The High-Resolution Imaging Camera (HiRIC) is one major payload of China's first Mars exploration mission, and its main objective is to obtain the detailed observation images of the key areas on the Martian surface. In this paper, the leading group of HiRIC shows a full blueprint of the HiRIC. The HiRIC can achieve a high resolution (0.5 m at an altitude of 265 km) with a wide swath width of 9 km. The HiRIC adopts an Off-Axis Three-Mirror Astigmatic (TMA) optical system with a focal length of 4640 mm, an F-number of 12 and a Field of View (FOV) of 2° × 0.693°. In order to reduce the instrument weight, carbon-based material is widely used in the opto-mechanical structure which is in ultra-lightweight design, thus, a light-weight camera with a total mass of 42 kg is obtained. The Time Delay and Integration (TDI) Charge Coupled Devices (CCDs) and Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Transistor (CMOS) detectors are all set on the imaging plane to achieve the push-broom imaging and frame imaging, respectively. And the high Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) >100:1 can achieve in multi observation types for various scientific imaging tasks. After 4-year design and fabricate, the HiRIC has been assembly. The testing results show that the instrument is in good condition, and the Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) can achieve 0.18 at Nyquist frequency. Flood disaster resilience management and decision-making are comprehensive prevention and control strategies that integrate pre-disaster prevention, in-disaster scheduling and post-disaster reconstruction. In view of the many deficiencies in current flood disaster resilience research in terms of uncertainty measurement, dynamic regulation and management decision-making, a new method for the analysis of the driving mechanism of flood disaster resilience and management decision-making based on the fuzzy mathematical theory improved Bayesian belief network (BBN) is proposed. A case study was conducted in 15 state-owned farms under the jurisdiction of the Jiansanjiang Branch in Heilongjiang Province, China. The model predicts the resilience level with missing indicators. A diagnostic analysis of the correlation between indicators and resilience improvement and a sensitivity analysis of the dynamic evaluation of the importance of indicators are performed, and fuzzy decisions are made to quantify different decision-making schemes. The results show that when a single indicator is missing, the prediction accuracy exceeds 80%. However, the lack of economic indicators has a substantial impact on the results, and the accuracy is reduced to 63.3%, indicating that economic indicators are the key dimension affecting the evaluation of flood disaster resilience levels in the study area, which also provides a focus for previous data collection efforts. The diagnostic analysis constructs an index sequence to guide the improvement in resilience, in which the water surface rate and rainfall are the most direct driving forces affecting resilience. On this basis, the differences in the driving forces of each farm are further analyzed in detail. Sensitivity analysis shows that rainfall, per capita GDP, and the energy consumption of agricultural machinery are the indicators that occur most frequently among the top three sensitivity indicators of all farms. The 859 farm, Chuangye farm and Nongjiang farm are typical farms with a high sensitivity to rainfall and economic indicators. Fuzzy decision-making takes the comprehensive grade score of implementation motivation as a quantitative evaluation criterion, which provides guidance for decision-making based on the two dimensions of time and space. Soils developed from the parent materials of highly weathered granite are particularly susceptible to soil erosion. Therefore, it is of great significance to conduct in-depth research on runoff characteristics and soil loss mechanisms in weathered granite areas. Using the weathered granite area in the hilly region of southeastern China as the research object, we conducted indoor artificial rainfall simulation experiments involving three slope steepnesses (SSs), 8°, 15°, and 25°, and five rainfall intensities (RIs), 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 mm/min. The results showed that sediment load (SL) has positively linear relationships with mean runoff velocity (V), Reynolds number (Re), Froude number (Fr), shear stress (τ), and stream power (w). The eroded sediment was principally composed of silt and clay that accounted for 65.41–73.41% of the total SL. There was a boundary point at 0.02 mm for the particle size distribution (PSD) of the eroded sediment. The enrichment ratio (Er) of sand-grained particles (0.02–2 mm) ranged from approximately 0.45 to 0.65, while the Er of fine-grained particles (<0.02 mm) ranged from approximately 1.37 to 1.80. These results increase our understanding of the relationships among RI, SS, runoff, and soil losses from weathered granite hillslopes, particularly the relationships between different hydraulic parameters and sediment size characteristics. Cancer is a serious threat to human health. With the increasing resistance to known drugs, it is still urgent to find new drugs or pro-drugs with anti-tumor effects. Natural products produced by microorganisms have played an important role in the history of drug discovery, particularly in the anticancer and anti-infective areas. The plant rhizosphere ecosystem is a rich resource for the discovery of actinomycetes with potential applications in pharmaceutical science, especially Streptomyces. We screened Streptomyces-like strains from the rhizosphere soil of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in Hebei province, China, and thirty-nine strains were obtained. Among them, the extracts of 14 isolates inhibited the growth of colon tumor cell line HCT-116. Strain NEAU-wh-3-1 exhibited better inhibitory activity, and its active ingredients were further studied. Then, 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity studies showed that strain NEAU-wh3-1 with high sequence similarities to Embleya scabrispora DSM 41855T (99.65%), Embleya hyalina MB891-A1T (99.45%), and Streptomyces lasii 5H-CA11T (98.62%). Moreover, multilocus sequence analysis based on the five other house-keeping genes (atpD, gyrB, rpoB, recA, and trpB) and polyphasic taxonomic approach comprising chemotaxonomic, phylogenetic, morphological, and physiological characterization indicated that the isolate should be assigned to the genus Embleya and was different from its closely related strains, therefore, it is proposed that strain NEAU-wh3-1 may be classified as representatives of a novel species of the genus Embleya. Furthermore, active substances in the fermentation broth of strain NEAU-wh-3-1 were isolated by bioassay-guided analysis and identified by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and mass spectrometry (MS) analyses. Consequently, one new Zincophorin analogue together with seven known compounds was detected. The new compound showed highest antitumor activity against three human cell lines with the 50% inhibition (IC50) values of 8.8–11.6 μg/mL and good antibacterial activity against four pathogenic bacteria, the other known compounds also exhibit certain biological activity. Soil erosion by water destroys the physical protection of carbon in soil aggregates and accelerates decomposition, thus impacting soil organic carbon stocks and making the soil barren. Runoff process and lateral transport of soil total carbon were studied using sloping flumes in an artificial rainfall simulator. The flumes were filled with soil collected from the surface horizon, the underlying laterite horizon, and the deeper sand horizon, three portions of a weathered granite soil profile. The results showed that the initial runoff-yielding time was faster under large rainfall intensities and steep slope gradients. The runoff process on sand soil slopes showed a trend of increasing with the increase of rainfall duration, while the trend on surface soil slopes and laterite soil slopes were mainly increasing rapidly and then stable. The volume of overland flow on surface soil slopes was the largest under the same conditions, with an average value of 14,259 mL, while it was the smallest on sand soil slopes. There was no interflow on surface soil slopes, and the interflow curves of the sandy soil slopes and the laterite soil slopes were all single-peak curves. The TC concentration curves of overland flow on sand soil slopes presented a high initial concentration and were then decreasing to a stable state, but the trends on laterite soil slopes and surface soil slopes was not obvious. The TC concentration curves of interflow on sand soil slopes and laterite soil slopes were similar to those of the runoff process curves, and the TC concentration on laterite soil slopes peaked faster. The TC loss gross amount on sand soil slopes and laterite soil slopes was much larger than that on surface soil slopes. Sediment was the main carrier of TC on sandy soil slopes, which TC loss with sediment was more than 50% in each rainfall test. Runoff was the main carrier of TC on laterite soil slopes and surface soil slopes; TC loss with runoff was above 60% on surface soil slopes. At the same time, partial correlation coefficients showed that rainfall intensity was the most important factor affecting TC loss. Background: Several recent studies reported the potential adverse effects of titanium exposure on glucose homeostasis among the non-pregnant population, but the association of titanium exposure with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is scarce., Methods: The present study of 1,449 pregnant women was conducted within the Jiangsu Birth Cohort (JBC) study in China. Urine samples were collected in the early pregnancy, and urinary titanium concentration and non-targeted metabolomics were measured. Poisson regression estimated the association of titanium exposure in the early pregnancy with subsequent risk of GDM. Multiple linear regression screened for titanium-related urine metabolites. Mediation analyses assessed the mediating effects of candidate metabolites and pathways., Results: As parameterized in tertiles, titanium showed positive dose-response relationship with GDM risk (P for trend = 0.008), with women at the highest tertile of titanium exposure having 30% increased risk of GDM [relative risk (RR) = 1.30 (95% CI: 1.06, 1.61)] when compared to those exposure at the first tertile level. Meanwhile, we identified the titanium-related metabolites involved in four amino acid metabolic pathways. Notably, the perturbation of the aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis and alanine, aspartate and glutamate metabolism mediated 27.1% and 31.0%, respectively, of the relative effect of titanium exposure on GDM. Specifically, three titanium-related metabolites, choline, creatine and L-alanine, demonstrated predominant mediation effects on the association between titanium exposure and GDM risk., Conclusions: In this prospective study, we uniquely identified a correlation between early pregnancy titanium exposure and increased GDM risk. We unveiled novel insights into how perturbations in amino acid metabolism may mediate the link between titanium exposure and GDM. Notably, choline, creatine, and L-alanine emerged as key mediators influencing this association. Background: The recent Maternal Immune Activation (MIA) theory suggests maternal systemic inflammation may serve as a mediator in associations between prenatal maternal adversities and neurodevelopmental diseases in offspring. Given the co-exposure to multiple adversities may be experienced by pregnant person, it is unclear whether a quantitative index can be developed to characterize the inflammation related exposure level, and whether this index is associated with neurodevelopmental delays in offspring., Methods: Based on Jiangsu Birth Cohort (JBC), a total of 3051 infants were included in the analysis. Inflammation related Prenatal Adversity Index (IPAI) was constructed using maternal data. Neurodevelopmental outcomes were assessed using the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development, third edition, screening test in one year. Multivariate linear regression and Poisson regression model were performed to analyze the associations between IPAI and neurodevelopment in offspring., Results: Compared with "low IPAI" group, offspring with "high IPAI" have lower scores of cognition, receptive communication, expressive communication, and fine motor. The adjusted β were - 0.23 (95%CI: -0.42, -0.04), -0.47 (95%CI: -0.66, -0.28), -0.30 (95%CI: -0.49, -0.11), and - 0.20 (95%CI: -0.33, -0.06). Additionally, the elevated risk for noncompetent development of cognition and receptive communication among "high IPAI" group was observed. The relative risk [RR] and 95% confidence interval [CI] were 1.35 (1.01, 1.69) and 1.37 (1.09, 1.72)., Conclusions: Our results revealed a significant association between higher IPAI and lower scores across cognition, receptive communication, expressive communication, and fine motor domains, and an increased risk of noncompetent development in the cognition and receptive communication domains., (© 2024. Prenatal exposures to toxic metals and trace elements have been linked to childhood neurodevelopment. However, existing evidence remains inconclusive, and further research is needed to investigate the mixture effects of multiple metal exposures on childhood neurodevelopment. We aimed to examine the associations between prenatal exposure to specific metals and metal mixtures and neurodevelopment in children. In this prospective cohort study, we used the multivariable linear regressions and the robust modified Poisson regressions to explore the associations of prenatal exposure to 25 specific metals with neurodevelopment among children at 3 years of age in 854 mother-child pairs from the Jiangsu Birth Cohort (JBC) Study. The Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) was employed to assess the joint effects of multiple metals on neurodevelopment. Prenatal manganese (Mn) exposure was negatively associated with the risk of non-optimal cognition development of children, while vanadium (V), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), antimony (Sb), cerium (Ce) and uranium (U) exposures were positively associated with the risk of non-optimal gross motor development. BKMR identified an interaction effect between Sb and Ce on non-optimal gross motor development. Additionally, an element risk score (ERS), representing the mixture effect of multiple metal exposures including V, Cu, Zn, Sb, Ce and U was constructed based on weights from a Poisson regression model. Children with ERS in the highest tertile had higher probability of non-optimal gross motor development (RR = 2.37, 95 % CI: 1.15, 4.86) versus those at the lowest tertile. Notably, Sb [conditional-posterior inclusion probabilities (cPIP) = 0.511] and U (cPIP = 0.386) mainly contributed to the increased risk of non-optimal gross motor development. The findings highlight the importance of paying attention to the joint effects of multiple metals on children's neurodevelopment. Importance: Maternal hypertensive disorder in pregnancy (HDP) might affect ocular health in offspring; however, its association with strabismus remains unclear., Objective: To examine the association of maternal HDP with overall and type-specific strabismus in offspring., Design, Setting, and Participants: In the Jiangsu Birth Cohort study, a population-based study in China, pregnant women were recruited from April 24, 2014, to November 30, 2018. A total of 6195 offspring had maternal HDP diagnosis information, of whom 3078 were excluded due to having no information on ocular alignment or due to having ocular diseases other than strabismus or refractive error. Offspring underwent ocular examinations at 3 years of age, completed May 21, 2022. Data were analyzed from May 28, 2022, through December 15, 2023., Exposure: Maternal HDP, categorized into hypertension and preeclampsia or with blood pressure (BP) well controlled (systolic BP, <130; diastolic BP, <80 mm Hg) and poorly controlled (systolic BP, ≥130; diastolic BP, ≥80 mm Hg)., Main Outcomes and Measures: The primary outcome was the incidence of strabismus in offspring. Poisson generalized linear mixed models were used to estimate the association between maternal HDP and strabismus., Results: Among the included 3117 children (mean [SD] age, 36.30 [0.74] months; 1629 boys [52.3%]), 143 (4.6%) were exposed to maternal HDP and 368 (11.8%) had strabismus. Offspring exposed to maternal HDP had an 82% increased risk of overall strabismus (relative risk [RR], 1.82 [95% CI, 1.21-2.74]), an 82% increased risk of exophoria (RR, 1.82 [95% CI, 1.11-3.00]), and a 136% increased risk of intermittent exotropia (RR, 2.36 [95% CI, 1.13-4.93]) compared with unexposed offspring. When considering the type of maternal HDP, the risk for all strabismus was high for offspring exposed to preeclampsia (RR, 2.38 [95% CI, 1.39-4.09]) compared with unexposed offspring. When considering the BP control level of maternal HDP, the risk for all strabismus was high for offspring born to mothers with HDP and poorly controlled BP (RR, 2.07 [95% CI, 1.32-3.24]) compared with unexposed offspring., Conclusions and Relevance: These findings suggest that maternal HDP is associated with an increased risk of offspring strabismus. Early screening of strabismus might be recommended for offspring with maternal HDP. Further exploration of the underlying mechanism of the association between HDP and strabismus is warranted.

Soil total carbon (TC), phosphorus (P), and nitrogen (N) exports from the weathered granite slopes are greatly influenced by the complex hydrological processes and terrain factors. In this study, the coupling loss characteristics of N-P-C via runoff and sediment were studied with two soil tanks under simulated rainfalls. Three soils respectively derived from the tillage layer (T-soil), laterite layer (L-soil), and sand layer (S-soil) were employed to determine the interactions of hydrology and topography on N-P-C exports under three rainfall intensities (1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 mm/min). The erosion degree of different soils displayed an order of S-soil > L-soil > T-soil. The results showed that surface flow was the main runoff form for L- and T-soil, while underground flow was predominant for S-soil. There was a linear correlation between sediment and surface flow (R 2 > 0.78). Surface flow was the dominant pathway of P loss via runoff with underground flow being an important supplementation, and the main P loss pattern switched between dissolved phosphorus (DP) and particle phosphorus (PP) during the experiment. However, P lost via eroded sediment accounted for more than 94% of the TP loss amount. N presented an opposite trend to P and was mainly lost via underground flow. The main N loss form in surface and underground flow was NO 3 -N. Underground flow was the predominant total nitrogen (TN) loss pathway for S- and L-soil, followed by sediment and surface flow. For T-soil, TN lost via runoff was much greater than that carried by eroded sediment. TC for S-soil was mainly lost via underground flow while that for L- and T-soil was mostly lost via surface flow. Both N-P loss loads in surface flow and P loss load in underground flow were positively correlated with TC loss load (p < 0.05), indicating that the presence of organic matter brings about more nutrient losses. These results expand our understanding of the combined effects of rainfall intensity and erosion degree on runoff and sediment yields as well as N-P-C losses from the bare weathered granite slopes of SE China.- -N. A novel actinobacterium, designated strain NEAU-C40 T , was isolated from the rhizosphere soil of rice ( Oryza sativa L.) collected from Northeast Agricultural University in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, north-east PR China, and was characterized using a polyphasic approach. On the basis of results of 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, strain NEAU-C40 T belongs to the genus Streptomyces , and shares highest sequence similarities with Streptomyces polygonati CGMCC 4.7237 T (97.9%) and Streptomyces abietis DSM 42080 T (97.9%). Morphological and chemotaxonomic characteristics of the strain also supported its assignment to the genus Streptomyces . Cell walls contained ll-diaminopimelic acid and the whole-cell hydrolysates were glucose, rhamnose and ribose. The major menaquinones were identified as MK-9(H 8 ) and MK-9(H 6 ). The major fatty acids were iso-C 16:0 , anteiso-C 15:0 , C 16:0 and anteiso-C 17:0 . The polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylinositol mannoside and an unidentified lipid. The genomic DNA G+C content of strain NEAU-C40 T was 71.8 mol%. Moreover, multilocus sequence analysis based on five other housekeeping genes ( atp D , gyr B , rpo B , rec A and trp B ) and the low level of DNA-DNA relatedness allowed the isolate to be differentiated from its most closely related strains. On the basis of phenotypic, genotypic and phylogenetic data, strain NEAU-C40 T can be characterized to represent a novel species of the genus Streptomyces , for which the name Streptomyces oryziradicis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is NEAU-C40 T (=DSM 107943 T =CCTCC AA 2018038 T ).

The method of indoor artificial rainfall simulations was applied to compare the characteristics of runoff and sediment yield under different slope gradients (5°, 8°, 15°, and 25°) and rainfall intensities (30, 60, 90, 120, and 150 mm/h) for two kinds of different hillslopes with weathered granite and with exposed soils respectively from the laterite layer (L-soil) and sand layer (S-soil). The results show that the distribution of runoff yield significantly varied with soil types as the surface flow was predominant for L-soil while interflow was the main runoff form for S-soil. Both surface flow and sediment yield of L-soil was more than that of S-soil, and the changing trends for L-soil were more regular. The relationships between surface flow, sediment yield, and rainfall intensity can be expressed by power functions (R 2  > 0.68). Interflow was positively related to slope gradient and displayed a single peak curve with the prolongation of runoff time. For S-soil, the surface flow increased with increasing slope gradient under light rainfall intensities but showed a decreasing trend under heavy rainfall intensities. Surface flow for L-soil showed a decreasing trend with increasing slope gradient under all rainfall intensities. The combined effects of slope gradient and rainfall intensity on runoff and sediment yield could be accurately described by linear correlation equations (R 2  > 0.59). The impact of rainfall intensity on surface flow and sediment yield was much greater than that of slope gradient. Slope gradient presented a more significant effect on interflow. The eroded sediment consisted of a relatively higher content of clay, silt, and fine sand, which was approximately 1.26 times greater than the original soils. There was a grading limit of particle size (0.25 mm) for sediment transport. These results not only demonstrate the effects of rainfall intensity and slope gradient on sloping runoff and sediment yield but also provide valuable information for loss prediction and conservation of soil and water.

A Gram-stain-positive, aerobic, heterotrophic, non-spore-forming and rod-shaped strain, designated SJ-23 T , was isolated from rhizosphere soil of wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.) collected from Langfang, Hebei Province, central PR China and characterized using a polyphasic approach. Morphological and chemotaxonomic characteristics were consistent with those of members of the genus Agromyces . The polar lipids consisted of diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, glycolipid and three unidentified lipids. The predominant menaquinones detected were MK-12, MK-11 and MK-10. Major fatty acids were identified as anteiso-C 17 : 0 , anteiso-C 15 : 0 and iso-C 16 : 0 . The 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed that strain SJ-23 T belongs to the genus Agromyces with high sequence similarities to Agromyces ramosus DSM 43045 T (99.2 %), Agromycescerinus subsp. cerinus DSM 8595 T (98.8 %) and Agromyces cerinus subsp. nitratus DSM 8596 T (98.6 %). Results of phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that the strain formed a separate branch in the genus Agromyces . Furthermore, the combination of DNA-DNA hybridization results and some phenotypic characteristics demonstrated that strain SJ-23 T could be distinguished from its closest relatives. Therefore, it is proposed that strain SJ-23 T represents a novel species of the genus Agromyces , for which the name Agromycestardus sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is SJ-23 T (=CGMCC 4.7419 T =DSM 105049 T ).

A novel Gram-stain positive, spore-forming, aerobic actinomycete, designated strain NEAU-QTH3-11 T , was isolated from muddy soil collected from a stream in Qitaihe, Heilongjiang Province, northeast China and characterised using a polyphasic approach. The 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed that strain NEAU-QTH3-11 T belongs to the genus Streptomyces and is closely related to Streptomyces rhizosphaerihabitans NBRC 109807 T (99.38%) and Streptomyces mirabilis JCM 4791 T (99.03%). Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that the strain formed a cluster with S. rhizosphaerihabitans NBRC 109807 T and Streptomyces siamensis NBRC 108799 T (98.62%). The menaquinones were identified as MK-9(H 8 ), MK-9(H 6 ) and MK-9(H 4 ). The phospholipid profile was found to consist of diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylinositol, an unidentified phospholipid and an unidentified lipid. The major fatty acids were identified as anteiso-C 15:0 , iso-C 16:0 , C 16:0 and C 15:0 . However, multilocus sequence analysis based on five house-keeping genes (atpD, gyrB, rpoB, recA and trpB), low DNA-DNA hybridization results and some phenotypic, physiological and biochemical properties could differentiate the strain from its close relatives in the genus Streptomyces. Therefore, strain NEAU-QTH3-11 T is considered to represent a novel species of the genus Streptomyces, for which the name Streptomyces lutosisoli sp. nov. is proposed, with NEAU-QTH3-11 T (=DSM 42165 T =CGMCC 4.7198 T ) as the type strain.
