The Sipingshan gold deposit, located in the eastern part of the Nadanhada Terrane, is hosted within cherts and silicified breccias of the Upper Cretaceous Sipingshan Formation and rhyolites of the Upper Cretaceous Datashanlinchang Formation. The orebodies are composed of gold- and pyrite-bearing cherts, silicified breccias, and quartz veins accompanied by various types of wall rock alteration, including silicification, pyritization, sericitization, chloritization, pyrophyllitization, and carbonatization. LA-ICP-MS U–Pb zircon ages determined for the ore-bearing rhyolites range between 122 ± 1.4 and 135.2 ± 1.9 million years slightly older than the metallogenic age of the Sipingshan gold deposit. The rhyolite has aluminium saturation index values ranging from 0.015 to 1.25 and shows the following features: enrichment in LILE (e.g. Rb, Pb, K, and Th); depletion of Ba, Sm, and Ti; and negative Eu anomalies. These geochemical characteristics indicate that (1) the rhyolite contains features typical of S-type granites; (2) the felsic magma likely originated through partial melting of the continental crust; and (3) plagioclase crystals were present in the partial melt residues in the magma source region, or else magma evolution involved plagioclase fractionation. The host cherts have high Al/(Al + Fe + Mn) ratios (0.23–0.81, averaging 0.60) and low Al2O3and TiO2contents. Their North American shale-normalized REE patterns are characterized by flat REE, slightly positive Eu anomalies, no Ce anomalies, and (La/Yb)SNratios of 1.27–1.38, indicating that these cherts formed in a continental margin environment. In addition, the analysed cherts have low ΣREE (1.56–3.64 ppm) and Zr (9.1–13.5 ppm) contents, suggesting a hydrothermal origin. Fluid inclusions in quartz veins show elliptical to irregular shapes that range from 5 to 12 μm in size and have homogenization temperatures of 118.7–223.4°C, densities of 0.84–0.94 g/cm3, and pressures of 21.2–51.4 MPa, indicating that the hot-spring-type Sipingshan gold deposit is epithermal in origin. The Guojiagou Pb–Zn deposit is located in Li County, Gansu Province, northwestern China. The ores consist of skarn and vein types, with the skarn type occurring at the contact zone between granodiorite and marble, and the vein type hosted in the extension faults within the Triassic Huashiguan Formation limestone. Granodiorite samples from the Weijiazhuang pluton show high ratios of Sr/Y (32.25–43.44) and (La/Yb) N (15.7–16.5), small Eu anomalies (δEu = 0.73–0.80), high concentrations of Mg# (57.6–64.2), Cr (100–110 ppm), and Ni (15.9–16.6 ppm), abundant mafic micro-granular enclaves, and have zircon εHf (t) values of −1.9 to −4.6 and T DM2 of 1149.6 to 1285 Ma. This suggests that the Weijiazhuang granodiorites were generated by the partial melting of the Meso-Proterozoic high-K basaltic lower crust with the addition of mantle-sourced melts. The ore-forming process can be subdivided into five stages: prograde skarn (stage I), retrograde skarn (stage II), quartz-sulfide (stage III), sphalerite-calcite (stage IV), and quartz-calcite (stage V). The δ13C values range from −5.1 to −1.3 ‰ and δ18O values range from −4 to 18.6 ‰ in calcites, suggesting a mixed source of magma, limestone, and pore or basinal water for CO 3 2−. The δ34S values (6–7.7 ‰) of sulfides indicate that sulfur mainly originated from magma, with a minor contribution from host limestone. The Pb isotopes of sulfides from stages III and IV (208Pb/204Pb = 38.176–39.218, 207Pb/204Pb = 15.889–15.678, and 206Pb/204Pb = 18.147–18.903) showed mixed sources of crust and mantle. The Weijiazhuang pluton and Guojiagou Pb–Zn deposit yield ages of 220 ± 1.8 Ma (MSWD = 0.35) and 213 ± 3.0 Ma (MSWD = 1.5), respectively, obtained by zircon and garnet LA–ICP–MS U–Pb analysis. These results indicate that the Guojiagou Pb–Zn deposit formed in a syn -collisional tectonic regime during the Late Triassic. Based on the data presented in this study and previous research on mineralization in the eastern West Qinling Orogen, we conclude that the Guojiagou Pb–Zn deposit is a typical skarn-type deposit and that Pb–Zn mineralization in the eastern West Qinling Orogen is closely related to Triassic magmatism, which provided not only thermal energy but also ore-forming materials and fluids. • The granodiorites were mainly generated by partial melting of Meso-Proterozoic high-K basaltic lower crust. • Ore-forming fluids and materials originated from magma and host limestone. • The Guojiagou Pb–Zn deposit yields U-Pb ages of 220 ± 1.8 Ma (MSWD = 0.35) for zircons and 213 ± 3.0 Ma (MSWD = 1.5) for garnets, respectively. • The Pb–Zn mineralization in the eastern QOB was closely related to Triassic magmatism. Surveys were carried out to better understand the tick vector ecology and genetic diversity of Huaiyangshan virus (HYSV) in both regions of endemicity and regions of nonendemicity. Haemaphysalis longicornis ticks were dominant in regions of endemicity, while Rhipicephalus microplus is more abundant in regions of nonendemicity. HYSV RNA was found in human and both tick species, with greater prevalence in H. longicornis and lesser prevalence in R. microplus. Phylogenetic analyses indicate that HYSV is a novel species of the genus Phlebovirus. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Meningioangiomatosis (MA) is a disease that is extremely rarely reported. Sporadic MA is occasionally combined with meningioma or other lesions (identified as non-pure MA). This retrospective study investigated the difference between pure MA and non-pure MA by exploring clinical manifestations, histopathology characteristics, and outcomes of MA after surgery. We reviewed the medical records of 36 histopathologically confirmed MA patients (18 pure MA and 18 non-pure MA) who received surgery at our institution between 2012 and 2021. We compared differences in demographic, clinical, imaging, pathological features, and surgical outcomes between pure MA and non-pure MA through descriptive statistics. Compared to non-pure MA, pure MA presented with a more prominent male predilection (5:1 vs. 1.57:1, P = 0.264), a higher seizure incidence (83.3% vs 50.0%, P = 0.038), a more seizure type of GTCS (14/15 vs 5/9, P = 0.047), a less prominent enhancement on MRI (27.8% vs 88.9%, P < 0.001) and a preference of temporal and frontal lobe (100% vs 44.4%, P < 0.001). The differences in clinical characteristics between pure MA and non-pure MA demonstrate their disparate biological natures. Pure MA seems to be a non-neoplastic lesion, while non-pure MA is commonly combined with meningioma, which is a neoplastic lesion. A correct differential diagnosis can be achieved via a triad of the type of seizure, the location of lesion and the radiological presentation. MA is curable and the prognosis is excellent as most patients are free of seizure and recurrence after surgical treatment., (© 2022. Postoperative agitation frequently occurs after general anesthesia and may be associated with serious consequences. However, studies in neurosurgical patients have been inadequate. We aimed to investigate the incidence and risk factors for early postoperative agitation in patients after craniotomy, specifically focusing on the association between postoperative pneumocephalus and agitation. Adult intensive care unit admitted patients after elective craniotomy under general anesthesia were consecutively enrolled. Patients were assessed using the Sedation-Agitation Scale during the first 24 hours after operation. The patients were divided into two groups based on their maximal Sedation-Agitation Scale: the agitation (Sedation-Agitation Scale ≥ 5) and non-agitation groups (Sedation-Agitation Scale ≤ 4). Preoperative baseline data, intraoperative and intensive care unit admission data were recorded and analyzed. Each patient's computed tomography scan obtained within six hours after operation was retrospectively reviewed. Modified Rankin Scale and hospital length of stay after the surgery were also collected. Of the 400 enrolled patients, agitation occurred in 13.0% (95% confidential interval: 9.7-16.3%). Body mass index, total intravenous anesthesia, intraoperative fluid intake, intraoperative bleeding and transfusion, consciousness after operation, endotracheal intubation kept at intensive care unit admission and mechanical ventilation, hyperglycemia without a history of diabetes, self-reported pain and postoperative bi-frontal pneumocephalus were used to build a multivariable model. Bi-frontal pneumocephalus and delayed extubation after the operation were identified as independent risk factors for postoperative agitation. After adjustment for confounding, postoperative agitation was independently associated with worse neurologic outcome (odd ratio: 5.4, 95% confidential interval: 1.1-28.9, P = 0.048). Our results showed that early postoperative agitation was prevalent among post-craniotomy patients and was associated with adverse outcomes. A field experiment was conducted to study the effects of different nitrogen forms ((NH2)2CO-N, NO(3-)-N, NH(4+)-N, and NO(3-)-NH4+) and their ratios on the yield formation, quality, and nutrient (N, P, and K) absorption of broccoli (Brassica oleracea). Fertilization with NO(3-)-N increased the accumulation of nitrate and soluble sugars in ball flower. When the NO(3-)-N: NH(4+)-N ratio was ranged from 3:7 to 5:5 and from 5:5 to 7:3, respectively, the accumulation of nitrate in the ball flower was reduced, while the soluble sugars content was promoted. Fertilization with (NH2)2CO-N and NH(4+)-N was conducive to the improvement of Vc content in the ball flower. N fertilization increased the accumulation of N, P, and K in plants, with the highest contents of N, P, and K observed at rosette stage. Throughout the entire growth period, NH(4+)-N fertilization improved the plant N content, whereas NO(3-)-N fertilization improved the plant K content. At different growth stages, the effects of different N sources on plant P content varied. As compared with applying single N forms, the NO(3-)-N:NH(4+)-N ratio ranged from 3:7 to 5:5 could improve the yield significantly. It was suggested that a combined application of NO(3-)-N and NH(4+)-N with an appropriate ratio could improve the productivity, quality, and economic return of broccoli.

Background:  Hemorrhagic fever-like illness caused by a novel Bunyavirus, Huaiyangshan virus (HYSV, also known as Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia virus [SFTSV] and Fever, Thrombocytopenia and Leukopenia Syndrome [FTLS]), has recently been described in China., Methods:  Patients with laboratory-confirmed HYSV infection who were admitted to Union Hospital or Zhongnan Hospital between April 2010 and October 2010 were included in this study. Clinical and routine laboratory data were collected and blood, throat swab, urine, or feces were obtained when possible. Viral RNA was quantified by real-time reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction. Blood levels of a range of cytokines, chemokines, and acute phase proteins were assayed., Results:  A total of 49 patients with hemorrhagic fever caused by HYSV were included; 8 (16.3%) patients died. A fatal outcome was associated with high viral RNA load in blood at admission, as well as higher serum liver transaminase levels, more pronounced coagulation disturbances (activated partial thromboplastin time, thrombin time), and higher levels of acute phase proteins (phospholipase A, fibrinogen, hepcidin), cytokines (interleukin [IL]-6, IL-10, interferon-γ), and chemokines (IL-8, monocyte chemotactic protein 1, macrophage inflammatory protein 1b). The levels of these host parameters correlated with viral RNA levels. Blood viral RNA levels gradually declined over 3-4 weeks after illness onset, accompanied by resolution of symptoms and laboratory abnormalities. Viral RNA was also detectable in throat, urine, and fecal specimens of a substantial proportion of patients, including all fatal cases assayed. CONCLUSIONS. Viral replication and host immune responses play an important role in determining the severity and clinical outcome in patients with infection by HYSV.
