A recent study conducted at Shanxi Province Cancer Hospital in China has found that serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST) may serve as a potential biomarker for predicting the prognosis of extranodal natural killer/T cell lymphoma (ENKTL). The study analyzed 183 cases of ENKTL and determined that an AST level of 26 U/L was the optimal cut-off value. Patients with lower AST levels had better overall survival and progression-free survival rates compared to those with higher AST levels.
