore water pressure effect and gravity energy release. Underground material extraction is mainly induced by the compaction of different reservoirs. Two injection types of underground material are gas injection and water injection. Gas injection is related to continuous stress loading and unloading. Two induction mechanisms of water injection are the increase of fault pore pressure and the change of fault load condition. With climate change, frequent forest fires and prolonged fire period occur all over the world. Moreover, carbon emission from forest fire affects the carbon cycle of the forest ecosystem. However, this effect varies by region with no uniform conclusions, and fewer comparative studies exist on such differences between regions. In this paper, net primary productivity (NPP) data MOD17A3 were used as an important parameter of forest carbon absorption, along with MODIS fire spot data MCD14DL and burned area data MCD64A1. Forest carbon lost under forest fire interference in the northeast and southwest natural forest areas of China was studied to explore the role of forest fire in the carbon cycle process and its differences in the unlike regions of China. Here, by means of kernel density analysis and M-K trend test, the characteristics of forest fires in China's southwest and northeast forests were calculated. Forest carbon emission under forest fire disturbance was quantified by reference to the forest fire emission factor list. We show that (1) the total number of forest fire spots in the southwest region from 2001 to 2020 was 1.06 × 105, 1.28 times that of Northeast China. However, the total burned area in the southwest was only 67.84% of that in the northeast. (2) The total carbon emissions from forest fires in the southwest from 2001 to 2020 was 37,559.94 Gg, 10.77% larger than the northeast forest, CH4 and CO2 were 13.52% and 11.29% larger respectively. Moreover, the carbon emissions of forest fire in the northeast showed a downward trend, R2 = 0.16 (p < 0.1), while it remained basically unchanged in the southwest. The contribution of carbon emissions from forest fires changed with forest types, it was shown as: evergreen needleleaf forest (14.98%) > evergreen broadleaf forest (10.81%) > deciduous needleleaf forest (6.52%) > deciduous broadleaf forest (5.22%). (3) From 2001 to 2020, under the premise that the NPP both manifested upward trends, the NPP of the burned areas showed a significant downward trend in the southwest forest, with R2 = 0.42 (p < 0.05), while it increased in the northeast forest, with R2 = 0.37 (p < 0.05). It showed negative correlation between NPP of burned areas and forest fire carbon emissions, and forest fire disturbance had no significant effect on forest NPP in Northeast China, while net carbon loss occurred in Southwest China. In general, under different forest fire characteristics, NPP, which represents forest carbon uptake, and carbon emissions from forest fires show differences. The impact of forest fire disturbance on forest carbon process varies with regions. The study can provide some ideas on the effects of forest fire disturbance on climate change. Porcine sapelovirus (PSV) is an emerging swine enteric virus that can cause various disorders including acute diarrhea, respiratory distress, reproductive failure, and polioencephalomyelitis in pigs. In this study, we isolated a PSV strain HNHB-01 from a clinical porcine deltacoronavirus- (PDCoV-) positive intestinal content of a diarrheic piglet. PSV was first identified using the small RNA deep sequencing and assembly, and further identified by the electron microscopic observation and the immunofluorescence assay. Subsequently, this virus was serially passaged in swine testis (ST) cells, and the complete genomics of PSV HNHB-01 passage 5 (P5), P30, P60, and P100 were sequenced and analyzed. 9 nucleotide mutations and 7 amino acid changes occurred in the PSV HNHB-01 P100 strain when compared with the PSV HNHB-01 P5. Pathogenicity investigation showed that orally inoculation of PSV HNHB-01 P30 could cause obvious clinical symptoms and had broad tissue tropism in 5-day-old piglets. Epidemiological investigation revealed that PSV infections and the coinfections of diarrhea coronaviruses were highly prevalent in swine herds. The complete genomes of 8 representative PSV epidemic strains were sequenced and analyzed. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the PSV epidemic strains were closely related to other PSV reference strains that located in the Chinese clade. Furthermore, recombination analysis revealed that the recombination events were occurred in downstream of the 2C region in our sequenced PSV HNNY-02/CHN/2018 strain. Our results provided theoretical basis for future research studies of the pathogenic mechanism, evolutionary characteristics, and the development of vaccines against PSV. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Taking the enforcement of the Notice on the Phased Reduction of Social Insurance Contribution Rates as a quasi-natural experiment, the impact of the reduction policy of social insurance contribution rates on enterprise innovation was examined with a difference-in-difference (DID) model based on the data of A-share listed companies from 2007 to 2018 in China. Our study revealed that the implementation of the policy significantly boosted enterprise innovation. In addition, tests of potential mechanisms indicated that implementing the policy greatly reduced the actual social insurance contribution of enterprises and released more funds, thus promoting the innovation of enterprises. This study of the relationship between social insurance contribution rates and enterprise innovation proved that further implementation of policies to reduce taxes and fees could alleviate burdens on enterprises and stimulate innovation. Data on safety and immunogenicity of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) vaccinations in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients are limited. In this multicenter prospective study, HCC patients received two doses of inactivated whole‐virion COVID‐19 vaccines. The safety and neutralizing antibody were monitored. Totally, 74 patients were enrolled from 10 centers in China, and 37 (50.0%), 25 (33.8%), and 12 (16.2%) received the CoronaVac, BBIBP‐CorV, and WIBP‐CorV, respectively. The vaccines were well tolerated, where pain at the injection site (6.8% [5/74]) and anorexia (2.7% [2/74]) were the most frequent local and systemic adverse events. The median level of neutralizing antibody was 13.5 (interquartile range [IQR]: 6.9–23.2) AU/ml at 45 (IQR: 19–72) days after the second dose of vaccinations, and 60.8% (45/74) of patients had positive neutralizing antibody. Additionally, lower γ‐glutamyl transpeptidase level was related to positive neutralizing antibody (odds ratio = 1.022 [1.003–1.049], p = 0.049). In conclusion, this study found that inactivated COVID‐19 vaccinations are safe and the immunogenicity is acceptable or hyporesponsive in patients with HCC. Given that the potential benefits may outweigh the risks and the continuing emergences of novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 variants, we suggest HCC patients to be vaccinated against COVID‐19. Background and Purpose: Oral health plays an important role in overall health. But little is known about the problems with oral health behaviors and oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) among dental patients in China. This study aimed to investigate oral health behaviors and OHRQoL, as well as to examine the effects of oral health behaviors and associated factors on OHRQoL among dental patients. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted from June 2022 to July 2022 in the Department of Stomatology of the First Mobile General Hospital of Armed Police, Hebei, China. The five-item short form of the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-5) was used to evaluate OHRQoL. Oral health behaviors were assessed by a 16-items oral health behavior questionnaire, and socio-demographic data were collected by a socio-demographic questionnaire. The t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple linear regression analysis were used to investigate the associations between the study variables. Results: 186 participants were included in the study. The average age of the participants was 24.62 years (SD = 10.67). The mean OHIP-5 score was 4.31 (SD =3.35). Oral health-related quality of life differed significantly by smoking history, history of alcohol consumption, work status, economic pressure, self-rated oral health status, daily brushing frequency, dental caries condition, and whether they take the initiative to learn about oral health. Multivariate analysis found that the self-rated oral health status and work status were significantly associated with the OHIP scores. The retired people and those with poor self-rated oral health displayed poor OHRQoL. Conclusion: In general, dental patients' oral health needs to be improved, the majority of patients reported practicing poor oral health behaviors, among which the retired population and hose with poor self-rated oral health showed poor OHRQoL. Comprehensive Summary: Researchers investigated the organic optoelectronic materials and facilitated their development in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs), chemo‐ and biosensors, organic solar cells, data storage, and anticounterfeiting devices. Atoms make up molecules through chemical bonds, and molecular aggregates are formed through weak intermolecular interactions. The opto‐electronic performance of these materials depends on not only the properties of the well‐designed molecules with specific function groups, but also their aggregate states. The molecular aggregates in the form of nanoparticles can be applied in biological imaging, and films can be applied to photovoltaic and photodeformable devices, in which, the alignment of optoelectronic molecules can be either an ordered crystalline or an amorphous state. Generally, the crystalline materials could be deeply investigated by single crystal/powder X‐ray diffraction analysis, which could provide the accurate information about molecular conformations, interactions and packing characteristics. It afforded a convenient way to investigate the possible relationship between molecular aggregates and opto‐electronic properties. Among various opto‐electronic materials, organic room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) materials exhibit the extremely sensitive luminescence property to molecular aggregates, even the dynamic properties can be detected by the tiny change of molecular aggregates. Thus, we selected the organic RTP emission as the output information of molecular aggregates, and afforded typical examples to find the possible relation between RTP effect and molecular packing. Accordingly, molecular packing can be adjusted by the external force as light, mechanical force, temperature, electric field, and so on, as well as the molecular structures as the building blocks, and the systematic investigation in the dynamic and static aggregation structures is of great value to the design of various optoelectronic materials. This review discusses the relationship among molecular structures, aggregation behaviors and corresponding optoelectronic properties by a comprehensive summary of recent research in our group, and the concept of molecular uniting set identified characteristic (MUSIC) is afforded. Objectives: The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a significant toll on people worldwide for more than 2 years. Previous studies have highlighted the negative effects of COVID-19 on the mental health of healthcare workers (HCWs) more than the positive changes, such as post-traumatic growth (PTG). Furthermore, most previous studies were cross-sectional surveys without follow-ups. This study draws on PTG follow-up during the COVID-19 outbreak at 12-month intervals for 2 years since 2020. The trajectories and baseline predictors were described. Methods: A convenience sampling method was used to recruit frontline nurses or doctors at the COVID-19-designated hospital who were eligible for this study. A total of 565 HCWs completed the 2 years follow-up and were used for final data analysis. The latent growth mixture models (GMM) was used to identify subgroups of participants with different PTG trajectories. Multinomial logistic regression model was used to find predictors among sociodemographic characteristics and resilience at baseline. Results: Four trajectory PTG types among HCWs were identified: ‘Persistent, “Steady increase”, “High with drop”, and “Fluctuated rise.” Comparing the “Persistent low” type, the other three categories were all associated with older age, higher education. Furthermore, “Persistent low” was also negatively associated with resilience at baseline. Conclusion: The PTG of HCWs with different characteristics showed different trends over time. It is necessary to increase the measure frequency to understand the PTG status in different times. Improving HCW’s resilience could help improve staff PTG. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Integrated, timely data about pavement structures, materials and performance information are crucial for the continuous improvement and optimization of pavement design by the engineering research community. However, at present, pavement structures, materials and performance information in China are relatively isolated and cannot be integrated and managed. This results in a waste of a large amount of effective information. One of the significant development trends of pavement engineering is to collect, analyze, and manage the knowledge assets of pavement information to realize intelligent decision-making. To address these challenges, a knowledge graph (KG) is adopted, which is a novel and effective knowledge management technology and provides an ideal technical method to realize the integration of information in pavement engineering. First, a neural network model is used based on the principle of deep learning to obtain knowledge. On this basis, the relationship between knowledge is built from siloed databases, data in textual format and networks, and the knowledge base. Second, KG-Pavement is presented, which is a flexible framework that can integrate and ingest heterogeneous pavement engineering data to generate knowledge graphs. Furthermore, the index and unique constraints on attributes for knowledge entities are proposed in KG-Pavement, which can improve the efficiency of internal retrieval in the system. Finally, a pavement information search engine based on a knowledge graph is constructed to realize information interaction and target information matching between a webpage server and graph database. This is the first successful application of knowledge graphs in pavement engineering. Simple Summary: The Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenée), is the most destructive lepidopteran insect pest of corn (Zea mays L.) in China. Pathogenic microorganisms play an important role in the population control of the Asian corn borer. Although microorganisms can cause the death of O. furnacalis, an immune response also occurs as an attempt to fight off and eliminate invading pathogens. If the molecular mechanism of interaction between O. furnacalis and pathogenic bacteria is clarified, the lethal effect of pathogenic microorganisms can be better exerted by inhibiting the natural immune response of O. furnacalis. As an important member of the pattern-recognition receptor family, peptidoglycan recognition protein (PGRP) plays a key role in the insect innate immune response. In this study, we cloned two PGRP genes from O. furnacalis and analyzed their spatiotemporal expression. In combination with bacterial induction experiments, we revealed the immune signal recognition pathway involved in the two proteins. The results of this study deepen the understanding of the natural immune response of O. furnacalis and provide new ideas for better utilization of pathogenic microorganisms in biological control of the Asian corn borer. Peptidoglycan recognition proteins (PGRPs) are important components of insect immune systems, in which they play key roles. We cloned and sequenced two full-length PGRP, named OfPGRP-A and OfPGRP-B, from the Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis. These two genes comprise open reading frames of 658 and 759 bp, encoding proteins of 192 and 218 amino acids, respectively. qPCR showed that OfPGRP-A and OfPGRP-B are prominently expressed in the midgut of O. furnacalis fourth instar larvae. After inoculation with Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus thuringiensis, the expression of OfPGRP-A was significantly upregulated, whereas the expression of OfPGRP-B was enhanced after inoculation with Escherichia coli. This suggests that OfPGRP-A mainly recognizes Gram-positive bacteria and may participate in the Toll signaling pathways, while OfPGRP-B identifies Gram-negative bacteria and may participate in Imd signaling pathways. Background: HIV prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care services might be hampered by inaccurate risk assessment. This study aimed to investigate the extent of and factors associated with the discordance between perceived risk and actual risky sexual behaviors among undergraduates in mainland China, guided by the Anderson's behavioral model.Methods: This study involved a secondary analysis of cross-sectional data collected during the fall semester of 2018-2019 academic year. The present analysis was restricted to 8808 undergraduates with low risk perception. Those who had low perceived risk but actually engaged in risky sexual behaviors were categorized as risk discordance (RD). Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify factors associated with RD.Results: Overall, the discordance rate between perceived and actual risk was 8.5% (95% CI: 7.9%-9.1%). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis indicated that non-heterosexual women (AOR = 0.41, 95% CI:0.27-0.60), heterosexual men (AOR = 0.45, 95% CI:0.33-0.61) and women (AOR = 0.26, 95% CI:0.19-0.35) were less likely to exhibit RD, when compared with non- heterosexual men. Furthermore, non-freshmen (AOR = 1.57, 95% CI:1.30-1.90), early initiators of sexual intercourse (AOR = 5.82, 95% CI:4.10-8.26), and those who had lower levels of HIV knowledge (AOR = 1.28, 95% CI:1.08-1.51), displayed higher levels of stigma against PLHIV (AOR = 1.50, 95% CI:1.26-1.77) and had ever been tested for HIV (AOR = 1.36, 95% CI:1.04-1.77) were more prone to reporting RD. Those with more enabling resources [i.e., displaying high levels of condom use self-efficacy (AOR = 0.70, 95% CI:0.59-0.84) and being knowledge of local testing center (AOR = 0.71, 95% CI:0.60-0.83)] were less likely to report RD. However, spending more than 2000 Yuan a month on basic needs (AOR = 2.55, 95% CI:2.07-3.14), residing in urban areas (AOR = 1.35, 95% CI:1.15-1.59) and being knowledgeable of the national AIDS policy (AOR = 1.40,95% CI:1.18-1.66) increased the chance of exhibiting RD.Conclusions: Comprehensive interventions, including targeting students with high-risk characteristics, improving the acceptability of PrEP and PEP, conducting health education, enhancing self-efficacy for using condoms and making opt-out HIV testing routine in college campus, should be taken to reduce the discordance between perceived and actual HIV risk and finally to reach the goal of Zero AIDS. Background and Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the pharmacokinetics, safety, and tolerability of aclidinium bromide/formoterol fumarate in patients from China with moderate-to-severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methods: In this open-label, repeat-dose, 5-day pharmacokinetic study (NCT03276078) of inhaled aclidinium bromide/formoterol fumarate 400/12 µg twice daily, plasma concentrations of aclidinium, formoterol, and two aclidinium metabolites (LAS34823, LAS34850) were assessed (days 1 and 5). Adverse event (AE) data were collected. Results: Twenty patients (15 [75%] males) with a mean age of 59.2 years were included. Median (range) time to maximum concentration on days 1 and 5 was 0.08 (0.08–0.50) and 0.08 (0.08–0.50) h, respectively, for aclidinium; and 1.00 (0.08–3.00) and 0.08 (0.08–1.50) h, respectively, for formoterol. Mean elimination half-life and accumulation ratio for area under the concentration–time curve during a dosage interval (AUCτ) was 19.42 h and 2.0, respectively, for aclidinium; and 14.06 h and 1.4, respectively, for formoterol. Steady-state maximum concentration (Cmax,ss) and AUCτ on day 5 were 60.86 pg/mL and 168.80 h·pg/mL, respectively, for aclidinium; and 6.47 pg/mL and 31.98 h·pg/mL, respectively, for formoterol. Aclidinium produced high coefficients of variation (day 1: AUCτ 79.0%, Cmax 84.5%; day 5: AUCτ 82.2%, Cmax 150.0%). Few AEs were reported, typically one per patient. One patient discontinued due to a serious AE (considered possibly unrelated to treatment). Conclusions: Aclidinium/formoterol 400/12 µg twice daily was well-tolerated in patients from China with moderate-to-severe COPD. Safety findings were consistent with the known safety profile. The Mariana subduction structure is a hot topic in ocean‐ocean subduction zone research, and its subduction mechanism has attracted wide attention from experts and scholars in China and abroad. Based on the multi‐channel seismic data of survey line MGL1204 in the Mariana fore‐arc and DSDP ocean drilling data, this paper studies the development and evolution characteristics of the structure and strata in the Cenozoic Mariana fore‐arc sedimentary basin. The Cenozoic strata are divided into six seismic sequences, with the possible era of each seismic sequence discerned, and the relationship between fault development and earthquakes analyzed. The episodic activity of the volcanic chain of the Mariana island arc is thought to control the tectonic and stratigraphic development pattern of the Cenozoic sedimentary basin in the fore‐arc. Between 16°N–19°N and 146°E–151°E, the maximum thickness of the sedimentary center of the Cenozoic fore‐arc sedimentary basin in Mariana is about 2360 m. Normal faults are developed in the area and some broke to the seabed, indicating that the Mariana island arc is still in the post‐arc expansion stage. Based on an extended three-step CDM model, this paper addresses the impacts of research and development (R&D) and information and communication technology (ICT) on firm productivity for the World Bank innovation survey data of China. The study includes ICT investment and R&D as the two main inputs into innovation and productivity. We find that R&D and ICT investments positively affect product innovation and process innovation, with R&D being more important for innovation and productivity, and ICT being more important for innovation and no direct effect on productivity. We conclude that R&D and ICT investments increase the probability of product innovation and process innovation, which increase firm's productivity, suggesting that R&D and ICT investments indirectly affect productivity through innovation. Background: Haemophilia A (HA) is an X‐linked bleeding disorder caused by mutations in the coagulation factor Ⅷ (F8) gene. Its incidence in men is estimated to be approximately 1/5000. Objective: This study aimed to characterize the mutation spectrum of the F8 gene in 485 Chinese families, encompassing all HA phenotypic classes. Additionally, we evaluated the accuracy of prenatal diagnosis of foetuses at risk of having HA. Methods: Long‐Distance PCR (LD‐PCR) and Multiplex PCR were used to detect inversions, next‐generation sequencing (NGS) was used for point mutations, and multiplex ligation‐dependent probe amplification (MLPA) was used for large deletions or duplications. Results: A mutation spectrum of 478 HA families was produced. Throughout 26 exons and 15 introns, a total of 237 different alterations of mutations were detected, of which 146 are known mutations (64.5%) and 91 are novel mutations (35.5%). Prenatal diagnosis revealed 97 normal males (35.79%), 103 HA males (38.01%), 36 normal females (13.28%), and 38 HA carrier females (14.02%). Conclusion: Using a systematic approach comprised of three steps, 237 pathogenic variants in 478 out of 485 patient samples (98.6%) were detected, including the identification of a heterogeneous mutation spectrum of 91 novel mutations. Background and Aim: Human milk has potential protective effects against bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). However, studies on the association between the dose of human milk and BPD in China are limited. This study aimed to evaluate the dose-dependent effects of human milk on BPD and other neonatal morbidities in very low birth weight (VLBW) infants.Methods: This retrospective cohort study of preterm infants was conducted on preterm infants of gestational age ≤ 34 weeks and birth weight < 1500 g admitted to the multicenter clinical research database for breastfeeding quality improvement in Jiangsu province. The multivariate analysis was performed to compare the effect outcomes of daily graded doses [1-24 mL/(kg · day), 25-49 mL/(kg · day), and ≥ 50 mL/(kg · day) of body weight] of human milk on neonatal outcomes throughout the first 4 weeks of life versus a reference group receiving no human milk. The models were adjusted for potential confounding variables.Results: Of 964 included infants, 279 (28.9%) received exclusive preterm formula, 128 (13.3%) received 1-24 ml/(kg · day), 139 (14.4%) received 25-49 ml/(kg · day), and 418 (43.4%) received ≥50 ml/(kg · day) human milk for the first 4 weeks of life. Compared with infants receiving exclusive formula, those receiving the highest volume of human milk daily [≥50 mL/(kg · day)] had lower incidences of BPD [27.5% in ≥50 mL/(kg · day) vs 40.1% in 0 mL/(kg · day) human milk, P = 0.001)], moderate and severe BPD [8.9% in ≥50 mL/(kg · day) vs 16.1% in 0 mL/(kg · day), P = 0.004], necrotizing enterocolitis [NEC; 3.8% in ≥50 mL/(kg · day) vs 10.8% in 0 mL/(kg · day), P = 0.001], late-onset sepsis [LOS; 9.3% in ≥50 mL/(kg · day) vs 19.7% in 0 mL/(kg · day), P <0.01], and extrauterine growth retardation [EUGR; 38.5% in ≥50 mL/(kg · day) vs 57.6% in 0 mL/(kg · day), P <0.01)]. The present study examined the interactions of adolescents' temperamental effortful control and parental psychological control on adolescents' depressive symptoms in China. A total of 440 adolescents between the ages of 14 and 20 years (Mage = 15.7) participated in this study. Data on parental psychological control, adolescents' depressive symptoms and effortful control were collected from self‐reports. Results showed that adolescents' effortful control moderated the link between paternal psychological control and adolescents' depressive symptoms. Specifically, for adolescents with low levels of effortful control, paternal psychological control was positively associated with increased depressive symptoms whereas for adolescents with a high level of effortful control, this association was not significant. In addition, maternal psychological control was associated with adolescents' depressive symptoms. These findings confirmed and extended previous findings on the associations between parental psychological control, children's temperament effortful control, and depressive symptoms in adolescence. Aim: To identify the psychological change process of the registered nurses who worked in the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak. Background: The pandemic of COVID-19 has continued to pose an unprecedented threat and challenge to people's health around the world. Nurses are at high risk because they work within the closest proximity to patients. Understanding nurses' psychological change process during the care for patients with COVID-19 is imperative for healthcare leaders. Methods: This was a qualitative descriptive study that took place in a hospital in Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the COVID-19 epidemic, from February 9th to March 15th, 2020. Using purposive sampling, we interviewed 23 nurses. Data were analyzed using Colaizzi's method of data analysis to find, understand, and describe nurses' experiences. Results: The psychological change process of frontline nurses included three stages, early, middle, and later stages. The psychological characteristics of each period were ambivalence, emotional exhaustion, and energy renewal, respectively. Nurse leaders were anchors in facilitating frontline nurses' psychological adaptation. Conclusions: In the past month, the psychological characteristics of nurses changed over time. The study indicated the necessity for nurse leaders to implement intervention programs based on nurses' psychological characteristics in different periods to promote nurses' health during this critical time period. Introduction: Asia-Pacific Colorectal Screening (APCS) score has been implemented for colorectal cancer screening in asymptomatic cohort in many regions. However, no study has validated its efficiency in Asian outpatients with mild-self-limited gastrointestinal symptoms yet. The purpose of this study was to validate its efficiency in asymptomatic subjects and outpatients in Ningxia. Methods: The records of 329 asymptomatic participants and 300 outpatients were collected and analyzed from database in the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from September 2017 to April 2018. These 2 main groups were divided into 3 tiers based on the scores calculated by the category of APCS score. The detection rates of advanced colorectal neoplasia (ACRN) were further compared according to histopathological classifications of tissues acquired during colonoscopy. Results: Among the 329 participants screened in the asymptomatic cohort, 78 subjects (23.7%) were in the low-risk (LR) tier, 187 subjects (56.8%) in the moderate-risk (MR) tier, and 64 subjects (19.5%) in the high-risk (HR) tier. The percentage of ACRN in the LR, MR, and HR groups was 1.3, 8.6, and 20.3%, respectively. In the 300 outpatient cohorts, 78 patients (26%) were in the LR tier, 140 patients (46.7%) in the MR tier, and 82 patients (27.3%) in the HR tier. The detection rates of ACRN in the LR, MR, and HR groups were 0, 10, and 39%, respectively. Conclusion: APCS score is an effective method for ACRN screening in asymptomatic and also the outpatient subjects. Individuals with HR scores should be given priority for colonoscopy. The emission characteristics of VOCs in the rubber footwear industry (RFI) and its effect on human health are poorly understood to date. Herein, up to 68 VOCs, sorted into seven classes including alkanes, alkenes, acetylene, aromatics, halocarbons, carbon disulfide, and oxygenated VOCs, were monitored. VOCs emitted from three main processing stages of RFI, including shaping, painting and vulcanizing, were 383, 1507 and 1026 mg/m3, respectively. The top 10 VOCs contributing to the concentration and ozone formation potential were identified. Generally, alkanes were the major component emitted from three stages, contributing 48.58%–63.07% of the total VOCs. Alkenes contributed most to the OFP, accounting for 37.2%–69.1%. Based on the risk assessment, a definite cancer risk for workers in shaping workshop should be noticed. Several VOCs with a life carcinogenic risk higher than 10−4, especially benzene, bromodichloromethane, ethylbenzene and 1,1,2-trichloroethane, should be focused on. Therefore, more attention should be taken for the extended-ranges of VOCs in subordinate RFI, except for the publicly concerned aromatics in rubber industry. A VOCs emission inventory from the production process of Chinese RFI in 2000–2016 was compiled. It is estimated that Chinese RFIs have emitted a total of 319 × 104 t VOCs in those past 17 years. Development of adventitious roots (ARs) at the base of the shoot is an important adaptation of plants to waterlogging stress; however, its physiological mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we investigated the regulation of AR formation under waterlogged conditions by hormones and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in Cucumis sativus L., an agriculturally and economically important crop in China. We found that ethylene, auxin, and ROS accumulated in the waterlogged cucumber plants. On the other hand, application of the ethylene receptor inhibitor 1‐methylcyclopropene (1‐MCP), the auxin transport inhibitor 1‐naphthylphthalamic acid (NPA), or the NADPH oxidase inhibitor diphenyleneiodonium (DPI) decreased the number of ARs induced by waterlogging. Auxin enhanced the expression of ethylene biosynthesis genes, which led to ethylene entrapment in waterlogged plants. Both ethylene and auxin induced the generation of ROS. Auxin‐induced AR formation was inhibited by 1‐MCP, although ethylene‐induced AR formation was not inhibited by NPA. Both ethylene‐ and auxin‐induced AR formation were counteracted by DPI. These results indicate that auxin‐induced AR formation is dependent on ethylene, whereas ethylene‐induced AR formation is independent of auxin. They also show that ROS signals mediate both ethylene‐ and auxin‐induced AR formation in cucumber plants. In response to waterlogging, many plants develop adventitious roots (ARs) to enhance gas exchange and nutrient uptake. Auxin, ethylene, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) all take part in this process, but little is known about how they interact. In cucumber, we report that auxin‐induced AR formation is dependent on ethylene, whereas ethylene‐induced AR formation is independent of auxin. Accurate source apportionment of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in soil nearby petrochemical industries prevailing globally, is critical for preventing pollution. However, in the process, seasonal effect on contamination pathways and accumulation of soil VOCs is often neglected. Herein, Yanshan Refining-Chemical Integration Park, including a carpet, refining, synthetic rubber, and two synthetic resin zones, was selected for traceability. Season variations resulted in a gradual decrease of 31 VOCs in soil from winter to summer. A method of dry deposition resistance model coupling partitioning coefficient model was created, revealing that dry deposition by gas phase was the primary pathway for VOCs to enter soil in winter and spring, with 100 times higher flux than by particle phase. Source profiles for five zones were built by gas sampling with distinct substance indicators screened, which were used for positive matrix factorization factors determination. Contributions of the five zones were 14.9%, 20.8%, 13.6%, 22.1%, and 28.6% in winter and 33.4%, 12.5%, 10.7%, 24.9%, and 18.5% in spring, respectively. The variation in the soil sorption capacity of VOCs causes inter-seasonal differences in contribution. The better correlation between dry deposition capacity and soil storage of VOCs made root mean square and mean absolute errors decrease averagely by 8.8% and 5.5% in winter compared to spring. As a traditional medicinal plant, licorice (Glycyrrhiza uralensis) with high medicinal and economic value and its demand is increasing around the world. In recent decades, the endless human excavation and climate change have reduced the natural habitat of licorice. Identifying the suitable habitat of licorice and climatic factors is crucial to formulating effective protection and management strategies. This study simulated the suitability geographic distribution of licorice in the current period by combining climate and topographic variables and predicted the possible changes in suitable habitats for licorice under different climate warming scenarios (RCP8.5, 6.0, 4.5, 2.6) in the future (2041–2080) based on Maxent and ArcGIS models. The study results showed that annual average temperature, temperature seasonality, annual precipitation and elevation were the primary eco-factors influencing the spatial distribution of licorice. Currently, the high, medium and low suitable areas of licorice are 108.87 × 104 km2, 70.29 × 104 km2 and 122.80 × 104 km2, respectively. These habitat regions were mainly distributed in the northwest, northeast and north of China. The research found that the habitat suitability and habitat range of licorice will increase in the future, while the potentially highly suitable habitat will decrease and the habitat fragmentation will increase with the intensification of global warming. The analysis results can provide a theoretical reference for the formulation of protection strategies and the selection of suitable planting areas for licorice. Prior research has indicated that positive moods increase but negative moods decrease the trait activation of spontaneous trait inferences ( STIs). However, it is unknown whether this difference is also present in STIs about the actor. In Study 1, using a false recognition paradigm, we found that Chinese undergraduates made STIs about the actor. In Study 2, we found that the happy Chinese undergraduates were more likely to make STIs about the actor than the sad Chinese undergraduates. The honey peach (Prunus persica (L.) Batsch) is the third most important worldwide fruit ranking after apples and pears. It is essential to seek the critical metabolites for identifying the origins as well as exploring potential valuable information for the honey peach. In this study, the honey peach from five main cultivation regions in the north of China were studied. Firstly, the metabolic profiling of honey peach was characterized by UPLC-Q-TOF/MS. Subsequently, the multivariate statistical techniques were performed to obtain critical metabolites. As a result, 58 metabolites were regarded as potential key markers that revealed the significant difference among the five groups. The screened critical metabolites of quercitrin, plantagoside, 3- p -coumaroylquinic acid, procyanidin, and quinic acid might have positive impacts on honey peach. Moreover, the partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) model was developed with the critical metabolites. It gained acceptable predictive ability with the accuracy of 0.9444 for the validation set. Field experiments were conducted at three typical wheat–maize double-cropping sites in north and northwest China to investigate ammonia (NH 3 ) volatilization from urea and from urea amended with 0.12% (w/w) Limus ® (a new urease inhibitor consisting of 75% N-(n-butyl) thiophosphoric triamide (NBPT) and 25% N-(n-propyl) thiophosphoric triamide (NPPT)) in winter wheat. Grain yields and nitrogen (N) budgets of all N treatments were also evaluated to investigate the effects of urea-N application rates and Limus during one wheat season. Cumulative NH 3 losses after two weeks for conventional urea were 11–25% of applied N, while those for urea amended with Limus were only 0–6% of applied N. The urease inhibitor increased fertilizer N retention more strongly when soil and environmental conditions promoted extensive NH 3 losses. However, grain yields were not significantly ( P > 0.05) enhanced by Limus compared to conventional urea at all three sites. A clear increase in apparent N recovery efficiency (RE N ) with Limus (ranging from 10 to 16%) resulted at the Quzhou (QZ) site compared to equal amounts of optimized urea-N, with an increase in RE N of up to 65% under a further 20% N-reduced urea amended with Limus treatment. Lactones are important flavor compounds in lots of foodstuffs. They also play an important role in brandy, but have not been studied at large. In this study, solid-phase extraction (SPE) and stir bar sorptive extraction (SBSE) combined with comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography and time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC × GC-TOFMS) were applied to identify and quantify lactones in brandies between China and France. Totally 17 lactones were identified, four of which were detected only in SBSE. Among them, γ-valerolactone, γ-heptalactone, δ-octalactone, γ-undecanolactone and δ-dodecalactone were detected in brandy for the first time. The results of partial least squares-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) revealed that lactones distinguished regional characteristics among different brandies. The omission test showed that four lactones (OAV > 1) had direct impact on the aroma of brandy, and other seven lactones at sub-threshold (0.1 < OAV < 1) provided peach and apricot aroma characteristics through synergistic effects. Crohn's disease (CD)-related fibrotic stricture remains a clinical challenge because of no effective treatments. This study aimed to evaluate the potential efficacy of rapamycin in patients with CD-related strictures in different locations in gastrointestinal tract. A pilot prospective study on using rapamycin for CD-related stricture was performed from April 2015 to August 2020 in a single center in China. Fifteen patients were enrolled into the study. The clinical efficacy was evaluated by diet score and gastrointestinal obstruction symptoms score. Clinical responses were defined as the ability to tolerate the regular diet with vegetable fiber combined with a reduction of ≥75% in overall target score and a score of less than two points for each item. Three patients discontinued rapamycin for less than 1-month due to intolerance to adverse events, then, 12 patients received ≥1 dose of the rapamycin and provided ≥1 post-baseline target score after baseline were included for intent-to-treat (ITT) analysis. 100% (5/5) of patients with upper gastrointestinal strictures achieved clinical response after using rapamycin. However, no clinical response was observed in those patients with CD lesions in lower gastrointestinal tract. Adverse events occurred in 40% (6/15) of patients. No death or serious opportunistic infections were observed in the present study. The Chinese Government has established stringent policies since 2005 to control SO 2 , particulate matter, and NO x emissions from sintering plants with the aim of tackling severe air pollution in China. In this study, the PCN concentrations in 144 stack gas, 87 discarded fly ash, and 24 desulfurization by-product samples from 24 Chinese sintering plants were determined. This study revealed that desulfurization processes decreased PCN emissions by 47.2%–72.2%. However, these PCNs were not completely eliminated, and transformed to desulfurization by-product. PCN emission in such previously ignored solid residues, including of desulfurization by-product and fine particles, produced in the process of cutting down air pollutants emissions from Chinese sintering plants between 2005 and 2015 was found contained 324 kg, and these residues therefore need to be managed better than currently. Furthermore, PCN concentrations were higher from produced in old plants than produced in new plants, so it is necessary to increase the rate at which out-of-date sintering plants are eliminated. Phasing out old sintering processes decreased total PCN emissions in China by 1549 kg between 2005 and 2015. Background: The rice black-streaked dwarf virus (RBSDV) disease causes severe rice yield losses in Eastern China and other East Asian countries. Breeding resistant cultivars is the most economical and effective strategy to control the disease. However, few varieties and QTLs for RBSDV resistance have been identified to date. Results: In this study, we conducted a genome-wide association study (GWAS) on RBSDV resistance using the rice diversity panel 1 (RDP1) cultivars that were genotyped by a 44,000 high-density single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers array. We found that less than 15% of these cultivars displayed resistance to RBSDV when tested under natural infection conditions at two locations with serious RBSDV occurrence. The aus, indica and tropical japonica sub-populations displayed higher RBSDV resistance than the aromatic and temperate japonica sub-populations. In particular, we identified four varieties that displayed stable levels of RBSDV resistance at all testing locations. GWAS identified 84 non-redundant SNP loci significantly associated with RBSDV resistance at two locations, leading to the identification of 13 QTLs for RBSDV resistance. Among them, qRBSDV-4.2 and qRBSDV-6.3 were detected at both locations, suggesting their resistance stability against environmental influence. Field disease evaluations showed that qRBSDV-6.3 significantly reduces RBSDV disease severity by 20%. Furthermore, introgression of qRBSDV-6.3 into two susceptible rice cultivars by marker-assisted selection demonstrated the effectiveness of qRBSDV-6.3 in enhancing RBSDV resistance. Conclusions: The new resistant cultivars and QTLs against RBSDV disease identified in this study provide important information and genetic materials for the cloning of RBSDV resistance genes as well as developing RBSDV resistant varieties through marker-assisted selection. Hermansky–Pudlak syndrome is a rare, autosomal, recessive syndromic form of albinism characterized by oculocutaneous albinism, bleeding diathesis, and a series of clinical complications. It is rarely reported in China, even with its large population base. In this study, we describe the clinical phenotypes and genotypes of five unrelated Chinese Hermansky–Pudlak syndrome pedigrees following clinical observation and next-generation sequencing. We identified three HPS-1 and two HPS-6 cases among 548 Chinese patients with oculocutaneous albinism. Five novel variants [c.1279_1280insGGAG p.(Asp427Glyfs*27) and c.875_878delACAG p.(Asp292Alafs*38) in HPS1 and c.1999C>T p.(Arg667*), c.335G>A p.(W112*), and c.1732C>T p.(R578*) in HPS6 ] were identified by next-generation sequencing. Our findings expand the spectrum of known variants and the genetic background of Hermansky–Pudlak syndrome, which may help in investigating phenotype–genotype relationships and aid in genetic counselling of patients with Hermansky–Pudlak syndrome. Mitochondrial DNA mutations play an important role in hereditary hearing loss. The present study aimed at identifying more novel genetic variants of mitochondrial DNA. Complete Mitochondrial genomes were detected in 97 Northwestern Chinese probands with non-syndromic hearing loss and 376 control subjects. The variants were evaluated for the pathogenicity using the following criteria: (1) present in <1% of the controls, (2) evolutional conservation, (3) potential structural and functional alterations. Mutational analysis in probands identified 706 variants, including 180 variants in the D loop region, 27 variants in the 12S rRNA gene, 29 variants in the 16S rRNA gene, 122 missense variants and 312 silent variants in the protein coding gene, 29 variants in the tRNA genes and 7 variants in the non-coding region. After further analysis assessed for the potential structural and functional significance, we identified 5 new candidate variants for hearing loss: 12S rRNA1473C>T, tRNA Phe 614A>C, tRNA Lys 8339A>G, ND1 3866T>C and non-coding 5656A>G. Our findings may provide the role of these genes in hearing loss development in China and valuable information for the further understanding of pathogenic mechanism of hearing loss. The fall armyworm (FAW), Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith), is one of the most highly polyphagous invasive pests causing serious damage to maize crops in China. However, little is known about the gut immune responses to the environment, particularly along the migration routes in Jianghuai, China, throughout the autumn and winter. In this study, high-throughput sequencing and real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) were employed to examine the variations in immune genes and gut microbiome communities between captive and wild fall armyworm populations. Results showed that the diversity and community of the gut's microbes were higher in wild populations, and the average weighted UniFrac distance between bacterial taxa varied. A wide variety of immune genes were more abundant in the wild populations than in others. Results indicated that diets and different survival conditions impacted the gut microbiota and immune system of S. frugiperda , which was crucial for environmental adaptation. These differences in gut microbiota and immune responses between wild and captive Fall armyworms are critical for comprehending the symbiotic relationship between microbes, immune genes, and hosts. Abstract: Near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy was applied to quantitative analyses of 27 chemical components in Chinese southwest tobacco including routine chemical components, aromatic constituents, inorganic nutrients and heavy metals. The quantitative calibration models of these constituents were established by PLS regression. The result showed that the predicted values of seven routine chemical components and the measured values have remarkable correlation. The RSEP of measured and predicted values of aroma constituents was under 10%. The SEP of volatile alkaloids was 0.0116, which can be applied to rapid determination. The RPD of Mo, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn were all over 3.00. The determination coefficients (R 2) of the models of other inorganic nutrients were above 70%. Moreover, the NIR spectroscopy was firstly utilized to determine the content of heavy metals in tobacco in this research, the results of which suggested that the models can be used for rapid prediction of the heavy metals. Low NO x burner together with air-staging system are commonly used in coal-fired power plants in China to reduce NO x emission. However, severe high-temperature corrosion on the water-cooled wall have occurred frequently, because this combustion system result in fuel-rich atmosphere in the main combustion zone and generates a large amount of CO and H 2 S, which is the main reason for the high-temperature corrosion in the furnace. Near-wall air (NWA) is an economical and effective way to reduce the concentration of CO and H 2 S. There are two common NWA arrangement, one position is on the side walls, the other is on the front and rear walls. This study numerically investigated the effects of NWA positions on the high-temperature corrosion and combustion of a 1000 MWth opposed wall-fired boiler for better solution of the high-temperature corrosion. The numerical models were validated by the measured data of CO concentration on the side walls. Then the effect of NWA position and NWA ratios (0–1%) on the reducing atmosphere, combustion, and NO generation were numerically studied. The results show that both NWA positions have no effect on the reducing atmosphere and combustion condition when the NWA ratio is lower than 0.5%, but it works when the ratio increase to more than 0.5%. Moreover, it is recommended to arrange NWA on the side walls with the NWA ratio at 1% for better controlling the high-temperature corrosion problems and maintaining good combustion conditions simultaneously, since the concentrations of CO and H 2 S near side walls were significantly decreased. Introduction and Hypothesis: Identifying the factors influencing the development of female urinary incontinence (UI) may facilitate early intervention, potentially delaying its progression. This study was aimed at investigating the impact of lifestyle habits on the severity of UI among women in East China., Methods: This study included 414 women from six communities in East China who reported symptoms of UI and was conducted between September and December 2020. Data were collected using a general information questionnaire, the Toileting Behaviours: Women's Elimination Behaviours scale, and the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Urinary Incontinence Short Form Chinese Version. Participants were categorised into two groups: those with mild UI and those with moderate-to-severe UI. Propensity-score matching was performed to balance confounding factors, and logistic regression was used to explore the relationship between lifestyle behaviours and UI severity., Results: A total of 117 pairs were successfully matched. Logistic regression analysis revealed that daily perineal cleaning significantly protected against moderate-to-severe UI (p < 0.05). Conversely, living alone, poor sleep quality and hovering over the toilet while voiding were identified as independent risk factors for moderate-to-severe UI (p < 0.05)., Conclusion: Several lifestyle habits significantly impact the severity of UI among adult women. Objective: While there are various health literacy scales that exist, none of health literacy scale suitable for pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). To address this gap, this study aimed to develop GDM health literacy scale and evaluate its psychometric properties., Methods: Based on the Delphi expert consultation, we developed the initial GDM health literacy scale. Item analysis was taken using a sample (n = 299) recruited in China to form formal scale. Additional participants (n = 395) completed survey to assess the internal consistency reliability, test-retest reliability, content validity, construct validity and criterion correlation validity of scale., Results: The scale performed well in terms of internal consistency reliability, content validity, construct validity and criterion correlation validity. Test-retest reliability indicated that the instrument was effective at measuring health literacy of GDM over time., Conclusion: The scale is a reliable and valid measure of six domains of health literacy for GDM., Practice Implications: The scale can be used to effectively evaluate the level of health literacy of pregnant women with GDM. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are widely used due to their unique structure and excellent performance, while also posing threats on ecosystem, especially long-chain perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA). As the control of conventional PFASs, fluoroalkylether substances (ether-PFASs) as alternatives are constantly emerging. Subsequently, the three representative ether-PFASs, chlorinated polyfluoroalkyl ether sulfonic acid (F-53B), hexafluoropropylene oxide-dimer acid (HFPO-DA), and 4,8-Dioxa-3H-perfluorononanoicacid (ADONA) are discovered and have received more attention in the environment and ecosystem. But their security is now also being challenged. This review systematically assesses their security from six dimensions including environmental occurrence in water, soil and atmosphere, as well as bioaccumulation and risk in plants, animals and humans. High substitution level is observed for F-53B, whether in environment or living things. Like PFOS or even more extreme, F-53B exhibits high biomagnification ability, transmission efficiency from maternal to infant, and various biological toxicity effects. HFPO-DA still has a relatively low substitution level for PFOA, but its use has emerged in Europe. Although it is less detected in human bodies and has a higher metabolic rate than PFOA, the strong migration ability of HFPO-DA in plants may pose dietary safety concerns for humans. Research on ADONA is limited, and currently, it is detected in Germany frequently while remaining at trace levels globally. Evidently, F-53B has shown increasing risk both in occurrence and toxicity compared to PFOS, and HFPO-DA is relatively safe based on available data. Background: At present, there are no available genetic data on the AGCU EX22 Kit from the Wuhu Han population., Aim: This study investigates the applicability of the AGCU EX22 kit, designed for the Chinese population for forensic analysis and population genetics of the Wuhu Han population., Subjects and Methods: Bloodstains from 1565 unrelated healthy individuals in Wuhu city, Anhui Province, were collected for analysis. The AGCU EX22 kit was used for amplification, and capillary electrophoresis was used to separate the amplification products. Allele frequencies and forensic parameters were determined. The Wuhu Han population was compared to 10 reference populations through genetic distance, a phylogenetic neighbor-joining tree and principal component analysis., Results: In total, 281 alleles and 1187 genotypes were observed. No significant deviations from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium at any locus were found after Bonferroni's correction. The 21 autosomal short tandem repeat (STR) genetic markers exhibited high informativeness and polymorphism. The cumulative power of discrimination and power of exclusion were 0.999999999999999999999999913380 and 0.999999996752339, respectively. Population comparisons revealed a genetic affinity between Wuhu Han and southern Han populations, except for the Guangdong Han population, which aligned with the traditional geographical division in China., Conclusion: The AGCU EX22 Kit, containing 21 STR loci, is suitable for forensic application and population genetics studies in the Wuhu Han population.

Background: Healthy diet is essential for cardiovascular disease risk management, but its effects among Chinese patients, whose diets differ from Western diets, remain largely unknown., Methods: In this multicenter, patient- and outcome assessor-blind, randomized controlled feeding trial, 265 Chinese adults with baseline systolic blood pressure 130 to 159 mmHg were randomly assigned into Chinese heart-healthy (CHH) diet or usual diet for a 28-d intervention after a 7-d run-in period on usual diet. Blood lipids and glucose were measured from overnight fasting blood samples before and after the intervention. Ten-year cardiovascular disease risk was estimated using models previously developed and validated in Chinese. The changes in secondary outcomes of serum total cholesterol (TC), blood glucose, and 10-y cardiovascular disease risk over the intervention period were compared between intervention groups, adjusting for center, among participants with baseline and follow-up blood samples available. Sensitivity analyses were done with further adjustment for baseline values and covariables; missing data imputed; and among per-protocol population., Results: Among 256 eligible participants (130 on CHH diet, 126 on control diet), 42% had hypercholesterolemia and 15% had diabetes at baseline. In the control group, TC and 10-y cardiovascular disease risk decreased after the intervention by 0.16 mmol/L and 0.91%, respectively, but blood glucose increased by 0.25 mmol/L. Compared with usual diet, the CHH diet lowered TC (-0.14 mmol/L, P = 0.017) and 10-y cardiovascular disease risk (-1.24%, P = 0.001) further. No effect on blood glucose was found. All sensitivity analyses confirmed the results on TC and 10-y cardiovascular disease risk, and analysis with multiple variables adjusted showed a borderline significant effect on blood glucose (-0.17 mmol/L, P = 0.051). The differences in intake of nutrients and food groups between intervention groups explained the results., Conclusions: The CHH diet reduced TC and 10-y cardiovascular disease risk and was likely to reduce blood glucose among Chinese adults with mild hypertension. As the third pole of the world and Asia's water tower, the Tibetan Plateau experiences daily release of pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs) due to increasing human activity. This study aimed to explore the potential relationship between the concentration and composition of PPCPs and human activity, by assessing the occurrence of PPCPs in areas of typical human activity on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and evaluating their ecological risk. The results indicate that 28 out of 30 substances were detected in concentrations ranging from less than 1 ng/L to hundreds of ng/L, with the average concentration of most PPCPs in the Tibet Autonomous Region being higher than that in Qinghai Province. Among the detected substances, CAF, NOR, CTC, CIP, TCN, OTC, AZN, and DOX accounted for over 90% of the total concentration. The emission sources of PPCPs were identified by analyzing the correlation coefficients of soil and water samples, with excess PPCPs used by livestock breeding discharged directly into soil and then into surface water through leaching or runoff. By comparing the concentration and composition of PPCPs with those in other regions, this study found that CIP, ENR, LOM, NOR, CTC, DOX, OTC, and TCN were the most commonly used PPCPs in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. To assess the ecological risk of PPCPs, organisms at different trophic levels, including algae, crustaceans, fish, and insects, were selected. The prediction of the no effect concentration of each PPCP showed that NOR, CTC, TCN, CAF, and CBZ may have deleterious effects on water biota.
