Although substantive research has shown that a positive perceived school climate is an essential protective factor for cyberbullying among adolescents, little research revealed the mechanisms underlying this relationship. This study examined whether normative beliefs about aggression mediate the association between a positive perceived school climate and cyberbullying and whether this process is moderated by Internet morality. Anonymous questionnaires measuring these variables were administered to 649 junior high school students in China. After controlling for traditional bullying, mediation analysis indicated that normative beliefs about aggression played a full mediating role in the relationship between a positive perceived school climate and cyberbullying. Moderated mediation analysis further revealed that Internet morality moderated the predictive effect of normative beliefs about aggression on cyberbullying. The mediating effect of normative beliefs about aggression was stronger in individuals with lower levels of Internet morality. These findings provide insight into making existing interventions more suitable for cyberbullying.

With the rapid development of intensive poultry breeding in China, the demand for poultry feed raw materials is increasing rapidly. However, the shortage of cereal feed and the persistently high price make it urgent for poultry feed production industry to explore cheaper energy alternative feed. Cassava has the characteristics of high yield, rich starch and fiber, high energy value, etc. It can replace corn or other energy feed in poultry breeding. The effective use of cassava products has been proved to reduce the feed cost of poultry production. However, the utilization of cassava is limited by many factors, such as low protein and anti-nutritional factors. Using correct processing and scientific formula, the addition level of cassava in poultry diet can be improved. In this paper, the nutritional characteristics, feed utilization, and application of cassava in poultry diet were reviewed, which provided a reference for the application of cassava in poultry diet. The loss of red hue in dry red wine has been a persistent issue for wine enterprises in western China. We investigated the changes in anthocyanins and non-anthocyanin phenols during the industrial-scale fermentation and one-year bottle aging of Vitis vinifera L. Merlot and Vitis vinifera L. Marselan, respectively, using the grapes in the Ningxia region. We also examined their correlation with color characterization. The study found that both anthocyanins and non-anthocyanin phenolics were rapidly extracted from grapes during alcohol fermentation. However, their concentrations decreased rapidly during malolactic fermentation. On the other hand, Vitisin A and Vitisin B were formed during alcoholic fermentation and decreased slowly from malolactic fermentation to storage period. Directly polymerized pigments (F-A and A-F), bridged polymerized pigments (A-e-F), and flavanyl-pyranoanthocyanins (A-v-F) from the reactions of anthocyanins (A) and flavan-3-ols (F), as well as pinotins were generated during the later stages of alcoholic fermentation, and remained at a high level throughout malolactic fermentation and bottle storage. Partial least squares regression and Pearson correlation analyses revealed that the red hue (a* value) of 'Merlot' and 'Marselan' wines was closely associated with monomeric anthocyanins and F-A type pigments. Furthermore, four pinotin components were positively correlated with the red hue (a* value) of 'Merlot' wine. These primary red components of the two varieties had a positive correlation with the level of flavan-3-ols. Background: Demographic information has been shown to help predict high antibody titers of COVID-19 convalescent plasma (CCP) in CCP donors. However, there is no research on the Chinese population and little evidence on whole-blood donors. Therefore, we aimed to investigate these associations among Chinese blood donors after SARS-CoV-2 infection. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 5,064 qualified blood donors with confirmed or suspected SARS-CoV-2 infection completed a self-reported questionnaire and underwent tests of SARS-CoV-2 Immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody and ABO blood type. Logistic regression models were used to calculate odds ratios (ORs) for high SARS-CoV-2 IgG titers according to each factor. Results: Totally, 1,799 participants (with SARS-CoV-2 IgG titers≥1:160) had high-titer CCPs. Multivariable analysis showed that a 10-year increment in age and earlier donation were associated with higher odds of high-titer CCP, while medical personnel was associated with lower odds. The ORs (95% CIs) of high-titer CCP were 1.17 (1.10-1.23, p< 0.001) and 1.41 (1.25-1.58, p< 0.001) for each 10-year increment in age and earlier donation, respectively. The OR of high-titer CCP was 0.75 (0.60-0.95, p = 0.02) for medical personnel. Female early donors were associated with increased odds of high-titer CCP, but this association was insignificant for later donors. Donating after 8 weeks from the onset was associated with decreased odds of having high-titer CCP compared to donating within 8 weeks from the onset, and the HR was 0.38 (95% CI: 0.22-0.64, p <0.001). There was no significant association between ABO blood type or race and the odds of high-titer CCP. Discussion: Older age, earlier donation, female early donors, and non-medical-related occupations are promising predictors of high-titer CCP in Chinese blood donors. This paper examines the signifying mechanism of gift-giving in ancient China from the perspective of semiotic rhetoric, aiming to answer the question of what can be regarded as li (roughly meaning ceremony, rite, courtesy, or gift) or, in other words, how the social meaning of gifts is constructed in giving semiosis. It describes four dominant rhetorical devices that existed in ritual and non-ritual gift exchanges in ancient China. The ritual gift tended to adopt simile and conceit as its meaning-construction device, becoming a symbolic good beyond 'thingness' and thus fulfilling the sociocultural function of ritual. Non-ritual giving activity made use of semiotic metonymy and synecdoche as a strategy of 'indirectness' to maintain the relationship between the giver and receiver in daily communications. Background: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) poses a significant threat to cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), leading to a high risk of heart failure (HF) and cardiovascular death. Growing evidence has unveiled the potential of sodiumglucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors to improve cardiovascular outcomes in patients with CVD regardless of diabetes, but there is limited evidence in AMI patients. Furthermore, it is controversial whether the effects can be ascribed to the amelioration of left ventricular (LV) function, which further complicates the understanding of their underlying mechanism. Methods: This study is a prospective, phase IV, open-label, parallel group, singlecenter trial conducted in a large tertiary teaching hospital in China. A total of 120 patients with AMI and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) will be included. Those who received SGLT2 inhibitors are considered as the experimental group, and those taking other antidiabetic agents are considered as the control group. The primary outcome is change in LV end-systolic volume index (LVESVi) measured by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging from baseline during 1-year follow-up period. Secondary outcomes include other LV parameters such as LV mass, LV volume, and LV ejection fraction (EF); quality of life and functional capacity such as Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire overall summary score (KCCQ-OS) and EuroQol-5 dimension (EQ-5D); biomarkers associated with diagnostic parameters of AMI and possible mechanisms on cardiovascular protection, such as creatine kinase, troponin T (TnT) level, troponin I (TnI) level, soluble suppression of tumorigenicity-2 (sST2), galectin-3 (Gal-3), fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21), and microRNA (miRNA) level. The geomorphologic and environmental evolution of the Loess Plateau is greatly affected by the strong fault activity, leading to the frequent occurrence of geological hazards, particularly the loess-mudstone landslide (LML). Thus, it is crucial to investigate the formation mechanism of such landslides in active fault zones. In this study, a field survey was conducted in the Weibei tableland of Baoji where the active fault zone is developed. To study the creep behavior of LML sliding zone soil, the triaxial creep tests of multi-stage loading under different water content, confining pressure, dry density, loess-mudstone binary structure (LMBS) contact surface angle, and thickness were carried out using the sliding zone soil samples (loess, mudstone, and LMBS samples) obtained from Wolongsi landslide in the study area as an example. Experimental results revealed that: (1) Water content has a significant weakening effect on the strength of LML sliding zone soil. The strength of the LMBS sample is extremely water-sensitive. The weakening effect of water on the long-term strength of LML sliding zone soil mainly manifested in promoting the elastoplastic deformation of loess and the viscoplastic deformation of mudstone. (2) The long-term strength of the LML slip zone soil increases linearly with the increase in confining pressure and increases exponentially with the dry density. (3) The degrading effect of the stratigraphic interface dip angle on the long-term slope strength is mainly reflected in the change in the weakening degree of water on the strength of the LML sliding zone. In addition, according to the test results, the traditional Nishihara model is improved by introducing nonlinear parameters, and a new constitutive equation describing LML sliding zone soil is established. The new constitutive model can accurately describe the creep curve's whole process especially sensitively identifying the accelerated creep stage. Finally, after conducting a field investigation and laboratory tests, the main hazard factors affecting the occurrence of the LML were analyzed in the presence of fault activity on the Weibei Plateau of Baoji, China, and its formation mechanism was revealed as well. Spiradiclis liboensis L. Wu & W. J. Liu, a new species in tribe Ophiorrhizeae of Rubiaceae from limestone mountain areas of Guizhou, south-western China, is described and illustrated. It is similar to S. guangdongensis and S. jingxiensis, but differs from the latter two by the following traits: stipule triangular, inflorescence sessile or with peduncle up to 0.5 mm long, pedicel 0.8-2.2 mm long, corolla white, salverform, corolla tube 1.6-2.2 cm long, corolla tube of long-styled morph inside with a villous ring and stigmas positioned at the throat of the corolla tube. Background: Currently, no second-line systemic treatment regimen has been recommended in advanced biliary tract cancer (BTC). Cumulative clinical evidence showed that systemic treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in combination with immunotherapy may shed light on the dim clinical outcome in advanced BTC. Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the anticancer efficacy of lenvatinib plus programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) antibody in patients with BTC who progressed after first-line cisplatin/gemcitabine (CisGem) chemotherapy. Methods: Patients with advanced BTCs who progressed after CisGem were recruited. A combination regimen of lenvatinib (8/12 mg daily) plus PD-1 antibody (200/240 mg injection every 3 weeks) was prescribed. Clinicopathological information and therapeutic outcome, including tumor subtypes, biomarkers, treatment duration, adverse events (AE), progression-free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS), were recorded and estimated. Results: A total of 351 patients with BTCs were reviewed and 74 were recruited eventually: 35 had intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (47.3%), 4 had extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (5.4%), and 35 had gallbladder cancer (47.3%). The median administered cycles of PD-1 antibody were 6.43 (95% CI: 5.83-7.04) cycles, and the median duration of lenvatinib medication was 21.0 weeks (95% CI: 18.04-23.93). Twenty-eight patients (37.83%) experienced detectable objective response per RECIST1.1 within a median follow-up duration of 15.0 months. The objective response rate (ORR) was 20.27% (95% CI: 10.89%-29.65%), and the disease control rate (DCR) was 71.62% (95% CI: 61.11%-82.14%). The median PFS and OS were 4.0 months (95% CI: 3.5-5.0) and 9.50 months (95% CI: 9.0-11.0), respectively. Seventy-three patients (98.64%) reported AEs and 39 (52.70%) experienced =grade 3 AEs. In subgroup analyses, tumoral PD-L1 expression =50% and tumor mutation burden (TMB) =2.5 Muts/Mb were associated with prolonged PFS. Conclusion: Lenvatinib plus PD-1 antibody treatment shows an active trend towards improving survival in patients with advanced BTCs after failure with CisGem chemotherapy. Background: Yushu, Qinghai province is located in remote Tibetan plateau in Western China, struck by a disastrous earthquake in 2010. The study aimed to find out the positive and negative psychological changes and related risk factors of children and adolescents who had experienced Yushu earthquake, 6 years after it occurred. Methods: A cross-sectional research was adopted in the capital of Yushu Autonomous Prefecture in August 2016. The short form of the Changes in Outlook Questionnaire (CiOQ-S) was used, which is a 10-item self-report instrument consists of two subscales. A total of 591 valid questionnaires completed by local junior students were finally included in our study. Results: The mean scores of the positive and negative psychological changes were 19.28 and 13.08, respectively. The factors associated with positive psychological changes included high level of education, male gender, and uninjured in the earthquake. The factors associated with negative psychological changes included living in a pasture instead of downtown, injured during the earthquake, and not receiving psychological counselling. Conclusions: The current analysis tries to investigate the long-term psychological effects of earthquakes among children and adolescents, which aims to improve the psychological health status for child and adolescent survivors of similar events. Introduction: A retrospective review conducted in three hospitals of Guangdong and Hainan, China. To analyze the variation tendency of mean hospitalization costs and length of stay (LOS) in naval hospitals over nine years, paying special attention to the factors affecting hospitalization costs and LOS to provide a reference base for health resource allocation in naval hospitals.Materials and Methods: A total of 21,375 cases of military patients who were hospitalized and treated in three naval hospitals between January 2008 to December 2016 were extracted from the military health system. There were 16,278 complete and effective cases during those nine years. The situation, trends, and factors influencing hospitalization costs and LOS were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis H test, and multiple linear regressions.Results: The following factors showed statistically significant differences in hospitalization costs: special care, primary care, year, military rank, critical illness, allergies, and condition (p < 0.0001); and number of hospitalizations, gender, and age (p < 0.01). The following factors showed statistically significant differences in hospital LOS: year, number of hospitalizations, outcomes, military rank, special care, severity of illness, and condition (p < 0.0001); allergy (p < 0.01); and service and gender (p < 0.05). LOS between 2008-2016 showed a decreasing tendency, while hospitalization costs showed an increasing trend. There were 6 factors that affected Abstract (or Structured Summary) both the cost of hospitalization and LOS: special care, year, military rank, condition, allergy, and gender.Conclusions: The results suggest that improving efficiency of military hospital require strengthening hierarchical referrals and controlling hospital LOS. The newly discovered Zhunsujihua porphyry Mo deposit is located in the south‐western part of the Great Hingan Range, north‐east China. Molybdenum mineralization generally presents as veins or disseminations hosted in granitic intrusions, and multiple‐stage hydrothermal activity has resulted in potassic, phyllic, and sericitic alteration. The mineralization process can be divided into four stages, that is, quartz–K‐feldspar ± pyrite veinlets in stage I, quartz–molybdenite veinlets in stage II, quartz–polymetallic sulfide veinlets in stage III, and barren quartz–calcite veins in stage IV. Four types of fluid inclusions can be distinguished by petrography in hydrothermal quartz, including liquid‐rich two‐phase, vapour‐rich two‐phase, pure gaseous, and pure liquid inclusions, but quartz in stage I contains all types of fluid inclusions. The homogenization temperatures in quartz of stages I, II, III, and IV vary from 300°C to 520°C, 230°C to 410°C, 170°C to 260°C, and 136°C to 227°C, with salinities of 4.18–13.30 wt.% NaCl equiv., 2.07–11.10 wt.% NaCl equiv., 1.74–8.95 wt.% NaCl equiv., and 0.70–5.71 wt.% NaCl equiv., respectively. The ore‐forming fluids in this deposit are characterized by high temperature and intermediate to low salinity belonging to an H2O–NaCl system. δ18Oquartz values of quartz from stages I to IV range from +5.5‰ to +10.1‰, with the calculated δ18Ofluid values ranging from –6.7‰ to +6.3‰, and the δD values of fluid inclusion waters in quartz ranging from –118‰ to –102‰. The δ34S values of pyrite and molybdenite from different ore stages range from 3.8‰ to 6.8‰ with an average of 5.1‰. Pyrite and molybdenite samples in the deposit have 206Pb/204Pb ratios of 18.394 to 18.766, 207Pb/204Pb ratios of 15.580 to 15.694, and 208Pb/204Pb ratios of 38.309 to 38.942. All these observations reveal that the hydrothermal fluids of the Zhunsujihua porphyry Mo deposit have a dominantly magmatic signature with an input of meteoric water during the carbonate stage, and the ore‐forming components (metal and sulfur) were sourced from a greater magmatic source and some upper crustal materials. Objectives: Emergency medical system for mass casualty incidents (EMS-MCIs) is a global issue. However, China lacks such studies extremely, which cannot meet the requirement of rapid decision-support system. This study aims to realize modeling EMS-MCIs in Shanghai, to improve mass casualty incident (MCI) rescue efficiency in China, and to provide a possible method of making rapid rescue decisions during MCIs. Methods: This study established a system dynamics (SD) model of EMS-MCIs using the Vensim DSS program. Intervention scenarios were designed as adjusting scales of MCIs, allocation of ambulances, allocation of emergency medical staff, and efficiency of organization and command. Results: Mortality increased with the increasing scale of MCIs, medical rescue capability of hospitals was relatively good, but the efficiency of organization and command was poor, and the prehospital time was too long. Mortality declined significantly when increasing ambulances and improving the efficiency of organization and command; triage and on-site first-aid time were shortened if increasing the availability of emergency medical staff. The effect was the most evident when 2,000 people were involved in MCIs; however, the influence was very small under the scale of 5,000 people. Conclusion: The keys to decrease the mortality of MCIs were shortening the prehospital time and improving the efficiency of organization and command. For small-scale MCIs, improving the utilization rate of health resources was important in decreasing the mortality. For largescale MCIs, increasing the number of ambulances and emergency medical professionals was the core to decrease prehospital time and mortality. Aims: To investigate the association between triglyceride–glucose(TyG) index and the risk of hypertension.Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Bengbu, China. The participants received relevant questionnaire survey, anthropometric tests, and laboratory examination. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to estimate the possible association between TyG index and hypertension risk. The additive interaction evaluated by the relative excess risk due to interaction (RERI), attributable proportion due to interaction (AP), and synergy index(SI) was calculated.Results: A total of 1777 participants (748 men and 1029 women) were investigated. There was a significant increase in the risk of hypertension and isolated systolic hypertension (ISH) when comparing the highest TyG index (the fourth quartile) to the lowest TyG index (the first quartile) and corresponding ORs were 2.446 (95% CI: 1.746–3.426) and 2.621(95%CI: 1.627–4.224), respectively. However, no significant relationship was observed between TyG index and isolated diastolic hypertension (IDH). In males, significant interactions between TyG index and WHtR (RERI:1.978, 95%CI: 0.162–3.792; AP: 0.359, 0.113–0.605; SI:1.782, 1.017–3.122), smoking (AP: 0.437, 95%CI: 0.048–0.825), family history of hypertension (AP:0.433, 95%CI: 0.203–0.662; SI:2.248, 95%CI: 1.333–3.791) were observed. As for females, there were also significant interactions between TyG index and WHtR (RERI:1.415, 95%CI: 0.693–2.136; AP: 0.198, 95%CI: 0.104–0.291; SI:1.298, 95%CI:1.101–1.530), family history of hypertension (RERI:1.744, 95%CI: 0.221–3.267; AP:0.405, 95%CI: 0.113–0.697) on risk of hypertension.Conclusions: Increased TyG index was significantly associated with higher risk of hypertension and ISH, but not for IDH in middle-aged and elderly adults. In recent years, many concealed skarn-type and porphyry-type deposits have been discovered in Chating area, which shows very good prospectivity to host hydrothermal deposits. In this paper, we carried out the 3D mineral prospectivity modeling for porphyry and skarn-type mineralization of the Chating area. During this study, implicit geological modeling and the "total litho-inversion" method were used to build the 3D geological models and optimize the 3D geological models, various 3D predictive maps were generated by multiple 3D methods according to the exploration model. Finally, we use a 3D convolutional neural network (3D CNN) model to integrate all of the 3D predictive maps and delineate the concealed targets. The results show that the high- prospective areas delineated based on the 3DMPM not only include the deposits which are used as training data, but also the deposits that have already been discovered in the study area. It means that the 3DMPM approach used in this paper has good prediction and generalization ability. Compared with the Logistic Regression model (LR), Support Vector Machines (SVM), and Radom Forest (RF) model, the 3D CNN model can efficiently capture the correlation between various deposit types and 3D predictive information, and has better commendable predictive capabilities. The results of this paper can not only provide some new highly prospective areas for further mineral exploration in Chating area but also can promote the research on 3DMPM with deep learning methods. To overcome this challenge, three-dimensional mineral prospectivity modeling (3DMPM) has begun to be widely applied for mapping the prospectivity of deep-seated and concealed mineralization. However, most previous studies on 3DMPM were based on shallow supervised machine learning models and dimensionality-reduced 3D predictive maps. Although these models have shown good results, they may lose spatial correlation within the 3D predictive maps and fail to explore nonlinear correlations between the 3D predictive maps and mineralization. Meanwhile, 3D geological models are the most important basis of the 3DMPM, however, in the past, few studies have incorporated the optimization of the 3D geological models into the process of 3DMPM. Therefore, this paper initially builds and optimizes 3D geological models through implicit 3D geological modeling and "total litho-inversion" approach. Subsequently, the 3D predictive maps are generated by employing various 3D methods, which are further integrated using a 3D convolutional neural network (3D CNN) model to identify highly prospective areas for mineralization. The results show that the highly prospective areas identified by the 3DMPM include not only the training data but also other mineral deposits that have previously been discovered within the study area. In addition, compared with the Logistic Regression model (LR), Support Vector Machines (SVM), and Radom Forest (RF), the 3D CNN performs better prediction capabilities due to its enhanced ability to capture the correlations between 3D predictive maps and multiple types of mineral deposits. It suggests that the 3DMPM based on the 3D CNN model has commendable predictive capabilities in identifying prospective mineralization areas, and some new highly prospective areas can be considered as priority areas for future exploration of concealed mineralization within the Chating Area. Background: Functional gastrointestinal disorders, including functional dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome and functional constipation are very common worldwide. Objective: This research aims to estimate the prevalence and associated factors involved in functional gastrointestinal disorders in Chinese college and university students using the Rome III criteria. Methods: A total of 5000 students from Shandong University in China were asked in January-May 2012 to complete questionnaires, including the Rome III questionnaire, hospital anxiety and depression scale, and negative life events scale. Results: Based on the 4638 students who completed the questionnaire, the prevalence of functional dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome and functional constipation in college and university students of North China worked out to be 9.25%, 8.34% and 5.45% respectively. They were more frequent in female students. The factors of anxiety (OR 1.07; 95% CI 0.99 to 1.16, P = 0.002<0.05) and depression (OR 0.55; 95% CI 0.15 to 1.05, P = 0.045<0.05) indicated a high risk of causing irritable bowel syndrome. Conclusion: Functional dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome and functional constipation were common in college and university students of North China. China faces severe water shortages due to the rapid growth of population and fast development of the economy. Especially in northern coastal cities where China's population and economy are concentrated, the poor water condition has become a critical constraint factor for socio-economic development in the long run. A combined heat-and-power (CHP)-based dual-purpose power plant with low-temperature multi-effect distillation (LT-MED) is a viable answer to the problem for this zone. This paper presents an economic analysis of it based on the cyclical function method, the equivalent enthalpy drop theory, and the analytical theory on steam turbines in off-design working conditions. By solving the matrix calculation models of the cyclical function method and the equivalent enthalpy drop theory, the thermal generating efficiency, the heat and power generation rate (HPGR) and the electricity-equivalent consumption rate (EECR) are analysed to explore the effect of extraction for desalination on the CHP system and the energy cost for water production. The study indicates that utilizing surplus heating extraction load in summer for desalination improves thermal generating efficiency and HPGR of extraction and reduces the fuel cost for water production. It is also shown that EECR is more accurate to evaluate the performance of the desalination process than GOR that is widely used to evaluate the performance of desalination process. It is concluded that the CHP-based dual-purpose power plant is a suitable way to economically provide fresh water resource in northern coastal zone of China. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Genetic factors are known to be important in the development of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Epidermal growth factor (EGF) can activate several signaling pathways leading to proliferation, differentiation, and tumorigenesis of epithelial tissues by binding with its receptor. Interindividual variations in EGF production were genetically contributed to EGF +61 G/A polymorphism. The purpose of this study is to investigate the potential association between EGF gene polymorphism and ESCC in a Chinese population. In this study, we analyzed single nucleotide polymorphism of EGF +61 G/A in 158 patients with ESCC and 212 age- and sex-matched controls in a Chinese population using a polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) strategy and DNA sequencing. The variant genotypes of GA/AA were associated with a significantly decreased risk of ESCC compared with the wild-type homozygote GG (OR = 0.657, 95% CI: 0.434-0.996). However, no significant difference was observed between the EGF +61 G/A polymorphism and the risk of ESCC when the analyses were stratified in terms of age, gender, smoking status, different clinical stage, and lymph node status. The EGF +61 G/A polymorphism is associated with ESCC in a Chinese population. Our data suggests that the EGF gene may play a role in the development of ESCC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Load-side re-electrification—the substitution of prevalent fossil fuel-dominated structures with a wider range of electric end-use technologies—has been recognized as a crucial strategy for systemic decarbonization. This strategy focuses on expanding the proportion of clean energy consumption to support the attainment of carbon neutrality goals. While prior research has explored the ramifications of re-electrification strategies within specific sectors, such as transportation, comprehensive assessments evaluating the impacts of an entire portfolio of load-side options remain scarce. This analysis bridges this gap by scrutinizing the effects of multiple load-side re-electrification options on decarbonization pathways and transition costs within energy systems. We leverage a detailed, bottom-up dispatch model with an hourly resolution for this research. A case study of Northwestern China serves to illuminate the implications of our research, demonstrating that without the deployment of carbon dioxide removal technologies, an extensive load-side re-electrification can yield a maximum carbon dioxide emission reduction of up to 37.15% by 2060. Furthermore, this study offers an in-depth comparison of the transition costs across multiple future scenarios employing foreseeable technologies. Site-based air pollution monitoring data cannot support the regionalization of air pollution prevention and control areas. Faced with this problem, this study proposed a method of regionalizing synergetic prevention and control areas based on multi-source remote sensing data and GIS spatial statistical analysis methods and carried out quantitative analyses of PM 2.5 and O 3 air pollution in China from 2015 to 2020. The results showed that there was an obvious decrease in PM 2.5 concentrations, and O 3 concentrations remained stable; PM 2.5 pollution mostly occurred in autumn and winter, and O 3 pollution occurred in spring and summer. A significant spatial inconsistency was shown between the change rate of PM 2.5 and O 3 concentrations, in which the proportions of PM 2.5 decreasing and O 3 increasing, PM 2.5 and O 3 both decreasing, PM 2.5 and O 3 both increasing, and PM 2.5 increasing and O 3 decreasing accounted for 38.34%, 35.12%, 15.24%, and 10.89%, respectively. The results also showed that the boundary of PM 2.5 and O 3 synergetic prevention and control areas was dynamic during 2015 and 2020, showing a trend of expanding from 2015 to 2018 and then becoming smaller after 2019. Generally, the scope of PM 2.5 and O 3 synergetic prevention and control areas was concentrated in "2+26" cities, Fenwei plain, north of the Yangtze River Delta, and Shandong. In contrast, the regional scopes of "PM 2.5 first" and "O 3 first" were relatively stable. Areas of "PM 2.5 first" were mainly carried out in Liaoning-Jilin, Hubei-Hunan-Jiangxi, Chengdu-Chongqing, and Taklimakan-Hexi Corridor, whereas "O 3 first" areas were mainly in specific regions of the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta, and surrounding areas of Bohai Bay. Remote sensing-based PM 2.5 and O 3 mapping has the advantages of full-coverage and fine spatial simulation, which can support the regionalization of synergetic prevention and control areas and implementation of policies.

Regional ecological quality is largely affected by human activities, which restricts the sustainable development of regional economy. Taking the China-Laos railway economic belt as an example, we investigated the effects of human activities on ecological quality. The remote sensing images of 1999, 2009 and 2019 were selected to calculate remote sensing ecological index (RSEI). Spatial autocorrelation statistics and local G statistics were used to explore the spatial-temporal variations of ecological quality in the study area. Combined with the population density in the same period, a geographically weighted regression model was constructed to quantitatively analyze the ecological effects of different human activity intensities in the study area. The results showed that the ecological quality in the study area presented a trend of increasing firstly and then decreasing later from 1999 to 2019, and that the mean value of RSEI varied from 0.645 (1999) to 0.738 (2009) and then decreasing to 0.721 in 2019. Specially, the ecological quality fluctuated more apparently in the midlands. The results of fitting population density and ecological quality based on geographical weighted regression model (GWR) were significantly better than that of least square method. R 2 of different periods based on GWR was higher than 0.7 and the fitting effect was stable. The fitting degree of GWR in 2019 was the best ( R in 1999 and 2009 were 0.726 and 0.754, respectively. Firmiana danxiaensis is an endemic species of Danxia landform in China. Identifying the main driving factors of its distribution can provide scientific basis for the conservation of F. danxiaensis and related habitats. With GeoDetector, we analyzed the correlation (measured by q value) between the spatial distribution of F. danxiaens and its habitat factors in F. danxiaens Nature Reserve in Nanxiong City and the Guangdong Danxia Mountain Tourism Scenic Area (core scenic area). Factors measured in this study included geographical elements (geomorphological type, soil subtype, elevation, slope, aspect) and climatic elements (annual precipitation and annual sunshine hours, mean annual relative humidity and mean annual wind speed). Our results showed that the main habitat factors affecting the spatial distribution of F. danxiaensis were soil subtype, annual sunshine hours, and geomorphologic genesis type. The q values of those three factors were higher than the mean values of all factors. In the pairwise combination of habitat factors, the interaction between geomorphologic genesis types ∩ annual sunshine hours and soil subtypes ∩ annual sunshine hours was enhanced by two factors and the q value was greater than the mean value of all combinations, with a strong correlation. Compared with other factors, the q value of soil subtypes, annual sunshine hours and geomorphologic genesis types were significantly different in the ecological detection of spatial distribution correlation of F. danxiaensis . The spatial distribution of F. danxiaensis was significantly correlated with soil subtypes, geomorphologic genesis types and annual sunshine hours, indicating that the GeoDetector is a useful method for vegetation habitat factor analysis and species distribution prediction.

Two novel phenanthrenoids, juncuenin H (1) and dijuncuenin B (2), together with eight known phenanthrenoids, effusol (3), dehydroeffusol (4), juncusol (5), dehydrojuncusol (6), juncuenin B (7), dehydrojuncuenin B (8), juncuenin A (9), and dehydrojuncuenin A (10), were isolated from the underground parts of Juncus setchuenensis. The structures of the compounds were determined by 1D and 2D NMR and mass spectroscopy. The anxiolytic activities of compounds 1, 6, 9, and 10 were evaluated. In order to explore the mechanisms underlying their anxiolytic activities, the levels of serotonin (5-HT), dopamine (DA), and their metabolites in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus of mice treated with compound 1 were determined by quantitative mass spectrometry. The mice treated with compound 1 had significantly lower levels of 5-HT, 3-methoxytyramine (3-MT), 5-hydroxyindole-3-acetic acid (5-HIAA), homovanillic acid (HVA), and 3, 4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC) in the cerebral cortex than those of the vehicle control-treated mice. The levels of HVA and 5-HIAA in the hippocampus were also significantly lower in the mice treated with compound 1 than in the control group mice. These results suggest that the metabolic changes, reflected in the levels of DA and/or 5-HT, may contribute to the anxiolytic activity of the phenanthrenoids studied herein., (Copyright © 2019. Purpose: The aim of this study is to obtain a translation and adaptation of the anterior cruciate ligament-return to sport after injury (ACL-RSI) into simplified Chinese and validate the simplified Chinese version., Methods: Translation and adaptation were performed according to the guidelines of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Outcome Committee. A total of 122 patients who were diagnosed with an ACL injury and underwent primary arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) between 2015 and 2016 were included in this study. The simplified Chinese version of the ACL-RSI (SC-ACL-RSI), Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS), Lysholm score and International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) subjective knee form were completed. Psychometric evaluations included score distribution, internal consistency, test-retest reliability, and construct and discriminant validity., Results: SC-ACL-RSI scores exhibited a normal distribution without ceiling and floor effects. Internal consistency was high (Cronbach's alpha = 0.94). The intraclass correlation coefficient was 0.98, indicating excellent test-retest reliability. SC-ACL-RSI scores were correlated with all KOOS subscales (r = 0.30 to 0.69, p < 0.001), the IKDC subjective knee form (r = 0.46, p < 0.001) and the Lysholm score (r = 0.56, p < 0.001). The mean scores between patients who returned to the same preinjury level of sport (65.1 ± 14.3) and those who could not return to the same level (51.0 ± 15.0) were significantly different (p < 0.001)., Conclusions: The SC-ACL-RSI is a reliable and valid instrument to evaluate the psychological impact of a patient returning to sport after ACLR. It is important to evaluate patients' ability to return to sport after an ACL injury. Objectives: Few studies of tornado injuries have considered differences related to damage levels and Enhanced-Fujita (EF) scale ratings. This study aimed to evaluate the pattern, spectrum and geographical distribution of injuries related to the Yancheng tornado and provide guidelines for effective emergency medical strategies., Setting: The study was conducted at three hospitals which treated patients with injuries related to the tornado in Yancheng, China., Participants: We obtained the records of 451 patients with tornado-related injuries. Of these, 401 valid trauma medical records were included; 50 other records were excluded for insufficient information. Informed consent was obtained from all patients by telephone., Main Outcome Measures: We analysed patients' injury sites and types and used the abbreviated injury scale (AIS) to standardise injury severity. Geographical information system and non-parametric tests were used to analyse the effects of geographical factors on casualties., Results: Women, middle-aged/elderly individuals (age>45 years) and children/adolescents (<18 years) accounted for 51.62%, 77.30% and 12.47% of injured patients, respectively. This caused a dumbbell-shaped age distribution. Head (46.63%), body surface (39.90%) and lower-limb (29.43%) injuries were common, as were soft-tissue injuries (90.77%), fractures (38.90%) and organ damage (19.70%). Minor injuries (AIS=1) were common (60.85%), whereas critical/fatal injuries (AIS≥5) were very rare (2.50%). Although the densities of injury varied among damage levels and EF ratings for different areas, area-wise differences in injury severity (AIS scores) were not significant (p>0.05)., Conclusion: We recommend the use of helmets to prevent head injuries caused by tornadoes and suggest prioritising the treatment of high-risk head and multiple-organ injuries. Background: Published data on the association between present/null polymorphism of glutathione S-transferase M1 (GSTM1) and breast cancer risk are inconclusive. To derive a more precise estimation of the relationship, a meta-analysis in the Chinese population was performed., Methods: PubMed, Springer Link, Ovid, Chinese Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Chinese Biology Medicine (CBM) were searched. Crude odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to assess the strength of association between the GSTM1 present/ null polymorphism and breast cancer risk., Results: A total of 17 studies including 5323 breast cancer cases and 7196 controls were involved in this meta-analysis. Overall, a significant association (OR = 1.28, 95%CI: 1.09 - 1.51) was found between the null GSTM1 and breast cancer risk when all studies in Chinese population were pooled into the meta-analysis. In subgroup analyses stratified by geographic areas and source of controls, the same results were observed in mainland China (OR = 1.42, 95% CI = 1.12 - 1.81) and hospital-based studies (OR = 1.55, 95% CI = 1.20 - 2.00)., Conclusions: This meta-analysis suggests that the GSTM1 null genotype is a low-penetrant risk factor for developing breast cancer in the Chinese population.

Background: Relatively few articles have focused on exploring factors influencing soldiers' overall satisfaction and differences between inpatients' and outpatients' satisfaction, particularly in the Chinese army. Elucidating factors influencing military inpatient and outpatient care separately and analyzing their differences may provide more information for the health system., Methods: The Revised China National Health Service Survey questionnaire was used in the survey. The questionnaire included 5 sections and 32 items concerning demographic, inpatient, and outpatient characteristics and perception variables for both inpatients and outpatients. Bivariate and multivariate techniques were used to reveal relationships between satisfaction and the variables assessed., Results: Outpatients' and inpatients' overall satisfaction rates were 19.0% and 18.5%, respectively. The strongest determinant of outpatients' satisfaction was satisfaction with doctor's communication regarding therapeutic regimen followed by length of military service, level of trust in medical staff, and disease severity. Determinants of inpatients' satisfaction included staff categories, satisfaction with environment, and satisfaction with medical quality., Conclusion: The factors influencing military outpatients' satisfaction differed from those of inpatients. Exploring the causes of satisfaction and dissatisfaction with military health institutions is important in their fulfillment of their responsibility to maintain soldiers' health.

Background: An earthquake struck Ludian in Yunnan Province (China) on 3 August 2014, resulting in 3143 injuries, 617 deaths, and 112 missing persons. Our study aimed at estimating the health status and associated determinants among adolescent survivors after the Ludian earthquake., Methods: A cross-sectional survey of 845 was conducted at the Ludian No. 1 Middle School. Descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA and stepwise linear regression analysis were used for data analysis., Results: The mean scores on the physical component summary (PCS) and mental component summary (MCS) were 46.23 (SD=7.10) and 36.34 (SD=7.09), respectively. Lower PCS scores in the aftermath of an earthquake were associated with being trapped or in danger, being female, being an ethnic minority, injury to self and house damage, while lower MSC scores were associated with fear during the earthquake, Han ethnicity, death in the family, not being involved in the rescue and low household income., Conclusions: In our study, significant associations between demographic, socio-economic, and trauma-related experiences variables and overall physical and mental health of adolescent survivors were presented. The results of this study help expand our knowledge of health status among adolescent survivors after the Ludian earthquake.

The social problem of unreasonably high pharmaceutical costs for patients in Chinese hospitals damages the interests of patients and it has a highly negative impact on the long-term development of the Chinese health service. We constructed a system dynamics model to address two problems, i.e., the unreasonably high prices of drugs and the high level of pharmaceutical fees relative to the medical costs of patients, and we suggest countermeasures and possible solutions. The program Vensim DSS was used to construct a system dynamics model to represent the problem of high pharmaceutical fees for patients in Chinese hospitals. If hospital and medical staff receive a higher kickback rate, they are more likely to prescribe unnecessary expensive drugs to make greater profits, which results in unnecessary drug consumption and irrational drug use, eventually leading to unreasonably high pharmaceutical fees. The benefit chain of the main drug suppliers should be cut off. It is necessary to break the link between the profits from pharmaceutical sales and the prescribing behavior of physicians, and hospital incomes, to avoid any conflicts of interest over how medicines are prescribed. Cyclooxygenase (COX), the rate-limiting enzyme in prostaglandins (PG) synthesis, exists in at least two isoforms, COX-1 and COX-2. COX-2 plays an important role in carcinogenesis, and overexpression may increase proliferation, inhibit apoptosis, and enhance the invasiveness of breast cancer cells. Polymorphisms in the regulatory regions of the COX-2 gene may influence function and/or expression and contribute to interindividual variability in susceptibility to cancer. In this study three variants (-1195G/A and -765G/C in the promoter and 8473C/T in 3'UTR) of COX-2 were examined for correlation with breast cancer risk. A case-control study of 615 histologically confirmed breast cancer patients and 643 cancer-free controls frequency-matched for age were selected. Logistic regression analyses revealed that no overall significant associations were detected in the single-locus analysis between three polymorphisms of COX-2 and the risk of breast cancer. However, a significantly increased risk of breast cancer was associated with the combined genotypes containing "more than 3 variant alleles"' (adjusted OR = 1.37, 95% CI 1.01-1.84) compared with the combined genotypes with "0-3 variant alleles." Haplotype analyses showed that haplotypes A-1195G-765T8473 and A-1195C-765T8473 were significantly associated with breast cancer risk (OR = 1.20, 95% CI 1.01-1.43 for A-1195G-765T8473; OR = 9.16, 95% CI 1.14-73.51 for A-1195C-765T8473) compared with the most common haplotype, G-1195G-765T8473. These findings indicate that these three variants in the regulatory regions of COX-2 may contribute to the etiology of breast cancer.

Objective: To investigate the association of polymorphisms of CDT1 and GMNN gene, two important genes participating in DNA replication, with the risk of sporadic breast cancer., Methods: Using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR - RFLP) and the primer-introduced restriction analysis (PIRA)-PCR assay to genotype the CDT1 838G/A and GMNN 387C/A polymorphisms in a case-control study of 427 breast cancer cases and 477 cancer-free controls in a Chinese population., Results: No significant association of the CDT1 838G/A and GMNN 387C/A polymorphisms with the risk of breast cancer was found (adjusted OR:1.16, 95% CI:0.88-1.54 for CDT1 GA+AA genotypes and adjusted OR:0.90, 95% CI:0.67-1.21 for GMNN CA+AA genotypes). However, in the stratified analyses, a significant association of CDT1 GA+AA genotypes with breast cancer risk among subjects with family history of cancer was found (adjusted OR:2.21, 95% CI:1.20-4.09)., Conclusion: These findings suggest that the CDT1 838G/A and GMNN 387C/A polymorphisms may not play a major role in the etiology of breast cancer, but CDT1 variant may have a potential role only in genetically susceptible women.
