As a systemic metabolic disease caused by a variety of factors, osteoporosis is characterized by reduced bone mass, bone tissue microstructural degradation, and decreased bone mechanical properties, accompanied by bone fragility and fracture, which is a common risk of senile disease. In China, osteoporosis has become a common disease and has frequent morbidity, with the incidence trend on the rise. Bisphosphates have received much attention in this field as inhibitory bone resorption agents, and sodium olpadronate belongs to the third-generation bisphosphonates. This experiment investigated the synthetic process and pharmacological activity of sodium olpadronate. Using 3-(N,N-dimethylamino)-propionitrile as the starting material, the synthesis process was improved to reduce cost with a total yield of 49.7%, which was 24.0% higher than that reported in the literature. Pharmacodynamic experiments showed that sodium olpadronate could be used to treat osteoporosis. Moreover, toxicology experiments showed no obvious toxic side effects. Vitiligo, an autoimmune disease, is a depigmentation skin disorder characterized by hypopigmentation spots and patches that are difficult to treat. The purpose of this study is to analyze the clinical efficacy of simvastatin in the treatment of vitiligo. From December 2016 to October 2019, five vitiligo patients from Peking Union Medical College Hospital were treated with simvastatin and tacrolimus. For simvastatin, the first three patients (patient 1, patient 2, and patient 3) began to take 40 mg/day, and the latter two patients began to take 20 mg/day. From week 5, patients 1 and 2 received 20 mg simvastatin once a day. And the 0.1% tacrolimus ointment was used topically. The response was measured using the Vitiligo European Task Force (VETF) scoring system at baseline and at the fourth and eighth weeks of treatment. The results of the VETF score showed that three of the patients achieved significant clinical efficacy. There was no significant improvement in the other two cases. No serious acute or chronic side effects were observed. In conclusion, our results suggest that conventional oral simvastatin is safe, although it may not be effective in the treatment of vitiligo. Wind data for the year 2004 was analyzed to evaluate the wind potential of Zhurihe station, which is the windiest region at the Inner Mongolia of China. In the present study, the probability density distributions are derived from time-series data and the wind energy potential of Zhurihe station is evaluated by the Weibull model. The analysis showed that spring months have comparatively high monthly mean wind values. While the summer months of July and August have the smallest monthly mean wind speed values of 3.532 m/s and 3.467 m/s, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
