Most family-system research on triangulation processes has been undertaken in the West, with little known about this family dynamic in the East. The present cross-sectional study analysed 1,073 Chinese 3rd-12th-graders' self-reported exposure to three kinds of triangulation--cross-generation coalition, scapegoating, and parentification--in relation to family and child factors and with respect to children's school and social adjustment. Age-related analyses generally indicated that older children were less frequently exposed to all three dimensions of triangulation than younger ones. Children residing with only their parents experienced more scapegoating than those living in extended families; and boys were exposed to cross-generation coalition and scapegoating more than were girls. Higher levels of coalition and scapegoating exposure were related to poorer school adjustment and greater depression of children. Higher levels of parentification exposure, however, were associated with better school adjustment and social functioning. Findings are discussed in terms of theory and research on parent-child triangulation and cultural differences between East and West.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic on dizziness/vertigo outpatients in a neurological clinic in China. Methods: Against the background of the COVID-19 epidemic, the data of patients who visited the neurological clinic of Beijing Chaoyang Hospital West Branch during the pandemic (February 1–May 30, 2020) and the corresponding period in 2019 (February 1–May 30, 2019) were analyzed, and patients with dizziness/vertigo from these two periods were compared to discover their demographic features and etiologic distribution according to their age and sex. Result: The absolute number of neurological outpatients decreased from 14,670 in 2019 to 8,763 in 2020 (−40.3%), with a corresponding decline in dizziness/vertigo patients (2019: n = 856; 2020: n = 1,436, −40.4%). Dizziness/vertigo was more common in women than men in these two periods (2019: women = 63.6%; 2020: women = 63.1%, p = 0.82). The overall etiology distribution was different among all disorders between the two periods (p < 0.001). There was an increase in benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) (2019 vs. 2020: 30.7 vs. 35%, p < 0.05) and psychogenic/persistent postural perceptual dizziness (PPPD) (2019 vs. 2020: 28.5 vs. 34.6%, p < 0.05) while a decrease in vascular vertigo during the epidemic (2019 vs. 2020: 13 vs. 9.6%, p < 0.05). During the epidemic, the top three causes of dizziness/vertigo were BPPV (35%), psychogenic/PPPD (34.6%), and vascular vertigo (9.6%). A female predominance was observed in BPPV (women = 67.7%, p < 0.05) and psychogenic/PPPD (women = 67.6%, p < 0.05). In addition, the etiology ratio of different age groups was significantly different (p < 0.001). The most common cause for young and young-old patients was BPPV, and the most common cause for middle-aged and old-old patients was psychogenic/PPPD. Conclusion: The absolute number of outpatients with dizziness/vertigo during the COVID-19 pandemic was reduced during the early period of the COVID-19 outbreak. BPPV and psychogenic/PPPD were more abundant, and vascular vertigo was less frequent. Based on those data, health-care management policy for dizziness/vertigo and mental disorder should be developed during the outbreak of COVID-19 and other infective diseases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The efficient integration of renewable energy with hydrogen storage is an important means for China to achieve carbon neutrality. Concentrated solar power (CSP) is an emerging technology for solar energy utilization that combines the advantages of power generation and energy storage. However, CSP has not been fully exploited because of the high generation cost and an incomplete market mechanism in China. The heat collected by CSP can be utilized for high-temperature electrolytic hydrogen production (HEHP), which is an efficient technology for hydrogen production and storage, and reducing carbon emission. Thus, a low-carbon operating mode for an integrated energy system (IES) consisting of wind, solar and hydrogen energy is proposed in this paper. First, an optimal operation model of electricity-heat-hydrogen coupling for an IES containing CSP and HEHP is established. Second, the effect of CSP with HEHP on the total operation performance of the system is evaluated from the aspects of the system economy, renewable energy utilization, and carbon emission. Finally, the model is validated by a case study of an island IES, and an optimal sizing for hydrogen energy storage and thermal energy storage of CSP is determined. The results show that CSP with HEHP can effectively improve the utilization rate of solar energy and reduce the carbon emissions of the system, offering an approach for carbon reduction planning and the operation of CSP in electric-hydrogen energy systems. BACKGROUND This study aimed to identify significantly altered circRNAs/lncRNAs/miRNAs/mRNAs pathways in preeclampsia (PE), investigate their target relationships, and determine their biological functions. MATERIAL AND METHODS Base on RNA-seq technique and the GEO database, expression profiles of circRNAs/lncRNAs/miRNAs/mRNAs related to PE were obtained. Differentially expressed RNAs were determined using the Limma package in R. Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) was performed using GSEA software (v. 3.0) and illustrated by ClusterProfiler and ggplot2 package in R. DAVID database (v. 6.8) was implemented to analyze functional categories and the association between genes and the corresponding Gene Ontology (GO) classification. The R visualization package GOPlot was used to get a better visualization of the relationships between genes and the selected functional categories. CeRNA networks which visualized the correlations between circRNA/lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA were constructed using Cytoscape software (v. 3.6.0). Targetscan and miRanda database were used to predict target relationships between circRNA/lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA. QRT-PCR and luciferase reporter assay were used to verify the expression and target relationship of has&#95;circ&#95;0088196/LINC01492/miR-100-5p/LIF (leukemia inhibitory factor). RESULTS The jak-stat signaling pathway was activated and miR-100-5p was downregulated in PE compared with normal tissues both in collected placental tissue samples and GEO database. Upregulated LIF, LINC01492, and hsa&#95;circ&#95;0088196 were negatively correlated with miR-100-5p expression and had a targeted relationship with miR-100-5p. CONCLUSIONS miR-100-5p may suppress PE development, while LIF, LINC01492, and hsa&#95;circ&#95;0088196 may promote it though inhibiting miR-100-5p. The jak-stat signaling pathway was activated and involved in PE progression.
