Improving the supply efficieney of rural public service is a important way to solve the severe shortage of rural public service. In this artiele, we use three-stage DEA model to carry out empirical research of the supply efficieney of rural publie service in 31 provinces and regions of China. The results show that if without eontrol over exogenous environment variables and random brunt, the classic DEA method will overestimate the rural publie service efficieney; Mter eontrolling the impaet of the external environmental faetors, the mean of supply efficieney of rural publie service in 31 provinces ad regions of China is 0. 697 ; the improved rural per capita ineome, population density, population size and the educational level of residents, is a significantly favorable faetor for enhancing the supply efficieney of rural publie service, while the in- erease in the proportion of fiseal spending on rural publie service to GDP plays no significant role in improving the rural publie service efficieney ; according to their efficieney type, the provinces ad regions should adopt some measures, such as improving the management level or expanding the supply scale, to improve the supply efficieney.
