In the field of geotechnical engineering, creating and successfully cutting a three-dimensional geological model is a crucial task for digital and visual analysis. However, using commonly available software for 3D model cutting can be time-consuming. Moreover, mainstream cutting algorithms have limitations that can impact real-time performance, such as high computing requirements and complex testing. To address these issues, with the help of the Three.js library, based on the stencil test function module and the cutting operation, this paper presents a real-time rendering closure method for the continuous cutting of a TIN model. This method is implemented by object-oriented programming. When using this method to cut a model, there is no need to intersect and triangulate each point of the section, thereby improving real-time performance. Furthermore, this method enables the real-time rendering of a closed section in the hollow model, resolving issues related to displaying hollow sections in a multilevel TIN geological model, which can serve as another exploratory approach for closed cutting of internal hollow models. The method was applied to a project in southern China and yielded positive results. The time consumption of this cutting process was less than 1 s, and compared to the 3dsMax method under the same conditions, it reduced the time consumption by 6.85 s and improved efficiency by 87%. It can effectively support visual analysis tasks for similar processes, such as smart mines, oil and gas resource distribution, and internal visualization analysis of mechanical parts. Auricularia delicata (Mont.) Henn. 1893 is an edible and medicinal jelly mushroom popular in China. Here, we report the assembly and annotation of a complete A. delicata mitochondrial genome based on data sequenced using an Illumina NovaSeq 6000 platform. The length of the complete circular A. delicata mitochondrial genome is 189,696 bp, with a GC content of 34.1%. The A. delicata mitochondrial genome contains 60 genes, including 32 protein-coding genes, 26 tRNA genes, and two rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that A. delicata clustered with the Auricularia group, alongside A. auricula-judae and A. heimuer. Additionally, A. delicata was found to be genetically distant from other species of Polyporales, Russulales, and Agaricales. The long-term height-resolved wind trend in China under global warming still needs to be discovered. To fill this gap, in this paper we examined the climatology and long-term (1979–2021) trends of the wintertime wind speed at the near-surface and upper atmosphere in China based on long-term radiosonde measurements. At 700, 500, and 400 hPa, much higher wind speed was found over eastern China, compared with western China. At 300, 200, and 100 hPa, maximum wind speed was observed in the latitude zone of around 25–35°N. Furthermore, westerly winds dominated most parts of China between 20°N and 50°N at altitudes from 700 hPa to 100 hPa. A stilling was revealed for the near-surface wind from 1979–2003. From 2004 onward, the near-surface wind speed reversed from decreasing to increasing. This could be largely due to the joint impact of reduced surface roughness length, aerosol optical depth (AOD), and increased sensible heat flux in the ground surface. The decrease of AOD tended to reduce aerosol radiative forcing, thereby destabilizing the planetary boundary layer (PBL). By comparison, the wintertime wind in the upper atmosphere exhibited a significant monotonic upward trend, albeit with varying magnitude for different altitudes. In the upper troposphere, the wintertime maximum wind was observed along a westerly jet stream, with a pronounced upward trend within the zone approximately bounded by latitudes of 25–50°N, particularly above 500 hPa. This accelerating wind observed in the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere could be closely associated with the large planetary-scale meridional temperature trend gradient. Besides, the direction for the wind at the near-surface and lower troposphere (925 and 850 hPa) exhibited a larger variance over the period 1979–2021, which could be associated with the strong turbulence of PBL caused by the heterogeneous land surface. For those pressure levels higher than 850 hPa, large wind directional variance was merely found to the south of 25 °N. The findings from long-term radiosonde measurements in winter over China shed light on the changes in wind speed on the ground and upper atmosphere under global warming from an observational perspective. Macrophages play an essential role in the pathogenesis of most inflammatory diseases. Recent studies have shown that mechanical load can influence macrophage function, leading to excessive and uncontrolled inflammation and even systemic damage, including cardiovascular disease and knee osteoarthritis. However, the molecular mechanism remains unclear. In this study, murine RAW264.7 cells were treated with mechanical stretch (MS) using the Flexcell-5000T Tension System. The expression of inflammatory factors and cytokine release were measured by RT-qPCR, ELISA, and Western blotting. The protein expression of NF-κB p65, Iκb-α, p-Iκb-α, RhoA, ROCK1, and ROCK2 was also detected by Western blotting. Then, Flow cytometry was used to detect the proportion of macrophage subsets. Meanwhile, Y-27632 dihydrochloride, a ROCK inhibitor, was added to knockdown ROCK signal transduction in cells. Our results demonstrated that MS upregulated mRNA expression and increased the secretion levels of proinflammatory factors iNOS, IL-1β, TNF-α, and IL-6. Additionally, MS significantly increased the proportion of CD11b+CD86+ and CD11b+CD206+ subsets in RAW264.7 macrophages. Furthermore, the protein expression of RhoA, ROCK1, ROCK2, NF-κB p65, and IκB-α increased in MS-treated RAW264.7 cells, as well as the IL-6 and iNOS. In contrast, ROCK inhibitor significantly blocked the activation of RhoA-ROCK and NF-κB pathway, decreased the protein expression of IL-6 and iNOS, reduced the proportion of CD11b+CD86+ cells subpopulation, and increased the proportion of CD11b+CD206+ cell subpopulation after MS. These data indicate that mechanical stretch can regulate the RAW264.7 macrophage polarization and enhance inflammatory responses in vitro, which may contribute to activation the RhoA-ROCK/NF-κB pathway. Background: This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of anlotinib combined with programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) blockade for the treatment of small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Patients and methods: SCLC (n = 28) and NSCLC (n = 177) patients who received treatment at Hunan Cancer Hospital between June 1, 2019, and July 1, 2020, were retrospectively analyzed. Progression-free survival (PFS) and treatment responses were compared among patients who received combination therapy of anlotinib plus PD-1 inhibitor, or monotherapy of either chemotherapy or PD-1 inhibitor. Independent prognostic factors were identified by Cox regression analysis. Results: Patients with relapsed SCLC who received anlotinib plus PD-1 inhibitor as a ≥ second-line therapy (n = 14) had a significantly longer PFS than those who received PD-1 inhibitor alone (n = 14, 5.0 vs. 3.0 months; P = 0.005). For patients with previously untreated wild-type NSCLC, the combination therapy in the first-line setting (n = 6) provided a marginally longer PFS than mono-chemotherapy (n = 6, 8.0 vs. 3.0 months; P = 0.075). For patients with relapsed NSCLC, the combination therapy in the ≥ second-line setting (n = 62) resulted in significantly higher objective response rate (19.3 vs. 5.0 vs. 2.4%; P = 0.013) and longer PFS (8.0 vs. 2.0 vs. 2.0 months; P <0.001) as compared to monotherapy of either chemotherapy (n = 41) or PD-1 inhibitor (n = 62). Anlotinib and PD-1 blockade combination therapy was an independent predictive factor of longer PFS (P <0.001). Conclusion: The combination of anlotinib and PD-1 inhibitor has promising efficacy and manageable toxicity as a second- or later-line treatment of relapsed NSCLC and possibly for relapsed SCLC. This study examined the prevalence of burnout and its association with quality of life (QOL) among psychiatric nurses in China.Ten psychiatric hospitals were included. Burnout and QOL were measured using standardized instruments. Altogether, 1449 nurses completed the assessment. The mean scores of emotional exhaustion (EE), depersonalization (DP) and personal accomplishment (PA) were 11.87 (SD = 6.72), 6.98 (SD = 5.71) and 22.06 (SD = 8.67), respectively. Of the participants, 59.8% (95% CI: 57–62%) experienced burnout; with 23.3% (95% CI: 21–25%) in EE, 14.6% (95% CI: 13–16%) in DP and 45.1% (95% CI: 43–48%) in PA. Psychiatric nurses who reported burnout had lower QOL in social (F (1, 1448) = 86.20, P < 0.001), physical (F (1, 1448) = 170.46, P < 0.001), psychological (F (1, 1448) = 205.63, P < 0.001), and environmental (F (1, 1448) = 120.24, P < 0.001) domains. Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that alcohol users (P = 0.04; OR = 1.29, 95%CI: 1.01–1.64 in model 1 and P = 0.03; OR = 1.32, 95%CI: 1.04–1.69 in model 2) were significantly more susceptible to burnout, while senior nurses (P = 0.007; OR = 0.70, 95%CI: 0.53–0.91) and nurses with longer work experience (P = 0.02; OR = 0.70, 95%CI: 0.53–0.91) were less likely to develop burnout. Burnout is common in psychiatric nurses in China. In light of its negative impact on health and QOL, there is an urgent need for regular screening as well as effective preventive measures and interventions to reduce burnout within this at-risk occupational group. Oat (Avena sativa) is a quality feed crop for livestock with an expanding growth area of cultivation in China. Leaves of oat plants with necrotic spots were widely observed in the summer of 2019 in Tongwei county, China, with a rate of diseased leaves of 94.32% and a disease index of 69.96. Pathogenicity was tested by inoculating of oat plants with a conidia suspension of the isolate YMZZ2. Colony characteristics and conidial morphology of the isolates were determined on potato dextrose agar (PDA) and molecular identification of the isolate was conducted using phylogenetic analysis of the ITS, ACT, and HIS3 genes. The results showed that the morphological characteristics of the conidia were consistent with those described for species in the genus Cladosporium. Leaf spot symptoms appeared on all inoculated leaves within 5 days post-inoculation. At 10 days post-inoculation, all symptomatic leaves developed necrotic spots, each consisting of a brown or light brown border with a yellow halo. All control plants were asymptomatic. The morphological characteristics of the colony reisolated from the pathogenicity test lesions were morphologically similar to those of the isolate from the naturally infected leaves. Phylogenetic analysis of the gene sequences grouped them into a clade belonging to Cladosporium herbarum. In the application of the physical iterative method to retrieve millimeter-wave radar liquid water content (LWC) and liquid water path (LWP), particle parameter scheme is the main factor affecting retrieval performance. In this paper, synchronous measurements of an airborne millimeter-wave radar and a hot-wire probe in stratus cloud are used to compare the LWC retrievals of the oceanic and continental particle parameter scheme with diameter less than 50µm and the particle parameter scheme with diameter less than 500µm and 1500µm (scheme 1, scheme 2, scheme 3, and scheme 4, respectively). The results show that the particle parameter scheme needs to be selected according to the reflectivity factor when using the physical iterative method to retrieve the LWC and LWP. When the reflectivity factor is less than - 30dBZ, the retrieval error of scheme 1 is the minimum. When the reflectivity factor is greater than -30dBZ, the retrieval error of scheme 4 is the minimum. Based on the reflectance factor value, the LWP retrievals of scheme 4 are closer to the measurements, the average relative bias is 5.2%, and the minimum relative bias is 4.4%. A pot experiment was conducted to study chemical speciations and bioavailability of cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) in the gray calcium soil from northwestern China, and accumulation and translocation of Cd and Pb in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) grown on the soil was also studied. The results showed that significant changes of Cd and Pb fractions in the soil and Cd and Pb concentrations in the wheat were observed with increasing soil Cd and Pb concentrations, and both Cd and Pb in exchangebale fraction in the soil made the greatest contribution to the accumulation of Cd and Pb in the wheat. Higher bio-concentration factors (BCFs) and translocation factors (TFs) for Cd and lower BCFs and TFs for Pb were observed in the wheat, respectively, and Cd had much higher accumulation than Pb in the edible parts of the wheat. Objective: Depressive symptoms (depression thereafter) are common among menopausal women but findings across studies have been inconsistent. This meta-analysis examined the pooled prevalence of depression among Chinese menopausal women.Methods: Two investigators independently searched both international (PubMed, EMBASE and PsycINFO) and Chinese (CNKI, WanFang, SinoMed and VIP) databases from their inception date until 9 April 2019. Studies that reported the prevalence of depression as measured by the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) were pooled using a random-effects model.Results: Twenty-three cross-sectional studies were included in the meta-analysis. The pooled prevalence of depression in menopausal Chinese women was 36.3% (95% CI: 27.5-45.1%), with mild depression of 18.6% (95% CI: 13.4-23.8%), moderate depression of 15.3% (95% CI: 9.4-21.3%), and severe depression of 3.7% (95% CI: 1.9-5.5%). Meta-regression analyses revealed that older age (B = 0.12, z = 8.18, p < 0.001) and better study quality (B = 0. 24, z = 8.33, p < 0.001) was significantly associated with higher depression prevalence.Conclusions: Depression is common among menopausal Chinese women. By comparing the class ratio deviation and restoring error of first‐order accumulation with that of fractional‐order accumulation, a gray model for monotonically increasing sequences can obtain optimal simulation accuracy via selecting a proper cumulative order. In this study, a gray model for increasing sequences with nonhomogeneous index trends based on fractional‐order accumulation is proposed. To reduce the modeling error caused by the background value and to improve the prediction accuracy of the model, an optimized model using the 3/8 Simpson formula is constructed. Finally, the 2 proposed models are used to predict the total energy consumption in China and the monthly sales of new products in an enterprise. • A novel discrete GM(2,1) model with a polynomial term is proposed. • The generalization and adaptability of the proposed model were validated from the theoretical and practical perspectives. • The newly-designed model is applied to predict per capita living electricity consumption. The forecast of electrical energy demand has played an increasingly relevant role in sustainable electrical power system. This paper develops a new method for forecasting China's per capita living electricity consumption by grey modelling technique. Considering the multiple and mixed change patterns, a novel discrete grey model with polynomial term (abbreviated as DGM(2,1, kn)) is proposed in this study. Firstly, the polynomial term is introduced into the discrete DGM(2,1) model. Secondly, the Tikhonov regularization method is employed to solve the overfitting problem. Lastly, two published cases and China's per capita living electricity consumption are used to validate the generalization and adaptability of the newly-designed model. The numerical results of such experiments show that the proposed model outperforms other competitive models in terms of accuracy level. Therefore, the projections of China's per capita living electricity consumption in 2020 and 2025 have been made for providing a solid reference for the formulation of electrical power strategies. Objectives: We investigated the expression and clinical value of MTA1 and RECK genes in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Methods: We examined MTA1 and RECK expression in nasopharyngeal tissue from patients with chronic nasopharyngitis, lymph nodes with metastasis of NPC, and primary NPC tumor tissue by means of in situ hybridization and analyzed their correlation with the clinicopathologic features of NPC. Results: The positive expression of MTA1 in the NPC tissues and metastatic lymph nodes was significantly higher than that in the chronic nasopharyngitis tissues (p < 0.05). The positive expression of RECK in the NPC tissues and metastatic lymph nodes was significantly lower than that in the chronic nasopharyngitis tissues (p < 0.05). The RECK expression level was inversely correlated with the MTA1 expression level in the NPC tissues (p < 0.05). The increased MTA1 and decreased RECK expressions in the NPC tissues had no association with gender, age, T-stage, or clinical stage (p > 0.05). However, they had a positive correlation with cervical lymph node metastasis, tumor recurrence, and 5-year overall survival rate of the patients with NPC (p < 0.05). Moreover, multivariate analysis showed that MTA1 and RECK expressions were independent prognostic factors for survival (p < 0.05). Conclusions: The conversely abnormal expression levels of MTA1 and RECK may be collectively involved in progression of malignancies and may serve as molecular predictors for metastasis, recurrence, and prognosis of NPC. The folk characters should be attached great importance to in that they will affect the semantic comprehension in ancient books. When interpreting folk characters, we should first analyze them concretely according to our knowledge of folk characters, instead of using the interpretation from dictionaries mechanically. Second, we should also pay attention to the situations that one folk character usually stands for several standard characters, rather than simply altering the ancient books according to the modern Chinese liberal normalization. Background: Few studies have estimated the prevalence and correlates of bipolar disorder (BP) in agricultural areas of China. This study examined the one-month and lifetime prevalence of BP, its subtypes and socio-demographic factors in the adult population of Hebei province, a predominantly agricultural area of China.Methods: A multistage, stratified, cluster random sampling method was used to estimate the prevalence and correlates of BP in adults in Hebei province, China. The expanded version of the 12-item General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12) and the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Axis I Disorders-Patient Edition (SCID-I/P/C) were administered to establish the diagnosis of BP.Results: A total of 20,884 participants were screened. The weighted lifetime prevalence of BP, BP type I (BP-I), type II (BP-II), and BP not otherwise specified (BP-NOS) were 0.20% (95% CI: 0.14-0.26%), 0.13% (95% CI: 0.08-0.18%), 0.03% (95% CI: 0.009-0.06%) and 0.03% (95% CI: 0.009-0.06%), respectively. The weighted one-month prevalence estimates were 0.12% (95% CI: 0.08-0.17%) for BP, 0.07% (95% CI: 0.04-0.11%) for BP-I, 0.03% (95% CI: 0.006-0.05%) for BP-II, and 0.02% (95% CI: 0.003-0.04%) for BP-NOS. Multiple Poisson regression analysis revealed that positive family history of any psychiatric disorder (P<0.001, OR=6.48, 95% CI: 2.53-16.56) was significantly associated with greater risk of BP.Conclusion: The prevalence of BP in Hebei province appears lower than in most areas of China and other countries. Ipomoea aquatica with low-energy N+ ion implantation was used for the removal of both nitrogen and phosphorus from the eutrophic Chaohu Lake, China. The biomass growth, nitrate reductase and peroxidase activities of the implanted I. aquatica were found to be higher than those of I. aquatica without ion implantation. Higher NO3–N and PO4–P removal efficiencies were obtained for the I. aquatica irradiation at 25keV, 3.9×1016 N+ ions/cm2 and 20keV 5.2×1016 N+ ions/cm2, respectively (p <0.05). Moreover, the nitrogen and phosphorus contents in the plant biomass with ion implantation were also greater than those of the controls. I. aquatica with ion implantation was directly responsible for 51–68% N removal and 54–71% P removal in the three experiments. The results further confirm that the ion implantation could enhance the growth potential of I. aquatica in real eutrophic water and increase its nutrient removal efficiency. Thus, the low-energy ion implantation for aquatic plants could be considered as an approach for in situ phytoremediation and bioremediation of eutrophic waters. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: Aim of the study: H.pengxianensi is a native plant in China. Dihydrocucurbitacin F-25-O-acetate is one of the major chemical components in H.pengxianensis. In this investigation, we attempted to quantify the content of dihydrocucurbitacin F-25-O-acetate in H.pengxianensis and find the possible antibacterial mode of dihydrocucurbitacin F-25-O-acetate and H.pengxianensis. Material and methods: First, the content of dihydrocucurbitacin F-25-O-acetate was quantified by HPLC. Then, metabolic profiles of Staphylococcus aureus treated by dihydrocucurbitacin F-25-O-acetate, extract of H.pengxianensis and nine antibacterial substances with the known modes of action were acquired by HPLC/DAD/ESI-MS. Principal component analysis was carried out upon all metabolic profiles to classify those drugs according to their mechanisms. Results and conclusion: The HPLC result show the content of dihydrocucurbitacin F-25-O-acetate in H.pengxianensis (5.3±0.4mg/g). From the result obtained by principal component analysis, dihydrocucurbitacin F-25-O-acetate was found to be the component playing the main antimicrobial roles on Staphylococcus aureus in H.pengxianensis and the possible antibacterial mode of dihydrocucurbitacin F-25-O-acetate and H.pengxianensis may be to inhibit cell wall synthesis. Patients envenomed by snakes from the Viperidae and Elapidae families in China often have varying degrees of local tissue necrosis. Due to the relative clinical characteristics of local tissue necrosis and ulceration following envenoming, this study has analyzed the proteome of six snake venoms from the Viperidae and Elapidae family, and the toxin profiles of each snake were compared and correlated with the clinical manifestations that follow cytotoxic envenoming. Deinagkistrodon acutus and Naja atra envenomation induce severe ulceration, which is absent in Bungarus multicinctus envenomation and mild in the other three vipers. It is interesting to note that the proportion of c-type lectins (CTL) (20.63%) in Deinagkistrodon acutus venom was relatively high, which differs from the venom of other vipers. In addition, three-fingered toxin (3FTx) (2.15%) is present in the venom of Deinagkistrodon acutus , but has not been detected in the remaining three vipers. Snake venom metalloprotease (SVMP) (34.4%–44.7%), phospholipase A 2 (PLA 2) (9.81%–40.83%), and snake venom serine protease (SVSP) (9.44%–16.2%) represent the most abundant families of toxin in Viperidae venom. The Elapidae venom proteome was mainly composed of neurotoxins and cytotoxins, including 3FTx (39.28%–60.08%) and PLA 2 (8.24%–58.95%) toxins, however, the proportion of CRISPS (26.36%) in Naja atra venom was relatively higher compared to Bungarus multicinctus venom. Significant differences in SVMP, SVSP, and 3FTx expression levels exist between the Viperidae and the Elapidae family. The main toxins responsible for the development of tissue necrosis and ulcerations following Viperidae envenoming are hematotoxins (SVSMP, SVSP) and myotoxins (PLA 2). Deinagkistrodon acutus venom contains high levels of CTL and traces of 3FTx, leading to more severe local necrosis. However, Naja atra venom can also cause severe local necrosis through the effects of myotoxin (3FTx, CRISP, PLA 2). Bungarus multicinctus venom does not contain myotoxins, resulting in pure systemic neurological manifestations no obvious necrosis of local tissue in patients. Child unintentional injuries are one of the most prominent global health threats and parents may play a vital role in these injuries. This study thus aims to explore the associations of parents teaching safety rules with preschool children's safety behaviors and unintentional injuries. A total of 62,922 children registered at 182 kindergartens in Longhua District of Shenzhen, China during the fall semester of 2016, were included in this cross-sectional study. Their parents were invited to complete a self-administered questionnaire covering information about socio-demographics, parents teaching safety rules to children, child safety behaviors and unintentional injuries. Logistic and linear regression models were carried out to test the associations among parents teaching safety rules, child safety behaviors, and child unintentional injuries. Whether child safety behaviors mediated the relationship between parents teaching safety rules and child unintentional injuries was assessed using Hayes' PROCESS macros for SPSS. Regression analyses revealed that the higher scores of both mothers' and fathers' teaching safety rules to children were significantly associated with the reduced risks of child unintentional injuries and the modest improvements in child safety behaviors, after adjusting for potential confounders. Furthermore, mediation analysis illustrated that child safety behaviors mediated 18.1% of the association between mothers teaching safety rules and child unintentional injuries and 30.3% of the association between fathers teaching safety rules and child unintentional injuries, respectively. These findings suggest that parents teaching safety rules to children is beneficial for mitigating unintentional injury risks among Chinese preschool children through improving child safety behaviors. Summary: Background: There has been a long-standing suspicion that an association exists between mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE) and the herpes virus. Evidence for HHV-6B involvement has been reported. However, no investigation has been performed in China. Methods: We used nested PCR and immunohistochemistry to detect viral DNA of human herpes virus (HHV)-6B, HHV-6A, herpes simplex virus (HSV)-1 and HSV-2 in resected brain tissues from patients with MTLE and control. A principal transcription factor, NF-κB, that is associated with the inflammatory response was also investigated by real-time PCR, western blotting and immunohistochemistry. Results: HHV-6B DNA was detected in hippocampal samples from 9 out of 32 (28.1%) patients with MTLE and in 1 of 12 (8.3%) control samples. Immunoreactivity for HHV-6B was consistently present in MTLE patients positive for HHV-6 detected by PCR. Significant staining for HHV-6B antigen was distributed mainly around or in the nucleus of cells that morphologically resembled astrocytes and microglia. HHV-6B positivity was related to febrile convulsion history of patients with MTLE. The expression of NF-κB was up-regulated and distributed in the nucleus of glial cells in MTLE patients positive for HHV-6B. Conclusion: This study was first to find HHV-6B in MTLE patients from West China and demonstrate a possible association between HHV-6B positivity and activation of NF-κB. Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harboring ROS1 rearrangements is a molecular subset that exhibits favorable responses to tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment than chemotherapy. This study investigated real-world treatment patterns and survival outcomes among patients with ROS1-rearranged advanced NSCLC., Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients with ROS1-rearranged advanced NSCLC treated in four different hospitals in China from August 2018 to March 2022. The study analyzed gene fusion distribution, resistance patterns, and survival outcomes., Results: ROS1 rearrangement occurs in 1.8 % (550/31,225) of our study cohort. CD74 was the most common ROS1 fusion partner, accounting for 45.8 %. Crizotinib was used in 73.9 % of patients in the first-line treatment, and an increased use of chemotherapy, ceritinib, and lorlatinib was seen in the second-line setting. Lung (43.2 %) and brain (27.6 %) were the most common sites of progression in first-line setting, while brain progression (39.2 %) was the most common site of progression in second-line. Median overall survival was 46 months (95 % confidence intervals: 39.6-52.4). First-line crizotinib use yielded significantly superior survival outcomes over chemotherapy in terms of progression-free (18.5 vs. 6.0; p < 0.001) and overall survival (49.8 vs. 37; p = 0.024). The choice of treatment in the latter line also had survival implications, wherein survival outcomes were better when first-line crizotinib was followed by sequential TKI therapy than first-line chemotherapy followed by TKI therapy., Conclusions: Our study provided insights into the real-world treatment, drug resistance patterns, and survival outcomes among patients with ROS1-rearranged NSCLC. Background: Pembrolizumab has been indicated in the treatment of solid tumors with high frequency microsatellite instability (MSI-H) or high tumor mutational burden (TMB-H); however, real-world data on the effectiveness of pembrolizumab with or without chemotherapy in this molecular subset remain limited. Our retrospective study evaluated the clinical efficacy and safety of pembrolizumab in treating advanced solid tumors with either MSI-H or TMB-H., Methods: This retrospective study analyzed data from 116 patients with MSI-H or TMB-H advanced solid cancers who received pembrolizumab with or without chemotherapy regardless of treatment setting. We analyzed objective response rate (ORR) and progression-free survival (PFS)., Results: The top three cancer types were colorectal (48.6% MSI-H, 6.5% TMB-H), lung (15.4% MSI-H, 84.4% TMB-H), and gastric (15.4% MSI-H, 5.1% TMB-H). The ORR with pembrolizumab was 52.6%, including complete response (CR) observed in 8.6% (n = 10) of cases and partial responses (PR) in 43.9% (n = 51). Of the 93 patients who received first-line pembrolizumab, 52 patients achieved objective response (10 CR, 42 PR), with a median PFS of 14.0 months (95% confidence intervals [CI] 6.6-21.4). Of the 23 who received subsequent-line pembrolizumab, the ORR was 39.1%, disease control rate was 91.3%, and median PFS was 5.7 months (95% CI 3.9-7.5). Objective: This study aimed to examine the prevalence of sexual harassment (SH) toward Chinese psychiatric nurses and its association with quality of life (QOL)., Methods: A total of 2124 psychiatric nurses were consecutively recruited from 10 psychiatric hospitals distributed across 10 provinces of China; of them, 1,449 were included for analyses. Participants' socio-demographic characteristics, experiences of workplace SH in the past year, and QOL were recorded., Results: Overall, 21.5% (n = 311) of participants reported SH, with 8.4% (n = 121) reporting once, 7.1% (n = 103) reporting twice and 6.0% (n = 87) reporting three times or more. Psychiatric nurses who experienced SH had lower QOL in physical, psychological, social, and environmental domains. Multiple logistic regression analysis found that nurses with shorter clinical experience were more likely to experience SH., Conclusions: Workplace SH toward psychiatric nurses is common in mental health treatment settings in China. Objective: Burnout is common in mental health nurses because of work-related stress. Burnout has a negative impact on nurses' health and work performance. The prevalence of high burnout in mental health nurses has been inconclusive across studies. This meta-analysis aimed to estimate the pooled prevalence of high burnout in mental health nurses in China., Methods: Electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, PsycINFO, Web of Science, CNKI, WanFang and SinoMed) were independently and systematically searched from their commencement date up to 14 May 2018. Studies that reported the prevalence of any of the 3 burnout dimensions (high Emotional Exhaustion (EE), Depersonalization (DP), and low Personal Accomplishment (PA)) as measured by the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) were included and analyzed using the random-effects model., Results: A total of 19 studies were included in this meta-analysis. The pooled prevalence of high EE was 28.1% (95% CI: 20.4-35.8%), DP was 25.4% (18.1-32.6%) and low PA was 39.7% (28.3-51.1%). Subgroup analyses found that short working experience, use of MBI-Human Services Survey (HSS), and younger age had moderating effects on prevalence of high burnout., Conclusions: Burnout is common in mental health nurses in China. Screen media usage has become increasingly prevalent in daily life with children being exposed to screens at an early age. This is a growing public health concern with evidence linking screen exposure to detrimental health outcomes, whereas relationship between screen exposure and the presence of astigmatism among preschoolers remains unknown, thus we aimed to resolve this issue. During the 2017 survey of the Longhua Child Cohort Study, data of 29,595 preschoolers were collected via a caregiver-reported questionnaire regarding socio-demographics, screen exposure and refraction. Cox regression models were adopted to generate adjusted prevalence ratios (APR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) to estimate the association between early screen exposure and astigmatism. 28,029 preschoolers were included in the final analysis. After adjustment for potential confounders, screen exposure during early life was significantly associated with the increased risk of astigmatism (APR and 95% CI: 2.25, 1.76-2.88), and the greatest risk was observed in the period from birth to 1-year (APR and 95% CI: 3.10, 2.41-3.98). The risk of astigmatism increased with both the total years of exposure and the average daily duration of screen exposure. Our findings suggested that preschoolers who were exposed to screens during early life might have an increased risk of astigmatism.

This study aimed to investigate the association between environmental exposure to tobacco smoke (ETS) during early life and astigmatism in Chinese preschool children. In this cross-sectional study, information concerning prenatal and postnatal ETS exposure at three stages of early life (during pregnancy, from birth to one year and from one to three years), visual problems of children and parents (including a confirmed diagnosis of astigmatism), socio-demographics and perinatal characteristics were obtained from 27,890 parent-reported questionnaires. Logistic regression analyses were undertaken to yield adjusted odds ratios (OR) for assessing their associations. After adjusting for the potential confounders, children were more likely to exhibit astigmatism when they were exposed to ETS during pregnancy + from one to three years [OR (95% CI) = 1.37 (1.02, 1.84)], or from birth to one year + from one to three years [OR (95% CI) = 1.36 (1.11, 1.66)], or during pregnancy + from birth to one year + from one to three years old [OR (95% CI) = 1.29 (1.16, 1.45)], compared to children without ETS exposure at any stage of early life. In Chinese preschool children, prenatal and postnatal astigmatism was associated with ETS exposure; the greater the ETS dose, the greater the astigmatism risk.

Aim: Depressive disorders are common in old age. Antipsychotics (APs) are often used as an adjunctive treatment with antidepressants (ADs) in this population but its patterns of use in Asia are not known. This study explored the rate of combination of APs and ADs in older adult psychiatric patients in Asia., Methods: This is a secondary analysis of the database of a multicentre study which recorded participants' basic demographical and clinical data in standardised format in 10 Asian countries and territories. The data were analysed using univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses., Results: A total of 955 older adult psychiatric in- and outpatients were included in this study. The proportion of concurrent AP and AD use was 32.0%, ranging from 23.3% in Korea to 44.0% in Taiwan. Multivariate logistic regression analysis found that younger age, inpatient status and diagnosis of schizophrenia, anxiety and other mental disorders were significantly related to a higher proportion of concurrent use of APs and ADs., Conclusion: Around a third of older adult psychiatric patients had concurrent AP and AD use in the Asian countries/regions surveyed. This study explored the associations between parental Type D personality (TDP), parent⁻child interactive activities, and children's hyperactive behaviors. Moreover, the study examined whether parent⁻child interactive activities mediated the associations between parental TDP and children's hyperactive behaviors. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among children from all kindergartens in a district of a southern city in China. Data on parental TDP, the frequency of parent⁻child interactive activities, children's hyperactive behaviors, and socio-demographic characteristics were provided by 47,648 parent⁻child dyads. Multiple regression analysis was employed to assess the associations between parental TDP, parent⁻child interactive activities, and children's hyperactive behaviors. Mediation analysis was applied to explore the mediating role of parent⁻child interactive activities on the associations between parental TDP and children's hyperactive behaviors. Parental TDP was negatively associated with the frequency of parent⁻child interactive activities and positively associated with children's hyperactive behaviors. The frequencies of parent⁻child interactive activities were negatively associated with children's hyperactive behaviors. The frequency of parent⁻child interactive activities partially mediated the associations between parental TDP and children's hyperactive behaviors. Future research may consider parental TDP and parent⁻child interactive activities as potential important predictors of hyperactive behaviors in children. Such research will help identify further targets for intervention to reduce hyperactive behaviors in children.

Sexual harassment experienced by nurses and nursing students is common and significantly associated with negative consequences. This study is a meta-analysis of the pooled prevalence of sexual harassment of nurses and nursing students in China. Electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, PsycINFO, Web of Science and Ovid, China National Knowledge Internet, WanFang, SinoMed and Chinese VIP Information) were independently and systematically searched by two reviewers from their commencement date to 12 March 2018. Forty-one studies that reported the prevalence of sexual harassment were analyzed using the random-effects model. The pooled prevalence of sexual harassment was 7.5% (95% CI: 5.5%-10.1%), with 7.5% (5.5%-10.2%) in nurses and 7.2% (3.0%-16.2%) in nursing students. Subgroup analyses showed that the year of survey and sample size were significantly associated with the prevalence of sexual harassment, but not the seniority of nursing staff, department, hospital, economic region, timeframe, age, working experience or subtypes of harassment. In China, sexual harassment was found to be common in nurses and nursing students. Jasmine scented black tea is widely popular in China and the scenting process is the most crucial issue affecting its aroma quality. This study aimed to analyze the influence of different processes on aroma quality and the specific contribution of volatiles to aroma quality. To achieve it, the headspace solid-phase microextraction method combined with gas-chromatography mass-spectrometry was used to identify and quantify the volatile compounds, and further collected the characteristics according to odor activity values or contents. The quantitative descriptive analysis (QDA) and traditional sensory analysis (TSA) were used to evaluate its aroma quality and the correlation analysis between QDA and characteristic aroma compounds was carry out to analyze the specific contribution of characteristics to sensory quality. The GC/MS results showed that 130 aroma components and 20 characteristics were identified in 6 tea samples and more new volatile components appeared and less original volatile components disappeared in traditional scenting process (TSP) compared with continuous scenting process (CSP). The QDA and TSA results showed that TSP samples had better "overall" and "jasmine" than CSP samples. The correlation analysis between QDA and characteristics showed that nerolidol and methylbenzoate were related to "overall," linalool and methyl anthranilate to "jasmine," and decanal and benzeneacetaldehyde to "sweet floral," "roasted," and "fermented." This study suggested that TSP is a favorable scenting process for black tea, and QDA is an objective and digital sensory evaluation method for jasmine scented black tea. PRACTICAL APPLICATION: Compare the effect of scenting technology on the aroma quality of jasmine scented black tea based on sensory analysis and chemical analysis, and suggested a favorable scenting process for processing jasmine scented black tea with better qualities. Explore the correlation between aroma composition and specific aroma properties to provide some useful information about guiding the scenting process to acquire a product with target aroma qualities. The impact of schizophrenia on quality of life (QOL) is significantly influenced by sociocultural factors. This meta-analysis systematically compared QOL between patients with schizophrenia and healthy controls in China. PubMed, PsycINFO, Embase, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), SinoMed and WanFang databases were searched to identify case-control studies. Standardized mean differences (SMDs) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated using random effect models. Eighteen case-control studies comparing QOL between schizophrenia patients (n = 2,425) and healthy controls (n = 2,072) were included in the analyses. Compared with healthy controls, schizophrenia patients had significantly poorer overall QOL [11 studies; SMD:-1.07 (95%CI:-1.44, -0.70), P < 0.001] as well as in the physical, psychological, social and environmental QOL domains. Subgroup analyses revealed that poorer QOL was significantly associated with diagnostic criteria, study location, female gender, older age and inpatient status. Older schizophrenia patients had lower physical and psychological QOL, while inpatients had lower psychological QOL. Gray blight of tea, caused by several Pestalotiopsis-like species, is one of the most destructive foliar diseases in tea cultivation yet the characteristics of these pathogens have not been confirmed until now. With morphological and multigene phylogenetic analyses, we have identified the gray blight fungi as Pseudopestalotiopsis camelliae-sinensis, Neopestalotiopsis clavispora, and Pestalotiopsis camelliae. Phylogenetic analyses derived from the combined internal transcribed spacer, β-tubulin, and translation elongation factor 1-α gene regions successfully resolved most of the Pestalotiopsis-like species used in this study with high bootstrap supports and revealed three major clusters representing these three species. Differences in colony appearance and conidia morphology (shape, size, septation, color and length of median cells, and length and number of apical and basal appendages) were consistent with the phylogenetic grouping. Pathogenicity tests validated that all three species isolated from tea leaves were causal agents of gray blight disease on tea plant (Camellia sinensis). This is the first description of the characteristics of the three species Pseudopestalotiopsis camelliae-sinensis, N. clavispora, and Pestalotiopsis camelliae as causal agents of tea gray blight disease in China.

Disorders of blood lipid metabolism are the primary risk factors for many diseases. Recently, the effect of Pu-erh tea on blood lipid metabolism has received increasing attention. However, the mechanism underlying its ability to regulate blood lipid metabolism is unclear. We set out to study this through assessing the effects of Pu-erh tea aqueous extract (PTAE) on the central enzymes of blood lipid metabolism, including lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2), lecithin: cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT), 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase (HMGR) and pancreatic lipase (PL). We find that the Lp-PLA2, HMRG and PL activities are inhibited by PTAE in a dose-dependent manner and that the LCAT activity tends to increase with increasing PTAE concentrations. Lineweaver-Burk plot analyses reveal that PTAE acts as a competitive inhibitor for HMGR and PL and as a noncompetitive inhibitor for Lp-PLA2. Moreover, we determine that its active ingredients include catechins, gallic acid, caffeine, free amino acids, and soluble sugar. However, the effect of each ingredient and whether any of them have synergistic effects are still unknown. The results suggest that Pu-erh tea has a potent ability to regulate blood lipid metabolism and knowledge of the mechanisms provides insights into its potential therapeutic application as an alternative hypolipidemic drug.

Aims and Background: Subsequent primary cancers (SPCs) have been demonstrated to be the major causes of death among patients with thoracic esophageal squamous cell cancer (ESCC) negative for lymph node involvement. We designed this study to investigate clinical characteristics and risk patterns of SPCs following esophagectomy in patients with early-stage thoracic ESCC., Methods: We retrospectively analyzed clinical factors in 512 patients with early-stage thoracic ESCC collected from 3 independent hospitals over a 10-year interval., Results: The overall standard incidence rate (SIR) of SPCs was 3.84 (95% confidence interval 2.98-4.95). The most common SPCs were head and neck cancers, lung cancer, and stomach cancer. The risk patterns of SPCs varied across organs. A 3-phase risk pattern with a U-shaped curve between 2 rising phases was seen for head and neck cancers, while for the other cancers, the risk patterns all displayed as an approximately linear upward trend. It was further noted that sex, smoking habits, and cancer histories among first-degree relatives were 3 significant independent risk factors in the development of SPCs., Conclusions: We observed significant associations between early-stage ESCC and SPCs arising from anatomically adjacent sites. The different risk patterns of SPCs indicated that follow-up strategies should be established accordingly in different organs at different times, with particularly close follow-up for head and neck cancers in the first 5 years and beyond 15 years after diagnosis of ESCC.

When modelling prevalence data, epidemiological studies usually employ either Gaussian, binomial or Poisson models. However, reasons are seldom given in the literature why the chosen model was felt to be the most appropriate. In this study, we compared all three models for fitting schistosomiasis risk in Xingzi county, Jiangxi province, People's Republic of China. Parasitological data from conventional surveys were available for 36,208 individuals aged between 6 and 65 years from 42 sampled villages and used in combination with environmental data to map the spatial patterns of schistosomiasis risk. The results show that the Poisson model fitted the data best and this model identified the role of environmental risk factors in explaining the geographical variation of schistosomiasis risk. These factors were further used to develop a predictive map, which has important implications for the control and eventual elimination of schistosomiasis in the People's Republic of China.

Objective: To study the longitudinal change of data on Oncomelania hupensis surveillance in different marshlands and the impact of recent water level in Xingzi County, Jiangxi Province., Methods: All information including water level of hydrometric station and the data of snails at the marshlands of Xiguanhu, Majiawan and Ximiaoqian was collected to explore the longitudinal change of snails and analyze the relationship between snail distribution and recent water level with Spearman rank correlation analysis., Results: The highest proportion of frames with living snails and living snail densities at Majiawan and Ximiaoqian was 89.66% (442/493) in 2002 and 66.72% (872/1 307) in 2007, 8.33 in 2001 and 7.39 snails per frame in 2006, respectively, and the lowest was 13.26% (126/950) in 2010 and 4.60% (55/1 195) in 2005, 0.42 in 2010 and 0.22 snails per frame in 2002, respectively, and tended to decrease gradually after 2007. At Majiawan, infected snails were found in 2005 and 2009, the density and proportion of infected snails were 0.0033 and 0.0025 snails per frame, 0.09% (3/3 306) and 0.22% (3/1 389). Infected snails were found in Ximiaoqian in 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2009, the highest density and proportion of infected snails were 0.005 0 snails per frame and 0.88% (6/684) in 2005. Infected snails were found in Xiguanhu in 2002 and 2003 with a density and proportion of 0.0029 and 0.0027 snails per frame, 0.10% (1/974) and 0.32% (1/312), respectively. The correlation analysis between proportion of frames with living snails and density at Xiguanhu with the average water level of the first and second month before snail survey showed statistical significance, the correlation coefficient was 0.76, 0.71, 0.82 and 0.78 (P<0.05), respectively. The correlation between proportion of frames with living snails and density at Majiawan showed no statistical significance with the average water level of recent three months before snail survey. The proportion of frames with living snails and density at Xiguanhu were negatively correlated with the average water level of the first and second month before snail survey, the correlation coefficient was -0.67, -0.75, -0.79 and -0.72 (P<0.05), respectively., Conclusion: The change trend of snail indicators in different marshlands in the County and impact of water level in recent three months on snail population are both different, and the snail control strategy in marshlands should therefore be adjusted.

Objective: To detect the spatial distribution characteristics of iodine in drinking water of residents in Shandong province with spatial autocorrelation analysis., Methods: The county-based study set Shandong province as a research site. A total of 108 164 water samples from 140 counties were collected. The drinking water iodine data in county-level city between 2008 to 2010 were obtained from Shandong Institute of Prevention and Control for Endemic Disease and was merged with an electronic map to build a spatial database. Global and local Moran's I index were calculated, respectively, and spatial autocorrelation and cluster range of iodine distribution in drinking water in Shandong province were studied by SaTScan software., Results: All counties were further grouped according to the "criteria of delimitation for IDD endemic areas" and "determination and classification of the areas of high water iodine and the endemic areas of iodine excess goiter", and 90 counties were iodine deficiency (< 10 µg/L), 31 were iodine suitable (10 - 150 µg/L), and 19 (> 150 µg/L) were high iodine. For the overall study area, the iodine distribution in drinking water in Shandong province existed spatial autocorrelation (Moran's I = 0.52, Z = 7.4, P < 0.01). For the local scale, the drinking water iodine in 18 counties of Dezhou, Liaocheng and Heze city in western Shandong province was clustered, the local Moran's I were between 0.22 - 1.00 (P < 0.01), which were all high-high clusters, indicating the positive spatial correlation. Spatial analysis using SaTScan software detected two cluster areas including 20 counties, which the centers located in Xiajin and Dingtao county, the cluster radiuses were 57.47 km and 65.58 km respectively. The analysis results were consistent with the results of local spatial autocorrelation., Conclusion: There are apparent spatial autocorrelation and strong spatial heterogeneity existed in the iodine distribution in drink water in Shandong province.

The aim of the present study is to profile differentially expressed protein markers between left-sided colon cancer (LSCC) and right-sided colon cancer (RSCC). Fresh tumor tissue samples from LSCC (n = 7) and RSCC (n = 7) groups were analyzed by two-dimensional electrophoresis coupled with MALDI-TOF-MS, followed by Western blotting. In 50 paraffin embedded samples from each group, levels of four differentially expressed proteins (identified by proteomics analysis) were measured by tissue microarray with immunohistochemistry staining to compare the different protein markers between LSCC and RSCC. Sixteen proteins were found to be differentially expressed between LSCC and RSCC. Ten proteins including HSP-60 and PDIA1 were identified to be highly expressed in LSCC (P < 0.01 or P < 0.05), while the expression of six proteins including EEF1D and HSP-27 were higher in RSCC (P < 0.01 or P < 0.05). Virtually all of the indentified proteins were involved in cellular energy metabolism, protein folding/unfolding, and/or oxidative stress. Human colon tumors at various locations have different proteomic biomarkers. Differentially expressed proteins associated with energy metabolism, protein folding/unfolding and oxidative stress contribute to different tumorigenesis, tumor progression, and prognosis between left- and right-sided colon cancer., (© 2012 Japanese Cancer Association.)

Objective: To explore the preliminary application of high resolution CBERS-02B images in detecting the Oncomelania snail habitats in lake and marshland regions., Methods: The images with high resolutions were first fused from CBERS-02B HR and CCD images, and then the potential snail habitats in Xingzi County of Jiangxi Province were extracted from high resolution CBERS images and CCD images, respectively. A total of 2 000 validation points were randomly selected for comparing the difference of distribution of these points inside and outside of the extracted two snail habitats with the McNemar chi-square test., Results: The areas of the two snail habitats extracted from high resolution and CCD images were 98.23 km2 and 94.89 km2, respectively. The numbers of validation points in the two snail habitats were 255 and 248, respectively, and no significant difference was found (chi2 =177 9.52, P = 0.23)., Conclusion: At large-scale studies, the ranges and areas of the two snail habitats extracted from high resolution and CCD images are not significantly different.

Objective: To understand the effect of schistosomiasis control in Zhuxi Village, Xingzi County, Jiangxi Province., Methods: According to the national scheme of schistosomiasis surveillance, we investigated the schistosomiasis epidemic in Zhuxi Village from 2005-2010. The epidemic data of schistosomiasis on the humans, farm cattle, and Oncomelania snails were collected, respectively and analyzed by using the method of Cochran-Armitage test., Results: Human infections and snail infections showed dynamic fluctuations (Z = 3.35, P = 0.000 8) and the density of alive snails tended to decrease gradually. The majority of the infections were peasants and students. The infection rates of farm cattle were 12.31%, 3.23%, 2.94%, 3.33%, 4.44% and 2.15%, respectively from 2005-2010., Conclusion: The effect of schistosomiasis control is very fine and schistosomiasis has been well controlled.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of an integrated control strategy and to quantify the spatial-temporal variation of infected snails in the bottomland areas after the strategy was implemented., Methods: Based on the geographic database of infected snail distribution at the village level during 2004 - 2010 in Anxiang county, Hunan province, spatial autocorrelation analysis and spatial scan statistics were applied to analyze the spatial-temporal characteristics on the distribution of infected snails., Results: The number of embankments with infected snails in Anxiang county decreased from 23 in 2004 to 10 in 2010, while the rate of frame with infected snail in embankments decreased from 4.32‰ in 2004 to 0.12‰ in 2010. The spatial distribution of infected snails was nonrandom, only in 2004 and 2005 with Moran's I = 0.21 (P < 0.10) and Moran's I = 0.13 (P < 0.10) respectively. Data from the local spatial auto-correlation analysis showed that the number of villages with H-H types of auto-correlation model had been gradually decreasing. The results of SaTScan statistics appeared the same as from the local spatial auto-correlation analysis, showing that the number of areas with increased risk was decreasing., Conclusion: The comprehensive measures with emphasis on infectious source control seemed effective for schistosomiasis control program. The current distribution characteristics provided us with evidence that the resource assignment could be more reasonably implemented so as to control schistosomiasis in a more effective way.

Background: Population based epidemiologic study on the main diseases and birth status of liveborn neonates remains scarce in China, especially in rural areas where a large number of neonates are born. The aim of this study was to establish an epidemiological basis of live births in Julu County, a representative of the northern and mid-western parts of China in terms of demography, disease pattern and women and children's health care infrastructure., Methods: The perinatal data of all live births were prospectively collected in three participating county-level hospitals from September 1, 2007 to August 30, 2008., Results: There were 5822 live births in these hospitals. Among all live births, 53.7% were male and 4.5% were born prematurely. Mean (SD) birth weight (BW) was (3348 ± 503) g. The low (< 2500 g) and very low BW (< 1500 g) infants accounted for 3.8% and 0.5% of the total births, with 6.5% as small for gestational age and 2.8% as multi-births. Cesarean section rate was 30.2%, of which 68.6% were elective. There were 745 infants (12.8% of the live births) admitted to local neonatal wards within 7 days of postnatal life, in which 48.3% and 19.3% were due to perinatal asphyxia and prematurity, respectively. The incidences of perinatal aspiration syndrome, transient tachypnea and respiratory distress syndrome were 4.9%, 0.6% and 0.5%, respectively. Neonatal mortality was 7.6‰ (44/5822), with 16 in delivery room and 28 in neonatal ward before discharge., Conclusions: This study provided a population-based perinatal data of live births and neonatal mortality in a northern China county with limited resources. Neonatal disorders related to perinatal asphyxia remain a serious clinical problem, which calls for sustained education of advanced neonatal resuscitation and improvement in the quality of perinatal-neonatal care.

Objective: To identify hantavirus from lung specimens of rats captured in Guangxi., Methods: Rats were collected from various areas in Guangxi in combination with plague surveillance and rat lung specimens were examined by ELISA for hantavirus antigen, and M segment of positive specimen was partially amplified with RT-PCR and sequenced. Phylogenetic analysis was conducted for genotyping., Results: From a total of 306 rat lung specimens, a strain of SEO hantavirus was detected from lung specimen of a Norvegicus that was from coastal area of Guangxi Qinzhou city., Conclusions: For the first time SEO hantanvirus was detected in the coastal area of Guangxi Qinzhou city, its epidemiological significance needs further study.

Objective: To study the epidemic pattern and trend of HBV infection in the area where the people had been immunized by HBV vaccine for 20 years., Methods: The whole sampling method was applied in combination with cross-sectional investigation. Blood samples were taken from every member of families. Markers of HBV infection were determined by using solid-phase radioimmunoassay (SPRIA)., Results: (1) The average HBsAg positive rate was 7.5%. The positive rate of markers for HBV infection of 0-19 years old subjects were lower than those of > or = 20 years old subjects. (2) The positive rate of HBsAg of 0-19 years old subjects in 1985 was higher than that in 2005. The anti-HBs positive rate in 1985 stemmed to be higher with age. It was 12.4% in 1- age group to 53.8% in >60 years age group. While the result of 2005 showed that the anti-HBs positive rate of 0-19 years old subjects dropped with age. The anti-HBc positive rate in 1985 also tended to be higher with age. But the result of 2005 showed that the rate of 0-19 years old subjects was just 1.4% to 16.8%., Conclusion: The epidemic patterns of HBV infection have had significant variations in the target population. HBV vaccine immunization has obtained excellent efficacy.
