This research delves into the nuances, origins, and societal effects of irrational religious orientations within China's Generation Z, employing grounded theory methodology for a comprehensive analysis. The focus is on those born between 1995 and 2010, a demographic raised amidst rapid information technology growth and significantly influenced by digitalization and globalization. The study identifies three primary dimensions of irrational religious orientations in Generation Z: religious spiritual dependence, religious instrumental tendency, and religious uniqueness identity. These are shaped by factors such as the overwhelming influx of information via digital media, societal pressures and psychological dilemmas, conflicts in values and identity crises, as well as feelings of social isolation and the need for group belonging. To address these trends, the study suggests several interventions: enhancing multicultural and values education, implementing stricter online information regulation and literacy programs, boosting mental health awareness and support, and fostering engagement in social and cultural activities. These recommendations are essential for comprehensively understanding and effectively responding to the irrational religious orientations of Generation Z, ultimately contributing to their overall well-being and healthy development. Valuing the nonuse value of a national forest park (NFP) is critically important to obtain a better understanding of its total economic value, beyond focusing solely on the recreation value. This paper estimates the nonuse value of an NFP based on the relationship between the local public's environmental attitudes and their willingness to pay (WTP). The data collected on the local residents' environmental attitudes relied on the New Ecological Paradigm (NEP). Residents' willingness to pay (WTP) for the national forest parkland protection was collected using the contingent valuation method (CVM). The nonuse value WTP was estimated using a bivariate dichotomous choice model. This model analyzed the relationship between the environmental attitude scores and WTP in order to estimate the nonuse value of the NFP of our case study site, Dalian Xijiao National Forest Park (DXNFP) in northeastern China. The results showed that DXNFP provides 20.26 CNY (3.02 USD) in nonuse value per household per year in Dalian city, which can then be translated into 140 CNY (21 USD) million annually in total. Landslide modeling based on seismic signal characteristics is an effective method to study landslide evolution. The scientific challenge lies in how to systematically characterize and reconstruct the entire landslide evolution process using the recorded seismic data. We selected the 2017 "6.24" Xinmo landslide as a case study. Empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is used to analyze the seismic signals from 14 seismic stations near the landslide area. Numerical simulations using two-dimensional discrete element methods (DEM) are performed to simulate landslide dynamics using the calculated kinetic energy profile. After analyzing the short-time Fourier transform (STFT) and fast Fourier transform (FFT) characteristics of the signal, the landslide process is reconstructed and compared with the DEM simulation. The landslide process is observed to consist of a stationary stage, slipping stage, transition stage, entrainment-transportation stage, and a deposition stage. This is the first study that uses seismic signals to identify a transition stage, which is a feature that is difficult to constrain from field survey and analysis alone. Landslide development and movement in the transition stage are discussed considering the sedimentology of the study area. This study provides improved theoretical guidance for the reconstruction and characterization of landslide processes by seismic signals. • Seismic signals generated by the Xinmo landslide (Sichuan - China) were analyzed. • 5 stages of landslide were recognized from spectral variations of seismic recording. • One transition stage was identified between first slipping and entrainment stage. • Discrete element simulations supported the landslide process reconstruction.
