Background: Early identification of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) resistance contributes to better management of Kawasaki disease (KD). This study aims to establish an effective prediction model for IVIG resistance in the Chinese population. Methods: A total of 658 eligible patients diagnosed with KD were enrolled in this study, with 461 in the training cohort and 197 in the validation cohort. The demographic characteristics and potential risk factors were compared between IVIG-responsive and resistant groups. Predictors were selected by the Akaike information criterion. The nomogram's performance was evaluated by calibration curve, decision curve analysis, and operating characteristic curve. Results: White blood cell counts (WBC), neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (N/L ratio), hematocrit (HCT), albumin (ALB), total bilirubin (TBIL), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and creatinine (Cr) were detected as predictors of IVIG resistance. A predictive nomogram incorporating these predictors was constructed using the training cohort. The calibration curve and decision curve analysis showed good discrimination and calibration of the proposed nomogram in both training and validation sets, and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) in both sets was 75.8% and 74.2%, respectively. Conclusion: This study identified WBC, N/L ratio, HCT, ALB, TBIL, LDH, and Cr as predictors for IVIG resistance in patients with KD. Crown width (CW) is an important individual tree variable commonly used to assess tree vigor and the production efficiency of stands. However, our understanding of the effects of climate and the combined effects of climate with competition on the variation of CW remains unknown. Therefore, this study developed CW models by nonlinear mixed-effects (NLME) to explore these effects. Data were obtained from Korean pine (Pinus koraiensis Siebold and Zucc.) plantations in five forestry agencies in northeastern China. The results showed that stand basal area (BA), height to crown base (HCB), isothermality (BIO3), and annual precipitation (BIO12) were significantly related to the variations of CW. CW increased with increasing BIO12, while decreased with increasing BA, HCB, and BIO3. The hierarchical partitioning (HP) analysis showed that the relative importance of BIO3 was larger than BA, HCB, and BIO12. In addition, we found that competition altered the variations of CW responses to climate. Competition, tree size, and climate CW model (CC-CWM) performed the best performance in model fitting and prediction accuracy. Therefore, CC-CWM was selected to predict CW under future climate change. By comparing the eleven sampling methods with eighteen sample sizes, it was reasonable to select six medium-trees to estimate the random effect parameters. Our study provides evidence of the effects of climate and the combined effects of competition and climate on the variations of CW, potentially useful for the development of rational and scientific forest management decisions under future climate changes. Nickel–iron slag, a byproduct of industrial processes in China with an annual production exceeding 400,000 tons, is considered an industrial waste material. This study focuses on the rational utilization of nickel–iron slag by investigating its mechanical properties and road performance as a roadbed fill material. Initially, a detailed analysis of the grading curve of pure nickel–iron slag was conducted, leading to the proposal of various modification schemes for nickel–iron slag. Subsequently, static triaxial tests were performed on nickel–iron slag-clay mixtures to explore the impact of different factors on the stress–strain curve of nickel–iron slag-modified soil. Utilizing these discoveries, a formula for the molar Coulomb shear strength of nickel–iron slag-modified soil was derived. In addition, a numerical simulation study of a nickel–iron slag-reinforced embankment was conducted, integrating field tests. This aimed to investigate the variations in the compression layer sedimentation-thickness ratio and settlement factor of nickel–iron slag-modified soil reinforced embankment under different filling heights and slope rates. The results informed the development of a prediction model for the settlement ratio of nickel–iron slag-modified soil-reinforced embankment. Key findings indicate that pure nickel–iron slag exhibits poorly graded gravel sand characteristics, and optimal gradation is achieved when clay doping ranges from 30% to 40%. As the clay content increases, the stress–strain curve of nickel–iron slag-clay transitions from strain-hardening to strain-softening. Furthermore, the stress–strain curve of nickel–iron slag-cement-clay exhibits strain-softening, and the shear strength fitting formula demonstrates high computational accuracy with a small error range. Numerical simulations reveal that the sink-thickness ratio and settlement factor are minimally affected by the slope rate. The sink-thickness ratio increases with the elevation of filling height, while the settlement factor fluctuates within a small range. The proposed sink-thickness ratio prediction model exhibits high accuracy and strong generalization capabilities. BACKGROUND Although hydrogen gas (H2) has been widely used in industry and gradually used in medicine, it is less applied to agriculture, especially in modified atmosphere packing (MAP). RESULTS: During chicken egg storage, H2 MAP not only slowed down or delayed the reduction in antioxidant capacities, but also alleviated the deterioration of egg quality. The extent of micro‐cracks in the eggshell was also negatively influenced by H2, which might result in eggs being less vulnerable to microbes. The earlier results demonstrated that the H2 MAP‐extended shelf life of chicken eggs might be caused by the responses of eggshell and re‐establishment of redox homeostasis. According to the data collected from different provinces of China, cost‐economics analysis further suggested that the increase in the extra cost caused by H2 was trivial compared with the original price of eggs. Bighead carp Hypophthalmichthys nobilis and silver carp Hypophthalmichthys molitrix have been two economically important aquaculture species in China for centuries. In the past decades, bighead and silver carp have been introduced from the Yangtze River to many river systems in China, including the Pearl River, in annual, large‐scale, stocking activities to enhance wild fisheries. Nonetheless, few studies have assessed the ecological or genetic impacts of such introductions on native conspecific fish populations. An mtDNA D‐loop segment of 978 bp from 213 bighead carp samples from 9 populations and a 975 bp segment from 204 silver carp samples from 10 populations were obtained to evaluate genetic diversity and population integrity. Results from a haplotype network analysis revealed that most haplotypes of the Pearl River clustered with those of Yangtze River origin and only a small proportion were distinct, suggesting that both the native Pearl River bighead and silver carp populations are currently dominated by genetic material from the Yangtze River. The genetic diversity of Pearl River populations is high in both species because of this inter‐population gene flow, but the diversity of native Pearl River populations is low. To preserve the native genetic diversity, stocking of non‐native fingerlings should cease immediately and native Pearl River bighead and silver carp fish farms should be established. Surgery remains the first choice of cure for early stage lung cancer. However, many patients are diagnosed at advanced stage, and thus miss the opportunity to undergo surgery. As such patients derive limited benefits from chemotherapy or radiotherapy, alternatives focusing on local control have emerged, including iodine‐125 seed implantation. The Interstitial Brachytherapy Society, Committee of Minimally Invasive Therapy in Oncology, Chinese Anti‐Cancer Association organized a group of multidisciplinary experts to develop guidelines for this treatment modality. The aim of this study is to develop expert consensus statement for recommendations of patient selection criteria, prescription dose, and procedure of computed tomography (CT)-guided 125I radioactive seeds permanent interstitial brachytherapy. Members of Chinese medical association radiation oncology branch, Chinese medical association radiation therapy professional committee, Chinese cancer society minimally invasive surgery branch seed therapy group, Chinese geriatric cancer society minimally invasive surgery branch, Beijing medical association radiation oncology professional committee, China northern radioactive seeds brachytherapy group formed a committee, which consists of physician members who come from the department of radiation oncology, surgery, intervention, internal medicine, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The leader of the group organized experts to write the first draft based on clinical experience and literature review and then sent the draft to the commissioner for consultation, finally reached a consensus. Guidelines for patient selection criteria, prescription dose of 125I seed for different kinds of carcinomas, activity of per seed, and workflow of CT-guided permanent interstitial radioactive seed implantation (RSI) are presented in this study. The procedure of CT-guided RSI comprised eight steps: indication selection, preoperative preparation, preoperative CT simulation and position setup, preplan, intraoperative needle insertion, RSI, postoperative dosimetric evaluation, and follow-up. Patient selection criteria are developed. A new grey incidence model, called the grey dynamic trend incidence model GDTIM(t) , is designed to broaden the scope of this type of model. In particular, a degree of the grey trend incidence, an array and a matrix of the grey dynamic trend incidence are obtained from two data sets which include both time series and panel data, by using the GDTIM(t) model. The new model includes two parts. One component is a judgment factor which is used to determine whether the trend of two sequences is the same or different. The other part is a measurement factor for calculating the absolute degree of grey trend incidence. Then, the properties of the model GDTIM(t) are discussed. Two extended models based on GDTIM(t) , which are utilized for application to panel data, are established. One is for calculating the connection between indicators, and the other one is for different objects. Dissolved black carbon (DBC), the water-soluble component of black carbon, which is formed by incomplete combustion of fossil fuels or biochar, takes up about 10% of dissolved organic matter (DOM) in river water. However, the distribution of DBC in water environment especially in source water is not clear and as an important component of DOM, whether DBC can produce disinfection byproducts (DBPs) like other DOM during disinfection remains unknown. In this study, the DBC concentrations in seventeen source water samples from East China were measured. The concentrations of DBC in the source water samples ranged from 60 to 270 μg/L, which were positively correlated with UV 254 absorbance and chemical oxygen demand. The levels of DBC in wet season were higher than that in dry season. The average concentrations of DBC in different types of source water samples followed the order of reservoir > canal > lake > river. DBC could only be removed by 20% during the simulated coagulation, and further generate different categories of DBPs during chlorination, among which the concentrations of haloacetic acids (HAA) were the highest. The results indicated that DBC widely distributes in source water and is an important precursor of HAAs and THMs during chlorination. Abstract: Groundwater contamination risk assessment is an effective tool for groundwater management. Most existing risk assessment methods only consider the basic contamination process based upon evaluations of hazards and aquifer vulnerability. In view of groundwater exploitation potentiality, including the value of contamination-threatened groundwater could provide relatively objective and targeted results to aid in decision making. This study describes a groundwater contamination risk assessment method that integrates hazards, intrinsic vulnerability and groundwater value. The hazard harmfulness was evaluated by quantifying contaminant properties and infiltrating contaminant load, the intrinsic aquifer vulnerability was evaluated using a modified DRASTIC model and the groundwater value was evaluated based on groundwater quality and aquifer storage. Two groundwater contamination risk maps were produced by combining the above factors: a basic risk map and a value-weighted risk map. The basic risk map was produced by overlaying the hazard map and the intrinsic vulnerability map. The value-weighted risk map was produced by overlaying the basic risk map and the groundwater value map. Relevant validation was completed by contaminant distributions and site investigation. Using Beijing Plain, China, as an example, thematic maps of the three factors and the two risks were generated. The thematic maps suggested that landfills, gas stations and oil depots, and industrial areas were the most harmful potential contamination sources. The western and northern parts of the plain were the most vulnerable areas and had the highest groundwater value. Additionally, both the basic and value-weighted risk classes in the western and northern parts of the plain were the highest, indicating that these regions should deserve the priority of concern. Thematic maps should be updated regularly because of the dynamic characteristics of hazards. Subjectivity and validation means in assessing the vulnerability result were also discussed. Abstract: Futures trading is the core of futures business, and it is considered as one of the typical complex systems. To investigate the complexity of futures trading, we employ the analytical method of complex networks. First, we use real trading records from the Shanghai Futures Exchange to construct futures trading networks, in which nodes are trading participants, and two nodes have a common edge if the two corresponding investors appear simultaneously in at least one trading record as a purchaser and a seller, respectively. Then, we conduct a comprehensive statistical analysis on the constructed futures trading networks. Empirical results show that the futures trading networks exhibit features such as scale-free behavior with interesting odd–even-degree divergence in low-degree regions, small-world effect, hierarchical organization, power-law betweenness distribution, disassortative mixing, and shrinkage of both the average path length and the diameter as network size increases. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work that uses real data to study futures trading networks, and we argue that the research results can shed light on the nature of real futures business. The Ordos Basin is rich in tight oil resources, and the Upper Triassic Yanchang Formation tight oil reservoir is one of the most important exploration targets. In the study area, the Chang 6 3 tight sandstone reservoir exhibits lacustrine deep-water lobe-shaped delta deposits with low porosity, low permeability and a complex diagenetic alteration history. The reservoir quality is extremely heterogeneous because of the heterogeneity of the depositional lithofacies and diagenetic alterations. This research integrates multiple techniques to investigate the depositional lithofacies, the characteristics and distributions of various diagenetic alterations, and their controls on reservoir quality. Four lithofacies are identified, and the various lithofacies have different diagenetic characteristics and diverse reservoir qualities. The Chang 6 3 tight sandstone reservoir has experienced significant diagenetic alteration. Mechanical compaction and authigenic illite are the most important causes of the decrease in reservoir quality. Carbonate cementation preferentially occurs in sandstones of lithofacies "i" and "ii" near the mudstone-sandstone contact surfaces. Sandstones within 1 m of adjacent mudstone-sandstone contact surfaces are usually tightly cemented by carbonate cement. Illite can be divided into two types according to its morphology. Both types of illite lead to a decrease in reservoir quality. Ultimately, by combining the relationship between depositional facies and lithofacies with the distribution of different diagenetic processes, five evolutionary patterns are identified for reservoir quality in the lacustrine deep-water lobe-shaped delta deposits can be summarized by ratings of best, moderate, relatively poor, poor and worst. This study aims to reveal the multi-scale characteristics of precipitation and its response relationship with El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and Arctic Oscillation (AO) in Shandong province of China. Historical total monthly precipitation data of 21 meteorological stations in the research region from 1961 to 2017 were preprocessed firstly by wavelet power spectrum for analyzing the intensity of oscillations in different time-frequency scales. The results of wavelet power spectrum reveal that the 12-month periodicity was significant of precipitation. Then, the ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) was used to analyse the periodicity of precipitation, the precipitation time series was decomposed into 8 IMFs (Intrinsic Mode Function, IMF) and 1 residual, the significance test of IMFs shows that the annual periodicity oscillation is stronger than the interdecadal periodicity. The results reveal that the period of IMF2 was 12-month through the fast Fourier transform analysis, and the periodicity passed the significance test of 99%. Finally, the cross wavelet analysis and wavelet coherence were used to analyse the resonance periodicity and coherence of precipitation with ENSO and AO in different time-frequency scales. The results show that ENSO and precipitation were mainly in negative phase, and the resonance periodicity of 12-month and 32-64 months were strong. Simultaneously, the phase relationship between AO and precipitation is complicated, the resonance periodicity of 12 months was strong too. This research preliminarily explores of the multi-scale characteristics of precipitation in Shandong province of China, which can provide some references for precipitation prediction and water resources utilization in this region. Global warming, mainly caused by rising carbon dioxide (CO 2) emissions in the atmosphere, has led to severe effects worldwide. Hence, reducing carbon emissions has become an urgent need to mitigate the adverse effects. To do so, accurately forecasting CO 2 emissions is crucial for policymakers in formulating climate and energy policies. Existing CO 2 emission forecast models rely on various longitudinal economy, energy or environment data collected at the same periods, e.g., yearly, as indicators. However, these data usually come from diverse sources with different sampling frequencies, e.g., monthly vs. daily. Therefore, in this paper, we introduce for the first time a Mixed-frequency data Sampling Grey system Model (MSGM) that can exploit the potential information in high-frequency sampling (HF) data of economic and social indicators to effectively forecast annual CO 2 emissions. In MSGM, (1) we directly model low-frequency CO 2 emissions and HF economic-energy influence indicators without undertaking same-frequency conversion, thereby avoiding potential information loss and enhancing prediction accuracy; (2) we introduce polynomial weight functions to address the frequency mismatch, and its parameters are obtained through search optimization algorithms; (3) unlike existing grey system models, the whitening equation of MSGM adopts a reduced-order form to address the exponential explosion issue caused by HF data accumulation; (4) the time and cumulative terms are also introduced separately to explore the effects of temporal development and historical data on future CO 2 emissions. Extensive Monte-Carlo simulations show that MSGM exhibits high accuracy on both training and testing datasets and outperforms many other state-of-the-art rival techniques like MIDAS, AR-MIDAS, AMTGM, MLRM, BPNN, SVR, ARIMA and TVGBM. We further demonstrate the potential of MSGM to forecast China's CO 2 emissions under three distinct scenarios. Out-of-sample forecasting results indicate that only under a tight-contraction scenario does the growth rate of CO 2 emissions decrease. Tight oil is a significant component of unconventional oil and gas resources. The pore structures of tight oil reservoirs determine the seepage law, which is a significant factor in evaluating reservoir quality. However, because of the strong heterogeneity of the pore structure in tight oil reservoirs, it is difficult to characterize the pore structure by conventional methods. Therefore, on the basis of conventional reservoirs research methods, combined with high-pressure mercury intrusion (HPMI) and constant-pressure mercury intrusion (CPMI), the pore-throat size distribution of tight sandstone reservoirs and its control on reservoir physical properties were studied. The main pore types in the study area were residual intergranular pores, secondary intragranular pores, intercrystalline micropores and microfractures, and throat types were sheet-like and tube throats. The pore-throat size distribution characterized by HPMI ranges from 0.0025 to 2.79 μm, and pore-throats larger than 10 μm occurred less frequently. The pore size distribution characterized by CPMI was between 90 and 350 μm, and the peak value distribution of the pore radius of the different samples was relatively concentrated, while the throat size distribution was between 0.12 and 6 μm, indicating that the throat radius of the different samples showed a strong heterogeneity, which also led to a strong heterogeneity of pore-throat radius ratio. Although HPMI and CPMI had their own limitations in characterizing the pore-throat size distribution, their combination could effectively characterize the whole pore-throat size distribution of tight reservoirs, which ranged from 0.0025 to 350 μm. The permeability of the tight sandstone reservoirs is primarily determined by the relatively wider pore-throats with small proportions, and the permeability decreased as the proportion of narrower pore-throats increased. The nanoscale pore throats (radius < 0.1 μm) were widely developed in the tight reservoirs, which had little influence on permeability, but these pore throats could be used as oil and gas storage spaces and played an important role in improving reservoir porosity. • The pore-throat size scales spanned from nanometer to several hundred microns. • The combination of HPMI and CPMI could effectively characterize the whole-distribution characteristics of the pore-throat size. • The porosity was not only controlled by the wider pore throats, but the nanoscale pore throats (radius < 0.1 μm) also contributed, while the permeability was controlled by relatively wider pore throats with a small proportion. Background: Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) has never been applied in Chinese clinical practice, and the distribution of NPD in the clinical population of China is largely unknown. The current study uses two-stage clinic-based screening to investigate the frequency and clinical features of NPD in a Chinese help-seeking sample. Methods: A total of 1402 consecutive outpatients ages 18–60 were recruited during their visit to the Shanghai Mental Health Center and screened with the Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire Fourth Edition Plus (PDQ-4+) and Structured Clinical Interview for the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) Axis II (SCID-II). The structured clinical interview was administered to estimate the rate of NPD and the frequency of each disorder criterion. Results: The frequency estimate of NPD in the total sample was 4.0%. Among the 56 outpatients who met the criteria for NPD, there were more males than females, and many had a better educational background. The SCID-II interviews revealed high frequencies of diagnostic criterion 1 ("exaggerated sense of self-importance. NPD likely overlaps with Histrionic PD, Borderline PD, and Paranoid PD. This two stage screening method can enhance detection of Chinese NPD patients in clinical settings. Conclusions: Narcissism pathology is not rare in the Chinese psychiatric community when using the DSM-IV NPD criteria. Astragalus membranaceus var. mongholicus (Astragalus) is a perennial medicinal plant belonging to Leguminosae. Its main agronomic and industrial interest is the accumulation of astragaloside IV and calycosin‐7‐O‐β‐D‐glucoside in roots, two components that play crucial pharmacological roles in the finished pharmaceutical products. Phenological research is a prerequisite for improving the yield quality of cultivated medicinal plants. However, there are no standardized phenological studies on Astragalus. To expand phenotyping knowledge on this medicinal plant, researchers and breeders need a universal scale to describe the development of this plant. This study aims to define the phenological growth stages of Astragalus, based on the existing Biologische Bundesanstalt, Bundessortenamt und Chemische Industrie (BBCH) scale to provide a standard scale for Astragalus, and grown under temperate conditions of production and climate, proposes a disease and pest control reference. This study was conducted in Inner Mongolia, North China. The existing BBCH scale with a three‐digit code was used to define Astragalus's phenological growth codes, supplemented with pictures. Phenological observations were performed twice monthly, based on the developmental stages. The chronology and duration of each stage were also observed and described according to the accumulation of degree days during the growing season. Based on the data obtained, the influence of the average temperature and GDD on the phenophases was evaluated. The phenological description is divided into two principal growth stages: five for vegetative growth (perennating bud, leaf development, formation of branches, main stem elongation and root development), four for reproductive growth (reproductive organ development, flowering, fruit development and fruit maturation), and one for senescence according to the BBCH scale. Seventy secondary growth stages were described within the 10 principal growth stages. Under each secondary growth stage, six mesostages are also taken into account, which contains the distinct patterns of the phenological characteristics in Astragalus varieties and the process of transplanting seedlings. A practical management program for disease and pest control was also proposed by using the BBCH code and the phenological data proposed in this work. Our study presents the first BBCH scale established for Astragalus cultivated in temperate conditions and a chronology of phenological stages based on the accumulation of thermal time, through growing degree day calculation. Tree architectural attributes demonstrate a significant association with fruit yield. Yellowhorn is the future bioenergy tree in China; however, the species suffers from high reproductive energy and exceedingly low reproductive output. To optimize yellowhorn management and pinpoint priority trees featuring optimal architecture, we employed machine learning modeling to develop high fruit yielding predictive models using five yield indicators (dependent variables: FrW, SeW, ShW, FrW, and SeN) and five tree characteristics (independent variables: CA, TH, DGL, HLC, and MBN) of yellowhorn. Results showed that trees characterized by a substantial canopy area (>1.70 m2) and a large diameter at ground level (>3.71 cm) have been found to yield a higher fruit production. However, increased tree height does not invariably correlate with an elevated yield. Effective selection of high‐yielding individuals can be accomplished by restricting tree height within the range of 192–232.4 cm. This approach emphasizes the importance of integrating considerations of tree architecture into forestry management practices. To assess the regional changes in corneal shape after femtosecond laser–assisted laser in situ keratomileusis (FS-LASIK) in patients with different myopia extents. Eye Hospital, Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou, China. Retrospective case series. A retrospective study of myopic eyes treated with FS-LASIK was conducted to assess the shape changes within different corneal regions after surgery. Corneal curvature was measured in the central region (0 mm to 3.0 mm diameter), pericentral region (3.0 mm to 6.0 mm diameter) and peripheral region (6.0 mm to 9.0 mm diameter) preoperatively and from 1 week to 6 months postoperatively. The study comprised 608 myopic eyes. During the 6-month follow-up, the anterior cornea became steeper in the central and pericentral regions, but flatter in the peripheral region (P <.01), representing a partial, gradual, yet significant reversal of the immediate change in corneal shape after laser ablation. In contrast, the posterior surface experienced significantly less change than the anterior surface, with the cornea becoming slightly flatter (P <.01) in the central region at 1 week postoperatively, and steeper elsewhere (P <.05), and then remaining stable during the rest of the follow-up. On the other hand, the anterior astigmatism had significant decreases in the central region (P <.01) and slight increases in the peripheral region (P <.01) 1 week postoperatively, and that remained stable over the follow-up period. In contrast, there were little or non-significant changes in the posterior astigmatism throughout the follow-up (P >.05). Postoperative corneal shape changes were different in different regions. There were shape changes in individual corneal regions during the 6-month follow-up period that represented reverse trends; however, the changes were much smaller than the short-term changes observed 1 week after surgery. Soil environmental quality assessment traditionally focuses on a single objective. Therefore, related results only reflect the pollution of the assessment objective and ignore the interaction and relationships between soil, ecology, and human health. In this study, we collected and filtered data about heavy metal content (Cr, Pb, Cd, Hg, As, Cu, Zn, and Ni) in city soils from more than 1000 published papers. Spatial multi-criteria decision-making theory was used to establish the combined evaluation model of soil environmental quality using the geochemical accumulation, ecological risk, non-carcinogenic risk, and carcinogenic risk indexes. Our results showed that the pollution degree and elements causing most pollution were significantly different when these different methods were used for assessment. The proposed framework was able to unify the overall pollution trend in regional soil environmental quality assessment and could output more robust and reasonable assessment results of soil, ecology, and human health. The random forest model was used to analyze the potential sources for excessive accumulation of heavy metal elements in soils, and the results showed that the main potential sources were the proportion of secondary industry and urbanization rate, each with an average contribution ratio of 20%. Intensive vegetable production has been characterized by high nitrogen (N) fertilizer input in southwest China. Optimizing the N fertilizer rate is the basis for the optimal management of regional N fertilizer. A two-year field experiment with five N fertilizer rates was conducted during 2019–2021 in southwest China, and the aim of this study was to identify the effects of different N application rates on yield, dry matter biomass (DMB), N uptake, N use efficiency (NUE) and soil mineral N (Nmin) residues for Chinese cabbage (Brassica chinensis L.) and further determine the critical plant N concentration and root-zone soil Nmin residues required to reach the maximum DMB of Chinese cabbage. Five N treatments were established: control without N input (CK); optimal N fertilizer rate decreased by 30% (70% OPT, 175 kg N ha−1), optimized N fertilizer rate (OPT, 250 kg N ha−1), optimal N fertilizer rate increased by 30% (130% OPT, 325 kg N ha−1) and farmers' N fertilizer practice (FP, 450 kg N ha−1). The N source in all treatments was conventional urea (N ≥ 46.2%). The results showed that the total yield of Chinese cabbage followed a "linear-plateau" trend with an increasing N fertilizer rate. There was no significant difference in yield between the OPT, 130% OPT and FP treatments. The aboveground plant DMB and N uptake showed a 'slow-fast-slow' pattern with the growth period. There was no significant difference in aboveground plant DMB and N uptake between the OPT, 130% OPT and FP treatments. Moreover, the OPT treatment significantly increased the aboveground plant DMB and N accumulation by 29.6% and 40.5%, respectively, compared with the 70% OPT treatment. The OPT treatment significantly increased the NUE by 23.8%, 31.2% and 43.1% compared with that in the 70% OPT, 130% OPT and FP treatments, respectively. The linear-plateau model provided the best fit for the relationship among aboveground DMB of Chinese cabbage, plant N concentration and root-zone soil Nmin content. The critical root-zone soil Nmin and plant N concentrations were 94.1, 63.4 and 68.3 kg ha−1 and 34.4, 33.5 and 32.9 g kg−1 during the rosette, heading and harvest periods, respectively. In summary, compared to the FP treatment, the optimized N fertilizer rate (250 kg N ha−1) could significantly reduce the N application rate, maintain yield, increase aboveground plant DMB and N uptake, and improve NUE. The degradation of organic matter in soils plays an important role in the carbon cycle. Lignin is the main source of soil organics and it can be used to trace the source, distribution and turnover of organic matter. In this study the distribution and degradation of lignin were investigated to identify the source and degradation of soil organic matter during the succession of China's Zoige Plateau. Lignin monomers were determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry with alkaline CuO oxidation and the soils' δ13C and δ15N contents were interpreted to explore the turnover rate of lignin and organic matter. The main source of organics was identified as C3 non-woody angiosperm tissues. Lignin in the topsoil (0–30 cm) was derived from litter and roots, and it then migrated vertically to the deep soil (30–80 cm). Correlations of δ13C/δ15N with the soil's elemental composition showed that the organics degraded more quickly in meadow soil than in bog soil. The soil communities in the meadow and bog soils were generally similar, but there were certain differences in the dominant microbial phyla at different depths. The meadow soil's effectiveness as a carbon sink was gradually weakened, while that of the bog soil strengthened with depth. These results provide a scientific basis for accurately assessing the carbon sink capacity of the soils in Zoige Plateau. Methods: Clinical data of eligible patients from 5 centers in China were retrospectively reviewed. A total of 126 patients between January 2016 and March 2019 were included. The median interval between previous radiotherapy and radioactive Iodine-125 seed implantation was calculated. The target volume was 2.1–128.1 cm3 (median, 22.2 cm3) and the median postoperative D90 is 120.6 Gy (range, 101.7–192). Short-term efficacy of tumor response, the long-term efficacy of local progression-free survival (LRFS) and overall survival (OS), and treatment-related toxicity were reported. Results: For tumor response, 37 (29.4%), 51 (40.5%), 14 (11.1%), and 24 (19.0%) patients achieved complete response, partial response, stable disease and progressive disease, respectively. The 1-, 2- and 3-year LPFS and OS rates were 48.8%, 23.0% and 15.9%, and 80.2%, 38.8%, and 24.5%, respectively. Multivariate analysis identified Karnofsky performance status (P = 0.041) and tumor response (P = 0.049) as independent prognostic factors for LPFS; initial tumor stage (P = 0.034), lesion volume (P = 0.017), and tumor response (P = 0.004) as independent prognostic factors for OS. In total, 77 (61.1%) patients suffered from skin reactions and the incidence of grade 3–5 skin toxicity was 5.6% (7/126). Conclusion: Radioactive Iodine-125 seed implantation seems efficient with acceptable toxicity for the treatment of lymph node recurrence secondary to esophageal cancer. Simple Summary: This paper describes the aquatic plants of Trapa L. and Hemitrapa Miki from the upper Eocene of Bailuyuan Formation in the Weihe Basin, central China. The discoveries represent the earliest known Trapa records in the world and the earliest Hemitrapa record in Asia. Furthermore, the new species identified in this study is the most reliable leaf fossil record of Trapa so far. These occurrences provide a new clue to investigate the origin of Trapa and its evolutionary relationships with Hemitrapa. The unexpected aquatic plant assemblage indicates that central China was warm and humid, with freshwater ponds or lakes, in the late Eocene. Both Trapa L. and the extinct Hemitrapa Miki are aquatic plants in the family Lythraceae, with abundant fossil records in Eurasia and North America in the Cenozoic. However, documented materials are mainly based on fruit and pollen grains without reliable leaf fossils. Here, we report fossil leaves, fruit, and roots of Trapa and fruit of Hemitrapa from the late Eocene of Weinan, the Weihe Basin of central China. The fossil leaves are identified as a new species, Trapa natanifolia Z. C. Han et H. Jia sp. nov., which represents the earliest known record of a Trapa leaf fossil. It is remarkably similar to extant species of Trapa, mostly due to the unique inflated petiole structures found in both of them. While displaying prominent intergeneric differences, the incomplete fossil fruits are assigned to Trapa sp. indet. and Hemitrapa sp. indet. The former is the earliest fossil fruit record of Trapa, and the latter represents the earliest fossil record of Hemitrapa found in Asia. These new fossil discoveries suggest that the divergence of Trapa and Hemitrapa occurred at least by the late Eocene. It is believed that modern Trapa most likely originated in China. Furthermore, this unexpected aquatic plant fossil assemblage indicates that central China was warm and humid, with freshwater ponds or lakes, in the late Eocene and not as arid as previously thought. As one of the oldest agricultural crops in China, millet (Panicum miliaceum) has powerful drought tolerance. In this study, transcriptome and metabolome analyses of 'Hequ Red millet' (HQ) and 'Yanshu No.10' (YS10) millet after 6 h of drought stress were performed. Transcriptome characteristics of drought stress in HQ and YS10 were characterized by Pacbio full-length transcriptome sequencing. The pathway analysis of the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) showed that the highly enriched categories were related to starch and sucrose metabolism, pyruvate metabolism, metabolic pathways, and the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites when the two millet varieties were subjected to drought stress. Under drought stress, 245 genes related to energy metabolism were found to show significant changes between the two strains. Further analysis showed that 219 genes related to plant hormone signal transduction also participated in the drought response. In addition, numerous genes involved in anthocyanin metabolism and photosynthesis were confirmed to be related to drought stress, and these genes showed significant differential expression and played an important role in anthocyanin metabolism and photosynthesis. Moreover, we identified 496 transcription factors related to drought stress, which came from 10 different transcription factor families, such as bHLH, C3H, MYB, and WRKY. Further analysis showed that many key genes related to energy metabolism, such as citrate synthase, isocitrate dehydrogenase, and ATP synthase, showed significant upregulation, and most of the structural genes involved in anthocyanin biosynthesis also showed significant upregulation in both strains. Most genes related to plant hormone signal transduction showed upregulated expression, while many JA and SA signaling pathway-related genes were downregulated. Metabolome analysis was performed on 'Hequ red millet' (HQ) and 'Yanshu 10' (YS10), a total of 2082 differential metabolites (DEMs) were identified. These findings indicate that energy metabolism, anthocyanins, photosynthesis, and plant hormones are closely related to the drought resistance of millet and adapt to adversity by precisely regulating the levels of various molecular pathways. Wide-scale automatic monitoring based on the Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI) and Mask Region-based Convolutional Neural Network (Mask R-CNN) with remote sensing images is of great significance for the management of aquaculture areas. However, different spatial resolutions brought different cost and model performance. To find more suitable image spatial resolutions for automatic monitoring offshore aquaculture areas, seven different resolution remote sensing images in the Sandu'ao area of China, from 2 m, 4 m, to 50 m, were compared. Results showed that the remote sensing images with a resolution of 15 m and above can achieve the corresponding recognition effect when no financial issues were considered, with the F1 score of over 0.75. By establishing a cost-effectiveness evaluation formula that comprehensively considers image price and recognition effect, the best image resolution in different scenes can be found, thus providing the most appropriate data scheme for the automatic monitoring of offshore aquaculture areas. Abstract: In this study, we investigated the killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) genes and HLA-C1/C2 dimorphism in 819 healthy, unrelated individuals composed of two southern Chinese Han populations (Hunan Han and Guangdong Han) and two northern Chinese populations (Inner Mongolia Han and Inner Mongolia Mongol), using polymerase chain reaction-sequence-specific priming (PCR-SSP) method. Fifty-one Chinese families were used to determine KIR haplotypic configuration. Our data showed that KIR2DL4, KIR3DL2, KIR3DL3, and KIR3DP1 genes were present in all of the 819 individuals. However, KIR2DL4 and KIR3DP1 genes were not detected in two members of a northern Chinese family. None of the KIR genes showed significant difference between the four populations. Thirty-five different KIR gene profiles were identified, one of which has not been previously reported in the Allele Frequencies KIR database. Eleven distinct KIR haplotypic configurations were determined through family analysis. Individuals with KIR2DLl and KIR2DL3 genes but lacking KIR2DSl and KIR2DS2 genes, coupled with HLA-C1 (Asn80) homozygosity, predominated in each population. At least one known inhibitory KIR–HLA pair was detected in each individual. Summary: The Chinese jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.), a member of the Rhamnaceae family, is an important perennial fruit tree crop of substantial economic, ecological and nutritional value, and is also used as a traditional herbal medicine. Here, we report the resequencing of 493 jujube accessions, including 202 wild and 291 cultivated accessions at >16× depth. Our population genomic analyses revealed that the Shanxi–Shaanxi area of China was jujube's primary domestication centre and that jujube was then disseminated into East China before finally extending into South China. Divergence events analysis indicated that Ziziphus acidojujuba and Ziziphus jujuba diverged around 2.7 Mya, suggesting the interesting possibility that a long pre‐domestication period may have occurred prior to human intervention. Using the large genetic polymorphism data set, we identified a 15‐bp tandem insertion in the promoter of the jujube ortholog of the POLLEN DEFECTIVE IN GUIDANCE 1 (POD1) gene, which was strongly associated with seed‐setting rate. Integrating genome‐wide association study (GWAS), transcriptome data, expression analysis and transgenic validation in tomato, we identified a DA3/UBIQUITIN‐SPECIFIC PROTEASE 14 (UBP14) ortholog, which negatively regulate fruit weight in jujube. We also identified candidate genes, which have likely influenced the selection of fruit sweetness and crispness texture traits among fresh and dry jujubes. Our study not only illuminates the genetic basis of jujube evolution and domestication and provides a deep and rich genomic resource to facilitate both crop improvement and hypothesis‐driven basic research, but also identifies multiple agriculturally important genes for this unique perennial tree fruit species. Purpose: To test the performance of 4 tonometers in estimating intraocular pressure (IOP) after 3 forms of refractive surgery. Setting: Eye Hospital, Wenzhou Medical University, China. Design: Prospective case series. Methods: Patients matched for preoperative age, corneal thickness, and myopic correction enrolled for femtosecond laser-assisted laser in situ keratomileusis (FS-LASIK), small-incision lenticule extraction (SMILE), or transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy (tPRK) were included in the study. For each patient, 4 measurements of IOP were obtained preoperatively and 3 months postoperatively, using the Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT-IOP), the Dynamic Contour Tonometer (DCT-IOP), corneal-compensated IOP (IOPcc) from the Ocular Response Analyzer, and biomechanically corrected IOP (bIOP) from the Corvis ST. Overall corneal stiffness was also estimated based on the stiffness parameter (SP-A1) provided by the Corvis ST. Results: The study included 144 eyes of 144 patients. Among the 3 procedures, the smallest variances between preoperative and postoperative IOP estimates and SP-A1 values were observed with the tPRK, followed by SMILE and FS-LASIK. In the tPRK group, no significant differences were observed in both bIOP (-0.18 +/- 1.63 mm Hg) and DCT-IOP (-.64 +/- 2.34 mm Hg), whereas they were larger and significant in GAT-IOP (-1.78 +/- 2.29 mm Hg) and IOPcc (-2.77 +/- 1.84 mm Hg). In FS-LASIK and SMILE groups, although there were similar significant reductions in IOP postoperatively, these reductions were still lower in bIOP and DCT-IOP than those in GAT-IOP and IOPcc. Conclusions: The bIOP and DCT-IOP were the least affected IOP estimates between the 3 refractive surgery procedures considered. BACKGROUND In some cultivars, yellowing resulting from chlorophyll breakdown has a direct and negative effect on food supply and health. The 'Zaosu' pear (Pyrus bretschneideri Rehd.), a commercial Asian pear cultivar in China, rapidly turns yellow when stored at room temperature after harvest. To develop techniques that delay or suppress chlorophyll degradation, the effects of methyl salicylate (MeSA) on yellowing in 'Zaosu' pear fruit during storage were evaluated. RESULTS: Compared with the untreated fruit, the application of 0.05 mmol L−1 MeSA delayed the decline of the total chlorophyll, chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b content, and maintained more intact chloroplasts with fewer and smaller plastoglobuli. Methyl salicylate suppressed enzyme activities, including chlorophyllase, chlorophyll‐degrading peroxidase, Mg dechelatase, and pheophytinase, and the expression levels of NYC, NOL, CLH, SGR, PPH, PAO and RCCR in treated fruit. CONCLUSION: Methyl salicylate could delay chlorophyll breakdown in the fruit. Exposure to air pollutants has become a major global health threat and is a dominant contributor to increasing respiratory mortality. Accurate projections of respiratory mortality are crucial to mitigating the adverse influences of air pollution on public health and guiding long-term policy implementation. However, the forecasting models' accuracy is difficult to guarantee because seasonal factors perturb the raw series of air pollutants and respiratory mortality. This paper proposes an enhanced seasonal and self-adaptive multivariate grey convolution model to solve this dilemma. The innovations of the proposed model reside in the following areas: firstly, a seasonal operator vector of multidimensional data is initially built to digitize the seasonality of air pollutants and related mortality. Secondly, a multivariate grey convolution model with an adaptive time-lag cumulative optimization item is put forward. The weight coefficients of each driving variable at different periods are intended to adapt dynamically. Thirdly, the self-adaptive time-delay coefficient is determined by the Particle Swarm Algorithm, enhancing the accuracy of predictions. Theoretically, the generalizability and adaptability of the newly presented model are well-validated. Moreover, its practical applicability and higher forecasting performance are further verified in estimating the respiratory mortality attributable to the comprehensive effects of air pollutants in China. In tight shales, occurrence characteristics limit oil migration and recovery. This paper proposes an innovative approach based on experimental and theoretical models to investigate the oil occurrence mechanism in nanoporous shales. Thermogravimetry (TG) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) tests were conducted to investigate the migrations and distributions of adsorbed, irreducible, and movable oils. Furthermore, the oil micro-occurrence characteristics within shales were quantitatively clarified using the theoretical equation for the adsorption ratio. Lacustrine shales with different lithofacies from Dongying Sag, Bohai Bay Basin, China, were evaluated as a case study. The results showed that adsorbed, irreducible, and movable oils occur in different pore sizes. The adsorbed oil is primarily saturated in micropores (<0.1 μm) and mesopores (0.1–1 μm) but hardly in macropores (>1 μm), characterized by an average density of around 1.4974 g/cm3 and a mean adsorption thickness of approximately 0.723 nm at a temperature of 60 °C. The irreducible oil predominantly occurs in mesopores, whereas the movable oil primarily exists in mesopores and macropores, and the weight ratio rapidly increases with increased pore size. Additionally, the NMR T 1 –T 2 patterns of the adsorbed, irreducible, and movable oils were reported, and these patterns can directly reveal the states of oil micro-occurrence in shale pore-fracture systems. High N fertilizer inputs in subtropical vegetable systems under the warm and humid climatic conditions increase the risk of nitrous oxide (N 2 O) emissions. However, there is limited information available on integrated N management strategies to reduce N 2 O emissions from intensive open-field vegetable systems in subtropical region. Two plot-based field experiments were conducted in subtropical southwest China to examine the effects of different N management strategies on N 2 O emissions from a typical open-field pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) production system. Experiment 1 included five N rates (0, 175, 250, 325, and 400 kg ha−1) with conventional urea. Experiment 2 included a 0 N control and four N sources (conventional urea, organic fertilizer, nitrification inhibitor-based enhanced efficiency fertilizer ENTEC26, and controlled release urea) applied under an optimized N rate (250 kg N ha−1). The results of Experiment 1 showed that cumulative N 2 O emission and emission factor were 4.05 kg N ha−1 season−1 and 0.96%, respectively, under the conventional management (N400). N 2 O emissions increased exponentially with increasing N rates. Compared to the N400 treatment, application of conventional urea at the optimal rate (250 kg N ha−1) significantly reduced cumulative N 2 O emissions by 54% while maintaining similar pepper yield. The results from Experiment 2 indicated that the use of enhanced efficiency fertilizers at the optimal rate further reduced N 2 O emission by 30%− 50% compared to conventional urea, while increasing pepper yield by 6.7%− 9.0%. This resulted in a 36%− 53% reduction of yield-scaled N 2 O emission intensity. In particular, the use of nitrification inhibitor was 28% more effective than controlled release urea for N 2 O mitigation. These results suggest that the application of enhanced efficiency fertilizers at an optimum N rate could produce more vegetables while reducing N 2 O emission, thereby promoting sustainable vegetable production in the subtropic regions. Accurate and efficient monitoring of mangroves is crucial for their protection and management. The impact of exotic species on native species is still debated, especially for mangroves, the spatiotemporal dynamics of introduced species and native mangrove species need to be closely monitored. This study aimed to investigate how exotic mangrove species affects the spatial dynamics of mangroves in Shenzhen Bay, China. Yearly Landsat images from 2000 to 2011 and Chinese high spatial resolution images during 2012–2022 were obtained and the pixel-based and multiscale object-based methods were used to obtain mangrove distribution. The results showed that: (1) Overall, mangroves in the study area increased from 281.51 ha to 526.43 ha from 2000 to 2022, with different spatiotemporal patterns in Shenzhen (+5.14%) and Hong Kong (+2.38%); (2) rapid spread of Sonneratia species was one of the main contributions to the growth of mangrove hotspots, and growth hotspots were mainly concentrated in the estuary delta; and (3) Sonneratia mangrove species was dominant in interspecific competition, not only invading the habitat of local mangroves, but also preventing the expansion of native mangrove growth. The results provide a reference for fine-scale and accurate mangrove mapping with high spatial and temporal resolutions, and highlight the need to pay more attentions to the spread and invasive potential of exotic mangrove species in the study area, as well as cooperation in adjacent reserves. Effluents containing disinfection byproducts (DBPs) from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) may be discharged to the receiving water bodies or reused for irrigation, landscaping, and environmental supplies as well as a source to replenish groundwater. Thus the formation and risk of the DBPs in disinfected wastewater effluents should be concerned. In this study, the occurrence of 44 DBPs including 6 trihalomethanes (THMs), 9 haloaceticacids (HAAs), 2 haloketones (HKs), 9 halonitromethanes (HNMs), 9 haloacetonitriles (HANs) and 9 nitrosamines (NAs) was investigated in 12 chlorinated WWTP effluents from five cities of East China. The contribution of each class of DBPs to the total DBPs concentration and additive toxicity was calculated. The average concentrations of the 6 classes of DBPs were ranked as follows: HAAs (47.0 μg/L) > THMs (28.0 μg/L) > HANs (9.9 μg/L) > HNMs (2.9 μg/L) > HKs (0.79 μg/L) > NAs (0.69 μg/L). The significant positive correlations were observed between the formation of THMs and HAAs, THMs and HANs, as well as HAAs and HANs. The results showed that HAAs and THMs were the dominant DBPs on a mass concentration basis and accounted for 54% and 29%, respectively in the total measured DBPs, but they made a minor contribution to the calculated DBP-associated cytotoxicity. HANs and NAs dominated the DBP-associated cytotoxicity, accounting for 50% and 34% on an additive toxicity basis despite the minor contributions to the mass concentration with 10% and 1%, respectively. The risk quotients for three taxonomic groups (fish, daphnid, and green algae) were calculated to assess the ecological risk of DBPs, and the results demonstrated that both HAAs and HANs had high ecological risk for green algae in chlorinated wastewater effluents. Abstract Invasive plants constitute one of the major causes of biodiversity loss, and its monitoring plays an important role in the management of coastal ecological systems. This study aimed to apply high precision 3D mesh-model and digital orthophoto map (DOM) derived from unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) multi view images to monitor the invasive plants over coastal mountain region in Shenzhen, China. To overcome the limitations of RGB images, the Gray-level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) features of images were analyzed and combined with spectral features to obtain the 2-dimentional distribution of invasive plants first, using an object-based image analysis technique. A fine analysis was then introduced to obtain a more accurate 3-dimentional distribution of invasive plant by combining 2-dimentional distribution of invasive plant and 3D mesh model. the results have shown that: (1) Although the UAV RGB image has limited spectral information, the low-altitude makes the spatial resolution very high, which can effectively enhance the effectiveness of the texture in mapping invasive plants, and finally achieved an overall accuracy of 93.25%. (2) The use of 3D mesh model, on the one hand, could significantly alleviate the impact of undulatory terrain over mountain area and improve the classification result; on the other hand, it could better visualize the final results, helping us more intuitively understanding the distribution of invasive plants. The present study was to examine potential benefits of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to improve negative symptoms and cognition in this patient population. Methods: The study was a 4-week, randomized, double-blind sham-controlled trial. Patients with schizophrenia were treated with adjunctive 20-Hz rTMS for 4 weeks or sham condition to the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC). Negative symptoms were measured using the Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms (SANS) and the Positive and Negative symptom scale (PANSS) negative subscale at baseline and week 4. Cognitive function was measured using the MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB) at the same two time points. In addition, possible moderators for rTMS treatment efficacy were explored. Results: Sixty patients (33 in the treatment group, 27 in the sham group) completed the study. There was a significant decrease in negative symptoms after 4-week rTMS treatment as measured by the SANS total score and the PANSS negative symptom subscale score. However, there was no significant improvement in cognition with rTMS treatment. Stepwise multiple linear regression analysis suggested that the baseline severity of positive symptoms may predict poorer improvement in negative symptoms at week 4. Conclusion: Twenty-Hz rTMS stimulation over left DLPFC as an adjunctive treatment might be beneficial in improving negative symptoms of schizophrenia. Background: The duration of untreated psychosis (DUP) has been widely studied. However, for individuals with attenuated psychosis syndrome (APS), it is unclear whether the duration of untreated prodromal symptoms (DUPrS) also has a negative effect on the progression of psychosis. Our aim was to identify demographic and clinical factors contributing to the DUPrS in a large sample of individuals with APS, and to evaluate the association between DUPrS and the conversion to psychosis. Method: A sample of 391 individuals with APS, who were identified through a structured interview for prodromal syndromes, were included in this study, of whom a total of 334 patients had completed at least a 1-year clinical follow-up. A total of 57 individuals had converted to psychosis. Results: The average DUPrS was 4.8 months for the whole sample. Individuals with a longer DUPrS were likely to be men, non-local residents, with abnormal thought symptoms, a higher severity level of negative symptoms, the lower severity level of general symptoms, and lower level of general function before the onset of attenuated positive symptoms. A DUPrS of less than 2 months, or more than 6 months, lowered the risk for conversion to psychosis. Conclusions: Our data suggested that the association between the DUPrS and outcome in individuals with APS were likely to be different, which is either long or short DUPrS was not related to future psychosis onset. Objective: This study aimed to examine the overlaps between the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual-5 (DSM-5) Personality Disorders (PDs) in a high-risk clinical population and to explore a transitional model for implementing DSM-5 PDs.Method: A sample population of 982 outpatients with at least one diagnosed PD was selected from 3,075 outpatients of the Shanghai Mental Health Center. The diagnostic process comprised of a personality diagnostic questionnaire and a structured clinical interview.Results: 685 (22.3%) patients were diagnosed with at least one of six PDs (antisocial, avoidant, borderline, narcissistic, obsessive-compulsive, and schizotypal) under the alternative DSM-5 model for personality disorders proposed in Section III of the DSM-5. Nearly 20.3% of the subjects with PD met criteria for at least two PDs (of the 685 PD patients/6 PD model). Cluster and principal component analyses suggest a transitional model for the 7 specific PD categories (among the 722 PD patients, the overlapping rate was 24.1%) will be more appropriate for PD diagnosis in China.Conclusions: Using the simplified PD categories in the alternative DSM-5 model for personality disorders will reduce the overlaps in PD diagnoses in Chinese psychiatric practice, and should be preferred over the DSM-5 PD diagnostic system. The occurrence and mobility of oil obtained from shales are primarily controlled by the pore–fracture networks of the shales. To clarify the distributions and characteristics of the type, morphology, and size in lacustrine shale pores, shale samples obtained from the Shahejie Formation, Dongying Sag, Bohai Bay Basin in China were examined using argon ion milling and scanning electron microscopy. In this study, pores were mainly classified as interparticle pores, intraparticle pores, and fractures and further classified into 14 types, comprising intraparticle pores (7 types), interparticle pores (6 types), and fractures, based on the differences in their components. Interparticle pores have more complex morphologies than intraparticle pores and fractures. Complex shapes characterize the interparticle pores between quartz granules and at the edges of feldspar granules. Intraparticle pores mainly contribute to mesopores and then to macropores, while interparticle pores behave in the opposite manner. Micropores are primarily derived from the intraparticle pores present in clay aggregates and dissolution pores present in calcite or dolomite granules. However, macropores mainly come from the interparticle pores present within or at the edges of quartz granules; consequently, siliceous-rich shales may be the favorable shale oil reservoirs called interlayer shale oil. Moreover, organic-rich calcareous shales with numerous large dissolution pores can become optimal self-generation and self-storage shale oil reservoirs. Achieving the goals of emissions intensity reduction and energy structure transformation while ensuring stable economic development is essential for sustainable development in China. Establishing a concise and accurate model for predicting the 3E (economy-energy-environment) system is beneficial for decision-makers in developing optimal long-term energy and environmental planning. Although previous studies have concentrated on the interaction of variables in the 3E system, frameworks for prediction have thus far been limited. In this paper, we develop a novel nonlinear interactive grey multivariable model based on dynamic compensation, denoted as D C N I G M 1 , N , to perform the prediction of the 3E system. More specifically, the proposed model innovatively takes into account nonlinear driving effects to elucidate nonlinear interactive relationships between the system variables. A dynamic compensation mechanism is introduced into the systematic grey modeling for the first time to adapt to a dynamic system. In addition, the Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) is employed to determine the optimal nonlinear parameters to improve the forecast accuracy. To evaluate the performance of the D C N I G M 1 , N model in forecasting the 3E system, two existing grey forecasting models, three statistical approaches, and three machine learning models are selected as the benchmark models. Moreover, two more cases with different variables of the 3E system are applied to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed model. Experimental results indicate that the D C N I G M 1 , N model possesses the most excellent performance in all cases, showing the effectiveness and generalizability of the proposed method. This paper investigates the long-term performance of structural concretes in China southeast coastal area, the city of Shenzhen, exposed to atmosphere and chlorides. The structural concretes, incorporating large quantity of supplementary cementitious materials (SCM), were among the first massive application of such mixtures in construction in China. In both cases, in-field sampling and tests have been conducted during more than 20 years for the resistance of concretes to carbonation and chloride ingress respectively. The synthetic analysis of these results shows that (1) the concretes have substantial strength growth in atmospheric environment with exposure age, but the carbonation rate does not all obey the square root law of exposure time; (2) the protection of silane impregnation of high-performance concrete against chloride ingress maintains its hydrophobic effect after nearly 20 years; (3) Notable "skin" effect of surface concrete was observed for both atmospheric and marine exposures. Wind and solar power have embraced a strong development in recent years due to the energy crisis in China. However, owing to their nature of fluctuation and intermittency, some power grid management problems can be caused. Therefore a novel hybrid wind-solar-compressed air energy storage (WS-CAES) system was proposed to solve the problems. The WS-CAES system can store unstable wind and solar power for a stable output of electric energy and hot water. Also, combined with organic Rankin cycle (ORC), the cascade utilization of energy with different qualities was achieved in the WS-CAES system. Aiming to obtain the optimum performance, the analysis of energy, exergy and parametric sensitivity were all conducted for this system. Furthermore, exergy destruction ratio of each component in the WS-CAES system was presented. The results show that the electric energy storage efficiency, round trip efficiency and exergy efficiency can reach 87.7%, 61.2% and 65.4%, respectively. Meanwhile, the parameters analysis demonstrates that the increase of ambient temperature has a negative effect on the system performance, while the increase of turbine inlet temperature has a positive effect. In this study, an ecological vulnerability assessment indicator system was constructed using the “exposure–climate sensitivity–adaptive capacity” framework according to the theory of ecological vulnerability. An improved ecosystem service value calculation model was proposed based on empirical parameters. Using Yancheng Nature Reserve in China as an example, we employed remote sensing data to conduct an empirical analysis of the changes in the spatiotemporal pattern, ecological vulnerability, and ecosystem services of typical landscape types over the period from 1987 to 2013. The statistical results derived from landscape pattern indices (LPIs) showed that during the investigation period, three natural wetland landscape types (i.e., Spartina alterniflora , Suaeda glauca , and Phragmites australis ) showed gradually increased fragmentation in the study area. The ecological vulnerability scores of the major landscape types (in descending order) were P. australis (0.053), farmland (0.047), S. alterniflora (0.042), S. glauca (0.031), and bare mud flat (0.002). The results derived from the ecosystem service value fluctuation index ( ESVFI ) showed that from 1987 to 1997, the value of the ecosystem services provided by S. glauca and P. australis wetlands decreased, whereas that of S. alterniflora wetlands increased continuously. From 2002 to 2013, the value of the ecosystem services provided by all three types of natural wetland showed a downward trend. In conclusion, the combined effects of human and natural factors, including the expansion of farmland and the invasion of S. alterniflora , and changes in seawater erosion and deposition led to changes in the landscape patterns, ecological vulnerability, and ecosystem services of the Yancheng Nature Reserve during the investigation period. The results indicate that a “dual adaptive” management system based on natural succession and supplemented by appropriate manual intervention should be implemented, and the management efficiency and flexibility should be improved to meet the common needs of biodiversity conservation and economic development. • Climate-sensitive nonlinear mixed-effects height-diameter model was developed for 14 tree species in mixed forests. • The inclusion of climate and species diversity improved the H-D model. • The impact of environmental gradients on tree height growth was simulated. • The sensitivity of multiple species in mixed forest to environmental gradient changes varies with species. Models based on height-diameter (H-D) are helpful for estimating forest biomass and carbon storage on a large scale. Climate change has an impact on allometric height-diameter growth. H-D models explaining climatic effects are still inadequate due to the complexity of mixed forests. This paper developed climate-sensitive mixed-effects models for 14 tree species based on 316 natural mixed forest plots in Northeastern China and compared the response of tree height growth to environmental gradients for multiple species. The results showed that the species heterogeneity leads to the differences in scaling exponents in varying degrees. The analysis revealed that incorporating mean annual temperature (MAT), mean annual precipitation (MAP), dominant tree height (HT), basal area of the larger trees (BAL), and Shannon diversity index significantly enhanced the predictive ability of the model. By exploring the tree height change patterns of each tree species under different gradients of environmental factors, we found that increases in temperature, precipitation, site quality, and competition intensity positively affected height growth in mixed forests. In contrast, increases in species diversity inhibited height growth. The degree to which environmental factors regulate the H-D allometric growth of trees in mixed forests is related to species specificity. This paper provides theoretical support for tree height estimates of major tree species in mixed forests under global climate change by introducing environmental factors to improve the H-D model of 14 tree species. The importance for the accurate forecast of carbon emissions affected by many factors is gradually emerging. Carbon emissions usually lag behind the related factors, which cannot be dynamically reflected in the existing grey forecasting models. Therefore, investigating the dynamic lag relationships remains the key challenge to carbon emissions forecast. For this purpose, an enhanced dynamic time-delay discrete grey forecasting model, denoted as D T D G M (1 , N , τ) , is proposed to predict the systems having dynamic time-lag effects. More specifically, a time-lag driving term consisting of both the interval and intensity of the time lags is developed to reflect the lag process of different factors to carbon emissions. The impulse response analysis of the vector autoregressive (VAR) model is carried out for determining the dynamic lags between carbon emissions and the related factors. In addition, a linear correction term is designed in the proposed model to extend the grey forecasting theory. Extensive experimental results about carbon emissions prediction from 1995 to 2017 show that the D T D G M (1 , N , τ) model considering the delayed relationships can significantly improve the fitting and prediction performance of the model in comparison with the six benchmark models, including the three existing grey forecasting models, two machine learning models and one statistical prediction approach. • An enhanced dynamic time-delay discrete grey forecasting model is proposed. • The novel model reveals the lag relationships between variables and the factors. • The dynamic lag processes over time are depicted by the impulse response analysis. • The new method improves the applicability of the grey forecasting model. • Empirical results comprehensively verify the efficacy of the enhanced method. Hybrid IMRT/VMAT technique which combined intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) was developed for the treatment of nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC). Two-full-arc VMAT (2ARC-VMAT), 9-field IMRT (9F-IMRT), and Hybrid IMRT/VMAT plans for NPC were compared in terms of the dosimetric quality, sparing of organs at risk (OARs), and delivery efficiency. The Hybrid IMRT/VMAT technique can improve the target dose homogeneity and conformity compared with 9F-IMRT and 2ARC-VMAT. It can reduce the dose delivered to the TMJ, mandible, temporal lobe, and unspecified tissue with fewer MUs compared with 9F-IMRT and dose delivered to parotids, brainstem, and spinal cord compared with 2ARC-VMAT technique. The mean delivery time of Hybrid plans was shorter than that of 9F-IMRT plans (408 s versus 812 s; P=0.00) and longer than that of 2ARC-VMAT plans (408 s versus 179 s; P=0.00).
