Purpose: To evaluate measurement properties of the Impact of Weight on Quality of Life-Lite (IWQOL-Lite) instrument among Chinese overweight and obese populations. Methods: A representative sample of Chinese overweight and obese populations was recruited stratified by age, sex, residence and body mass index (BMI). Social-demographic characteristics, self-reported EQ-5D-5 L and IWQOL-Lite responses were collected through the online survey. Test-retest reliability was assessed using intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) among a subgroup of the total sample. Structural validity was evaluated by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Convergent validity and known-group validity were examined using Spearman's rank correlation and effect sizes, respectively. Results: A total of 1000 respondents (48% female; mean age: 51.7 years; mean BMI: 27.4) were included in this study. Ceiling and floor effects of the IWQOL-Lite were 5.4% and 0.67%, respectively. The ICC between the two tests was 0.992 for IWQOL-Lite among the subgroup (N = 150). The results of the CFA suggested that the five-factor model had an acceptable structural validity (GFI = 0.894, CFI = 0.960, TLI = 0.957, RMSEA = 0.054 and SRMR = 0.033). The Spearman's rank correlation (range: 0.413–0.611) indicated a satisfactory convergent validity. The effect sizes values of IWQOL-Lite total score and different dimensions were moderate. Conclusions: The IWQOL-Lite has been demonstrated to have satisfactory validity and reliability in measuring the HRQoL of Chinese overweight and obese populations. Further research is needed to confirm the sensitivity and responsiveness. Objective: To evaluate and compare the measurement properties and consistency between the Chinese versions of EQ-5D-3L and EQ-5D-Y-3L among Chinese adolescent populations aged 15–17 years. Methods: Chinese adolescents aged 15–17 studying in high school were recruited through online survey. Social-demographic characteristics and self-reported EQ-5D-3L and EQ-5D-Y-3L responses were collected in the survey. The consistency of responses between the two measures was assessed using redistribution property, and the consistency of utility values was assessed by intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC). Convergent validity and known-group validity were examined using Spearman's rank correlation, F-test and effect sizes, respectively. Sensitivity was compared using relative efficiency (RE). Results: 762 respondents (48.8% male; age 15–17 years;) were recruited. The EQ-5D-3L showed a more severe ceiling effect than EQ-5D-Y-3L (78.2% vs. 66.0%). Respondents reported higher proportions of having problems in four dimensions using the EQ-5D-Y-3L than using the EQ-5D-3L. The consistency of corresponding dimensions between the two measures was relatively good, while non-negligible proportions of inconsistency were observed in "pain/discomfort" (11.4%) and "anxiety/depression" (15.7%) dimensions. The ICC of the utility values between the EQ-5D-3L and EQ-5D-Y-3L was 0.852 (p < 0.001). The Spearman's rank correlation (range: 0.385–0.620) indicated an acceptable convergent validity between the correlative dimensions of the EQ-5D-3L and EQ-5D-Y-3L. The EQ-5D-Y-3L had a higher efficiency than the EQ-5D-3L at detecting differences across EQ VAS subgroups (ES = 1.793 for EQ-5D-3L, ES = 1.920 for EQ-5D-Y-3L). Mixed results were observed in sensitivity. Conclusions: Both the EQ-5D-3L and EQ-5D-Y-3L are demonstrated to be valid and generally consistent for measuring HRQoL among adolescents aged 15–17 years in China. Respondents reported higher proportions of having problems using the EQ-5D-Y-3L than using the EQ-5D-3L. Background: Dementia will likely be an ongoing concern for future generations, and according to the World Health Organization, two‐thirds of dementia cases are missed diagnoses. We aimed to explore the attitudes of older adults toward dementia screening and the related influencing factors. Methods: A multicentre cross‐sectional study was conducted. Data were collected using questionnaires between 2020 December and 2021 June from five provinces in China. The study included older adults aged 60 years or older, living in China. A sociodemographic questionnaire and the Perceptions Regarding Investigational Screening for Memory in Primary Care scale were used to assess attitudes toward and influencing factors of dementia screening. Results: A total of 279 participants completed the questionnaires. The results revealed housing status as a positive factor in the acceptance dimension, while high income was the primary positive factor in the benefits of screening dimension. Having religious beliefs, low income, and never participating in social activities were positive factors for the stigma dimension. Widowed marital status and participation in social activities were negative factors for the independence dimension, while having religious beliefs positively influenced the suffering dimension. Conclusions: This study showed that participants held a relatively positive attitude toward dementia screening, although they had concerns about stigma and negative impact on independence. Further studies are required to develop intervention strategies to help older adults improve their attitudes and quality of life, promote cognitive health, and facilitate healthy ageing. Background: HSCT is the only proven curative therapy for JMML. Matching donor and recipient HLA alleles is considered optimal to reduce the risk of GVHD after HSCT but is not always possible. Only a limited number of studies have compared the influence of HLA disparities on HSCT outcomes for patients with JMML. Methods: We conducted a retrospective study among 47 children with JMML who received related or unrelated unmanipulated HSCT (March 2010‐October 2018). Among our participants, 27 (57.4%) donor‐recipient pairs had 0‐1 HLA disparities (Group 1: HLA‐matched or ≤1 allele/antigen mismatch donor) and 20 (42.6%) had ≥2 HLA disparities (Group 2: 2‐3 mismatched/haploidentical donors). Results: The median follow‐up period was 26.0 months (range: 1‐105 months), and the 5‐year probabilities of DFS and RI for the whole cohort were 54.6 ± 7.7% and 34.8 ± 15.0%, respectively. Compared to Group 1, Group 2 patients had a significantly lower RI (5.3 ± 10.5% vs 55.5 ± 20.9%, P ˂.001), though similar rates of grade II–IV acute GVHD (60.0 ± 22.4% vs 33.3 ± 18.2%, P =.08), grade III–IV acute GVHD (25.0 ± 19.5% vs 7.4 ± 10.1%, P =.08), chronic GVHD (30.0 ± 20.9% vs 34.9 ± 18.8%, P =.85), NRM (20.0 ± 18.0% vs 3.9 ± 7.7%, P =.07), and DFS (74.4 ± 9.9% vs 41.3 ± 10.0%, P =.08). Conclusions: Disease relapse remains the major cause of treatment failure in JMML patients, especially in patients receiving HLA‐matched and limited HLA‐mismatched HSCT. Background: The outbreak of COVID-19 in China was a sudden bio-disaster, which may bring a negative impact on the job burnout of health care professionals (HCPs). Objective: We aim to find out the association factors, especially those closely related to this outbreak, of job burnout in Chinese HCPs. Method: The cross-sectional survey about HCPs' job burnout based on a network platform was conducted in high and low infection regions during the COVID-19 outbreak in China. The demographic characteristics, medical-work-related factors, risk of getting infected due to occupational exposure, and family factors were collected by the self-reported questionnaire. The Chinese version of the Maslach Burnout Inventory (CMBI) and the Trait Coping Style Questionnaire (TCSQ) were employed in this study to evaluate the job burnout and coping style, respectively. Furthermore, statistical analysis was done to find out the associated factors of job burnout. Results: We collected 880 complete questionnaires from doctors and nurses from February 9, 2020 to February 11, 2020. In this study, the positive rates of three dimensions of burnout (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment) and overall burnout were 9.09, 50.57, 56.59, and 73.98%, respectively. After the statistical analysis, we found that several factors can independently affect the dimensions. Working in the high infection region and negative coping styles can affect all three dimensions at once. More night shift quantity and having symptoms could increase emotional exhaustion and depersonalization, while higher work intensity and senior title could increase emotional exhaustion and reduce personal accomplishment, respectively. Conclusion: The rate of moderate and severe burnout had increased due to the outbreak. More attention should be paid to burnout in HCPs, especially those with negative coping. • The direction of land reuse can be well connected with China's territorial spatial planning. • Five directions for transformation towards green development are proposed in a post-mining area. • This research provides a new case study for land reclamation in karst mountainous mining areas. • When selecting indexes for land reuse, greater attention is paid to future human activities. In the context of China's high-quality green development, the elimination of backward production capacity presents ecological, social, and economic challenges in mining areas. This study focuses on the southern four towns of Qijiang, representing a former coal mining region in the southwestern mountainous area of China. Our objective is to identify reliable parameters for assessing the suitability of land reuse for agricultural, ecological and construction purposes, aiming to propose a viable approach for green transformation and development. To address this, we established an evaluation indicator system employing the Pressure-State-Response (PSR) model. Additionally, the Projection Pursuit (PP) model, enhanced by the Sparrow Search Algorithm (SSA), was introduced to measure land reuse suitability. A framework based on a three-dimensional cube was utilized to identify the most suitable future land reuse, and the hotspot analysis method was employed to identify spatial clustering. The results indicated that agricultural and ecological land exhibit high suitability, contrasting with relatively lower suitability for construction land in the study area. Specifically, regions suitable for agricultural land spanned 321.73 km2, concentrated in Ganshui, Anwen, and Shihao Towns. Ecologically suitable areas covered 139.47 km2, centered in the central part of Anwen Town and the western part of Datong Town. Construction land suitability was mainly observed in Datong Town, covering 66.84 km2. Based on these findings, development strategies for future land reuse to facilitate green transformation were further discussed in this study. Quercus chungii F.P.Metcalf, a rare oak with endemic to southern China, belongs to the compound trichome base (CTB) lineage in the Cyclobalanopsis section. The complete chloroplast genome of the species was assembled and annotated in this study. The circular genome was 160,731 bp in size, presenting a typical quadripartite structure including one large single-copy region (LSC, 90,140 bp), one small single-copy region (SSC, 18,911 bp), and two copies of inverted repeat regions (IRs, 25,840 bp). It encoded a total of 113 unique genes, including 79 protein-coding genes, 30 tRNA genes, and four rRNA genes. The maximum-likelihood (ML) phylogenetic tree reconstructed by IQ-TREE indicated that Q. chungii was more closely related to Q. myrsinifolia and Q. sichourensis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Currently, the main remote sensing-based crop mapping methods are based on spectral-temporal features. However, there has been a lack research on the selection of the multi-temporal images, and most of the methods are based on the use of all the available images during the cycle of crop growth. In this study, in order to explore the optimal temporal window for crop mapping with limited remote sensing data, we tested all possible combinations of temporal windows in an exhaustive manner, and made a comprehensive consideration of the spatial accuracy and statistical accuracy as evaluation indices. We collected all the available cloud-free Sentinel-2 multi-spectral images for the winter wheat and rapeseed growth periods in the study area in southern China, and used the random forest (RF) method as the classifier to identify the optimal temporal window. The spatial and statistical accuracies of all the results were assessed by using ground survey data and local agricultural census data. The optimal temporal window for the mapping of winter wheat and rapeseed in the study area was obtained by identifying the best-performing set of results. In addition, the variable importance (VI) index was used to evaluate the importance of the different bands for crop mapping. The results of the spatial accuracy, statistical accuracy, and the VI showed that the combinations of images from the later stages of crop growth were more suitable for crop mapping. Objective measurement of the supply-demand of ecosystem services (ESs) has received increasing attention from recent studies. It reflects the relationship between green spaces and human society. However, these studies rarely assess the mountainous cities. To fill this gap, this study takes a typical mountainous city as a research case to reveal the supply-demand relationship of ecosystem services, then development and management strategies are proposed for different districts according to their spatial differentiation characteristics. Results shows that: (1) there are differences of ESs supply between each district, and supply from Banan District is significantly higher than others. (2) The demands for ES also vary widely, which are higher in the core urban areas. (3) There are different degrees of imbalance between supply and demand in each district. We classified green spaces into four types based on their supply-demand characteristics, and optimization strategies are proposed. We found that most of the districts are lack of ES supply while there is a relatively high demand for ES in Chongqing, and the balance of supply and demand between different districts varies greatly. Our study indicates that targeted urban green spaces strategies for different districts must be considered to adequately optimize ES in mountainous cities.

Background: To evaluate the prognostic factors and outcomes in Chinese children undergoing unrelated donor hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (UDT)., Methods: Retrospective analysis of clinical data from 53 consecutive children who received UDT from November 2002 to December 2007 in our center., Results: The median recipient age was 8.4 years (range 1.5-21). With a median follow-up of 36 months (range 18-80), the probability of 3-year overall survival (OS) was 71.5%. Treatment-related mortality (TRM) was 19.0%, and 9.5% died after post-transplant leukemia relapse. Incidence of grades I-II, III-IV acute and chronic graft versus host disease (GVHD) was 63%, 29%, and 46%. There was significant difference in OS between patients older or younger than 10 years (50.0% vs. 84.8%, P = 0.003), patients with different underlying diseases (ALL, AML, CML, and non-malignant disease: 36.4%, 80.0%, 61.5%, and 100%, P = 0.001) and patients receiving either HLA 0-1 versus 2-3 loci high-resolution mismatched UDT (83.3% vs. 53.3%, P = 0.034). The OS was not affected by the stem cell source (peripheral stem cell 70.3%, bone marrow 87.5% vs. cord blood 62.5%, P = 0.542) or the severity of acute GVHD (grade 0-II 77.8% vs. grade III-IV 60.0%, P = 0.140)., Conclusions: The important prognostic factors for OS after UDT were the degree of HLA match, the age of patient and the type of underlying disease. Patients < 10-year with non-malignant disease receiving 0-1 locus high-resolution mismatched UDT had the most favorable outcomes.

Russian field surgery with its long history and distinctive characteristics has accumulated great experience in the long-time practice of warfare. Chinese field surgery was established and developed on the basis of studying from the Russian model, which opened up new areas of traffic medicine, molecular traumatology and assessment of biological effects on weapon destruction and carried out in-depth research on wound ballistics, blast injury, burns and combined injury etc. through decades of construction with continuous development and innovation, and a series of major achievements have been made in these fields. By making comparative study on the historical evolution, structure system, characteristics of campaigns and development of society between Chinese and Russian field surgery, it can be found that there are great gaps between them and we should strengthen the research for more rapid development.

Objective: To improve the treatment outcome of children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a modified induction chemotherapy between the two protocols used to treat children with ALL in Shanghai Children's Medical Center., Methods: From Jan. 1st, 1999 to Mar. 1st, 2006, 311 patients with newly diagnosed childhood ALL, who underwent induction chemotherapy for over 10 days, were eligible for analysis. Group 99 (n = 243) patients who were admitted before May 1st, 2005, were treated with ALL-XH-99 Protocol, whereas 68 patients admitted afterwards, defined as Group 05, were treated with ALL Protocol 2005 which was based on ALL-XH-99 Protocol but the treatment intensity was reduced to decrease treatment associated mortality. Clinically, the distributions of the initial data from the patients, treatment responses, complete remission rates after therapy, and treatment-associated infections in the two groups were evaluated., Results: Patients from the two groups obtained similar complete remission rate (91.8% vs. 95.6%, P = 0.29), while patients from Group 05 were benefited more from their therapy. They had lower therapy associated infection rate (23.5% vs. 54.7% in Group 99, P < 0.01), and no severe infection (0 vs. 9.1% in Group 99) and no infection related death occurred (0 vs. 3.7% in Group 99). Patients in the Group 05 also had shortened period from the beginning day of the initial therapy to complete remission (32.34 +/- 3.36 days vs. 34.18 +/- 4.96 days, P < 0.01)., Conclusions: ALL Protocol 2005 had the same efficacy as ALL-XH-99 Protocol had in the induction therapy in treating children with ALL, but it was safer than ALL-XH-99.

To investigate the potential role of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection in the pathogenesis of esophageal carcinomas in the Anyang area of China, we have evaluated specimens collected by balloon cytology examination from volunteers in two regions with significantly different incidences of esophageal carcinoma. 138 donors were from a village in a county with an esophageal carcinoma (EC) age-adjusted mortality rate of 132x10(5), the remaining 68 were resident in a second village from another county with an EC mortality rate of 52x10(5). Specimens were evaluated using both polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification and in situ hybridization (ISH) protocols. PCR results showed that the prevalence of the human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV-16) E6 gene in the high incidence area was 1.9-fold higher than that of the low incidence area (72 and 37%, respectively, P < 0.01). Moreover, the positive rate corresponded with pathology grade. Similar results were obtained with the HPV-16 E7 gene. As the cells undergoing cytopathological progress, the HPV-16 E6 positive rate was increased, in both villages. In contrast to HPV-16 E6 and E7, detection of the HPV L1 gene was consistently lower, and its prevalence decreased with increasing dysplasia grades (P < 0.05). By ISH analyses, the expression rate of HPV-16 E6 in the specimens collected from the high incidence area was 2.2-fold higher than those from the low incidence area (49 versus 22%, respectively; P < 0.05), and transcription of the E6 gene paralleled cytopathology. HPV-18 was also detected in 17 and 15% of the specimens from the high and low incidence areas, respectively, but most of these samples were also simultaneously HVP-16 positive.
