Industrial development is an essential foundation of the national economy, but the industry is also the largest source of air pollution, of which power plants, iron and steel, building materials, and other industries emit large amounts of pollutants. Therefore, the Chinese government has promulgated a series of stringent emission regulations, and it is against this backdrop that research into air pollution control technologies for key industrial sectors is in full swing. In particular, during the 13th Five-Year Plan, breakthroughs have been made in pollution control technology for key industrial sectors. A multi-pollutant treatment technology system of desulfurization, denitrification, and dust collection, which applies to key industries such as power plants, steel, and building materials, has been developed. High-performance materials for the treatment of different pollutants, such as denitrification catalysts and desulfurization absorbers, were developed. At the same time, multi-pollutant synergistic removal technologies for flue gas in various industries have also become a hot research topic, with important breakthroughs in the synergistic removal of NO x , SO x , and Hg. Due to the increasingly stringent emission standards and regulations in China, there is still a need to work on the development of multi-pollutant synergistic technologies and further research and development of synergistic abatement technologies for CO 2 to meet the requirements of ultra-low emissions in industrial sectors. Vessel emissions have contributed a great deal to air quality deterioration in China. Hence, the Chinese government has promulgated a series of stringent emission regulations. It is in this context that vessel emission control technology research is in full swing. In particular, during the 13th Five-Year Plan, the air pollution control technology of vessels has greatly improved. Vessel emission control has followed two main governance routes: source emission reduction and aftertreatment technology. Source control focuses on alternative fuels, with two main directions, the development of new fuels and the modification of existing fuels. Moreover, after-treatment technologies have also been developed, including wet desulfurization technology using seawater or alkaline liquids as wet washing liquids and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) for the control of NO x emission. Due to China's increasingly stringent emissions standards and regulations, work on the development of clean alternative fuels and further upgrading the collaborative application of after-treatment technologies to meet the near-zero-emissions requirements of vessels is still necessary. Gynostemma pentaphyllum is a traditional medicine used by ethnic minorities in southwest China and gypenosides are currently recognized as essential components of the pharmacological substances of Gynostemma pentaphyllum, which are effective in regulating metabolic syndrome, especially in improving hepatic metabolic disorders. The present study randomly divided C57BL/6J male mice into the normal diet control group (ND), high-fat diet modeling group (HFD) and gypenosides group (GP). Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS) was applied to quantify bile acids in the liver, bile and serum of mice in ND, HFD and GP groups. Liver proteins were extracted for trypsin hydrolysis and analyzed quantitatively using UPLC-MS + MS/MS (timsTOF Pro 2). Total mouse liver RNA was extracted from ND, HFD and GP groups respectively, cDNA sequencing libraries constructed and sequenced using BGISEQ-500 sequencing platform. The expression of key genes Fxr, Shp, Cyp7a1, Cyp8b1, and Abab11 was detected by RT-qPCR. The results showed that gypenosides accelerated free bile acid synthesis by promoting the expression of bile acid synthase CYP7A1 and CYP8B1 genes and proteins and accelerating the secretion of conjugated bile acids from the liver to the bile ducts. GP inhibited the bile acid transporters solute carrier organic anion transporter family member (SLCO) 1A1 and SLCO1A4, reducing the reabsorption of free bile acids and accelerating the excretion of free bile acids from the blood to the kidneys. It also promoted the metabolic enzyme CYP3A11, which accelerated the metabolism and clearance of bile acids, thus maintaining the balance of the bile acid internal environment. As a prominent member of freshwater and coastal fish faunas, Coilia nasus migrates annually from the sea up the Yangtze River in China to spawn. It is traditionally believed that C. nasus generally do not feed during their spawning migration. However, we recently documented the occurrence of food intake phenomenon in C. nasus following voluntary fasting. The purpose of the current study is to explore the metabolic mechanisms on C. nasus in response to food intake during migration. A total of 23,159 differentially expressed mRNA molecules and 204 metabolites were identified in transcriptome and metabolome analyses. Our results provide insights into the activation of energy consumption and reinforcement of energy storage during migration, and also identify key genes involved in food intake regulation. Coilia nasus is a valuable commercial migratory fish species with ecological and economic importance in China. To explore the molecular mechanisms underlying the response to food intake, the stomach transcriptomes of feeding and non‐feeding C. nasus were analysed via RNA‐seq. A total of 610,640,864 clean reads were obtained, and annotation to six databases identified 63,567 unigenes. Comparative analysis of the gene expression in feeding and non‐feeding C. nasus identified 1,968 differentially expressed genes (p <.05), including 1,180 up‐regulated and 788 down‐regulated genes. Our results showed that stomach distention activated the vagal afferent neurons, resulting in satiation. Several of the most relevant appetite genes (e.g. leptin receptor [LepR], somatostatin [SS], nucleobindin‐2 [NUCB2], 5‐hydroxytryptamine receptor [5‐HTR], growth hormone receptor [GHR]) were also involved in the regulation of food intake and led to the termination of feeding. Furthermore, significant differences were observed in the genes encoding key enzymes involved in metabolism such as the tricarboxylic acid cycle (TCA) pathways, fatty acid synthesis and glycolysis, indicating that C. nasus utilizes food for its energy and nutrient contents to support life and gonadal development. These findings provide valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying appetite and metabolic regulation in anadromous fish and create a foundation for further research on C. nasus artificial breeding and migration energetics. As the main source of dust in Asia, China often suffers from dust events. The temporal and spatial characteristics of dust events change with the variations of geography, climate and human activities. Based on the criteria of selecting dust events proposed recently by the China Environmental Monitoring Station, the hourly concentration of PM10 and PM2.5 of 336 cities in China from 2015 to 2020 were used to study the temporal and spatial characteristics of dust events more accurately and objectively. The results showed that all of the dust events in China clearly decreased, but the strong dust events did not decrease. There were 334 cities that had dust events except Shenzhen and Dongguan, 299 cities were seriously polluted due to dust events, 134 cities encountered dust level III and 56 cities encountered dust level IV. The high frequencies of dust events were mainly distributed in Northern China, especially in Northwest China. The dust contribution of PM10 to the cities in Northwest China was more than 10% and about 5–10% for PM2.5. The most likely month for dust was May. The starting time of dust was bimodally distributed, and the most common starting time was 10:00–11:00 BJT, followed by 22:00–23:00 BJT. According to the PSCF (Potential Source Contribution Function) results, the dust potential source contribution of different cities mainly came from the northwest, and was mainly affected by Mongolia in addition to the local dust in China. In addition, Beijing was obviously affected by dust recirculation. Dust storms have occurred frequently in northwest China and can dramatically reduce visibility and exacerbate air quality in downwind regions through long-range transport. In order to study the distribution characteristics of dust particles sizes, structures and concentrations in the process of dust storm, especially for the vertical distributions, the multi-observation platform composed of six Lidars and nine aerosol analytical instruments is first used to detect a severe dust storm event, which occurred in Northwest China on 3 May 2020. As a strong weather system process, the dust storm has achieved high intensity and wide range. When the intensity of a dust storm is at its strongest, the ratios of PM2.5 (particulate matter with diameter < 2.5 µm) and PM10 (particulate matter with diameter < 10 µm) (PM2.5/PM10) in cities examined were less than 0.2 and the extinction coefficients became greater than 1 km−1 based on Lidar observations. In addition, the growth rates of PM2.5 were higher than that of PM10. The dust particles mainly concentrated at heights of 2 km, after being transported about 200–300 km, vertical height increased by 1–2 km. Meanwhile, the dust concentration decreased markedly. Furthermore, the depolarization ratio showed that dust in the Tengger Desert was dominated by spherical particles. The linear relationships between 532 nm extinction coefficient and the concentration of PM2.5 and PM10 were found firstly and their R2 were 0.706 to 0.987. Our results could give more information for the physical schemes to simulate dust storms in specific models, which could improve the forecast of dust storms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
