Karst regions are characterized by unique geological formations that pose challenges to soil fertility and plant nutrition. In this study, we investigated the distribution and interactions of selenium (Se) in soils of Zheng'an County, a representative karst region in subtropical China. The results showed that the Se enrichment in the soils of Zheng'an County was high, with total contents ranging from 0.49 to 3.87 mg/kg and an average of 1.22 mg/kg, making the area Se-rich. Despite the abundance of Se, the effective percentage of Se uptake by plants was relatively low due to the generally moderately acidic nature of the soils in the region (pH: 5.98–6.60), which encourages the conversion of the available Se into forms that are not readily accessible. In addition, the high organic matter (OM) content (21.92–127.66 g/kg) promoted Se retention by interacting with Ca2+ in carbonate rocks. In addition, the clay content (50.73% to 76.19%) enhanced Se adsorption and limited Se availability. In conclusion, this study provides a basis for soil management and ecological restoration strategies in karst landscapes, highlights new insights into the dynamics of Se, and calls for further research to elucidate the Se availability mechanism and improve the efficiency of Se uptake by plants. Meanwhile, this study provides the first systematic study of Se transport and transformation, as well as Se-enriched Gastrodia elata in karst regions, and provides a preliminary understanding of the geochemical behavior of Se in karst regions. COVID‐19 centralized quarantine may cause acute stress disorder (ASD). However, it is unknown how individuals present heterogeneous ASD trajectories during the COVID‐19 centralized quarantine and what factors contribute to these patterns. This study aimed to identify the ASD trajectories and their determinants during the centralized quarantine period, and the mediating effects of resilience on these associations. A longitudinal survey with three waves was conducted in a randomly selected quarantine hotel in Shenzhen, China from October to November 2020. A total of 273 participants completed online measures assessing ASD symptoms, Eysenck's personality constructs of extraversion (E), neuroticism (N), psychoticism (P), and resilience on Day 1, and reported ASD symptoms on Days 7 and 14 during their 14‐day centralized quarantine periods. Latent class growth analysis identified three trajectories: constantly high symptoms (CHS, 4.76%), decreasing symptoms (DS, 11.72%), and constantly low symptoms (CLS, 83.52%). The CHS and DS subgroups both reported lower E and higher N scores, but not P, compared with the CLS subgroup. Resilience mediated the effects of three personality constructs on ASD trajectories, except for the association between N and DS membership. Our study highlights the heterogeneity in stress responses to the COVID‐19 centralized quarantine. The high‐risk subgroup with persistent ASD symptoms was characterized by lower E and higher N. The resilience process accounted for the effects of personality in shaping distinct ASD trajectories. Climate warming is a critical environmental issue affecting rice production. However, its effects on cooked rice texture and rice thermal properties remain unstudied in China. To address this gap, we conducted a two-year multi-site field warming experiment using free-air temperature increase facilities across three major Chinese rice cropping systems. Interestingly, warming had a minimal impact on the hardness of cooked rice, while it significantly increased stickiness by an average of 16.3% under warming conditions. Moreover, compared to control treatments, rice flour exhibited a significant increase in gelatinization enthalpy, onset, peak, and conclusion temperatures under warming conditions, with average increments of 8.7%, 1.00 °C, 1.05 °C, and 1.17 °C, respectively. In addition, warming significantly declined the amylose content, remarkedly elevated the protein content and relative crystallinity, and altered the weight distribution of the debranched starch. Correlation analysis revealed significant relationships between cooked rice stickiness, rice flour thermal properties, amylose content, protein content, and partial starch structures. This study intends to build a theoretical mechanism of agricultural socialization services for the eco-efficiency of agricultural land use from two paths, namely the agricultural division of labor and technological progress, and empirically calibrate the Tobit model based on the data of the China Family Tracking Survey (CFPS) for 4453 farming households in 23 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) across China. The results of the study show the following: (1) Agricultural socialization services can significantly improve the eco-efficiency of agricultural land use. (2) Hired labor services are more likely to promote eco-efficiency in agricultural land use than farm machinery leasing, especially in major food-producing areas; however, in non-major food-producing areas, the effectiveness of farm machinery leasing services is limited or affected by regional policy differences. (3) In the analysis of the mechanism of agricultural socialization services on the eco-efficiency of agricultural land use, the division of labor in agriculture plays an intermediary role, and the intermediary effect accounts for about 11.4%; however, there is a masking effect of technological progress. This means that China should further develop the role of agricultural socialized services in promoting the ecological efficiency of agricultural land use by developing agricultural socialized service organizations, accelerating the integration of farmers into the modern agricultural division of labor, and promoting the application of green agricultural machinery, among other measures. Genike, the imatinib (IM)-alpha form is widely used in the treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) patients in China. We wanted to investigate whether there are differences in IM plasma concentrations, adverse events, health-related quality of life (QOL) and outcomes between patients treated with Genike and Glivec. Thirty included GIST patients receiving IM treatment were matched to either Genike or Glivec according to gastrectomy, body weight, body surface area and sex. There was no statistically significant difference in IM trough plasma levels between the two groups. There were no significant differences in very common adverse events of IM between the Genike and Glivec groups. IM was well tolerated, although it was associated with a significant change in cognitive function (P < 0.001), fatigue (P = 0.015), pain (P = 0.015), nausea/vomiting (P = 0.029), insomnia (P = 0.019), diarrhea (P = 0.003) and financial difficulties (P < 0.001). Physical functioning, financial burden and insomnia were significantly different between the two groups (P = 0.026). Until Aug. 2022, there was no significant difference in time to imatinib treatment failure (TTF) between the two groups. In conclusion, there was no difference in IM plasma concentration and adverse events between Genike and Glivec. Both Genike and Glivec could partially decrease the QOL of GIST patients. Physical functioning was worse in Genike group than in Glivec group, while the economic burden and symptoms of insomnia in Glivec patients were worse. Quantitative precipitation estimation (QPE) by radar observation data is a crucial aspect of meteorological forecasting operations. Accurate QPE plays a significant role in mitigating the impact of severe convective weather. Traditional QPE methods mainly employ an exponential Z–R relationship to map the radar reflectivity to precipitation intensity on a point-to-point basis. However, this isolated point-to-point transformation lacks an effective representation of convective systems. Deep learning-based methods can learn the evolution patterns of convective systems from rich historical data. However, current models often rely on 2 km-height CAPPI images, which struggle to capture the complex vertical motions within convective systems. To address this, we propose a novel QPE model: combining the classic extrapolation model ConvLSTM with Unet for an encoder-decoder module assembly. Meanwhile, we utilize three-dimensional radar echo images as inputs and introduce the convolutional block attention module (CBAM) to guide the model to focus on individual cells most likely to trigger intense precipitation, which is symmetrically built on both channel and spatial attention modules. We also employ asymmetry in training using weighted mean squared error to make the model concentrate more on heavy precipitation events which are prone to severe disasters. We conduct experiments using radar data from North China and Eastern China. For precipitation above 1 mm, the proposed model achieves 0.6769 and 0.7910 for CSI and HSS, respectively. The results indicate that compared to other methods, our model significantly enhances precipitation prediction accuracy, with a more pronounced improvement in forecasting accuracy for heavy precipitation events. Potato black dot became an increasingly severe disease in Inner Mongolia, mainly infecting tubers, causing silvery to brown lesions on tuber skin with poorly defined margins and forming black sclerotia later as a sign of skin blemish diseases which significantly affected the yield and fresh market. The C11 and E21 strains isolated from symptomatic tubers of Harqin and Dalate counties were both identified as Colletotrichum coccodes by morphological and molecular identification. Tubers showing silver or brown scurf and black dot on skin were consistent with symptomatic samples collecting from the field in pathogenicity test. This study for pathogenic identification ascertained a tricky disease of potato in Inner Mongolia of China which will lay the foundation for subsequent studies on disease control. To solve the problems of high sampling requirements and low predictive accuracy resulting from the complexity, uniqueness, and randomness of predicting the risk of the CO2 and N2 injection to enhance coal seam gas drainage (CO2/N2–ECGD) technology. The principal component analysis (PCA) method to reduce the dimensionality of the factor data that contribute to the effect risk of the technology was adopted. And the particle swarm optimization (PSO) method was implemented to search for optimal hyperparameters in support vector machine (SVM) by particle search, as a solution to the traditional SVM hyperparameters optimization problem. A novel risk prediction model using machine learning algorithms for gas injection displacement technology was constructed. The prediction results were tested and compared with those of backpropagation (BP), Random Forest (RF), and Decision Tree (DT) models using data from 29 gas injection displacement field projects in China. The results demonstrated that the SVM model had greater accuracy in prediction than the other three models. Additionally, after PSO optimization and dimensionality reduction, the PCA–PSO–SVM model reached 100% prediction accuracy, while requiring less modeling and operation time. The study provided a reliable and reasonable model for predicting technical effects, along with a theoretical basis for risk management and prevention. The no-pillar longwall mining method (NPLM) by roof cutting technology (RCT) is an innovative longwall mining method proposed in China. Its essential technology is the employment of RCT to replace the chain pillar to safeguard the roadway. In this paper, a novel physical model test method is designed to investigate the protective mechanism of RCT for roadways in greater detail. Furthermore, the physical model test of RCT is conducted in consideration of the effect of broken roof rock bulking. Combined with numerical simulation, the results indicate that RCT can increase the degree of gangue bulking in goaf, hence providing effective support to the overlying strata and maintaining their integrity. Moreover, RCT can significantly reduce the abutment stress of the roadway roof and solid coal side, thereby ensuring the stability of roadway surrounding rock. This paper proposes three protection mechanisms of RCT for roadway based on the findings of the conducted research: I. Reducing the dimensions of roadway roof; II. Utilizing bulking gangue to support the overlying strata; III. Eliminating the cavities in the goaf adjacent to the roadway. The in situ application provides evidence that RCT is effective in controlling roadway deformation. This paper can serve as a reference for no-pillar mining and analogous geotechnical engineering physical model tests. Highlights: A novel two-dimensional physical model test method is developed that can achieve bulking after failure. Research Findings: In this research, 487 Chinese children age 3 to 5 years took part in a number line estimation task. This task was used to assess children's estimation accuracy and their estimation patterns along a number line in two different estimation circumstances. Situation A had the same line lengths for different numeric ranges, whereas situation B held the ratio of line lengths to numeric ranges constant. There were also three different number ranges (1-5/10/20). A new mathematical modeling method was proposed, where the two-dimensional estimation patterns of one child would be modeled as points in a higher dimensional space. Then the Dirichlet process Gaussian mixture model was applied to dynamically estimate the number of classes and assemble the different points into discrete classes based on distance. Three conclusions were drawn as follows: (a) significant differences were found within children for different ages and number ranges; (b) Chinese preschoolers had more estimation patterns than just linear pattern and logarithmic pattern, especially in small number ranges; and (c) mental number distance played an important role in their estimation patterns. Practice or Policy: Implications for early mathematic instruction on children's understanding of mental number line are discussed.

Despite rapid economic growth in China since 1978, rural-urban inequality has widened. High levels of socioeconomic inequality can have profound implications for child development and lifelong educational equity. Using a dataset containing early childhood development (ECD) outcomes of 0- to 3-year-olds (N = 9,053) from study sites in Eastern, Central, and Western China, the study finds that the risks of cognitive, language, and motor delay are, respectively, 43.2, 18.3, and 20.7 percentage points higher in rural study sites than in urban Shanghai (ps <.01). Impact evaluation of cluster-randomized experiments shows that parental training (focusing on child psychosocial stimulation and caregiver-child interaction) can improve parenting beliefs and practices (or investments) and ECD outcomes of disadvantaged rural children (p<.01). Objective To analyze the risk factors for dismal prognosis in patients with cryptococcal meningitis and construct a prediction scoring system Nomogram model. Methods A total of 100 patients with cryptococcal meningitis who treated with anticryptococcal therapy admitted to Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University from January 2010 to August 2022 were selected. The patients were divided into favorable prognosis group (n = 19) and dismal prognosis group (n = 81) according to the results of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) cryptococcal culture during hospitalization and clinical symptoms and signs at the time of discharge. Risk factors were screened by using univariate and multivariate stepwise Logistic regression analyses. A Nomogram model was constructed based on the risk factors, the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and calibration curves of the model were plotted, and Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test was performed. Results The proportion of patients in the dismal prognosis group with Nutritional Risk Screening 2002 (NRS 2002) score (Z =-3.898, P = 0.000), CSF pressure > 250 mm H2O (χ² = 9.512, P = 0.002) and duration of antifungal treatment < 14 d (χ² = 17.847, P = 0.000) on admission were higher than those in the favorable prognosis group, and the blood routine red blood cell count (t =-2.802, P = 0.006) and lymphocyte count (Z =-2.878, P = 0.004), plasma albumin (t =-4.332, P = 0.000), and the proportion of amphotericin B application (χ² = 4.597, P = 0.032) were lower than those in the favorable prognosis group. Logistic regression analysis showed the admission high NRS 2002 score (OR = 3.258, 95%CI: 1.337-7.940; P = 0.009), CBF pressure > 250 mm H2O (OR = 0.108, 95%CI: 0.018-0.659; P = 0.016), and the duration of antifungal treatment < 14 d (OR = 0.092, 95%CI: 0.011-0.742; P = 0.025) were risk factors for dismal prognosis of cryptococcal meningitis. A Nomogram model was constructed based on the above 3 risk factors, and the area under the ROC curve was 0.927 (95%CI: 0.873-0.980, P = 0.000), which predicted a cut-off value of 53.50 points for dismal prognosis in cryptococcal meningitis; the calibration curve (with good consistency), and the Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test (χ² = 2.694, P = 0.912) indicated that the model had good discrimination, calibration and stability. Conclusions Patients with cryptococcal meningitis with a high NRS 2002 score, CSF pressure > 250 mm H2O, and antifungal treatment < 14 d had a dismal prognosis, and the Nomogram model constructed accordingly has a high predictive value of dismal prognostic risk. To prospectively investigate associations between the features of gut microbiota at the fourth week after birth in preterm infants and neurodevelopment from 1 month of corrected age to 6 months of corrected age (MCA). Seventy-seven preterm infants were recruited from three NICUs of three tertiary hospitals between Apr 2021 to Sep 2022. Stool samples were collected during the fourth week after birth. Illumina MiSeq high-throughput sequencing technology was used to detect the composition and diversity of gut microbiota. Neurodevelopment assessments of preterm infants were conducted at 1, 3, and 6 MCA using the Ages and Stages Questionnaire, the third edition (ASQ-3). Spearman correlation, a generalized linear mixed model (GLMM), and permutational multivariate analysis of variance (PERMANOVA) analysis were used to horizontally and prospectively explore the associations between gut microbial and ASQ-3 dimension scores at each time point. The GLMM showed no significant associations between the alpha diversity and neurodevelopmental trajectory from 1 to 6 MCA. The beta diversity was significantly associated with gross motor scores at 1, 3, and 6 MCA (R2 = 0.067, p = 0.001; R2 = 0.039, p = 0.020; R2 = 0.031, p = 0.047); communication scores at 3 MCA (R2 = 0.030, p = 0.040); and fine motor scores at 6 MCA (R2 = 0.035, p = 0.022). After adjusting for covariates, the GLMM showed that the relative abundance of Klebsiella was negatively associated with gross motor score trajectory from 1 to 6 MCA (β = − 1.449; 95% CI, − 2.275 to − 0.572; p = 0.001), while the relative abundance of Lactobacillus displayed a positive association (β = 1.421; 95% CI, 0.139 to 2.702; p = 0.030). Moreover, the relative abundance of Streptococcus was negatively associated with fine motor trajectory from 1 to 6 MCA (β = − 1.669; 95% CI, − 3.305 to − 0.033; p = 0.046). Conclusion: Our results suggest a possible association between the neonatal gut microbial diversity; the relative abundance of Klebsiella, Streptococcus, and Lactobacillus; and neurodevelopment from 1 to 6 MCA. In the future, clinical staff can focus on the window period of gut microbiota colonization, and implement probiotics targeted at the dominant genera to improve the neurodevelopment of preterm infants. Urban public open spaces are crucial for residents' well-being, yet accessibility issues persist, affecting activities and social interactions. To this end, we take the main urban area of Jiamusi City, the most northeastern city in China, as an example. We start by examining both spatial and perceptual dimensions, using the Gaussian two-step moving search method to measure spatial accessibility, combining online data with multi-source data from questionnaires. Furthermore, we utilize structural equation modeling to explore the impact of accessibility on place attachment within urban public open spaces. The results show that (1) accessibility has a positive effect on place attachment, while place satisfaction plays a mediating role. (2) There were significant differences in spatial accessibility across modes of travel. Car travel had the best spatial accessibility, followed by bicycle, and walking had the lowest spatial accessibility. (3) Perceived accessibility and spatial accessibility differ, but perceived accessibility it is more persuasive in explaining and illustrating place attachment. Reducing travel costs and meeting the user needs will effectively increase place attachment and place identity. (4) Social factors such as age, education, and residency length also affect accessibility, satisfaction, and attachment. By understanding the impact of accessibility on place attachment, this study helps urban planners to better design urban spatial layout and transportation networks. It enhances people's attachment to specific places by improving the convenience of traveling, promotes sustainable urban development, and enriches the discourse on the enhancement of psychological motivation in urban public open spaces. This research theoretically analysed how corporate value is enhanced when Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOEs) shift their focus. In our analysis of Chinese SOEs listed in A-shares from 2013 to 2019, we describe their process of returning to their primary business using the 'three supply and one industry' (3S1I) handover policy. We conducted a quasi-natural experiment to study whether refocusing on SOEs can improve their value. The research shows that the policy enhances the efficiency of SOEs, thus increasing their value. These results were particularly evident among local SOEs. Moreover, SOE employees' social responsibility performance may have a negative moderating effect on efficiency, indicating that excessive social responsibility can lead to a loss in efficiency and a reduction in SOE value. We conclude by discussing why SOEs should prioritize improving economic value and then fulfil social responsibilities to enhance social value through social purchasing and other ways. Summary: Background: The relationship between sugar‐free beverage (SFB) intake and childhood obesity among Chinese children is unknown. Objectives: To describe the status of SFB consumption among children and adolescents in China and assess the association between SFB intake and different types of obesity. Methods: The study was based on the baseline data of an ongoing cohort project named Evaluation and Monitoring on School‐based Nutrition and Growth in Shenzhen (EMSNGS). Food frequency questionnaires were used to collect information on SFB consumption in 3227 students aged 9–17. Physical and clinical examinations were conducted by trained investigators and clinicians. Multivariable binary logistic regression models were performed to assess the association between SFB intake and general obesity, overweight/obesity, abdominal obesity, metabolically unhealthy overweight (MUOW)/metabolically unhealthy obesity (MUO). Results: The median age of the participants was 13.28 years. Among the participants, 55.2% were boys, and 66.1% were adolescents. The median SFB consumption was 16.67 mL/d. After adjusting for potential confounding factors, each 100 mL increase in daily SFB intake was associated with an increased risk of overweight/obesity (OR = 1.14; 95%CI: 1.06–1.23), abdominal obesity (OR = 1.12; 95%CI: 1.03–1.23), and MUOW/MUO (OR = 1.12; 95%CI: 1.02–1.21), respectively. Stratified analyses showed that family income may have an impact on the association between SFB intake and overweight/obesity (P for interaction = 0.021) and abdominal obesity (P for interaction = 0.031). During China's reform era, dominant narratives described a transition away from centralised planning in favour of mutually reinforcing processes of liberalisation and decentralisation. Under Xi Jinping, the talk has increasingly been of the recentralisation of authoritarian-state powers and party discipline. Questioning both reform-era transition narratives and equally simplifying claims about their recent reversal, the paper argues for an enriched treatment of party–state spatiality, understood as a polymorphic and multi-scalar process, rather than simply a more complex one. In the emergent Greater Bay Area megaregion, 'new era' zoning strategies are being repurposed as drivers of pathfinding reforms animated by the party–state, in contrast to received readings of zones as single-purpose instruments of liberalisation. Background and Aim: Both intestinal symptoms and comorbidities exist in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) patients and influence their quality of life (QOL). More research is needed to determine how these variables impact the QOL of IBS patients. This study aimed to determine which specific factors had a higher influence on QOL and to further compare the effects of intestinal symptoms and comorbidities on QOL. Methods: IBS patients were recruited from six tertiary hospitals in different regions of China. QOL, gastrointestinal symptoms, and comorbidities were assessed by different scales. Correlation analysis, multiple linear regression, and mediation model were used for statistics. Results: Four hundred fifty‐three IBS patients (39.7% women, mean age 45 years) were included and no significant differences in QOL were found across demographic characteristics. Abnormal defecation (r = −0.398), fatigue (r = −0.266), and weakness (r = −0.286) were found to show higher correlation with QOL. More than 40% of IBS patients were found to suffer from varying degrees of anxiety or depression, and anxiety (r = −0.564) and depression (r = −0.411) were significantly negatively correlated with QOL (P < 0.001). Psychological factors showed the strongest impact (β′ = −0.451) and play a strong mediating role in the impact of physiological symptoms on QOL. Anxiety was found to be the strongest factor (β′ = −0.421). Conclusion: Compared with other symptoms, psychological symptoms, particularly anxiety, are more common and have a more negative influence on QOL. The QOL of IBS patients is also significantly impacted by abnormal defecation, abdominal distension, and systemic extraintestinal somatic symptoms. Maternal poor sleep quality may increase blood pressure during pregnancy, but sound evidence is still limited and inconsistent. To evaluate whether sleep disturbances in early gestation are risk factors for the development of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, we conducted the Early Life Plan Project from June 2016 to December 2019. Maternal sleep patterns were assessed at 12–16 weeks of gestation by using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire. For gestational hypertension and preeclampsia, we estimated adjusted odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) using multinomial logistic regression models adjusting for potential confounders. Among 5,532 eligible women, we observed that maternal blood pressure in early gestation was significantly higher in women with low sleep efficiency (≤85%), long sleep duration (≥9 hours/night), and snoring. Compared with nonsnorers, snoring in early gestation was independently associated with preeclampsia (OR = 1.72 (95% CI: 1.09, 2.73) for snoring once or twice per week; OR = 2.06 (95% CI: 1.01, 4.31) for snoring 3 or more times per week), particularly for term preeclampsia (OR = 1.79 (95% CI: 1.08, 2.95) and 2.26 (95% CI: 1.03, 4.95), respectively). Purpose: To explore the effects of a group-based multicomponent exercise program on general cognitive functioning, depression, and social functioning in community-dwelling older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and whether the effects can be maintained. Method: Fifty older adults with MCI were conveniently recruited from two communities in the study area and randomly assigned to the intervention group or control group. The intervention group received three sessions of 60-minute, multicomponent exercise per week for 3 months, plus MCI-related health education. The control group only received MCI-related health education. Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and Montreal Cognitive Assessment Beijing Version (MoCA-BJ) were used to assess general cognitive function. The Functional Activities Questionnaire (FAQ) and Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-30) were used to evaluate participants' social function and depression, respectively. Participants' exercise intensity was assessed using the Category Ratio Scale. Results: After the 3-month intervention, there were significant improvements in general cognitive function (p = 0.046), attention (p = 0.009), delayed recall (p = 0.015), and social function (p = 0.011) in the intervention group compared with the control group. However, after 3-month postintervention follow up, no significant differences in MMSE, MoCA-BJ, GDS-30, and FAQ scores were noted between groups. Conclusion: The 3-month multicomponent exercise program improved general cognitive function and social functioning in community-dwelling older adults with MCI. Utilizing panel data pertaining to green building across 333 prefecture-level administrative units in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) during the period spanning 2008–2020, an exhaustive examination of the evolution of China's spatial pattern in green building is conducted employing the nearest neighbor index method, spatial autocorrelation analysis method, and kernel density analysis method. Furthermore, geographic probes are employed to scrutinize the determinants influencing China's spatial configuration of green buildings. The findings reveal that: (1) An alteration in the density distribution from a "unipolar nucleus and double sub-nuclei" configuration to a "triple polar nuclei and multiple sub-nuclei" manifestation has been discerned in the spatial agglomeration of green buildings in China, exhibiting annual growth. Additionally, the center of green building development has shifted from the northwest to the southwest. (2) Pronounced agglomerations are predominantly situated in the eastern, central, and western regions of the country. High-high agglomerations have gradually dissipated over time in the central provincial capitals of China, the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, and the city clusters of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei along the eastern seaboard. The western regions manifest a concentration of low-low and low-high aggregates, with high-low agglomeration primarily observed in the provincial capitals of the western regions. Background: Pharmacy intravenous admixture service (PIVAS) center has emerged as an important department of hospitals as it can improve occupational protection and ensure the safety and effectiveness of intravenous infusions. However, there is little research on the standardized capability and risk evaluation of PIVAS by using modern information technology. In this research, we established Regional Pharmacy Intravenous Admixture Services Data Reporting and Analysis Platform (RPDRAP) to improve quality control ability for PIVAS management. RPDRAP including evaluation matrix for quality control monitoring. The construction of platform is based on guidelines for the Construction and Management of PIVAS and management specifications of PIVAS in China. Methods: RPDRAP was established in 2018. This platform comprises a data collection system and a data analysis system. The data collection system consists of 67 data items. Data collection relied on online platforms through data acquisition module. The collected data were analyzed using a model with 20 indicators within the data analysis system. Fifteen hospitals, public comprehensive healthcare facilities with more than 500 beds, participated in the platform's application evaluation. Results: The study revealed significant differences in PIVAS total score, supervisors, and workload between 2020 and 2022. The platform's application results demonstrated improvements in personnel management, work efficiency, and infection control within these PIVAS. Although statistical significance was observed in only 8 out of the 25 items, most of the scores showed an increase, with a small portion remaining unchanged and no decline in scores. Conclusions: This platform can be recommended for PIVAS homogeneous and regional efficient management. The use of this platform not only improves the quality control ability of PIVAS but also enables the management department to quickly grasp the current situation and characteristics of each PIVAS through standardized data collection and analysis. Aim: Patients with advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) exhibiting an imatinib plasma trough concentration (IM Cmin) under 1100 ng/ml may show a reduced drug response rate, leading to the suggestion of monitoring for IM Cmin. Consequently, the objective of this research was to create a customized IM Cmin classification model for patients with advanced GISTs from China. Methods: Initial data and laboratory indicators from patients with advanced GISTs were gathered, and the above information was segmented into a training set, validation set, and testing set in a 6:2:2 ratio. Key variables associated with IM Cmin were identified to construct the classification model using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression and forward stepwise binary logistic regression. Within the training and validation sets, nine ML classification models were constructed via the resampling method and underwent comparison through the Brier scores, the areas under the receiver-operating characteristic curve (AUROC), the decision curve, and the precision-recall (AUPR) curve to determine the most suitable model for this dataset. Two methods of internal validation were used to assess the most suitable model's classification performance: tenfold cross-validation and random split-sample validation (test set), and the value of the test set AUROC was used to evaluate the model's classification performance. Results: Six key variables (gender, daily IM dose, metastatic site, red blood cell count, platelet count, and percentage of neutrophils) were ultimately selected to construct the classification model. In the validation set, it is found by comparison that the Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) model has the largest AUROC, the lowest Brier score, the largest area under the decision curve, and the largest AUPR value. Furthermore, as evaluated via internal verification, it also performed well in the test set (AUROC = 0.725). Conclusion: For patients with advanced GISTs who receive IM, initial data and laboratory indicators could be used to accurately estimate whether the IM Cmin is below 1100 ng/ml. SARS-CoV-2 and its variants are widely prevalent worldwide. With frequent secondary and breakthrough infections, immune dysfunction in RA patients, and long-term use of immune preparations, SARS-CoV-2 infection poses a significant challenge to patients and rheumatologists. Whether SARS-CoV-2 infection causes RA flares and what factors aggravate RA flares are poorly studied. A questionnaire survey was conducted on RA patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 after December 7, 2022, in China through a multicenter and inter-network platform regarding general personal condition, primary disease, comorbidity, SARS-CoV-2 vaccination, viral infection, and impact on the primary disease. A total of 306 RA patients were included in this study, and the patient data were analyzed, in which the general condition of RA patients, medication use before SARS-CoV-2 infection and post-infection typing and manifestations, and medication adjustment did not affect the Flare of RA patients after SARS-CoV-2 infection. The control of disease before SARS-CoV-2 infection (OR = 2.10), RA involving pulmonary lesions (OR = 2.28), and the recovery time of COVID-19 (OR = 2.50) were risk factors for RA flare. The driving factors of China's industrial carbon emissions are decomposed by generalized Divisia index method (GDIM), so as to study the reasons for the change of China's industrial carbon emissions. The decoupling effect of China's industrial carbon emissions and economic growth is examined by speed decoupling and quantity decoupling. The speed decoupling is calculated by Tapio decoupling elasticity and emission reduction effort function, and the quantity decoupling is measured by environmental Kuznets curve (EKC). The results show that the positive driving factors are output size effect > industrial energy consumption effect > population size effect, and the negative driving factors are investment carbon emission effect > output carbon intensity effect > per capita output effect > economic efficiency effect > energy intensity effect. The elasticity of emission reduction is basically greater than that of energy conservation, indicating that there is still abundant room for efforts in emission reduction. The overall decoupling effect of carbon emissions is undecoupling–strong decoupling–undecoupling. Quadratic EKC shape is "U" shape, and the inflection point is 11.0987; the shape of cubic EKC is "N," and the inflection points are − 0.0137 and 2.4069, respectively, which satisfies the hypothesis of EKC curve. This paper investigates the impact of volatility in profitability shock, capital price distortion and adjustment costs on capital misallocation among Chinese industrial firms. We estimate a dynamic model pertaining firms' investment decision, incorporating institutional differences between state and private firms, so the model can reproduce salient features observed from Chinese firms. Our analysis shows: (i) capital price distortion is more severe among state firms than private ones; (ii) adjusting capital is more costly for state than private firms; (iii) volatility in profitability shock is a major source that causes capital misallocation for both types of firms. Purpose: The rising incidence and mortality associated with cutaneous malignant tumours highlight the importance of early diagnosis of these tumors. In clinical practice, these tumors are often misdiagnosed as benign skin lesions such as melanocytic nevi (MN) and seborrheic keratosis (SK) because of their similar morphologic features. The incidence and clinicopathological subtypes of cutaneous malignancies in East Asia populations significantly differ from those in fair-skinned groups. However, studies on misdiagnoses in Eastern countries are lacking. Therefore, this study focused on the clinical and pathological features of cutaneous malignant tumors misdiagnosed as MN or SK in a Chinese population. Patients and Methods: A total of 4592 samples clinically diagnosed as MN (n = 3503) or SK (n = 1089) from July 2014 to June 2022 were collected and evaluated retrospectively. The clinical and pathological data were analyzed to identify associated factors. Results: Pathological assessments showed that 2.5% (86/3503) of the specimens clinically diagnosed as MN were malignancies, predominantly basal cell carcinoma (BCC, 84.9%, 73/86), followed by malignant melanoma (MM, 8.1%, 7/86) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC, 7.0%, 6/86). Similarly, 5.7% (62/1089) of the specimens clinically diagnosed as SK were malignant tumors, of which BCC (50.0%, 31/62) was the most common, followed by SCC (41.9%, 26/62) and MM (8.1%, 5/62). In both types of specimens, advanced age and facial lesions were risk factors for malignancy misdiagnosis. The malignancy rate, mean age, and proportion of SCC in the specimens clinically diagnosed as SK were higher than those in the specimens clinically diagnosed as MN. Dermoscopy significantly reduced the rate of misdiagnosis of these tumors as MN or SK. Conclusion: In China, cutaneous malignant tumors misdiagnosed as MN or SK are not uncommon in clinical practice, and active introduction of noninvasive diagnostic techniques is essential to distinguish them. The research attention is increasingly directed towards the effective integration of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the limitations of the real world and amidst intersectoral conflicts. In light of the inextricable relationship between irrigation and energy, the objective of this study is to identify potential avenues for achieving the SDG6 and SDG7 goals of enhancing water use efficiency in agriculture and eradicating energy poverty, respectively. Utilizing data from 30 Chinese provinces from 2002 to 2017, this study explores the dynamic influence of energy poverty on agricultural water efficiency with a system generalized method of moments methodology. The findings suggest that energy poverty may greatly reduce agricultural water efficiency. The heterogeneity study shows that when agricultural water efficiency grows, the negative impacts of energy poverty continue to fade. Based on an assessment of various processes, results suggest that non-farm employment and cropping structure modification is a prominent conduit via which energy poverty negatively influences agricultural water efficiency. Deafness is a common sensory disorder. In China, approximately 70% of hereditary deafness originates from four common deafness-causing genes: GJB2, SLC26A4, GJB3, and MT-RNR1. A single-tube rapid detection method based on 2D-PCR technology was established for nine mutation sites in the aforementioned genes, and Sanger sequencing was used to verify its reliability and accuracy. The frequency of hotspot mutations in deafness genes was analysed in 116 deaf students. 2D-PCR identified 27 genotypes of nine loci according to the melting curve of the FAM, HEX, and Alexa568 fluorescence channels. Of the 116 deaf patients, 12.9% (15/116) carried SLC26A4 mutations, including c.919-2A > G and c.2168A > G (allele frequencies, 7.3% and 2.2%, respectively). The positivity rate (29.3%; 34/116) was highest for GJB2 (allele frequency, 15.9% for c.235delC, 6.0% for c.299_300delAT, and 2.6% for c.176-191del16). Sanger sequencing confirmed the consistency of results between the detection methods based on 2D-PCR and DNA sequencing. Common pathogenic mutations in patients with non-syndromic deafness in Changzhou were concentrated in GJB2 (c.235delC, c.299_300delAT, and c.176-191del16) and SLC26A4 (c.919-2A > G and c.2168 A > G). 2D-PCR is an effective method for accurately and rapidly identifying deafness-related genotypes using a single-tube reaction, and is superior to DNA sequencing, which has a high cost and long cycle. Background: Self-harm, a severe mental health concern among children and adolescents, has varying global prevalence rates. Previous studies have suggested potential associations between specific behavioral aspects of biological rhythm and self-harm risk in these populations. Objective: Our study aimed to elucidate the relationship between biological rhythm patterns and the propensity of self-harm among Chinese children and adolescents using the Baoxing Youth Mental Health (BYMH) cohort. Methods: We included 1883 Chinese children and adolescents from the BYMH cohort. The self-report questions used to assess biological rhythm and self-harm. We applied Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to distinguish patterns of biological rhythms. Logistic regression models were conducted to estimate the associations between biological rhythm, as well as biological rhythm patterns and risk of self-harm. Results: Of the participants, 35.0% reported experiencing lifetime self-harm. PCA revealed six significantly predominant biological rhythm patterns. Elevated risks of self-harm were linked with unhealthy eating practices, daytime tiredness, and unhealthy bedtime snacking. Conversely, patterns emphasizing physical exercise, family meals for breakfast, and nutritious diet exhibited decreased self-harm propensities. These trends persisted across varied self-harm attributes, including type, recency, and frequency of self-harm. Conclusions: This study underscores the critical impact of biological rhythms on self-harm risks among Chinese youth. Targeted lifestyle interventions, focusing on improved sleep and dietary habits, could serve as potent preventive measures. Our findings lay the groundwork for future longitudinal studies to further probe these associations, fostering the creation of tailored interventions to curb self-harm and enhance mental well-being in younger populations. The full design of a liquid neutron reflectometer for China spallation neutron source is reported. The horizontal sample geometry enables studies on both solid and liquid samples. A neutron beam with a wavelength range from 1 to 10 Å and neutron flux intensity of 4 × 107 n/cm2/s was optimized for the classical specular reflection. A multi-blade detector with high detection efficiency and a high neutron counting rate was used to ensure the performance of neutron detection. Data acquisition and reduction routines were demonstrated to confirm the reliability of the measurements. The brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens (Stål) (BPH) is a main rice pest in China and many other Asian countries. In the control of BPH, the application of insect-resistant rice has proven to be quite effective. Secondary metabolites are essential weapons in plants' defense against phytophagous insects. Studies have found that differences in the content of secondary metabolites play a crucial role in determining whether rice exhibits resistance or susceptibility to BPH. Simultaneously, symbionts are essential to the BPH. Nevertheless, there is limited research on the impact of secondary metabolites on the symbionts within BPH. Therefore, investigating the influence of secondary metabolites on both BPH and their symbionts is significant for the control of BPH. In this experiment, newly emerged female adults of BPH were fed artificial diets containing 10 different secondary metabolites. The results indicated that methyl jasmonate had inhibitory effects on the survival rate, weight gain, and reproductive capacity of BPH. Using qPCR methods, it was discovered that the number of symbiotic fungi (Ascomycetes symbionts) within BPH significantly decreased under methyl jasmonate stress. In conclusion, this experiment has preliminarily revealed the inhibitory effects of methyl jasmonate on BPH and its symbionts, demonstrating its potential for controlling BPH. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Loneliness has a significant impact on the physical and psychological well-being of patients with cancer. However, the specific factors contributing to loneliness among patients with cancer within the context of Chinese culture remain poorly understood. Objective: The objective of this study was to identify the factors associated with loneliness among patients with cancer in China. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted using convenience sampling, involving a sample of 205 patients with cancer from a tertiary hospital in Guangzhou, China. Participants completed several validated questionnaires, including the Cancer Loneliness Scale (CLS), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), Cancer-Related Negative Social Expectations Scale (C-rNSES), and Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS). Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis was employed to explore the relationships between loneliness and psychosocial factors. Results: The median score for loneliness among patients with cancer was 13, with an interquartile range of 8. The multiple linear stepwise regression analysis revealed that negative social expectations, social support, and depression were significantly associated with loneliness in this population. Collectively, these factors accounted for 50.1% (R 2 =.501) of the variance in loneliness. Conclusions: The findings of this study highlight the importance of addressing negative social expectations and depression and improving social support to prevent or reduce loneliness among patients with cancer. Objective: Striking innovations and advancements have been achieved with the use of artificial intelligence and healthcare information technology being integrated into clinical real‐world data. The current scoping review aimed to provide an overview of the current status of artificial intelligence‐/information technology‐based clinical decision support tools in China. Methods: PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, China National Knowledge Internet, and Wanfang data were searched for both English and Chinese literature. The gray literature search was conducted for commercially available tools. Original studies that focused on clinical decision support tools driven by artificial intelligence or information technology in China and were published between 2010 and February 2022 were included. Information extracted from each article was further synthesized by themes based on three types of clinical decision‐making. Results: A total of 37 peer‐reviewed publications and 13 commercially available tools were included in the final analysis. Among them, 32.0% were developed for disease diagnosis, 54.0% for risk prediction and classification, and 14.0% for disease management. Chronic diseases were the most popular therapeutic areas of exploration, with particular emphasis on cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Single‐center electronic medical records were the mainstream data sources leveraged to inform clinical decision‐making, with internal validation being predominately used for model evaluation. Conclusions: To effectively promote the extensive use of real‐world data and drive a paradigm shift in clinical decision‐making in China, multidisciplinary collaboration of key stakeholders is urgently needed. The background values of pollutants are becoming increasingly prominent in evaluating water quality and management, and their load and output characteristics are of great significance to the study of changes in the background values. Thus, this paper studies the estimation method for background pollutant fluxes into a river in a forested river source in northeastern China with deficient data or without data. Based on the results of a soak experiment and leaching experiment, as well as natural rainfall runoff experiments, the conversion relationship of the pollutant concentration in the medium was established, the transformation relationship of the pollutant concentration in the medium was established, its load into the river in a small watershed was estimated, and the estimation method was verified according to the measurements (average relative error: 20.5%). Then, the background pollutant loading into the river was calculated on a large scale by improving the pollutant output coefficient model and the universal soil loss equation (average relative error: 18.7%, 24.7%). The results show that the method mentioned above can better reflect the background pollutant loading into the river. This study provides an effective strategy to estimate the background pollutant loading into rivers in areas without data or with missing data, and also provides a theoretical basis for the study of zoning and the formulation of a water environment evaluation system based on background values. This qualitative investigation analyzes the relationship between Guanyin culture and religious statues in different periods through on-site investigation on Mount Putuo. Data were gathered from documentary review and field investigation. The results show that the art of Guanyin is the expression of Guanyin culture in material form. The absorption and transformation of Guanyin statue art and Guanyin culture are not relative, but mutual: the art influences the belief, and the belief influences the art. Before people started creating Guanyin statues, the belief in Guanyin culture already existed. However, modern Guanyin statue art is a tangible manifestation of Guanyin cultural belief that also promotes the prosperity and development of culture and economy in the Zhoushan area. The research concludes that the maintenance of Mount Putuo and the continued construction of iconography is vital to ensure the preservation of Guanyin belief in modern society. Background: The growing prevalence of smartphone use among college students in China has led to health concerns, including De Quervain's Tenosynovitis (DQT). However, the specific smartphone usage behaviors contributing to DQT remain poorly understood. This study aimed to explore the relationship between smartphone usage behaviors and DQT in college students. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 937 students from various majors in Guangxi between September 2021 and April 2022. Participants completed an online questionnaire assessing smartphone usage behaviors and their association with DQT. The Finkelstein test was employed to diagnose DQT. Results: Over half of the college students (52%) tested positive for DQT via Finkelstein's test. Higher levels of smartphone usage time (6–8 h/day: OR = 4.454, 95%CI:1.662–12.229; ≥8 h/day: OR = 4.521, 95%CI:1.596–12.811), phone games (OR = 1.997, 95%CI:1.312–3.040), social media (OR = 2.263, 95%CI:1.795–3.833), and leisure activities (OR = 1.679, 95%CI:1.140–2.475) were significantly associated with an increased risk of DQT. Two specific gestures (Bilateral thumbs, BT: OR = 1.900, 95%CI:1.281–2.817; Bilateral thumbs-horizontal screen, BT-HS: OR = 1.872, 95%CI:1.244–2.818) and two screen sizes (5.0-5.5inch: OR = 2.064, 95%CI:1.108–3.846; 6.0-6.5inch: OR = 2.413, 95%CI:1.125–4.083) also exhibited a higher risk of DQT. Bilateral DQT was observed, with Gesture-BT identified as the primary risk factor. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that increased smartphone usage time, phone games, social media, and leisure activities elevate the risk of DQT among college students. Furthermore, two specific gestures and two screen sizes were also linked to a heightened DQT risk. As China's economy enters the stage of high-quality development, the sustainability of development becomes increasingly important. Therefore, this study takes air quality index as the explanatory variable, the level of shadow banking as the explained variable, and environmental regulation as the intermediary variable to empirically study whether environmental regulation caused by air pollution will affect the shadow banking of non-financial enterprises. The findings suggest that air pollution is likely to strengthen environmental regulation, thereby reducing the level of shadow banking, as air pollution strengthens environmental regulation, leading to the reduction of implicit government guarantees, while enterprises tend to abandon or minimize reliance on these guarantees and reduce leverage. The mechanism test shows that the ESG performance of non-financial firms weakens the process by which air pollution reduces the degree of shadow banking of non-financial firms, while the short-sightedness of management enhances this process. Heterogeneity analysis shows that this process is more significant under the effect of market-driven environmental regulation and in private enterprises and enterprises in regions with large industrial scale. Purpose: Emerging markets face the developmental circumstances of a weak foundation in both manufacturing and services. Although servitization is viewed as an opportunity to realise industry transformation and upgrading, ways for emerging market firms to implement a high-level servitization strategy is still understudied. This study examines combinations of causal conditions for emerging market firms to implement a high level of servitization. Design/methodology/approach: Anchored in the strategy tripod model, this study examines the configurations for implementing a high-level servitization strategy by using fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) and data from the China Stock Market and Accounting Research Database (CSMAR). Findings: The findings identify three kinds of configurations for achieving a high-level servitization strategy: market-cultivational servitization, competition-driven servitization and government-related servitization. Furthermore, the mechanisms for implementing a high-level servitization strategy differ within the regional marketization level and state-owned equity. Specifically, the improvement of the regional marketization level helps manufacturing firms realise a high level of servitization by strengthening service capacity, and state-owned equity helps firms gain distinctive legitimacy to integrate suppliers and providers into the servitization context. Research limitations/implications: The proposed multilevel perspective frameworks enable manufacturing firms in emerging markets to achieve a high level of servitization strategy. Key Points: Question: Among patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), does the addition of a traditional Chinese medicine compound (Tongxinluo) as an adjunctive treatment to guideline-directed therapies improve clinical outcomes? Findings: In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial of 3777 patients with STEMI, oral administration of Tongxinluo for 12 months, compared with placebo, significantly reduced the primary end point of 30-day major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (rate of MACCEs, 3.4% vs 5.2%), with a significant reduction in cardiac death (3.0% vs 4.2%). These benefits persisted within 1 year (MACCEs: 5.3% vs 8.3%; cardiac death: 4.5% vs 6.1%), with no significant difference in major bleeding. Meaning: Among patients with STEMI, Tongxinluo improved both 30-day and 1-year clinical outcomes. Importance: Tongxinluo, a traditional Chinese medicine compound, has shown promise in in vitro, animal, and small human studies for myocardial infarction, but has not been rigorously evaluated in large randomized clinical trials. Objective: To investigate whether Tongxinluo could improve clinical outcomes in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Design, Setting, and Participants: Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial was conducted among patients with STEMI within 24 hours of symptom onset from 124 hospitals in China. Patients were enrolled from May 2019 to December 2020; the last date of follow-up was December 15, 2021. Interventions: Patients were randomized 1:1 to receive either Tongxinluo or placebo orally for 12 months (a loading dose of 2.08 g after randomization, followed by the maintenance dose of 1.04 g, 3 times a day), in addition to STEMI guideline-directed treatments. Main Outcomes and Measures: The primary end point was 30-day major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCEs), a composite of cardiac death, myocardial reinfarction, emergent coronary revascularization, and stroke. Follow-up for MACCEs occurred every 3 months to 1 year. Results: Among 3797 patients who were randomized, 3777 (Tongxinluo: 1889 and placebo: 1888; mean age, 61 years; 76.9% male) were included in the primary analysis. Thirty-day MACCEs occurred in 64 patients (3.4%) in the Tongxinluo group vs 99 patients (5.2%) in the control group (relative risk [RR], 0.64 [95% CI, 0.47 to 0.88]; risk difference [RD], −1.8% [95% CI, −3.2% to −0.6%]). Individual components of 30-day MACCEs, including cardiac death (56 [3.0%] vs 80 [4.2%]; RR, 0.70 [95% CI, 0.50 to 0.99]; RD, −1.2% [95% CI, −2.5% to −0.1%]), were also significantly lower in the Tongxinluo group than the placebo group. By 1 year, the Tongxinluo group continued to have lower rates of MACCEs (100 [5.3%] vs 157 [8.3%]; HR, 0.64 [95% CI, 0.49 to 0.82]; RD, −3.0% [95% CI, −4.6% to −1.4%]) and cardiac death (85 [4.5%] vs 116 [6.1%]; HR, 0.73 [95% CI, 0.55 to 0.97]; RD, −1.6% [95% CI, −3.1% to −0.2%]). There were no significant differences in other secondary end points including 30-day stroke; major bleeding at 30 days and 1 year; 1-year all-cause mortality; and in-stent thrombosis (<24 hours; 1-30 days; 1-12 months). More adverse drug reactions occurred in the Tongxinluo group than the placebo group (40 [2.1%] vs 21 [1.1%]; P =.02), mainly driven by gastrointestinal symptoms. Conclusions and Relevance: In patients with STEMI, the Chinese patent medicine Tongxinluo, as an adjunctive therapy in addition to STEMI guideline-directed treatments, significantly improved both 30-day and 1-year clinical outcomes. The current research examines how risk appraisals of PM2.5 influence Chinese people's behavioral intentions to adopt government-recommended protective behaviors through negative affect. In testing the appraisal-based protective behavior model, this research also takes institutional trust and media sensationalism into account. An online survey is conducted with participants (N = 1,569) randomly drawn from heavily polluted Chinese regions. As predicted, negative affect mediates the effects of perceived susceptibility and perceived severity on individuals' intentions to take preventive measures against the PM2.5 risk. Suspended particulate matter is a crucial component in estuaries and coastal oceans, and a key parameter for evaluating their water quality. The Bohai Sea, a huge marginal sea covering an expanse of 77,000 km² and constantly fed by numerous sediment-laden rivers, has maintained a high level of total suspended particulate matter (TSM). Despite the widespread development and application of TSM retrieval algorithms using commonly available satellite data like Landsat, Sentinel, and MODIS, developing TSM retrieval algorithms for China's Gaofen (GF) series (GF-6 and GF-1) in the Bohai Sea is still a great challenge, mainly due to the limited applicability of empirical algorithms. In this study, 259 in situ measured-TSM samples were collected for algorithm development. The remote sensing reflectance (Rrs) curve demonstrates prominent peaks between 550 and 580 nm. Through conversion to remote sensing reflectance, it was found that single-band data had a weak correlation with TSM, reaching a maximum correlation of 0.44. However, by combining bands of band ratio calculations, the correlation was enhanced. Particularly, the blue and green band equivalent Rrs ratio had a correlation coefficient of 0.81 with TSM, and the proposed TSM inversion exponential algorithm developed based on this factor obtained an R-squared (R²) value of 0.76 and a mean relative error (MRE) of 32.24%. Analysis results indicated that: (1) there are spatial variations in the TSM within the Bohai Sea, Laizhou Bay, and the Yellow River estuary, with higher levels near the coast and lower levels in open waters. The Yellow River estuary experiences seasonal fluctuations higher TSM during spring and winter, and lower variations during summer and autumn, and (2) the dynamics of TSM are affected by Yellow River runoff, with increased runoff leads to higher TSM levels and expanded turbid zones. Purpose: To investigate the incidence and risk factors for the retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University, China.Methods: This retrospective case–control study included 611 preterm infants with birth weight (BW)< 1500 grams admitted to the Department of Neonatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University between January 2019 and December 2022. The incidence and risk factors for any stage and severe ROP were analyzed.Results: Within 611 infants, 245(40.1%) developed ROP; 160(26.2%) infants were stage 1, 54(8.8%) were stage 2, and 31(5.1%) were stage 3, no stage 4 and 5. Among them, 22(3.6%) infants needed treatment. Multivariate analysis showed a higher gestational age (GA) was protective, whereas twin birth and moderate-to-severe BPD increased the hazard of any stage ROP; higher BW and male gender were significant risk factors for severe ROP.Conclusion: Compared to other tertiary hospitals, the incidence of any stage ROP in our NICU was higher, but the rate of ROP needed treatment was lower. A higher GA was protective, whereas twin birth and moderate-to-severe BPD increased the hazard of any stage ROP; higher BW was protective, whereas male gender were risk factors for the development of severe ROP. Green residences have enormous potential for energy savings, emission reduction, and other comprehensive benefits, and their growth is crucial to achieving China's carbon neutrality and carbon peaking targets. Nevertheless, at the moment, the national green residence is impacted by complicated factors at several levels, including government agencies, green residence builders, and green residence consumers, which results in the low-quality development of domestic green residences overall. As of 2020, 94% of all labeled green residences are design-label residences that can only be achieved during the design stage, while less than 10% are operational-label residences with stronger energy and emission-saving benefits. This causes the phenomenon of "green residences on the planning" to be serious. In order to accomplish the promotion of high-quality development of green residences and to promote green residences in China, this paper analyzes the influencing factors of green residence promotion from the multi-level perspective of macro-landscape signals, meso-collective agent green residences, and micro-individual agent consumers, based on the multi-level perspective (MLP) framework of sustainability theory. The paper subsequently builds a simulation model of green residence promotion using the agent-based system dynamics modeling method. Additionally, Jiangsu Province's green residence promotion data are chosen for analogue simulation experiments, and the simulation results are also used to analyze the success conditions as well as the path to green residence promotion. This study demonstrates that (1) the agent-based simulation model of dynamics for the green residence promotion system has high reference value for the simulation of the promotion of green residences, and the model can clearly simulate the impact of micro-individual agent–consumer factors on the promotion of green residences; (2) in order to promote green residences, exterior landscape signals must be continuously improved; the stronger the landscape signals, the quicker the development of operationally labeled green residences; (3) priority is given to the development of two-star design-labeled green residences before 2035, and three-star operationally labeled residences will occupy the majority of the market after 2040. Fusarium head blight (FHB) is a global cereal disease caused by a complex of Fusarium species. Both Fusarium graminearum and F. asiaticum are the causal agents of FHB in China. F. asiaticum is the predominant species in the Middle–Lower Reaches of the Yangtze River (MLRYR) and southwest China. Therefore, detecting F. asiaticum in a timely manner is crucial for controlling the disease and preventing mycotoxins from entering the food chain. Here, we combined rapid genomic DNA extraction, recombinase polymerase amplification, Cas12a cleavage, and lateral flow detection techniques to develop a method for the rapid detection of F. asiaticum. The reaction conditions were optimized to provide a rapid, sensitive, and cost-effective method for F. asiaticum detection. The optimized method demonstrated exceptional specificity in detecting F. asiaticum while not detecting any of the 14 other Fusarium strains and 3 non-Fusarium species. Additionally, it could detect F. asiaticum DNA at concentrations as low as 20 ag/μL, allowing for the diagnosis of F. asiaticum infection in maize and wheat kernels even after 3 days of inoculation. The dramatic increase of the aging population is a current and primary livelihood issue in China. It is very important to accurately predict the aging population for policy-makers such as governments and insurance companies. To explore the future development trend of China's aging population, a novel grey prediction FPTGM(1,1,α) model is established in this paper. The data from 2003 to 2012 are used to build the model, and the data from 2013 to 2018 are used to assess the modeling accuracy. The results show that the fitting and forecasting accuracy of the proposed FPTGM(1,1,α) model are higher than those of other models. This indicates that the novel grey model is more suitable for predicting the aging population in China. Combined with the idea of metabolism, the FPTGM(1,1,α) model is applied to predict China's aging population from 2019 to 2042. Rapid urbanization and an increasing carbon footprint have underscored the need for sustainable practices in the construction industry. With the aim of prioritizing global sustainable development, the measurement of carbon emission efficiency in the construction industry (CEECI) has emerged as a critical indicator. Nevertheless, a comprehensive exploration of carbon emission efficiency within the Chinese construction sector remains limited, despite the pressing demand to mitigate carbon emissions. To address this research gap, this study aims to provide valuable policy recommendations for effectively reducing carbon emissions. We conducted a thorough assessment of both the total carbon emissions and the carbon emission intensity in 30 provinces and cities across China from 2010 to 2020. Utilizing the slacks-based measure (SBM) model with non-desired outputs, we evaluated the static CEECI, including the spatial correlation analysis and the evaluation of the carbon reduction potential in the construction industry (CRPCI). Additionally, the dynamic CEECI was quantified using the Malmquist–Luenberger (ML) index model, followed by an index decomposition analysis. The findings reveal several noteworthy insights: (1) There exists a positive correlation between carbon emissions in the construction industry and the economic scale. Generally, less developed areas (e.g., central and western regions of China) exhibit higher levels of carbon emission intensity (CEICI), while more developed areas (e.g., eastern regions of China) demonstrate lower levels of CEICI. (2) The CEECI across various provinces and cities demonstrates a clear spatial positive autocorrelation, while the CRPCI exhibits a negative correlation with the CEECI, with larger CRPCI values observed predominantly in western China. (3) Technological progress (MLTC) emerges as a crucial factor influencing the CEECI in our dynamic analysis. Climate change can exacerbate the occurrence of extreme precipitation events, thereby affecting both the frequency and intensity of rainfall-induced landslides. It is important to study the threat of rainfall-induced landslides under future climate conditions for the formulation of disaster prevention and mitigation policies. Due to the complexity of the climate system, there is great uncertainty in the climate variables simulated by a global climate model (GCM), which will be further propagated in landslide prediction. In this study, we investigate the spatial and temporal trends of future landslide hazards in China under climate change, using data from a multi-model ensemble of GCMs based on two scenarios, RCP4.5 and RCP8.5. The uncertainty characteristics are then estimated based on signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) and the ratio of agreement in sign (RAS). The results show that the uncertainty of landslide prediction is mainly dominated by the GCM ensemble and the RCP scenario settings. Spatially, the uncertainty of landslide prediction is high in the western areas of China and low in the eastern areas of China. Temporally, the uncertainty of landslide prediction is evolving, with characteristics of high uncertainty in the near future and characteristics of low uncertainty in the distant future. The annual average SNRs in the 21st century are 0.44 and 0.50 in RCP4.5 and RCP8.5, respectively, and the RAS of landslide prediction in Southeastern China is only 50–60%. This indicates that more than half of the patterns show trends that are opposite to those of the ensemble, suggesting that their landslide change trends are not universally recognized in the pattern ensemble. Considering the uncertainty of climate change in landslide prediction can enable studies to provide a more comprehensive picture of the possible range of future landslide changes, effectively improving the reliability of landslide hazard prediction and disaster prevention.
