This study aims to elucidate associations among self‐compassion, depression, and suicidal ideation, particularly with respect to gender differences. Using a multigroup cross‐lagged panel model, we conducted a longitudinal evaluation of 424 Chinese adolescents (55.85% boys; Mage = 18.02, SD = 0.73 at baseline). Our findings indicated that suicidal ideation at T1 positively predicted depression 6 months later, while negatively predicted self‐compassion. However, self‐compassion negatively predicted depression 6 months later, specifically in boys, but not in girls. Furthermore, self‐compassion significantly mediated the relationship between suicidal ideation at T1 and depression at T2. This study helps to uncover the underlying relationships between self‐compassion, depression, and suicidal ideation, and also provide a detailed insight into the differential effects of self‐compassion on depression among boys and girls. Cultural soil heritages (CSHs) are artifacts with historical, artistic, and scientific significance; however, they are vulnerable to various hazards, such as weathering, fractures, hollowing, collapses, and gullies. This is especially true for those CSHs exposed to the outdoors. Due to the large number of CSHs sites within China, managing and protecting these heritages with the aid of detailed on-site investigations is time-consuming and expensive. Consequently, evaluating the spatial distribution and degree of hazards developed in all these heritages becomes impractical. To address this issue, this paper developed a Gaussian process classification (GPC) method to predict the spatial distribution of typical hazards (i.e., weathering, fractures, hollowing, collapses, and gullies) and the development level of each hazard from eight environmental factors (e.g., annual relative humidity and annual sunshine time) and a limited number of investigation data. As the number of investigation data for different levels of each hazard is usually imbalanced and sparse, this study proposed a synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) with GPC to form the SMOTE-GPC method. A real-world example is used to illustrate this approach. Results from real-world data demonstrated that the proposed method achieved an F 1 score, precision, recall, and Cohen's kappa with values greater than 0.93 in both the training and testing datasets, indicating its good performance. The effective management of knowledge sharing and protection poses a critical challenge for enterprises engaged in interorganizational collaboration. Prior research has indicated that knowledge sharing and protection are often viewed as incompatible or even contradictory organizational behaviors. This study presents a more comprehensive theoretical framework that takes into account both knowledge sharing and protection. To investigate the relationships between influential antecedent factors and collaborative performance outcomes, we conducted a survey involving 247 knowledge‐intensive manufacturing companies in China. The study contributes to the field by developing a conceptual model for understanding knowledge sharing and protection, and it also provides practical value through the introduction of "Knowledge Sharing and Protection Guidelines." These guidelines are designed to assist enterprises in enhancing their individual performance, expanding their market share, and bolstering their competitiveness. Simple Summary: The Chironomidae family stands out as the most widely dispersed and often the most abundant insect group in freshwater habitats. The significance of color patterns is well-recognized, as they fulfill multiple roles such as communication, camouflage, mimicking, and defense. However, the taxonomy of species within this family, relying on color patterns, as well as the shape and distribution of thoracic pigmentation, wing markings, and leg pigmentation, remains controversial and unstable. Here, we conduct a comprehensive review on the taxonomy of a Chiromidae genus, Stictochironomus from China, which is characterized by a combination of distinctive wing and leg markings. Using DNA barcode data and morphological data, two new species to science from China are well supported. Species delimitation analyses performed with distance-based approach and coalescent tree-based approaches also support them as distinct species. Therefore, color patterns should be a good diagnostic characteristic for species delimitation in Stictochironomus. Furthermore, we provided an up-to-date taxonomic key for male adults of Stictochironomus from China. The genus Stictochironomus (Diptera: Chironomidae) has an almost worldwide distribution, with more than 30 species. However, species delimitation and identification based on the markings on the wings and legs are controversial and uncertain. In this study, we focused on color patterns to review the adults of the genus from China, and two new species (S. trifuscipes sp. nov. and S. quadrimaculatus sp. nov.) are described and figured. DNA barcodes can accurately separate the two new species with specific color patterns. However, heterospecific individuals form a monophyletic cluster in the phylogeny tree. For example, S. maculipennis (Meigen) and S. pictulus (Meigen), which have a lower interspecific genetic divergence, form a single clade. Sequences with the same species name but with high intraspecific distance form more than one phylogenetic clade, such as S. sticticus (Fabricius) of three clades, S. pictulus of four clades, S. akizukii (Tokunaga) and S. juncaii Qi, Shi, and Wang of two clades, might have potential cryptic species diversity. Species delimitation analysis using ASAP, PTP, and GMYC clearly delineated them as separate species. Consequently, color patterns are a good diagnostic characteristic for species delimitation in Stictochironomus. The distance-based analysis shows that a threshold of 4.5–7.7% is appropriate for species delimitation in Stictochironomus. Contamination by odor substances such as geosmin (GSM) and 2-methylisoborneol (2-MIB) was examined in the cultured water from aquaculture farming in the region of the Hongze Lake in 2022, and some factors influencing residual levels of them in the water were analyzed. Geographically, high concentrations of GSM were located mainly in the north and northeast culture areas of the lake, while those of 2-MIB were found in the northeast and southwest. Analysis of the water in the enclosure culture revealed significant differences in the concentrations of GSM and 2-MIB among the cultured species. The mean concentrations of GSM in culture water were ranked in the order: crab > the four major Chinese carps > silver and bighead carp, and silver and bighead carp > crab > the four major Chinese carps for 2-MIB. The concentration of GSM was significantly higher at 38.99 ± 18.93 ng/L in crab culture water compared to other fish culture water. Significant differences were observed in GSM concentrations between crab enclosure culture and pond culture, while 2-MIB levels were comparable. These findings suggest that cultural management practices significantly affect the generation of odor substances. The taste and odor (T&O) assessment revealed that the residual levels of GSM and 2-MIB in most samples were below the odor threshold concentrations (OTCs), although high levels of GSM and 2-MIB in all water bodies were at 30.9% and 27.5%, respectively. Compared with the corresponding data from other places and the regulation guidelines of Japan, USA, and China, the region in the Hongze Lake is generally classified as a slightly T&O area, capable of supporting the aquaculture production scale. E-commerce platforms have become a significant sales channel for processed tilapia products such as frozen tilapia fillets, pickled tilapia, and canned tilapia in China. As food safety issues are worldwide concerned, the imbalance between the nutritional benefits of fish and the risk of contamination has become a major constraint on fish consumption. Therefore, it is necessary to assess the safety of tilapia products sold on e-commerce platforms. We conducted a quantitative benefit-risk assessment of arsenic and nutrient levels for tilapia products sold on Chinese e-commerce platforms using the hazard quotient (HQ). A total of 147 tilapia products were collected from the central Chinese e-commerce platforms Tmall, Taobao, and Jingdong for arsenic determination. Arsenic concentrations in tilapia products ranged from 0.004 to 0.820 mg·kg−1. The inorganic arsenic content of tilapia products was lower than the national limit (0.1 mg·kg−1). One-way analysis of variance revealed that there was no significant difference in arsenic levels in tilapia products among different regions (p > 0.05), while there was a significant difference in product form, with canned tilapia containing significantly higher arsenic levels than frozen tilapia fillets and pickled tilapia fillets (p < 0.05). We conducted an aquaculture experiment to analyze the nutrient levels of tilapia. The mean value of EPA + DHA content of tilapia was 20.634 mg·100 g−1. The HQ values of tilapia products ranged from 0.004 to 0.736. In a word, the nutritional benefits of consuming tilapia products exceed the risk of arsenic exposure. These data can help demonstrate that tilapia products are low-risk, high-yield nutritious food and provide relevant safety recommendations for consumers purchasing processed tilapia products online. The central section of China's South-to-North Water Diversion Project has been designated as a national water conservation area, and the soil ecological security in its associated watersheds is of great importance. A total of 204 soil samples (0–20 cm depth) were obtained from the Laoguanhe River Basin. The concentrations of seven elements (Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Zn, Pb and Hg) were determined using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry and atomic fluorescence spectrometry following a near-total acid dissolution. Data analyses (including potential ecological risk, principal component analysis, geostatistical analysis and the positive matrix factorization model) were applied to evaluate the contamination of soil heavy metals and to identify their sources. The research results demonstrated that the mean contents of these seven elements exceeded background values for Henan Province, China, indicating human disturbance. Ecological risk evaluation revealed that Cd was the most frequently detected and the heavy metal causing the most pollution. Principal component analysis indicated that Cr, Ni and Cu stem from natural sources, while Zn and Cd are predominantly influenced by agricultural activities. Additionally, industrial activities and atmospheric deposition were responsible for the excess presence of Pb and Hg. The study suggests taking measures to control Cd sources in agricultural areas, reducing input of heavy metals into the river and providing scientific support for managing water quality. With the rapid development of society and the economy, human activities are increasing, which often brings potential threats such as a decline in forest resource quality and ecological function. In order to investigate the change in forest resource quality and human activity intensity, this study constructed a calculation model for a forest resource quality index and a human activity intensity index and conducted a quantitative analysis of the temporal and spatial changes in forest resource quality and human activity intensity in Yulin City based on sub-compartment data in 2017 and 2020. By combining spatial autocorrelation analysis, the changes in human activity intensity and spatial forest resource quality were explored, and key areas such as the prominent contradictions between humans and the land were superimposed and coupled as potential areas of concern. The results show the following: From 2017 to 2020, the forest resource quality in Yulin City improved as a whole, especially in Zizhou County, but there were increases and decreases in other regions. Human activity intensity increased as a whole, and the most obvious increase was in Hengshan District. Both the forest resource quality and human activity intensity indexes had spatial aggregation, the differences in forest resource quality between regions were reduced, and human activity intensity showed a trend towards aggregated development. The high–high cluster area for human activity intensity showed a decreasing trend, but it expanded outward in urban areas and other human-gathering areas, such as the surrounding area of Yulin City, Jingbian County, and Shenmu City. The high–high cluster area for forest resource quality showed a shrinking trend. Four specific regions were identified through a spatial coupled superposition analysis to reveal the dynamic relationship between forest resource quality and human activity intensity. The prediction of crop yield plays a crucial role in national economic development, encompassing grain storage, processing, and grain price trends. Employing multiple sensors to acquire remote sensing data and utilizing machine learning algorithms can enable accurate, fast, and nondestructive yield prediction for maize crops. However, current research heavily relies on single-type remote sensing data and traditional machine learning methods, resulting in the limited robustness of yield prediction models. To address these limitations, this study introduces a field-scale maize yield prediction model named the convolutional neural network–attention–long short-term memory network (CNN-attention-LSTM) model, which utilizes multimodal remote sensing data collected by multispectral and light detection and ranging (LIDAR) sensors mounted on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The model incorporates meteorological data throughout the crop reproductive stages and employs the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), normalized difference red edge (NDRE), soil-adjusted vegetation index (SAVI), and enhanced vegetation index (EVI) for the initial part of the vegetative stage (initial part of the V period), the later part of the vegetative stage (later part of the V period), the reproductive stage (R period), and the maturity stage (M period), along with LIDAR data for Point75–100 in the later part of the V period, Point80–100 in the R period, and Point50–100 in the M period, complemented by corresponding meteorological data as inputs. The resulting yield estimation demonstrates exceptional performance, with an R2 value of 0.78 and an rRMSE of 8.27%. These results surpass previous research and validate the effectiveness of multimodal data in enhancing yield prediction models. Furthermore, to assess the superiority of the proposed model, four machine learning algorithms—multiple linear regression (MLR), random forest regression (RF), support vector machine (SVM), and backpropagation (BP)—are compared to the CNN-attention-LSTM model through experimental analysis. The outcomes indicate that all alternative models exhibit inferior prediction accuracy compared to the CNN-attention-LSTM model. Across the test dataset within the study area, the R2 values for various nitrogen fertilizer levels consistently exceed 0.75, illustrating the robustness of the proposed model. Introduction: China has implemented Basic Public Health Service (BPHS) in 2009, aiming to improve the health status of the people, and the content of service includes implying health education for residents. As an important group of people, the migrants can easily become main reason for major infectious diseases such as HIV between different provinces, but the effect of receiving health education is still unknown for migrants. Therefore, the health education of China's migrant population has received widespread attention. Methods: This study used the data of the China Migrants Dynamic Survey (CMDS) from 2009 to 2017, and evaluated the trend of HIV health education acceptance rate of different migrant groups across the country (n = 570,614). Logistic regression model was used to test the influencing factors of HIV health education rate. Results: The study found that the overall HIV health education rate of Chinese migrants decreased from 2009 to 2017, and different types of migrants showed different trends. The proportion of migrants aged 20–35 who receive education fluctuates, and ethnic minorities, western regions, and migrants with high education were more likely to receive HIV health education. Conclusion: These findings identify when implementing health education for migrants, we can carry out more education for specific groups to promote the health equity of the migrant population. Paleoclimate studies of loess in China have focused mostly on the time series of a single borehole or profile. However, research on loess strata and regional paleoenvironmental patterns could facilitate a deeper understanding of loess as a paleoenvironmental indicator and provide new insights into interpreting loess in sedimentary records of the paleoclimate. In this study, we determined the spatial pattern and regional characteristics of the paleoclimate during the Last Interglacial period in the Luohe River Basin, Shaanxi Province, China. We selected four representative boreholes in the study area (ZK04, ZK18, ZK13, and ZK19) from different landforms and zones, distributed from the northwest to the southeast, as well as three classic profiles (JB, JD, and LC). From north to south, comparative analyses were conducted of the loess strata, magnetic susceptibility, and grain size, and we analyzed the distribution characteristics of loess and paleosols in different geomorphological regions. The results showed that both the thickness and the sedimentation rate of loess in this river basin decreased from north to south. There were few paleosol horizons in the northern Liangmao area, but numerous such horizons in the southern plateau, and the degree of paleosol development increased from north to south. The magnetic susceptibility increased, whereas the particle composition tended to become thinner from north to south. Background: In mouse, it was discovered that resveratrol (Res) enhanced osteoporosis (OP) by boosting osteogenesis. Besides, Res can also have an impact on MC3T3-E1 cells, which are crucial for the control of osteogenesis and thus increase osteogenesis. Although some articles have discovered that Res enhanced autophagy to promote the value-added differentiation of MC3T3, it is unclear exactly how this affects the process of osteogenesis in mouse. Therefore, we will show that Res encourages MC3T3-E1 proliferation and differentiation in mouse pre-osteoblasts and further investigate the autophagy-related mechanism for this impact. Methods: (1) MC3T3-E1 cells were separated into blank control group and various concentrations (0.01, 0.1, 1, 10, 100µmol/L) of group in order to determine the ideal Res concentration. In the Res group, Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) was used to measure the proliferation activity of pre-osteoblasts in mice in each group after resveratrol intervention. Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) and alizarin red staining were used to gauge the degree of osteogenic differentiation, and RT-qPCR was used to measure the expression levels of Runx2 and OCN in the osteogenic differentiation ability of the cells. (2) In the experiment, four groups were set up: the control group, 3MA group, Res group, and Res + 3MA group. To examine cell mineralization, ALP and alizarin red staining were utilized. RT-qPCR and Western blot detection of cell autophagy activity levels and osteogenic differentiation capacity in each group following intervention. Results: (1) Resveratrol might increase the number of mice pre-osteoblast, with the impact being most pronounced at 10µmol/L (P < 0.05). The nodules developed substantially more often than in the blank control group, and Runx2 and OCN expressions significantly increased (P < 0.05). (2) In contrast to the Res group, after 3MA purine blocked autophagy, the Res + 3MA group's alkaline phosphatase staining and the development of mineralized nodules were reduced. Runx2, OCN, LC3II / LC3I expression decreased, p62 expression increased (P < 0.05). Simple Summary: Non-biting midges are the most widely distributed, and frequently the most abundant, insect family in freshwater environments. Species delimitation concerning color patterns and the shape or distribution of thorax pigmentation, wing spots, abdomen pigmentation, and leg pigmentation are disputable and unstable in the family. This research focuses on a genus that shares the general appearance of the hypopygium, but with variations in coloration of the antennae, thorax, wings, and legs. In this study, we analyzed collected species along with public sequences, resulting in a preliminary DNA library including 21 morphospecies. DNA barcodes can successfully delimit Microtendipes species and showed deep intraspecific divergence in some species. We also confirmed that color patterns can be important diagnostic characters. As a result of this analysis, five species new to science are identified and described, and an updated key to male adults of known Microtendipes species from China is provided. The genus Microtendipes Kieffer (Diptera: Chironomidae) has a nearly worldwide distribution, comprising more than 60 species, which are further divided into two species groups based on larval stage. However, species delimitation and identification among the adults of this genus are controversial and uncertain. For instance, previous studies have provided many synonymies based on conspecific color pattern variations in Microtendipes species. Here, we used DNA barcode data to address Microtendipes species delimitation as well as to test whether color pattern variations can be diagnostic characters for interspecific identification. The 151 DNA barcodes used, 51 of which were contributed by our laboratory, represent 21 morphospecies. Species with specific color patterns could be accurately separated based on DNA barcodes. Consequently, the color patterns of adult males could be important diagnostic characters. The average intraspecific and interspecific sequence divergences were 2.8% and 12.5%, respectively, and several species exhibited deep intraspecific divergences higher than 5%. Molecular operational taxonomic units (OTUs) ranged from 21 to 73, based on methods including phylogenetic trees, the assemble species by automatic partitioning method, the Poisson tree process (PTP), and the general mixed Yule-coalescent (GMYC) method. As a result of these analyses, five new species were recognized (M. baishanzuensis sp. nov., M. bimaculatus sp. nov., M. nigrithorax sp. nov., M. robustus sp. nov., and M. wuyiensis sp. nov.). Tai Lake, an important biodiversity hotspot of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China, possesses its characteristic fish fauna. Barcoding on native species is important for species identification and biodiversity assessment with molecular-based methods, such as environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding. Here, DNA-barcoding coupled with high-throughput sequencing (HTS) and traditional Sanger sequencing was introduced to barcoding 180 specimens belonging to 33 prior morphological species, including the most majority of fish fauna in Tai Lake. HTS technology, on the one hand, significantly enhances the capture of barcode sequences of fish. The successful rate of fish barcoding was 74% and 91% in Sanger and HTS, respectively. On the other hand, the HTS output has a large number (64%) of insertions and deletions, which require strict bioinformatics processing to ensure that the "true" barcode sequence is captured. Cross-contamination and parasites were the primary error sources that compromised attempts at the DNA barcoding of fish species. The barcode gap analysis was 100% successful at delimiting species in all specimens. The automatic barcode gap discovery (ABGD) method grouped barcode sequences into 34 OTUs, and some deep divergence and closed species failed to obtain corresponding OTUs. The deep application of liquid fertilizer in paddy fields is a fertilization technique that applies liquid fertilizer deep near the root system of paddy field crops, which can effectively improve the absorption rate of the crops and reduce the amount of fertilizer applied. In the cold regions of China, the soil return rate of the furrowing operation of the deep application of liquid fertilizer in paddy fields is low, which can easily cause the excessive liquid leakage of fertilizer and affect crop growth. Therefore, it is difficult to popularize in large areas. According to the characteristics of paddy soil in the cold regions of China and the operating requirements of a high backfill rate and low disturbance rate of the soil of the deep application of liquid fertilizer, this paper designed a bionic liquid fertilizer deep application furrow opener based on the claw-toe structure of the muskrat. In this study, an indoor soil bin test was conducted by constructing a deep application environment for the liquid fertilizer in paddy fields. The results of the soil bin test showed the effects of the key operating parameters of the bionic design of the liquid fertilizer deep application furrow opener, spraying pressure of the liquid fertilizer and operating speed on the furrowing resistance, soil disturbance rate and the leakage amount of liquid fertilizer. The bionic design of the liquid fertilizer deep application furrow opener has a low soil disturbance rate and leakage amount of fertilizer when the operating speed is 0.8 m s−1, and the spraying pressure is 0.2 MPa. This furrow opener significantly improves the operating performance of the deep application of liquid fertilizer in the cold regions of China and is suitable for the deep application of liquid fertilizer in the paddy fields of this region. Minority stressors are associated with increased psychological distress, and social support is considered as a significant protective factor to mitigate the psychological distress in LGB individuals. In China, LGB individuals suffer additional pressure from society and family, but only a few studies have explored the effect of social support on the psychological distress of Chinese LGB individuals and the mechanism underlying the association. The current study aimed to examine the mediating role of self-esteem in the relationship between three sources of social support (from family, friends, and others) and psychological distress in Chinese LGB individuals. 227 LGB individuals (M age = 25.9 years; SD = 5.6) who were voluntarily recruited by a combination of snowballing and targeted sampling strategies. Path analysis was used to test the associations between variables. Results indicated that 31.3% of LGB individuals had a high level of psychological distress. The results showed that social support from family, friends, and others was associated with higher levels of self-esteem and lower levels of psychological distress. Only the mediating effect of self-esteem was found between friend support and psychological distress. This study demonstrated that friend support might be a protective factor against psychological distress in Chinese LGB individuals, and more friend support could potentially relieve psychological distress by building higher self-esteem. Background: This study aimed to assess the survival outcomes among patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (CA) who received cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in China. Methods: Relevant studies, published between January 1, 2010 and September 5, 2022, were retrieved from databases, including EMBASE, PubMed, Cochrane Library, the China Biology Medicine disk, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang databases. We included clinical studies in which all patients were diagnosed with CA and underwent out-of-hospital CPR, and the outcome variables were at least one of the following: return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), survival to admission, survival to hospital discharge, 1-month survival, achieved good neurological outcomes, and 1-year survival. Two investigators independently extracted the study data and assessed its quality using a modified Newcastle–Ottawa Scale tool. The data were pooled using random-effects models. Results: Of the 3620 identified studies, 49 (63,378 patients) were included in the meta-analysis. The pooled ROSC rate was 9.0% (95% confidence interval [CI] 7.5–10.5%, I2 = 97%), the pooled survival to admission rate was 5.0% (95% CI 2.7–8.0%, I2 = 98%), and the pooled survival to discharge rate was 1.8% (95% CI 1.2–2.5%, I2 = 95%). Additionally, the ROSC rate of patients with bystander CPR was significantly higher than that of those without bystander CPR, and the pooled odds ratio (OR) was 7.92 (95% CI 4.32–14.53, I2 = 85%). The ROSC rate of participants who started CPR within 5 min was significantly higher than that of those who started CPR after 5 min, and the pooled OR was 5.92 (95% CI 1.92–18.26, I2 = 85%). The ROSC rate of participants with defibrillation was significantly higher than that of those without defibrillation, and the pooled OR was 8.52 (95% CI 3.72–19.52, I2 = 77%). Conclusion: The survival outcomes of out-of-hospital CPR in China are far below the world average. Therefore, the policy of providing automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in public places and strengthening CPR training for healthcare providers and public personnel should be encouraged and disseminated nationwide. The aim of this study was to evaluate the net effects of dietary consumption on the potential neurodevelopmental effects of largemouth bass (Micropterus Salmoides, simplify as bass) cultured in China, especially when the bait of largemouth bass is changed from iced trash fish to formulated feed. A total of three bait group bass samples were collected from main producing areas during harvest period, including formulated feed group, iced trash fish group, and both group (converting from iced trash fish to formulated feed). Net neurodevelopment value (expressed as intelligence quotient or IQ) was calculated using FAO/WHO deterministic methods and probabilistic assessment model. The results showed net IQ of largemouth bass fed by the three baits groups all showed positive or beneficial neurodevelopmental effects, with the values of 1.55 ± 0.97 (formulated feed group), 3.17 ± 1.76 (iced trash fish group), and 2.65 ± 1.29 (both group) respectively. Bass samples fed with ice trash fish showed the highest neurodevelopmental effect. Background: There is a global increase in the prevalence of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Early identification of ASD in children and intervention are key aspects in the management of ASD. However, early identification is partly dependent on knowledge on ASD among pediatricians. This study analyzed the extent of ASD knowledge and its underlying factors among pediatric residents in eastern China, to provide a reference for medical education reforms. Methods: The study employed the Knowledge about Childhood Autism among Health Workers questionnaire. A total of 138 pediatric residents participated in the survey. Descriptive statistics were used to describe demographic characteristics and the four domains of the questionnaire. Univariate analysis was employed to assess impacts of the demographic characteristics on the questionnaire scores. On the other hand, multivariate regression analysis was used to analyze the correlation between the participants' demographic characteristics and the questionnaire scores. Results: The average ASD cognitive score of 138 respondents was 13.38 ± 4.48. The ASD cognitive scores in female pediatric residents were higher compared to that in males (p < 0.05). Residents who had obtained professional doctor qualification certificate were more than those without professional doctor qualification certificate (p < 0.05). The ASD knowledge in the group which did not have rotation in both departments was lower than in the group which had rotation in both departments (p < 0.05) as well as the group that had rotation in developmental and behavioral pediatrics department only (p < 0.05). Our multivariate linear regression model demonstrated significant statistical differences (p < 0.05), and showed that gender and systematic exposure to ASD knowledge had significant effects on cognitive scores (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Most participants had relatively low levels of awareness and knowledge about ASD, especially on ASD comorbidities and age of onset. Women, systematic learning of ASD knowledge in medical school, successful passing of the physician examination, and rotation in the developmental and behavioral pediatrics (DBP) department significantly influence the levels of ASD awareness and knowledge. Liquid-fertilizer deep-application techniques are techniques for applying fertilizers to the root system of crops, which can effectively improve the utilization rate of fertilizers and reduce application amounts. Due to the soil viscosity of soils in the cold region of Northeast China, the soil return rate of furrow openers for liquid-fertilizer deep applications is low, which can easily cause excessive volatilizations of liquid fertilizers. Therefore, aiming at the operational requirements of low soil disturbance for liquid-fertilizer furrowing and deep applications, an efficient soil-returning liquid-fertilizer deep-application furrow opener was innovatively designed based on soil characteristics during the inter-cultivation period in the cold region of Northeast China. The discrete element method (DEM) was used to analyze the operating performance of the high-efficiency soil-returning liquid-fertilizer deep-application furrow openers, which is determined by key operating parameters including width and slip cutting angle. The DEM Virtual Simulation Experiment results show that the optimal combination is the width of 37.52 mm and a slip cutting angle of 43.27°, and the test results show that the optimal performance of the high-efficiency soil-returning liquid-fertilizer deep-application furrow opener is that the soil disturbance rate is 51.81%, and the soil-returning depth is 52.1 mm. This paper clarifies the relationship between the width and the slip cutting angle in furrowing resistance and soil disturbance and the mechanism by which the width and slip cutting angle affect soil disturbance. Aquatic products contain both beneficial substances such as polyunsaturated fatty acids and harmful compounds such as methylmercury, and their combined health effects should be assessed at a common end point for a rational analysis. We used a risk–benefit model to assess net IQ point gain from consumption of Chinese mitten crabs (Eriocheir sinensis) from Jiangsu Province. Levels of methylmercury in the edible parts of the crabs ranged from 0.79 to 69.47 μg/kg (mean: 26.88 ± 15.09 μg/kg). Levels of methylmercury did not differ by sampling location. In aquaculture experiments, we simulated artificial pond farming using either iced trash fish or formulated feed. Crabs fed iced trash fish contained 28.72 ± 2.30 mg/g of eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid and crabs fed formulated feed contained 19.64 ± 3.62 mg/g of eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid. Model calculations estimated a gain of 7.52 IQ points from consumption of crabs fed formulated feed and 11.00 IQ points from consumption of crabs fed iced trash fish. They are all above the maximum theoretical IQ point gain value. Chinese mitten crab is a kind of high-quality food which is beneficial to the neural development of infants. Staphylococcus haemolyticus (S. haemolyticus) is the second most commonly isolated coagulase-negative staphylococcus (CoNS) in patients with hospital-acquired infections. It can produce phenol-soluble modulin (PSM) toxins and form biofilms. Compared with the wealth of information on Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis , very little is known about S. haemolyticus. There is an urgent need to find an effective preparation to combat the harm caused by S. haemolyticus infection. Chinese herbs have been utilized to cure inflammation and infectious diseases and have a long history of anticancer function in China. Here, we modified fusaric acid characterized from the metabolites of Gibberella intermedia , an endophyte previously isolated from Polygonum capitatum. This study shows that fusaric acid analogs (qy17 and qy20) have strong antibacterial activity against S. haemolyticus. In addition, crystal violet analyses and scanning electron microscopy observations demonstrated that qy17 inhibited biofilm formation and disrupted mature biofilms of S. haemolyticus in a dose-dependent manner. Additionally, it reduced the number of live bacteria inside the biofilm. Furthermore, the antibiofilm function of qy17 was achieved by downregulating transcription factors (sigB), transpeptidase genes (srtA), and bacterial surface proteins (ebp , fbp) and upregulating biofilm-related genes and the density-sensing system (agrB). To further elucidate the bacteriostatic mechanism, transcriptomic analysis was carried out. The following antibacterial mechanisms were uncovered: (i) the inhibition of heat shock (clpB , groES , groL , grpE , dnaK , dnaJ)-, oxidative stress (aphC)- and biotin response (bioB)-related gene expression, which resulted in S. haemolyticus being unable to compensate for various stress conditions, thereby affecting bacterial growth; and (ii) a reduction in the expression of PSM-beta (PSMβ1, PSMβ2, PSMβ3) toxin- and Clp protease (clpP , clpX)-related genes. These findings could have major implications for the treatment of diseases caused by S. haemolyticus infections. Our research reveals for the first time that fusaric acid derivatives inhibit the expression of biofilm formation-related effector and virulence genes of S. haemolyticus. Although previous research shows that general self-efficacy is related to employability, the mechanism of them is unclear. Thus, this study aims to explore the relationship between general self-efficacy and employability, examines the mediating role of achievement motivation and career aspirations among financially underprivileged college students in China. The analysis of 651 participants (59% female, 41% male) from six provinces indicates that general self-efficacy positively predicts employability through the mediating chain of achievement motivation and career aspirations. Introduction: Physical activity (PA), sedentary behaviors (SB), sleep, and diet are related to adiposity among children and adolescents. However, there may be interactions between PA, SB, sleep, and diet, and these lifestyle behaviors may work together to affect body weight. The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of multiple lifestyle behaviors of PA, SB, sleep, and diet on childhood adiposity (body mass index z-score and overweight/obesity), and to investigate the effect of meeting multiple guidelines on adiposity among children and adolescents in China. Methods: Cross-sectional results were based on 28,048 children aged 6–17 years from the China National Nutrition and Health Surveillance in 2010–2012. Information about PA, SB, and sleep was measured through interview-administered questionnaire. Dietary intake was assessed with food frequency questionnaire. The associations between multiple lifestyle behaviors and BMI z-score and overweight/obese were examined. Results: The prevalence of overweight/obesity in the participants was 19.2%. The average time of moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA), leisure SB, and sleep was 76.7 ± 45.5 min, 2.9 ± 1.4 h, and 8.5 ± 1.1 h per day, respectively. The China Dietary Guidelines Index for Youth (CDGI-Y) score was 62.6 ± 11.0. Sleep duration and diet score were negative associated with BMI z-score (both p < 0.001). MVPA and SB time were positive associated with BMI z-score (p = 0.041, 0.004). Meeting the SB, sleep, and diet guidelines had a lower BMI z-score (all p < 0.01) and lower odds of overweight/obesity (all p < 0.05). There were significant interactions between PA and diet. Compared with meeting no guidelines, those who met multiple guidelines had a lower risk of overweight/obesity (all p < 0.01). The more guidelines the participants met, the lower odds of overweight/obesity (p for trend <0.001). Conclusions: PA, SB, sleep, and diet are important behaviors associated with adiposity among children and adolescents. Attaining adequate amounts of appropriate multiple behaviors provided an additional benefit. It is important for children to meet recommended behavioral guidelines or recommendations. Background: This study aims to validate the diagnostic accuracy of the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) the Assessment of Different NEoplasias in the adneXa (ADNEX) model in the preoperative diagnosis of adnexal masses in the hands of nonexpert ultrasonographers in a gynaecological oncology centre in China. Methods: This was a single oncology centre, retrospective diagnostic accuracy study of 620 patients. All patients underwent surgery, and the histopathological diagnosis was used as a reference standard. The masses were divided into five types according to the ADNEX model: benign ovarian tumours, borderline ovarian tumours (BOTs), stage I ovarian cancer (OC), stage II-IV OC and ovarian metastasis. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to evaluate the ability of the ADNEX model to classify tumours into different histological types with and without cancer antigen 125 (CA 125) results. Results: Of the 620 women, 402 (64.8%) had a benign ovarian tumour and 218 (35.2%) had a malignant ovarian tumour, including 86 (13.9%) with BOT, 75 (12.1%) with stage I OC, 53 (8.5%) with stage II-IV OC and 4 (0.6%) with ovarian metastasis. The AUC of the model to differentiate benign and malignant adnexal masses was 0.97 (95% CI, 0.96–0.98). Performance was excellent for the discrimination between benign and stage II-IV OC and between benign and ovarian metastasis, with AUCs of 0.99 (95% CI, 0.99–1.00) and 0.99 (95% CI, 0.98–1.00), respectively. The model was less effective at distinguishing between BOT and stage I OC and between BOT and ovarian metastasis, with AUCs of 0.54 (95% CI, 0.45–0.64) and 0.66 (95% CI, 0.56–0.77), respectively. When including CA125 in the model, the performance in discriminating between stage II–IV OC and stage I OC and between stage II–IV OC ovarian metastasis was improved (AUC increased from 0.88 to 0.94, P = 0.01, and from 0.86 to 0.97, p = 0.01). Conclusions: The IOTA ADNEX model has excellent performance in differentiating benign and malignant adnexal masses in the hands of nonexpert ultrasonographers with limited experience in China. What is known and objective: Prescribing errors are prevalent in hospital settings, with provision of feedback recommended to support prescribing by doctors. To evaluate the impact of a pharmacist‐led prescription intervention system on prescribing error rates and to measure intervention efficiency. Methods: All prescribers in Shandong Provincial Third Hospital received feedback from ward pharmacists using a pharmacist‐led prescription intervention system. The prescribing error rate was calculated from Oct 2019 to December 2020. After the intervention was applied, the rates of PASS 1 (System pass), PASS 2 (Pharmacist pass) and PASS 3 (Pharmacist‐doctor pass) events and the feedback time were calculated each month. Results and discussion: Irrational use of drugs was reduced and the prescription rate increased significantly. The error rate reduced from 6.94% to 1.96%, representing an estimated 71.76% decrease overall (p < 0.05). The PASS 1 rate gradually increased from 88% to 96% (p < 0.05), the PASS 2 rate gradually decreased from 5.06% to 2.04% (p < 0.05), the PASS 3 rate gradually decreased from 6.94% to 1.96% (p < 0.05). Few studies have assessed the impact of home and community‐based services (HCBSs) provision on cognitive function among older adults over time. This study examined the longitudinal association between HCBSs provision and cognitive function in Chinese older adults. The study included 5,134 participants aged 65 years and older in the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey from 2008 to 2014. The Mini‐Mental State Examination (MMSE) was used to evaluate cognitive function over the same time period. Participants were asked what kind of HCBSs were provided in his or her community. However, they were not asked whether services were utilised. The study used the number of HCBSs provided each wave to represent the strength of HCBSs, and used the MMSE score of each wave to represent the older adults' cognitive function status. A latent growth model was used to explore the relationship between HCBSs provision and cognitive function of older adults. The number of HCBSs provided was positively associated with older adults' cognitive function (2008: β = 0.03, p = 0.031; 2011: β = 0.06, p < 0.001; 2014: β = 0.06, p < 0.001) after controlling for gender, age, residence, education, income, medical insurance, activities of daily living disability, instrumental activities of daily living disability, serious illness, living arrangement and marital status. Background: In parallel with the increased prevalence of childhood overweight and obesity, the proportion of eating out in China has increased dramatically in recent years. The purpose of the study was to explore the association between frequency of eating out with overweight and obesity among Chinese children.Methods: The representative sample was recruited from Chinese National Nutrition and Health Survey (CNNHS) in 2010-2012, which included Chinese children aged 6-17 years (7685 boys and 7576 girls). Frequency of eating out was collected by interview-administered questionnaire and categorized as: 0, 1-2 and ≥ 3 times per week. Height and weight were measured, consequently body mass index was calculated.Results: The prevalence of eating out among Chinese children aged 6-17 years old was 23.2%. Children who ate out 0, 1-2, ≥3 times per week were accounted for 76.8, 10.9 and 12.3% respectively. Findings revealed that eating out three times per week or more was statistically significant associated with higher prevalence of overweight and obesity among boys (OR = 1.20,95CI:1.04-1.38) compared with those ate out less than three times per week. However, no significantly association was observed among girls (OR = 0.91, 95CI:0.78-1.01). In additional, Younger children, rural children, children from low income family, those with leisure exercises (certain physical activities regularly carried out such as swimming, walking, running, equipment fitness), leisure time sedentary behaviors (LTSB)(> 2 h/d) were relatively more likely to eat out.Conclusions: The results illustrated that eating out three times or more had a significantly positive effect on overweight and obesity among boys in China. Vinegar residue (VR), a major by‐product in the vinegar brewing process, is generated at least three million tons annually in China. Currently major part of the disposal of VR is fulfilled by landfill and incineration, however, serious environment pollution along with such processes is a challenging issue. Anaerobic digestion (AD) can provide benefits of environment and renewable methane generation, which seems to be a reasonable alternative to traditional treatment. Noticeably, total solids (TS) is an important influential parameter to AD performance. Therefore, VR was evaluated for methane production and associated kinetic characteristics during the liquid‐state AD (LS‐AD) and solid‐state AD (SS‐AD) in this study. The results indicated that the highest specific methane yield of 194.8 mL gVS−1 and volumetric methane yield of 9.4 Lmethane Lreactor volume−1 were achieved in LS‐AD (TS = 10%) and SS‐AD (TS = 20%), respectively. The kinetic analysis showed a higher specific methane production rate for LS‐AD than SS‐AD, while volumetric methane production rate presented a reverse trend. The use of Chinese mitten crabs for human consumption is controversial due to their uptake of heavy metals, such as cadmium (Cd). We developed a formula for quantification of benefit and risk assessment (hazard quotient) for the intake of a product containing essential polyunsaturated fatty acids versus heavy metals. A total of 70 samples (2100 individuals) of crabs were collected from 6 representative basins in Jiangsu province to determine Cd levels. Cd levels ranged from 0.028 to 5.015 mg kg−1, and the levels among the basin regions were similar (p > 0.05). To determine the nutritional differences between crabs fed with iced trash fish and formulated feed, we conducted a comparative aquaculture experiment. We simulated the cultivation conditions of crabs in China and found that the nutritional content in the trash fish group (28.724 ± 2.301 mg kg−1) was significantly higher than in the formulated food group (19.278 ± 3.556 mg kg−1; p < 0.05). The differences in the hazard quotient of benefit and risk balance between these two diets were not significant (p > 0.05). The average hazard quotient of iced trash fish feed culture was 0.023 ± 0.019, compared with the formulated feed culture (0.034 ± 0.028). Formulated feed and iced trash fish produce similar results as culture food for the Chinese mitten crab. In terms of cadmium exposure risk, the appropriate daily consumption of crabs is less than eight. Due to the concrete slope protection projects conducted around urban rivers in many megalopolises, increased attention has been paid to fish biodiversity losses accompanying urban development. Hatchery technology is a promising method for restoring fisheries where spawning substrates are degraded and/or lacking. In the current study, a Phragmites australis stereo artificial floating wetland (SAFW) was constructed in an urban river (Tuanwang River, Shanghai), and palm sheets were laid under the SAFW frame to imitate the spawning grounds for phytophilous fish. Fish species with five spawning types were distinguished from nineteen fish species in the study area. After viscid eggs were found to be attached to the palm sheets, the eggs were distinguished by the subunit of the mitochondrial cytochrome C oxidase I gene. All of the eggs belonged to six fish species: Culter ilishaeformis, Cyprinus carpio, Cyprinus auratus, Cultrichthys erythropterus, Rhodeus sinensis, and Hemiculter leucisculus. Cyprinus auratus and Cyprinus carpio accounted for the vast majority, and the number of these species was significantly greater than that of the other species. Dissolved oxygen and light intensity at the water surface were significantly higher than those at the deep water sites (p < 0.05), and all viscid eggs were inclined to be distributed at water depths of -0.5 and − 1.5 m. The results of redundancy analysis (RDA) showed that both water depth and dissolved oxygen were the main environmental variables in all spawning periods. The current study suggested that the relatively inexpensive P. australis SAFW was a useful hatchery technology for creating spawning grounds for phytophilous fish in urban rivers. Local regression has an advantage over global regression by allowing coefficients that qualify variables relationships being heterogeneous, where such varying regression relationships are nonstationarity. Spatiotemporally Varying Coefficients (STVC) model is the first Bayesian-based local spatiotemporal regression approach, intending to simultaneously detect spatial and temporal nonstationarity for heterogeneous response-covariate variables relationships, through separately estimating posterior local-scale coefficients over different space areas and time frames. In this paper, we first presented a general Bayesian STVC modelling paradigm as a specification guide to show its commonality in broader geospatial research. Then, we employed it to solve a real-world issue concerning spatiotemporal healthcare-socioeconomic relations, for which we derived data of county-level hospital beds number per capita, as well as data of related socioeconomic factors in northeast China during 2002–2011. Results showed that the STVC model surpassed all the other comparative regressions, in terms of both Bayesian model fitness and predictive ability. Globally, resident savings, financial institutions loans, GDP, and primary industry were identified as key socioeconomic conditions affecting healthcare resources in Northeast China. Temporally, with Time-Coefficients (TC) plots, we found that after 2011, GDP and primary industry would further help improve the overall healthcare level of northeast China. Spatially, with Space-Coefficients (SC) maps, we could directly identify the relative contribution of four socioeconomic covariates' impacts on healthcare within each administrative county. Processing trade is an important exporting mode for many countries developed by the export‐oriented industrialisation such as 1960s Japan, 1990s Korea and 2000s China. Exporters who rely on processing trade for foreign profits do not enjoy much market power, and hence care more about exchange rate changes. We develop a model to illustrate how processing trade affects exporters' responses to exchange rate fluctuations. The model suggests that the elasticity of export price with respect to exchange rate for processing‐trade exporters is greater than that of the ordinary‐trade exporters, while the elasticity of export quantity of processing‐trade exporters is smaller compared to their ordinary‐trade counterparts. Most developing countries' governments offer processing‐trade exporters better tax/tariff reduction policy to encourage exporting, which grants processing‐trade exporters additional advantage to adjust more on export price and less on quantity when facing changes in exchange rate and therefore causes their different responses to exchange rate fluctuations. Given the limitations of current approaches for disease relative risk mapping, it is necessary to develop a comprehensive mapping method not only to simultaneously downscale various epidemiologic indicators, but also to be suitable for different disease outcomes. We proposed a three-step progressive statistical method, named disease relative risk downscaling (DRRD) model, to localize different spatial epidemiologic relative risk indicators for disease mapping, and applied it to the real world hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) occurrence data over Mainland China. First, to generate a spatially complete crude risk map for disease binary variable, we employed ordinary and spatial logistic regression models under Bayesian hierarchical modeling framework to estimate county-level HFMD occurrence probabilities. Cross-validation showed that spatial logistic regression (average prediction accuracy: 80.68%) outperformed ordinary logistic regression (69.75%), indicating the effectiveness of incorporating spatial autocorrelation effect in modeling. Second, for the sake of designing a suitable spatial case–control study, we took spatial stratified heterogeneity impact expressed as Chinese seven geographical divisions into consideration. Third, for generating different types of disease relative risk maps, we proposed local-scale formulas for calculating three spatial epidemiologic indicators, i.e., spatial odds ratio, spatial risk ratio, and spatial attributable risk. The immediate achievement of this study is constructing a series of national disease relative risk maps for China's county-level HFMD interventions. The new DRRD model provides a more convenient and easily extended way for assessing local-scale relative risks in spatial and environmental epidemiology, as well as broader risk assessment sciences. Rice-crab (Chinese mitten crab, Eriocheir sinensis) coculture system has become one of the most important agricultural activities practiced in China. However, the effect of pesticide usage on the survival and edible safety of crab species living in the coculture system has not been investigated. In the present study, we created a field simulation experiment and discovered that the amount of pesticide chlorantraniliprole (CAP) entering the rice-crab coculture system accounted for 82.22% of the total CAP content present in the spray barrel. When CAP residues found in the soil leached into nearby areas, we observed an increase in the CAP concentration in the water and sediment. Specifically, peak CAP concentration (1.35 μg/L) was detected in water within 1 day, and a steady CAP concentration in the sediment (2.55 μg/kg) was detected within 3 days. Additionally, an extensive field sampling experiment conducted in the basin of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River revealed that CAP was routinely used in rice-crab coculture systems. Although detected CAP concentrations were below 1 μg/L in ditch water and below 1 μg/kg in ditch sediment, there was still a potential risk associated with the crab growth. Importantly, there was no risk associated with crab consumption, given the low detection frequency of CAP in the collected samples. Local-scale landslide susceptibility mapping (LSM) provides detailed information for decision making and planning. Most published landslide susceptibility maps lack reliable information at the local scale due to the spatial heterogeneity being ignored. To enrich the local-scale information of LSM, multiple information fusion methods for the local spatial heterogeneity and regional trends of control factors are needed. However, no information fusion method has been proposed for LSM yet. In this paper, we developed a new integrated statistical method, named B-GeoSVC, under the hierarchical Bayesian framework for LSM. Specifically, this model applied the GeoDetector method to fit the regional trends of control factors and employed spatially varying coefficients (SVC) model to fit the local spatial heterogeneity of each control factor. Then, the regional trends and local spatial heterogeneity information were fused within the hierarchical Bayesian framework. The B-GeoSVC model was verified using data from the Duwen basin of China, which was in the central region affected by the MS 8.0 Wenchuan earthquake that occurred on May 12, 2008. Under a cross-validation experiment, the prediction accuracy rate of the B-GeoSVC model was 86.09%, and the area under the curve was 0.93, which suggested that the B-GeoSVC model was able to achieve relatively accurate local-scale LSM and provide richer local information than traditional regional scale LSM. More importantly, not only the B-GeoSVC model could be employed as a general solution to fuse both regional and local-scale information for landslide mapping, but also offer new insights into the broader earth science and spatial statistics. Seventy Chinese mitten crab samples, encompassing a total of 2100 individuals, were collected from the main production areas in China. The objective was to assess the occurrences and patterns of 23 selected organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) in the edible tissues and assess the associated dietary risk. Concentrations of total residual OCPs in the mitten crabs ranged from 0.72 to 51.51 μg kg−1, which was comparable to other global aquatic species. Dichlorodiphenyl trichloroethanes (DDTs) and hexachlorocyclohexanes (HCHs) were the two main contributors of total OCPs, with the detected values ranging from 0.14 to 30.89 μg kg−1 and 0.23 to 4.04 μg kg−1, respectively. Source analysis indicated the coexistence of both residual and recent DDT inputs, while there was no indication of HCH usage in the main production area of mitten crab. In terms of dietary risk, at least eight individual mitten crabs per day are permissible for consumption by local residents, indicating low risk from consumption. Much attention has been given to the safety and quality of aquatic products, including consuming Chinese mitten crab (Erio cheir sinensis), which offers both nutritional benefits and toxicological risks. Eighteen sulfonamides, 9 quinolones and 37 fatty acids were analyzed in 92 crab samples from primary aquaculture provinces in China. Enrofloxacin and ciprofloxacin have been mentioned as typical antimicrobials occurring at the greatest concentrations (>100 μg/kg, wm). By use of an in vitro method, the proportions of enrofloxacin, ciprofloxacin and essential fatty acids (EFAs, DHA and EPA) in ingested nutrients were determined to be 12 %, none and 95 %, respectively. The risk-benefit quotient (HQ) between the adverse effects of antimicrobials and nutritional benefits of EFAs in crabs found that HQs based on data after digestion were significantly less (HQ = 0.0086) than that of the control group where no digestion occurred (HQ = 0.055). This result suggested that (1) there was less risk posed by antimicrobials due to the consumption of crab, and (2) ignoring the bioaccessible fraction of antimicrobials in crabs might overestimate risks to the health of humans due to dietary exposure. Meaning bioaccessibility can improve the accuracy of the risk assessment process. Realistic risk evaluation should be recommended to achieve a quantified assessment of the dietary risks and benefits of aquatic products. In order to observe CO characteristics in the unsaturated zone of loess tableland and further understand the carbon cycle, a series of tubes for gas monitoring and sampling were installed in an approximately 90-m deep Qiushe loess section of Lingtai County, Northwestern China. The results show that the concentration of CO was higher in loess than in the atmosphere, reaching a maximum of 6970 μmol·mol. CO concentrations in loess were higher in summer than in winter. The CO in loess was related to organic carbon decomposed by microbes, and to the CaCO-HO-CO system in the interface between the saturated and unsaturated zones. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Lanping-Simao basin characterized by the occurrence of hydrothermal activities in the northern part of the basin is the largest depression basin in western Yunnan Province. Hot springs outcrop in the semi-drought red layers (TDS, 0.644-8.17 g/L). Mixing with shallow cold water in the flow system is the dominant hydrogeological process leading to the decrease in thermal water temperature and complex hydrochemical compositions with water types ranging from HCO-Ca·Mg to Cl-Na type. According to the silicon concentration and enthalpy evaluation, the geothermal reservoir temperatures are estimated between 118 and 204 °C, and the mixing ratio between cold and thermal groundwater is 0.76 on the average. The high concentrations of Na and Cl indicate that there is some well-mineralized cold water in the flow system circulating to the upward migration path accompanied with intense water-rock reactions in the fault developed basin. Ca and SO originate from progressively longer flow path owing to the poor solubility of gypsum, anhydrite and Ca-montmorillonite. Hierarchical clustering and multivariate statistical methods recognized three hot springs groups and four parameters groups which classified the reservoir environment into two situations, one is in the high-pressure environment with intense degassing, and the other is in the lower pressure with weak minerals migration. Contamination of heavy metals would threaten the water and soil resources; phytoremediation can be potentially used to remediate metal contaminated sites. We constructed the Phragmites australis artificial floating wetlands outside the Qingcaosha Reservoir in the Yangtze Estuary. Water characteristic variables were measured in situ by using YSI Professional Pro Meter. Four heavy metals (copper, zinc, lead, and chromium) in both water and plant tissues were determined. Four heavy metals in estuary water were as follows: 0.03 mg/Kg, 0.016 mg/Kg, 0.0015 mg/Kg, and 0.004 mg/Kg. These heavy metals were largely retained in the belowground tissues of P. australis. The bioaccumulation (BAF) and translation factor (TF) value of four heavy metals were affected by the salinity, temperature, and dissolved oxygen. The highest BAF of each metal calculated was as follows: Cr (0.091 in winter) > Cu (0.054 in autumn) > Pb (0.016 in summer) > Zn (0.011 in summer). Highest root-rhizome TF values were recorded for four metals: 6.450 for Cu in autumn, 2.895 for Zn in summer, 7.031 for Pb in autumn, and 2.012 for Cr in autumn. Background: As the first meal of the day, breakfast plays an important role in supplying energy and nutrients, which are critical to working and learning activities. A three-phase crossover study was designed to investigate the effects of breakfast on cognitive function among Chinese white-collar workers. The planned study protocol is presented.Methods: A total of 264 participants aged 25-45 years will be recruited from Shenyang and Chongqing. Self-administered questionnaires will be used to collect information on age, gender, marital status, education level, occupation, smoking habits, drinking habits, and breakfast behaviours. The participants will be randomly assigned to 3 equal-sized groups (Groups A, B, and C) and will be provided with a nutrition-adequate breakfast, a nutrition-inadequate breakfast, or no breakfast, respectively. Each participant will receive the breakfast treatment on the basis of assignment to one of three sequences (ABC/BCA/CAB). Each participant will complete a battery of cognitive tests assessing short-term memory, attention, and working memory 120 minutes after breakfast. Mood will be measured through a self-administered questionnaire assessing the dimensions of positive and negative frames of mind. Additionally, fasting blood glucose and postprandial 2-hour blood glucose levels will be tested with a blood-glucose meter (Roche ACCU-CHEK®-Performa). All the participants will take all the tests in three successive weeks, and the order of presentation will be counter-balanced across groups.Discussion: The present study will be the first investigation of the effect of breakfast food type and quality on cognitive function amongst white-collar workers in China. We predict that a nutrition-adequate breakfast, compared with a nutrition-inadequate breakfast and no breakfast, will significantly improve short-term cognitive function. Background: Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) has been chosen as a less invasive alternative for type B aortic dissections (TBADs). However, the therapeutic effect of TEVAR has been challenged by postoperative adverse events, which were induced by inflammatory response. Glucocorticoids have been widely used because of the powerful and effective anti-inflammatory properties. Nevertheless, the prognostic effect of glucocorticoids after TBAD patients underwent TEVAR remains unclear. The objective of this study was to assess the potential effect of postoperative glucocorticoids on the prognosis of TEVAR for TBADs. Methods: A total of 92 chronic TBADs patients underwent TEVAR with epidural anesthesia between June 2012 and June 2014 was retrospectively reviewed. The patients were stratified into dexamethasone (DXM) and non-dexamethasone group (N-DXM). The indications for TEVAR were as following: malperfusion (n = 28); contained or impending rupture (n = 17); persistent intractable chest/back pain (n = 32); refractory hypertension (n = 15). Results: No 30-day mortality and incision infection occurred in each group. The postoperative pain score on the second day was significantly higher in N-DXM group (3.60 ± 0.21 versus 4.83 ± 0.32, P = 0.001). The differences of white blood cell, body temperature and heart rate were pronounced in both groups judged by the peak values (13.01 ± 0.58 × 10(9)/L versus 10.04 ± 0.61 × 10(9)/L, 37.67 ± 0.08 °C versus 37.92 ± 0.09 °C and 89.06 ± 1.21 bpm versus 95.95 ± 1.70 bpm, P = 0.002, 0.04 and 0.001, respectively). The white blood cells in DXM group significantly increased on the second and third postoperative day (P = 0.009 and 0.023), while the body temperature and heart rate showed an apparent decline on the second (P = 0.001 and 0.028), third (P = 0.007 and 0.005) and fourth postoperative days (P = 0.024 and 0.018). However, the changes of false lumen volumes and the endoleak incidence at 3-month follow-up were comparable in the two groups. No significant difference of post-implantation syndrome was observed either. Conclusions: Although postoperative prophylactic glucocorticoids administration was unable to influence mortality, incision infection or the change of false lumen volumes, it enabled to enhance the recovery of vital signs and alleviate the postoperative pain. A prospective, randomized controlled trial has been registered (NCT02523300), which will be warranted before prophylactic administration of glucocorticoids after TEVAR procedure could be recommended in the clinical work. Background: The genus Polytremis, restricted to the continental part of the southeastern Palaearctic and northern Oriental regions, is one of the largest and most diverse lineages of the tribe Baorini. Previous studies on the genus were focused mainly on morphological classification and identification of new species. Due to the lack of effective and homologous traits of morphology, there were many challenges in the traditional classification. In this report, we reconstruct the phylogeny to provide a solid framework for these studies and to test the traditional limits and relationships of taxa. Methodology and Principal Findings: We sequenced a mitochondrial and three nuclear gene fragments, coupled with an evaluation of traditional morphological characters, to determine the phylogenetic relationships for a total of 15 species representing all major species groups of the Polytremis genus in China, and to elucidate their taxonomic status. Conclusions and Significance: Analysis of mitochrondial and nuclear DNA showed considerable congruent phylogenetic signal in topology at the inter-species level. We found strong support for the monophyly of Polytremis and some clades were recognized with morphological data. Thus, the COI sequence in our study could be used as a DNA barcode to identify almost all members of the genus. However, incongruences of phylogenetic analyses occurred: in contrast to the phylogenetic trees of mitochondrial COI, it was not possible for nuclear rDNA to discriminate P. gotama from P. caerulescens, suggesting a possible recent separation of these two species. Additionally, P. theca was the only species with a greater intra-specific genetic distance compared to some inter-specific genetic distances in this study and some problems associated with the cryptic diversity of the species are discussed. Background: Polyporus umbellatus sclerotia have been used as a diuretic agent in China for over two thousand years. A shortage of the natural P. umbellatus has prompted researchers to induce sclerotial formation in the laboratory. Methodology/Principal Finding: P. umbellatus cultivation in a sawdust-based substrate was investigated to evaluate the effect of low temperature conditions on sclerotial formation. A phenol-sulfuric acid method was employed to determine the polysaccharide content of wild P. umbellatus sclerotia and mycelia and sclerotia grown in low-temperature treatments. In addition, reactive oxygen species (ROS) content, expressed as the fluorescence intensity of mycelia during sclerotial differentiation was determined. Analysis of ROS generation and sclerotial formation in mycelia after treatment with the antioxidants such as diphenyleneiodonium chloride (DPI), apocynin (Apo), or vitamin C were studied. Furthermore, macroscopic and microscopic characteristics of sclerotial differentiation were observed. Sclerotia were not induced by continuous cultivation at 25°C. The polysaccharide content of the artificial sclerotia is 78% of that of wild sclerotia. In the low-temperature treatment group, the fluorescent intensity of ROS was higher than that of the room temperature (25°C) group which did not induce sclerotial formation all through the cultivation. The antioxidants DPI and Apo reduced ROS levels and did not induce sclerotial formation. Although the concentration-dependent effects of vitamin C (5–15 mg mL−1) also reduced ROS generation and inhibited sclerotial formation, using a low concentration of vitamin C (1 mg mL−1) successfully induced sclerotial differentiation and increased ROS production. Conclusions/Significance: Exposure to low temperatures induced P. umbellatus sclerotial morphogenesis during cultivation. Low temperature treatment enhanced ROS in mycelia, which may be important in triggering sclerotial differentiation in P. umbellatus. Moreover, the application of antioxidants impaired ROS generation and inhibited sclerotial formation. Understanding geospatial impacts of multi-sourced drivers on the tourism industry is of great significance for formulating tourism development policies tailored to regional-specific needs. To date, no research in China has explored the combined impacts of socioeconomic and environmental drivers on city-level tourism from a spatiotemporal heterogeneous perspective. We collected the total tourism revenue indicator and 30 potential influencing factors from 343 cities across China during 2008–2017. Three mainstream regressions and an emerging local spatiotemporal regression named the Bayesian spatiotemporally varying coefficients (Bayesian STVC) model were constructed to investigate the global-scale stationary and local-scale spatiotemporal nonstationary relationships between city-level tourism and various vital drivers. The Bayesian STVC model achieved the best model performance. Globally, eight socioeconomic and environmental factors, average wage (coefficient: 0.47, 95% credible intervals: 0.43–0.51), employed population (−0.14, −0.17–−0.11), GDP per capita (0.47, 0.42–0.52), population density (0.21, 0.16–0.27), night-time light index (−0.01, −0.08–0.05), slope (0.10, 0.06–0.14), vegetation index (0.66, 0.63–0.70), and road network density (0.34, 0.29–0.38), were identified to have nonlinear effects on tourism. Temporally, the main drivers might have gradually changed from the local macro-economic level, population density, and natural environment conditions to the individual economic level over the last decade. Spatially, city-specific dynamic maps of tourism development and geographically clustered influencing maps for eight drivers were produced. In 2017, China formed four significant city-level tourism industry clusters (hot spots, 90% confidence), the locations of which coincide with China's top four urban agglomerations. Our local spatiotemporal analysis framework for geographical tourism data is expected to provide insights into adjusting regional measures to local conditions and temporal variations in broader social and natural sciences. The occurrence of 27 antibiotics (18 sulfonamides and 9 quinolones) in 92 samples of cultured Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis) from three provinces (Anhui, Jiangsu and Liaoning) was investigated. These 21 antibiotics were detected at least once in crabs from these provinces with detection frequencies of 3.70‐90.91%. Sulfonamides were detected in 53.7% of the samples at concentrations of 0.1–10 μg/kg in Jiangsu, while quinolones were detected with 90.9% of samples containing concentrations of 1–100 μg/kg in Liaoning province. Enroflxacin, ciprofloxacin, sulfaquinoxaline, sulfameter, sulfadoxine, and sulfamethoxazole were the mainly used antibiotics and enroflxacin were present at a high concentration (>100 μg/kg). Dietary assessments showed that residual antibiotics in crabs from China were far below the maximum residue limit (MRL) of total sulfonamides and quinolones, and there was almost no risk associated with crab consumption. Air pollution has been increasingly highlighted in China with the fast-paced development of industrialization, which has drawn a great deal of attention from the general public. In order to provide guidance on the reduction of air pollution, an accurate forecasting of air quality index (AQI) plays a vitally important role. To ensure an accurate forecasting of AQI while improving the accuracy of forecasting, three single forecasting models, radial basis function neural network (RBFNN), ensemble empirical mode decomposition and RBFNN (EEMD-RBFNN), EEMD-RBFNN and autoregressive integrated moving average model (EEMD-RBFNN-ARIMA) are incorporated into the combination forecasting model (CFM) through weight assignment. Despite the study of AQI forecasting performed in Zhengzhou and Shanghai China, the results demonstrate that: the forecasting effect of the sub-component of the influencing factors as the input of the network is more desirable than that of the influencing factors taken as the input of the network, the CFM is superior to the remaining three single models, and the forecasting effect of inverse variance method is better compared to the mean square error method and the simple weighted average method. Therefore, the CFM constructed using different weight methods provides a new approach to AQI forecasting.
