In 2013 China announced the "One Belt and One Road" policy, including the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the"21st Century Maritime Silk Road." The purpose of the two plans aims to establish a new connection of trade transportation between China, Central Asia and Europe, "this is by far the most massive regional infrastructure plans we have seen." In 2015 China again proposed the "Made in China 2025" plan,which identifies "smart manufacturing" and applies technology innovation as the core development of equipment manufacturing, and thereby implementing major projects such as the national manufacturing innovation center. Nonetheless the predicament of industrial OEM model and the invasion from the rise of the red supply chain in China have led to considerably urgent demand for transition of manufacturing industry. The study objects comprise of manufacturers in transition to manufacturing servitization under the strong advocacy by Taiwan and applies TAM model to verify the user intention and suggestions for manufacturers in such innovative product development model. This conclusion is in accord with previous studies on new product development thinking model, which suggests that when users perceive ease of use and ease of learning, the innovative product development model will be considered to help performance improvement. The model allows first-line and entry-level employees to comprehend and understand the key execution, which is the best solution for perceived usefulness in supporting attitudes toward use and reducing risk concern factors.

Background: Mucopolysaccharidosis Type II (MPS II) is a rare, progressive and ultimately fatal X-linked lysosomal storage disorder caused by mutations in the iduronate-2-sulfatase (IDS) gene. This report conducted a retrospective analysis to investigate the clinical characteristics, genotypes and management strategies in a large cohort of Chinese patients with MPS II. Methods: In this study, we explored 130 Chinese patients with MPS II between September 2008 and April 2022. Clinical manifestations, auxiliary examination, IDS pathogenic gene variants and IDS enzyme activity, surgical history were analysed in the study. Results: A total of 130 patients were enrolled and the mean age at diagnosis was 5 years old. This study found the most common symptoms in our patients were clawlike hands, followed by coarse facial features, birthmarks (Mongolian spot), delayed development, inguinal or umbilical hernia. The most commonly cardiac manifestations were valve abnormalities, which were mitral/tricuspid valve regurgitation (71.9%) and aortic/pulmonary valve regurgitation (36.8%). We had found 43 different IDS pathogenic gene variants in 55 patients, included 16 novel variants. The variants were concentrated in exon 9 (20% = 11/55), exon 3 (20% = 11/ 55) and exon 8 (15% = 8/55). A total of 50 patients (38.5%) underwent surgical treatment, receiving a total of 63 surgeries. The average age of first surgery was 2.6 years, and the majority of surgery (85.7%, 54/63) was operated before 4 years old. The most common and earliest surgery was hernia repair. Three patients were died of respiratory failure. Conclusion: This study provided additional information on the clinical, cardiac ultrasound and surgical procedure in MPS II patients. Our study expanded the genotype spectrum of MPS II. Based on these data, characterization of MPS II patients group could be used to early diagnosis and treatment of the disease. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an important part of the medical and health system in China. However, an in-depth understanding of patients' preferences and influencing factors for TCM services within China has yet to be explored in depth. Therefore, this scoping review aims to map out the relevant academic literature on the preferences and influencing factors of patients for TCM in China, identify relevant research gaps, and propose directions for future research in this area of knowledge. This scoping review adopted the protocol of the PRISMA-ScR. Searches in the PubMed, Science Direct, EMBASE, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) databases gleaned 16,552 results that were published from 2010 to 2019 that met pre-set criteria. Of these, 10,732 duplicates were removed, resulting in 5,820 articles being screened by title and abstract. Screening by title and abstract excluded 5,529 articles resulting in 291 articles left for fulltext review. These 291 articles underwent full-text review, resulting in a total of 259 articles being excluded and 32 articles being deemed relevant to this scoping review. All data were charted and analyzed using charting tables to allow data to be mapped out, analyzed for gaps, and for directions for future research to be suggested. The gaps identified include complex factors influence TCM preference among patients in China, present research on TCM preference is neither extensive nor in-depth, low levels of research from the standpoint of personal characteristics as well as treatment process factors and external factors, and insufficient research on the relationship between different factors influencing preference and the complex mechanism of preference formation. Future directions of research include extensive and in-depth research on the relationship between different factors influencing TCM preference, the study of the complex mechanism of TCM preference formation, the influence of personal characteristics on TCM preference, and the complexity of factors that influence TCM preference among patients in China. Examines the economic rationale for vocationalizing secondary education in China by comparing vocational education graduates' and general education graduates' performance in the workplace. Using Beijing Auto Industry Company data, the study found that vocational-technical education graduates engaged in factory work relevant to their previous training were more satisfied and productive than general education graduates. CRF07_BC is one of the most prevalent HIV-1 strains in China, which contributes over one-third of the virus transmissions in the country. In general, CRF07_BC is associated with slower disease progression, while the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Our study focused on envelope proteins (Env) and its V3 loop which determine viral binding to co-receptors during infection of cells. We studied a large dataset of 3,937 env sequences in China and found that CRF07_BC had a unique profile of predominantly single CCR5 tropism compared with CCR5 and CXCR4 dual tropisms in other HIV-1 subtypes. The percentages of the CXCR4-tropic virus in B (3.7%) and CRF01_AE (10.4%) infection are much higher than that of CRF07_BC (0.1%), which is supported by median false-positive rates (FPRs) of 69.8%, 25.5%, and 13.4% for CRF07_BC, B, and CRF01_AE respectively, with a cutoff FPR for CXCR4-tropic at 2%. In this study, we identified the first pure CXCR4-tropic virus from one CRF07_BC-infected patient with an extremely low CD4+T cell count (7 cells/mm³). Structural analysis found that the V3 region of this virus has the characteristic 7T and 25R and a substitution of conserved "GPGQ" crown motif for "GPGH". This study provided compelling evidence that CRF07_BC has the ability to evolve into CXCR4 strains. Our study also lay down the groundwork for studies on tropism switch, which were commonly done for other HIV-1 subtypes, for the long-delayed CRF07_BC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Quantitative point-of-care testing assay for detecting antibodies is critical to COVID-19 control. In this study, we established an up-conversion phosphor technology-based point-of-care testing (UPT-POCT), a lateral flow assay, for rapid COVID-19 diagnosis, as well as prediction of seral neutralizing antibody (NAb) activity and protective effects. Methods: UPT-POCT was developed targeting total antibodies against the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. Using ELISA as a contrast method, we evaluated the quantitation accuracy with NAb and serum samples. Cutoff for serum samples was determined through 70 healthy and 140 COVID-19 patients. We evaluated the cross-reactions with antibodies against other viruses. Then, we performed multi-center clinical trials of UPT-POCT, including 782 patients with 387 clinically confirmed COVID-19 cases. Furthermore, RBD-specific antibody levels were detected using UPT-POCT and microneutralization assay for samples from both patients and vaccinees. Specifically, the antibodies of recovered patients with recurrent positive (RP) reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction test results were discussed. Results: The ratios of signal intensities between the test and control bands on the lateral flow strip, namely, T/C ratios, was defined as the results of UPT-POCT. T/C ratios had excellent correlations with concentrations of NAb, as well as OD values of ELISA for serum samples. The sensitivity and specificity of UPT-POCT were 89.15% and 99.75% for 782 cases in seven hospitals in China, respectively. We evaluated RBD-specific antibodies for 528 seral samples from 213 recovered and 99 RP COVID-19 patients, along with 35 seral samples from inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccinees, and we discovered that the total RBD-specific antibody level indicated by T/C ratios of UPT-POCT was significantly related to the NAb titers in both COVID-19 patients (r = 0.9404, n = 527; ρ = 0.6836, n = 528) and the vaccinees (r = 0.9063, ρ = 0.7642, n = 35), and it was highly relevant to the protection rate against RP (r = 0.9886, n = 312). Conclusion: This study reveals that the UPT-POCT for quantitative detection of total RBD-specific antibody could be employed as a surrogate method for rapid COVID-19 diagnosis and prediction of protective effects. In the desert, plant diaspore spreading usually relies on both external vectors, such as wind, and internal factors, such as diaspore shape. Ammopiptanthus mongolicus is a heterocarpous shrub species in the cold desert in northwest China. Mature pods may have dehisced or not yet dehisced when abscising, and the dehiscent pods may be twisted or flattened. The propagation distances of diaspores might vary due to differences in their buoyancies in upward air and ground friction according to pod shape. The wind tunnel experiments were conducted to measure the horizontal displacement upon fruit dropping (D1) and the wind‐blown distance traveled by a fallen pod (D2) of A. mongolicus. A generalized linear mixed model and generalized linear model were used to test the effects of pod shape, release height, wind speed and ground substrate type on the spread distance of pods. D1 is jointly determined by the effects of release height and pod shape. Wind speed, pod shape and ground substrate type together affect D2. A twisted pod has higher dispersibility than a flat pod, and dehiscent pods spread further than indehiscent ones. The positive correlation of D1 and D2 indicates that the difference in pod shape additively broadens the range of seed‐spreading distance. Differential seed‐spreading properties could be adaptively advantageous to disperse the risks associated with diasporic dissemination compared with the maintenance of a single optimal dissemination characteristic. Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the latest prevalence of hyperuricemia and influencing factors in Chinese rural population. Methods: A survey was conducted from July 2015 to September 2017. A total of 38,855 (15,371 men and 23,484 women) subjects were recruited from the Henan Rural Cohort Study. Hyperuricemia was defined as a serum urate level of >7.0 mg/dL for men and >6.0 mg/dL for women. A meta-analysis of 19 studies that focused on hyperuricemia prevalence was performed to validate the result of the cross-sectional survey. Results: The crude and age-standardized prevalence of hyperuricemia was 10.24% and 12.60%, respectively. The prevalence of hyperuricemia decreased in men with increasing age, but the opposite trend was observed in women. The results of meta-analysis demonstrated that hyperuricemia prevalence in Chinese rural areas was 11.7%, consistent with the result of current survey. Multivariate logistic regression revealed that overweight or obesity, hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, hypoalphalipoproteinemia and high serum creatinine level could increase the risk of hyperuricemia, while high physical activity and fasting plasma glucose were associated with a lower risk of hyperuricemia in all participants. Conclusion: The latest prevalence of hyperuricemia is high in rural China and is associated with multiple factors, indicating that prevention and control strategies for hyperuricemia are needed urgently. In the application of the physical iterative method to retrieve millimeter-wave radar liquid water content (LWC) and liquid water path (LWP), particle parameter scheme is the main factor affecting retrieval performance. In this paper, synchronous measurements of an airborne millimeter-wave radar and a hot-wire probe in stratus cloud are used to compare the LWC retrievals of the oceanic and continental particle parameter scheme with diameter less than 50µm and the particle parameter scheme with diameter less than 500µm and 1500µm (scheme 1, scheme 2, scheme 3, and scheme 4, respectively). The results show that the particle parameter scheme needs to be selected according to the reflectivity factor when using the physical iterative method to retrieve the LWC and LWP. When the reflectivity factor is less than - 30dBZ, the retrieval error of scheme 1 is the minimum. When the reflectivity factor is greater than -30dBZ, the retrieval error of scheme 4 is the minimum. Based on the reflectance factor value, the LWP retrievals of scheme 4 are closer to the measurements, the average relative bias is 5.2%, and the minimum relative bias is 4.4%. Compared with other schemes, scheme 4 seems to be more useful for the LWC and LWP retrieval of stratus cloud in China. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

As an emerging first-tier world power, China is exerting an important influence on countries in the Asia-Pacific region, especially Taiwan, with which it has a long history of often contentious relations. This study investigates the impact of "intergenerational value change" on impressions of China in 2017 among three political birth cohorts of Taiwanese. Based on a representative survey of Taiwanese citizens, the study finds that cohort impressions can be classified according to the extent to which they relate to the economic–political and the social–environmental dimensions, suggesting that Taiwanese perceptions of China are not unidimensional and are more nuanced than they first appear. The data by and large confirm the validity of cohort differences; members of the first and oldest cohort hold more positive impressions of China with respect to social and environmental issues than members of the second and middle cohort, while the third and youngest cohort would regard China in a more positive light if their economic and political concerns were addressed. Chemistry plays an indispensable role in investigations of the atmosphere, however, many climate models either ignore or greatly simplify atmospheric chemistry, limiting both their accuracy and their scope. We present the development and evaluation of the online global atmospheric chemical model BCC-GEOS-Chem v1.0, coupling the GEOS-Chem chemical transport model (CTM) as an atmospheric chemistry component in the Beijing Climate Center atmospheric general circulation model (BCC-AGCM). The GEOS-Chem atmospheric chemistry component includes detailed tropospheric HOx-NOx-VOC-ozone-bromine-aerosol chemistry and online dry and wet deposition schemes. We then demonstrate the new capabilities of BCC-GEOS-Chem v1.0 relative to the base BCC-AGCM model through a three-year (2012-2014) simulation with anthropogenic emissions from the Community Emissions Data System (CEDS) used in the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6). The model well captures the spatial distributions and seasonal variations in tropospheric ozone, with seasonal mean biases of 0.4-2.2 ppbv at 700-400 hPa compared to satellite observations and within 10 ppbv at the surface-500 hPa compared to global ozonesonde observations. The model has larger high ozone biases over the tropics which we attribute to an overestimate of ozone chemical production. It underestimates ozone in the upper troposphere which likely due to either the use of a simplified stratospheric ozone scheme and/or to biases in estimated stratosphere-troposphere exchange dynamics. The model diagnoses the global tropospheric ozone burden, OH concentration, and methane chemical lifetime to be 336 Tg, 1.16 x 106 molecule cm-3, and 8.3 years, respectively, consistent with recent multi-model assessments. The spatiotemporal distributions of NO2, CO, SO2, CH2O, and aerosols optical depth are generally in agreement with satellite observations. In order to analyze the total performance and quality performance of tourism industry, panel data model with fixed effects and quantile regression method were applied to systematically study both the direct and indirect influencing factors from low level to high level under conditional distribution. This article selected China as an example, and the results demonstrated that the improvement of China's tourism industry performance mainly relied on the gradual release from lower elements to higher elements, and that the overall economy strength could be enhanced by increasing capital investment of tourism industry. In addition, the quality construction could be further strengthened with the help of human resources and market system construction; opening level and service level of the economic structure should be paid close attention for more excellent performance. Background: ABO blood type is an established prognostic factor in several malignancies, but its role in esophageal cancer (EC) is largely unknown. The aim of this study is to determine whether ABO blood group is associated with survival after esophagectomy for EC.Methods: A total of 406 patients who underwent surgery for EC were enrolled. The associations of ABO blood group with clinical and pathological variables were assessed using chi-square test. Associations of ABO blood group with the survival were estimated using univariable and multivariable Cox proportional hazards regression models.Results: The ABO blood group proportionally associated with the grade of EC tumor (P = 0.049). The ABO blood group status did not correlate with disease-free survival (DFS) in univariable analysis or multivariable analysis (P > 0.05). And there was no significant relationship between the ABO blood group and overall survival (OS) in univariable analysis or multivariable analysis (P > 0.05).Conclusions: Our results suggested that no association between ABO blood group and the survival was observed in patients undergoing surgery for EC. Stresses of low temperature and weak light are major environmental limiters for horticultural production in greenhouses in northern China during winter and early spring. Grafting is regarded as a promising approach to enhance cucumber tolerance to these environmental stresses. However, it is still unclear why cucumber plants grafted on different rootstocks usually exhibit different tolerance. The responses of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L. cv. 'Xintaimici') seedlings that were grafted on three rootstock cultivars ('Kilameki', 'Tielizhen', and 'Figleaf gourd') to low temperature (5 °C) and weak light (100 μmol m-2 s-1) were investigated in this study. The results showed that, compared to ungrafted seedlings, the electrolytic relative leakage rate and malondialdehyde (MDA) content were significantly reduced in grafted cucumber, especially in 'Figleaf gourd'. Seedlings grafted on 'Figleaf gourd' had the highest proline content, as well as activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and ascorbate peroxidase (APX), followed by 'Tielizhen' and 'Kilameki'. Relative expression of Cu/Zn-SOD, Mn-SOD, and CAT mRNAs was consistent with activities of the corresponding enzymes, and higher levels were found in grafted seedlings, especially in 'Figleaf gourd'. APX activities and the relative expression of APX were also stimulated in grafted seedlings, although their changes were not completely consistent. All evidence indicated that the differences in rootstock-mediated tolerance improvement in cucumber were mainly attributed to the different stimulation of antioxidative defense systems under low temperature and weak light stresses. Four witches'-broom diseases associated with Arachis hypogaea (peanut), Crotalaria pallida, Tephrosia purpurea, and Cleome viscosa were observed in Hainan Province, China during field surveys in 2004, 2005, and 2007. In previously reported studies, we identified these four phytoplasmas as members of subgroup 16SrII-A, and discovered that their 16S rRNA gene sequences were 99.9-100% identical to one another. In this study, we performed extensive phylogenetic analyses to elucidate relationships among them. We analyzed sequences of the 16S rRNA gene and rplV- rpsC, rpoB, gyrB, dnaK, dnaJ, recA, and secY combined sequence data from two strains each of the four phytoplasmas from Hainan province, as well as strains of peanut witches'-broom from Taiwan (PnWB-TW), ' Candidatus Phytoplasma australiense', ' Ca. Phytoplasma mali AT', aster yellows witches'-broom phytoplasma AYWB, and onion yellows phytoplasma OY-M. In the 16S rRNA phylogenetic tree, the eight Hainan strains form a clade with PnWB-TW. Analysis of the seven concatenated gene regions indicated that the four phytoplasmas collected from Hainan province cluster most closely with one another, but are closely related to PnWB-TW. The results of field survey and phylogenetic analysis indicated that Cr. pallida, T. purpurea, and Cl. viscosa may be natural plant hosts of peanut witches'-broom phytoplasma. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: The consumer is assumed rational, and pursuit of self-utility maximization in Western Economics. Along with the rise of China''s mass tourism, the travel consumer group becomes very compelling, but there are lots of criticisms of irrational consumption as follows, blind imitation consumption, vanity consumption, excessive concerning about price, travel space and time selection unreasonable, consumption structure of eating, accommodation, travel, sightseeing, shopping and entertainment is irrational and alienation travel content, tourists are implementers and responsible persons for irrational tourism consumption. The author believes that it is not tourists that should be the main responsible for irrational tourism consumption, which is related to the immaturity of the whole tourism market, national policies and misconduct of tourism enterprises. Improving tourism supply, ensuring reasonable holiday system and establishing tourism center can make tourism consumption more reasonable and healthy. Abstract: In order to seek economic interests, environmental issues are not always the top priority in the hospitality industry in China. This paper develops a model to investigate the influence of the political, economic and cultural context on the environmental awareness and behavior incorporated in Xiamen city, China. To illustrate the differences of the environmental awareness and behavior in hotels in China, 300 hotels were selected, and a total of 451 hotel managers participated in e-mail-based and internet-based survey. The study shows that the managers of hospitality industry generally recognize the need for environmental protection, who is involved in many behaviors and activities. The economic situation and environmental efforts initiated by the government were found to have an impact on certain aspects of hotel managers’ behaviors and activities. The investigation has drawn two conclusions which need to be considered when introducing environmental sustainability into the hospitality industry. The first involves incorporating responsible technical and behavioral practices in the hotels, while the second highlights the necessity of initiating greater demand for “green” practices from the customers. The influence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) gene heterogeneity on the failure of HBV vaccination in eastern China remains unknown. Here, we assigned 78 hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)-carrier mothers to two groups: 41 mothers from whom transmission of HBV to their children was successfully prevented and 37 mothers whose children were HBsAg positive 1 year after HBV vaccination. The DNA loads in mothers of the failure group (4.17E + 07 copies/ml) were significantly higher than those in the success group (8.40E + 06 copies/ml). However, no difference was found in the S gene mutation rate and genotypes between the groups. Interestingly, Thr123Ala and Gly145Arg were observed only in failure-group mothers, whereas Thr126Asn, Thr126Ser, Thr143Asn, Asp144Gly, and Asp144Ala were seen in the success group. Thus, high viral load is an important risk factor for HBV vaccination failure, which is correlated with the positions of mutations in the S gene, but not with mutant frequencies or genotypes. • Geomorphic features reveal a 70-km-long surface rupture within the Fangzhang graben. • Four paleoearthquakes were documented with a long recurrence interval of ~10–20 ka. • Dextral slip rate of the Yilan-Yitong fault zone could be as low as ~0.2–0.3 mm/a. • Active un-ruptured Tanlu fault segments represent a future seismic hazard. • The central newborn faults of strike-slip systems pose a potential seismic hazard. Along the north branch of the Tanlu fault zone (TLFZ), the Yilan-Yitong fault zone (YYFZ) displaces Quaternary geomorphic features, forming a ~70-km-long fresh surface rupture. In this study, we investigated offset landforms and paleoearthquake history by excavating four trenches along the YYFZ within the Fangzheng graben combined with Quaternary dating of landforms and trench horizons. Four paleoearthquakes are identified with their timings constrained at 1730 ± 40 a BP to 770 ± 30 a BP, 28.5 ± 1.2 ka BP to 21.7 ± 0.9 ka BP, 59.4 ± 2.4 ka BP to 33.1 ± 1.1 ka BP, and before 59.4 ± 2.4 ka BP, respectively. Seismic recurrence behavior of the YYFZ follows a quasi-periodic pattern with a very long interval of 10–20 ka. Geological and geomorphic features show that the YYFZ is dominated by right-lateral strike-slip movement with a low dextral slip rate of ~0.2–0.3 mm/a in late Quaternary, in accord with present-day geodetic observations. As with the YYFZ, paleoearthquakes along the TLFZ commonly share a recurrence interval of ~10–20 ka. We suggest that active segments of the TLFZ that have been dormant for thousands of years may pose significant earthquake hazards in the future. Moreover, strain transfer from the bounding faults to those more central in the graben may be significant on the TLFZ and should be given consideration when assessing regional seismic hazards. The Da'an-Dedu Fault Zone (DDFZ) is a major tectonic feature cutting through the Songliao Basin from south to north in NE China. Pulsed compression deformation of DDFZ during the Cenozoic implies a complex geodynamic process, and the latest stage of which occurred in the Quaternary directly influences the present seismicity of the interior basin. Although most of the evidence for Quaternary deformation about the Songliao Basin in the past decades was concentrated in marginal faults, all five earthquake swarms with magnitudes over 5.0 along the buried DDFZ with no surface expression during the past 30 years suggest it is a main seismogenic structure with seismic potential, which should deserve more attention of geologists. However, limited by the coverage of the Quaternary sedimentary and absence of strong historic and instrumental earthquakes records (M > 7), the geometric pattern, Quaternary activity and seismic potential of the DDFZ remain poorly understood. Thus, unlike previous geophysical studies focused on crust/mantle velocity structure across the fault and the aim of exploring possible mineral resources in the basin, in this study we have integrated a variety of the latest seismic data and drilling holes from petroleum explorations and shallow-depth seismic reflection profiles, to recognize the Cenozoic pulsed compression deformation of the DDFZ, and to discuss its implication for earthquake potential. The results show that at least four stages of compression deformation have occurred along the DDFZ in the Cenozoic: ~ 65 Ma, ~ 23 Ma, ~ 5.3 Ma, and ~ 1.8 Ma, respectively, although the geodynamic process behind which still in dispute. The results also imply that the tectonic style of the DDFZ fits well with the occurrence of modern seismic swarms. Moderate earthquake potential (M ≤ 7.0) is suggested along the DDFZ. The Yilan-Yitong Fault Zone (YYFZ), which is composed of two nearly parallel branches with a spacing of 5–30 km and a length of ∼1100 km, is considered to be the key branch of the Tancheng-Lujiang Fault Zone (TLFZ) in NE China. It was traditionally believed that the YYFZ experienced weak activity or was inactive during the Late Quaternary, without the capability to generate strong earthquakes (M ≥ 7), based on the absence of typical outcrops and large historical or instrumental earthquakes (M > 6). However, our paleoseismic study shows that the YYFZ is the primary seismotectonic structure (M ≥ 7) that poses significant earthquake threats to NE China. The synthesis of data collected from geologic investigations, geomorphic mapping, trench logging and the dating of samples indicates that the YYFZ is an active structure that has undergone segmented strong tectonic deformation since the Late Quaternary with a characteristic assemblage of landforms, including linear scarps and troughs, offset or deflected streams, linear sag ponds, small horsts and grabens. The latest ruptures of the YYFZ migrated from previous boundary faults into the basin interior, forming a left-stepping en echelon pattern in plain view, and the kinematics of these events in the Late Quaternary were dominated by reverse dextral slipping. Multi-segment cluster faulting might have occurred during three cluster periods, i.e., ∼34750–35812 a BP, ∼21700–22640 a BP, and ∼4000 a BP-present, which implies that the recurrence interval of large earthquakes along the YYFZ may be as long as tens of thousands of years. On July 22, 2013, an earthquake of Ms. 6.6 occurred at the junction area of Minxian and Zhangxian counties, Gansu Province, China. This earthquake triggered many landslides of various types, dominated by small-scale soil falls, slides, and topples on loess scarps. There were also a few deep-seated landslides, large-scale soil avalanches, and fissure-developing slopes. In this paper, an inventory of landslides triggered by this event is prepared based on field investigations and visual interpretation of high-resolution satellite images. The spatial distribution of the landslides is then analyzed. The inventory indicates that at least 2330 landslides were triggered by the earthquake. A correlation statistics of the landslides with topographic, geologic, and earthquake factors is performed based on the GIS platform. The results show that the largest number of landslides and the highest landslide density are at 2400m-2600m of absolute elevation, and 200m-300m of relative elevation, respectively. The landslide density does not always increase with slope gradient as previously suggested. The slopes most prone to landslides are in S, SW, W, and NW directions. Concave slopes register higher landslide density and larger number of landslides than convex slopes. The largest number of landslides occurs on topographic position with middle slopes, whereas the highest landslide density corresponds to valleys and lower slopes. The underlying bedrocks consisting of conglomerate and sandstone of Lower Paleogene (Eb) register both the largest number and area of landslides and the highest landslide number and area density values. Correlations of landslide number and landslide density with perpendicular- and along-strike distance from the epicenter show an obvious spatial intensifying character of the co-seismic landslides. The spatial pattern of the co-seismic landslides is strongly controlled by a branch of the Lintan-Dangchang fault, which indicates the effect of seismogenic fault on co-seismic landslides. In addition, the area affected by landslides related to the earthquake is compared to the relationship of "area affected by landslides vs. earthquake magnitude" constructed based on earthquakes worldwide, and it is shown that the area affected by landslides triggered by the Minxian-Zhangxian earthquake is larger than that of almost all other events with similar magnitudes. The Yellow River water of an urban area located in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River was taken as the research object， in which the seasonal and along-range distribution of total culturable bacteria， typical antibiotic resistant bacteria （amoxicillin resistant bacteria and sulfamethoxazole-resistant bacteria）， and their corresponding typical resistance genes ［ β -lactam resistance gene （ bla CTX-M ） and sulfamamide resistance genes （ sulI and sulⅡ ）， as well as intⅠ1 were investigated. The results showed that the total culturable bacteria， β -lactam-resistant bacteria and sulfonamide-resistant bacteria in the Yellow River Basin were significantly affected by temperature and human activities. The composition and quantity of their genera had obvious spatiotemporal distribution characteristics， in which Bacillus and Pseudomonas were dominant in the composition and number of bacteria. The abundance of resistance genes decreased with the decrease in temperature. The proportion of β -lactam resistance genes in the total genes was higher than that of sulfanilamide genes， and sulI was the dominant gene in sulfanilamide genes. Correlation analysis showed that class Ⅰ integron played an important role in accelerating the spread of resistance genes. This study offers insight into the status quo of water resistance pollution in the Yellow River and provides theoretical support for the risk assessment of resistance genes in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River Basin.

Abstract: Glycogen storage diseases (GSDs) are a group of rare inherited metabolic disorders caused by enzyme deficiencies in glycogen catabolism. The more common type, GSD type Ia, is caused by glucose-6-phosphatase deficiency and often complicated by gout from hyperuricemia. Here, the authors report a rare case of a tophi wound caused by GSD type Ia in a Chinese patient. Difficulties in this case included the control of abnormal blood markers, especially uric acid; removal of tophi deposited in the tissues; restoration of hand function after wound healing; and patient adherence to treatment and follow-up. A multidisciplinary team was set up consisting of experts from the authors' wound care center and the departments of endocrinology, orthopedics, and rehabilitation. The wound healed in 53 days and was followed up for about 7 months. During follow-up, the patient's hand function returned to normal, and no new tophi formed. Objective: To determine the prevalence and characteristics of incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD) among hospitalized Chinese patients., Data Sources: Authors searched Chinese (China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Data, VIP Data, Chinese Biomedicine) and English (PubMed, Web of Science) electronic databases for articles published from 1987 through February 2019., Study Selection: The preliminary search identified 558 studies. After removal of duplicates (n = 202), application of exclusion criteria, and screening titles and abstracts (n = 346), 10 studies met the inclusion criteria., Data Extraction: A standardized form was constructed to extract data from eligible studies, and this information was extracted by two independent authors., Data Synthesis: A pooled analysis of the 10 studies (total sample size, 40,039) showed the prevalence of IAD in hospitalized Chinese patients was 1.44% (95% confidence interval, 1.10%-1.79%). Subgroup analysis indicated no significant association between sex and IAD. Patients older than 90 years had the highest incidence of IAD (8.64%). The most common type was mild IAD (1.00%). Fecal incontinence (48.02%) led to more cases of IAD than urinary incontinence (11.35%) or both (25.78%). The most common types of IAD were perineal (0.92%) and perianal (0.90%)., Conclusions: Incontinence-associated dermatitis is a global health problem that requires more attention. Understanding the prevalence and characteristics of IAD is helpful in the formulation of IAD prevention and treatment programs in China.

Zinc isotope ratios in water and suspended particles (SP) were measured in the Pearl River Estuary (PRE), China. Site-to-site δ 66 Zn values in water varied by approximately 1.3‰ (i.e., -0.66‰ to 0.65‰ relative to IRMM-3702 in August 2017). There were larger variations in δ 66 Zn values in water collected from the east shore (i.e., -0.66‰ to 0.37‰) of the PRE close to industrialized areas, in comparison to those from the western shore (i.e., -0.23‰ to 0.13‰), indicating that the PRE was influenced by different Zn sources. The variations in δ 66 Zn values in water from estuarine locations were much larger than those collected from river mouths. Similarly, larger variations in δ 66 Zn values were observed in suspended particles (i.e., -1.45‰ to 0.63‰) relative to the water. Zinc isotopic differences (i.e., Δ 66 Zn‰) between particles and water were significantly ( p < 0.05) and linearly correlated with Zn concentrations in particles between 0.8 and 10 μm in size at most of the estuary stations, suggesting that Zn partitioning between dissolved and particulate phases influences the observed differences in Zn isotope ratios. A significant ( p < 0.0001) linear correlation between the predicted δ 66 Zn values (using variations in water salinities) vs observed δ 66 Zn values indicates that Zn isotope ratios in water in the PRE can be useful for predicting the mixing processes in the water.

Based on the five typical mangrove species in the mangrove wetland of Shenzhen Bay, the contents and distributional characteristics of iron plaques (Fe) and the Mn, Pb, Zn, Cu, As, Cr, Cd, Ni, Co, and Sb enrichment of the iron plaques on mangrove plant roots were investigated. The results show that:① There is a significant difference in the contents of iron plaques among the five mangrove species, and the contents in the species follow the order: Acanthus ilicifolius > Aeagiceras corniculatum > Bruguiera gymnorrhiza > Kandelia obovate > Heritiera littorlis ; the content ranged from 0.37 g·kg -1 to 10.81 g·kg -1 . ② Iron plaques have a certain enrichment effect on the heavy metals in the sediments. The contents of heavy metals in the iron plaques vary with the plant species, being the highest in A. ilicifolius and the lowest in H. littorlis . This enrichment also varies with the element species:Mn content changed from 0.11 g·kg -1 to 2.67 g·kg -1 ; the highest contents of Pb, Zn, Cu, As, and Cr changed from 117.44 mg·kg -1 to 189.69 mg·kg -1 ; and the highest contents of Cd, Ni, Co. and Sb changed from 34.84 mg·kg -1 to 63.34 mg·kg -1 . The content of Zn in the iron plaque is negatively correlated with the other heavy metal contents ( P <0.001), indicating that Zn might compete with the other elements. ③ Sediment pH significantly affects the content of iron plaque and the accumulation of Mn in the iron plaque ( P <0.05). The water content and salinity of the sediments are positively correlated with the contents of heavy metals Cr and Co in the iron plaque ( P <0.05). ④ The distribution of iron plaques and their heavy metal contents in different parts of the roots of the mangrove plants follow the order:root tip > root middle > root base.

A Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, non-motile bacterial strain, 7Y-4T, was isolated from bark tissue of Populus × euramericana. The isolate was able to grow between 10 and 37 °C, with optimal growth occurring at 28-30 °C. Strain 7Y-4T was positive for oxidase and catalase activities, but did not reduce nitrite from nitrate. Positive reactions were observed for the activities of β-galactosidase, urease and β-glucosidase, but negative reactions for the activities of gelatinase and the production of indole, acetoin and H2S. Citrate was not utilized. The major fatty acids of strain 7Y-4T are iso-C15 : 0 (28.6 %), C16 : 1ω7c/C16 : 1ω6c (31.8 %) and iso-C17 : 0 3-OH (23.3 %).The major polar lipids of the novel isolate include phosphatidylethanolamine, three unknown phospholipids (PL1-3) and six unknown lipids (L1-6), and the predominant menaquinone is MK-7. The DNA G+C content is 41.7 mol%. Analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that the novel isolate shared the greatest sequence similarity with Sphingobacterium hotanense XH4T (93.50 %). On the basis of phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, strain 7Y-4T represents a novel species of the genus Sphingobacterium, for which the name Sphingobacterium populi is proposed. The type strain is 7Y-4T (=CFCC 11742T=KCTC 42247T).

Two Gram-negative, non-motile, rod-shaped strains, BQ4-1(T) and NHI3-2, isolated respectively from the healthy and diseased part of Populus ×euramericana canker bark, were characterized using a polyphasic approach. Chemotaxonomic characterization supported the inclusion of the two strains in the genus Acinetobacter, with genomic DNA G+C contents (42.5-43 mol%) within the range observed for this genus (38-47 mol%) and 9-octadecenoic acid (C18 : 1ω9c, 39.87 %), hexadecanoic acid (C16 : 0, 11.26 %) and summed feature 3 (comprising C16 : 1ω7c/C16 : 1ω6c, 18.90 %) as major fatty acids. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA, rpoB and gyrB gene sequences revealed that strains BQ4-1(T) and NHI3 did not cluster with any species with validly published names, and formed a distinct cluster with 99-100 % bootstrap support on three phylogenetic trees within the genus Acinetobacter. Acid was not produced from d-glucose, and haemolysis was not observed on agar media supplemented with sheep erythrocytes. On the basis of phenotypic, genotypic and phylogenetic characteristics, the two strains are considered to represent a novel species of the genus Acinetobacter, for which the name Acinetobacter puyangensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is BQ4-1(T) (= CFCC 10780(T) = JCM 18011(T)).

The influence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) gene heterogeneity on the failure of HBV vaccination in eastern China remains unknown. Here, we assigned 78 hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)-carrier mothers to two groups: 41 mothers from whom transmission of HBV to their children was successfully prevented and 37 mothers whose children were HBsAg positive 1 year after HBV vaccination. The DNA loads in mothers of the failure group (4.17E + 07 copies/ml) were significantly higher than those in the success group (8.40E + 06 copies/ml). However, no difference was found in the S gene mutation rate and genotypes between the groups. Interestingly, Thr123Ala and Gly145Arg were observed only in failure-group mothers, whereas Thr126Asn, Thr126Ser, Thr143Asn, Asp144Gly, and Asp144Ala were seen in the success group. Thus, high viral load is an important risk factor for HBV vaccination failure, which is correlated with the positions of mutations in the S gene, but not with mutant frequencies or genotypes.

Objectives: To investigate the relationship between HBV (hepatitis B virus) polymerase gene 180 and 204 sites mutation and lamivudine resistance., Methods: One hundred forty-one patients with lamivudine resistance after lamivudine treatment and 60 chronic hepatitis B patients without lamivudine treatment were enrolled in this study. The serum HBV DNA mutation was analyzed by sequence detection via polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The sequences of the same patient were analyzed before and after lamivudine treatment., Results: One hundred and nine lamivudine resistance patients had HBV YMDD (tyrosine-methionine-aspartate-aspartate) mutation. Among them, 45 patients had rtL180M/M204V mutation (41.28%), 28 patients had rtL180M/M204I mutation (25.70%) and 36 patients had rtM204I mutation (33.02%). There were 6 patients with rtL180M mutation in 32 lamivudine resistance patients. Sixty chronic hepatitis patients without lamivudine treatment had no mutations., Conclusions: HBV mutations, which play an important role in lamivudine resistance usually locate at polymerase gene 204 site; 180 site mutation was also observed in these patients. Evaluation of the anti-virus therapy by surveillance of the two sites mutations is of importance.
