The Tulaergen magmatic Ni-Cu sulfide ore deposit is located along the southern margin of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt in northwestern China. This deposit is hosted by a small mafic–ultramafic complex composed of a Late Carboniferous (~ 301 Ma) gabbroic member at the margin and a younger ultramafic dyke in the center. Net-textured and semi-massive sulfides are mainly concentrated in the steeply dipping, widened parts of the dyke. Zircons from the ultramafic member yield a U–Pb age of 281 ± 2 Ma, ~ 20 myr younger than the gabbroic member. The average εHf(t) value of the zircons is ~ 16. The Tulaergen mafic–ultramafic rocks are characterized by light REE enrichments, pronounced negative Nb–Ta anomalies, (87Sr/86Sr)i ratios from 0.7034 to 0.7036, and εNd(t) values from 5.1 to 6.9. The isotope data indicate negligible bulk contamination with the crust. The δ34S values of sulfide ores are from − 0.3 to 1.5‰, similar to the values of the country rocks. The γOs values of the sulfide ores are from + 605 to + 954, much higher than typical mantle values. The Os-S isotope data together support the view that the addition of Os-bearing organic matter from the country rocks may have played a critical role in triggering sulfide saturation. In the sub-vertical segment of the deposit, the upper zone has lower PGE tenors coupled with lower and rather constant olivine Fo contents compared to the lower zone. Background: Clopidogrel is an inactive prodrug, it catalyzed into its active form by Cytochrome 450 and Paraoxonase-1(PON-1). polymorphisms of genes encoding these enzymes will affect the efficacy of Clopidogrel. The main objective of our study was to investigate the association of CYP2C19*2, CYP2C19*3 and PON-1Q192R polymorphisms with Clopidogrel resistance and major adverse cardiac events in Jin Hua district in the middle of Zhe Jiang Province in China. Methods: One hundred sixty coronary heart disease patients with percutaneous coronary intervention, who were followed-up for 1 year, were enrolled in our study. These patients were co-administered aspirin 100 mg/d and clopidogrel 75 mg/d following a loading dose of 300 mg. The ADP-induced platelet aggregation rate was measured by Platelet aggregator. Genotypes of CYP2C19*2, CYP2C19*3, PON-1Q192R were determined using Sanger sequencing in all patients. Various clinical data were collected. Results: The frequencies of CYP2C19*2, CYP2C19*3 and PON-1Q192R homozygous mutant genotypes were significantly lower in non-responders than those in responders. After for all variables, CYP2C19*2, CYP2C19*3 and PON-1Q192R independently increased the risk of clopidogrel resistance with adjusted ORs 46.65(95% CI,1.77–25.04; p = 0.005); 22.74(95% CI, 3.11–166.27; p = 0.002); 5.69 (95% CI,1.06–30.47; p = 0.042). Over a follow-up of 12 months, the incidence of major adverse cardiac events (MACE) in CYP2C19*1/*2, *1/*3, *2/*2, *2/*3 was significantly higher than no mutant genotype (18/40vs.2/63,3/9vs.2/63, 11/6vs.2/63, 7/1vs2/63, respectively). There was no significant correlation between PON-1Q192R mutant allele and MACE. Conclusion: Our study was first time to report on CYP2C19 and PON-1 polymorphisms in Jin Hua population in the middle of Zhe Jiang province in China. The carriage of CYP2C19*2 or *3 mutant allele significantly reduced the platelet response to clopidogrel and increase the MACE. The carriage of PON-1 mutant allele also significantly reduced the platelet response to clopidogrel, but would not increase the major adverse cardiac events after 1 year follow-up. Abstract Multiple heavy metals pollution in environment and food has become an ever-increasing concern and poses a serious threat towards humans and animals. To broad the multiple heavy metals detection, Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles, Fe 3 O 4 /multi-walled carbon nanotubes (Fe 3 O 4 /MWCNTs) and Fe 3 O 4 /fluorinated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (Fe 3 O 4 /F-MWCNTs) nanocomposites were synthesized by hydrothermal method and constructed as a simultaneous electrochemical sensor, respectively. Compared the catalytic performances of the three electrochemical sensors for the simultaneous detection of Cd2+, Pb2+, Cu2+, and Hg2+, the results showed that the Fe 3 O 4 /F-MWCNTs sensor demonstrated preponderant performance. It showed the sensitivity of 108.79, 125.91, 160.85, and 312.65 μA mM−1 cm−2 toward Cd2+, Pb2+, Cu2+, and Hg2+, respectively, which was obviously higher than that of Fe 3 O 4 /MWCNTs and Fe 3 O 4. Additionally, the Fe 3 O 4 /F-MWCNTs sensor exhibited the wider linear detection ranges of 0.5–30.0, 0.5–30.0, 0.5–30.0, and 0.5–20.0 μM for Cd2+, Pb2+, Cu2+, and Hg2+, respectively. The limit of detections of the Fe 3 O 4 /F-MWCNTs sensor were 0.05, 0.08, 0.02, and 0.05 nM (signal to noise ratio of 3) for Cd2+, Pb2+, Cu2+, and Hg2+, respectively, fulfilling the governmental requests of the World Health Organization, China and Indian. The excellent agreement was recorded between the lowcost Fe 3 O 4 /F-MWCNTs sensor and typical methods (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry or atomic fluorescence spectrometry) in river water and soybean samples. Additionally, the sensor also exhibited excellent performances in selectivity, recovery, stability, and reproducibility. This proposal sensor provides a promising strategy to monitor multiple targets in the environment and food. The article focuses on a research paper discussing the geology, geochemistry and genesis of tungsten-tin (W-Sn) deposits in the Baiganhu District in Eastern Kunlun Domain, Northwestern China. The processes involved in the formation of deposits include early crystallization of tremolite, diopside and scheelite in tremolite-diopside skarns, the development of greisen-type deposit and the formation of W and Sn-bearing quartz-veins in the Xiaomiao formation zone of monzogranite.

The Baixintan mafic-ultramafic intrusion in the Dananhu-Tousuquan arc of the Eastern Tianshan orogenic belt is composed of lherzolite, olivine gabbro, and gabbro. Olivine gabbros contain zircon grains with a U-Pb age of 276.8 ± 1.1 Ma, similar to the ages of other Early Permian Ni-Cu ore-bearing intrusions in the region. The alkaline-silica diagrams, AFM diagram, together with the Ni/Cu-Pd/Ir diagram, indicate that the parental magmas for the Baixintan intrusion were likely high-Mg tholeiitic basaltic in composition. The Cu/Pd ratios, the relatively depleted PGEs and the correlations between them demonstrate that the parental magmas had already experienced sulfide segregation. The lower CaO content in pyroxenites compared with the Duke Island Alaskan-type intrusion and the composition of spinels imply that Baixintan is not an Alaskan-type intrusion. By comparing the Baixintan intrusion with other specific mafic-ultramafic intrusions, this paper considers that the mantle source of the Baixintan intrusion is metasomatized by subduction slab-derived fluids' components, which gives rise to the negative anomalies of Nb, Ti, and Ta elements. Nb/Yb-Th/Yb, Nb/Yb-TiO2/Yb, and ThN-NbN plots show that the Baixintan intrusion was emplaced in a back-arc spreading environment and may be related to a mantle plume. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article presents a study which focuses on geological characteristics and genesis of the Zankan iron deposit located in the Taxkorgan Area, Xinjiang Province, China. Topics discussed include geological setting of the deposits, several ore minerals such as pyrrhotite, magnetite and hematite; and three metallogenic stages of iron deposit formation such as early sedimentary, metamorphic and magmatic hydrothermal.

The Niubiziliang mafic-ultramafic complex with Ni-Cu mineralization is a rare example of magmatic Ni-Cu deposits formed in an orogenic setting, specifically the South Altyn orogen in Northwestern China. We report a baddeleyites U-Pb age of 452±12 Ma for the complex, which is consistent with the eclogite exhumation ages in the orogen and suggests a rift-related magmatism triggered by slab break-off. The complex shows geochemical and isotopic features indicative of a mantle-derived origin with 10% crustal contamination. The magmatic evolution involved extensive fractional crystallization, assimilation, and crustal contamination (AFC) processes. Fractional crystallization enhanced sulfur saturation in the early stage of magmatic evolution, while crustal contamination was the main factor for sulfide saturation and Ni-Cu mineralization in the later stage. The Niubiziliang mafic-ultramafic complex located in the South Altyn orogen consists of lherzolite, plagioclase-bearing lherzolite, olivine websterite, and gabbro. The intrusion contains a newly discovered zone of magmatic Ni-Cu sulfide mineralization, which is categorized into three units (Nos. 1, 2, and 3) based on discernible morphological features, with drilling investigations revealing sulfide mineralization in complexes Nos. 2 and 3 in both mafic and ultramafic rocks. The rocks of the Nuibiziliang complex have olivines with Fo 76.9–82.4 and Ni contents between 79 and 1957 ppm. The clinopyroxenes have variable Al 2 O 3 contents between 0.52 and 5.05 wt%, TiO 2 contents between 0.02 and 1.30 wt%, and NaO contents from 0.08 to 1.27 wt%. The geochemical variations are consistent with the intrusion belonging to a subalkaline magma series and the major element variations are consistent with igneous differentiation from a single magma type. The rocks display enrichment in light rare-earth elements and large-ion lithophile elements (K, Ba, and Sr) and depletion in high-field-strength elements (Ti, Zr, Hf, Ta, and Nb) and heavy rare-earth elements, which are typical features of enriched mid-ocean ridge basalt (E-MORB). These rocks exhibit enriched Sr–Nd isotope compositions with low (87Sr/86Sr) i ratios and mostly low positive εNd(t) values, indicating that the Niubiziliang complex originated from the partial melting of the asthenospheric mantle with up to 10% contamination by continental crust. Fractional crystallization enriched sulfur in the magma during the initial stage of magmatic evolution, but crustal contamination was the main factor causing sulfide saturation in the magma. Laser ablation inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry U-Pb dating of baddeleyites in the ultramafic rocks of the Niubiziliang complex yielded an age of 452±12 Ma for the crystallization of the magma. This age is similar to the age of eclogites formed during exhumation for the South Altyn orogen and indicates that the mafic-ultramafic magmatism formed in a rift setting by a process of break-up of an oceanic crustal slab at depth in the mantle. Heavy metals pollution is a notable threat to environment and human health. This study evaluated the potential ecological and health risks of heavy metals (Cu, Cr, Cd, Pb, Zn, Ni, and As) and their accumulation in a peanut-soil system based on 34 soil and peanut kernel paired samples across China. Soil As and Cd posed the greatest pollution risk with 47.1% and 17.6% of soil samples exceeding the risk screen levels, respectively, with 26.5% and 20.6% of the soil sites at relatively strong potential ecological risk level, respectively, and with the geo-accumulation levels at several soil sites in the uncontaminated to moderately contaminated categories. About 35.29% and 2.94% of soil sites were moderately and severely polluted based on Nemerow comprehensive pollution index, respectively, and a total of 32.4% of samples were at moderate ecological hazard level based on comprehensive potential ecological risk index values. The Cd, Cr, Ni, and Cu contents exceeded the standard in 11.76, 8.82, 11.76 and 5.88% of the peanut kernel samples, respectively. Soil metals posed more health risks to children than adults in the order As > Ni > Cr > Cu > Pb > Zn > Cd for non-carcinogenic health risks and Ni > Cr ≫ Cd > As > Pb for carcinogenic health risks. The soil As non-cancer risk index for children was greater than the permitted limits at 14 sites, and soil Ni and Cr posed the greatest carcinogenic risk to adults and children at many soil sites. The metals in peanut did not pose a non-carcinogenic risk according to standard. Peanut kernels had strong enrichment ability for Cd with an average bio-concentration factor (BCF) of 1.62. Soil metals contents and significant soil properties accounted for 35–74% of the variation in the BCF values of metals based on empirical prediction models. • Soil As and Cd had high ecological pollution risk, especially for As. • The Cd, Cr, Ni, and Cu contents exceeded the standard in several peanut kernel samples. • The soil As caused non-cancer risk index and soil Ni and Cr posed carcinogenic risk at some sites. • The metals in peanut did not pose a non-carcinogenic risk. • Soil metal contents and soil properties well predicted metal bio-concentration factor. Numerous early Paleozoic mafic–ultramafic intrusions that host important Ni-Cu sulfide mineralization occur in the northern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, NW China. The sulfide-bearing Shitoukengde Ni-Cu deposit, which is hosted in a ∼424 Ma mafic–ultramafic intrusion, is one of the most represent magmatic sulfide deposits in the East Kunlun Orogenic Belt. The intrusion is composed of a large gabbroic body, cut by lherzolite, olivine websterite, websterite, and minor dunite. Disseminated and net-textured sulfide mineralization occurs as lenses in the center and towards the bottom of the ultramafic bodies. The sulfide mineralization has variable sulfur contents of 0.3 to 13.6 wt% with Ni grade of 0.41 wt% on average, and low platinum-group element (PGE) concentrations (<8.2 ppb Ru and <11.9 ppb Pd). Pd and Ru tenors of bulk sulfides in the deposit are characterized by a positive correlation, indicating that PGE tenor variations are mainly controlled by varying R-factors (magma/sulfide mass ratio). The estimated PGE concentrations in the Shitoukengde magma are about three orders of magnitude lower than those in continental tholeiites. The significant PGE depletions in the Shitoukengde deposit may be due to sulfide removal in the magma conduit at depth. Our new sulfur isotope data reported range in δ34S values from −5.0 to 4.9‰ for the sulfide minerals of the Shitoukengde deposit, clearly distinct from those of mantle-derived sulfur (0 ± 2‰) and immediate country rocks (1.1 to 2.0‰). This, together with the modeling for S isotope variation as a function of R-factor, suggest that the current δ34S range is attributed to the addition of external sulfides with anomalous δ34S into the magma at depth, followed by progressive modification to crustal signature by uncontaminated pulses of magma. The ultramafic rocks exhibit low ε Nd (t) values (−4.71 to 2.12) and high (87Sr/86Sr) i ratios (0.7073 to 0.7130), which are more enriched relative to the isotopic compositions of depleted mantle. Mixing calculations indicate that about 15 to 20 wt% of lower crustal contamination plus variable upper crustal contamination is required to explain the variations of Sr-Nd isotopes in the Shitoukengde intrusion. Significant crustal contamination is also supported by the mineralization at Shitoukengde having high (187Os/188Os) i (0.24 to 4.51) and γ Os (t) values (0.24 to 2534) that are comparable to or higher than those of the important Ni-Cu deposits worldwide. Current results provide evidence that assimilation of crustal sulfur at deep crust and siliceous material with variable crustal contamination during magma ascent and emplacement played critical roles in the attainment of sulfide saturation in the parental magma and the formation of the Shitoukengde deposit. The Chagangnuoer deposit is a typical submarine volcanic rock-hosted skarn iron deposit, where orebodies mainly occur in andesitic rocks of the Dahalajunshan Formation (DF) with skarns well developed around orebodies. The volcanic rocks of the DF in the Chagangnuoer deposit display calc-alkaline characteristics. The ore-bearing andesitic rocks have high Sr/Sr (0.7058-0.7117) and low ε( t) (−3.51 to 1.67). They probably formed through mixing of basaltic melts and the induced crustal melts. LA-ICP-MS U-Pb zircon ages of 250 and 305 Ma are obtained for the granite and granodiorite in the Chagangnuoer deposit, respectively, which are significantly younger than the timing of the skarn formation (316 Ma). These age data indicate that the granitoids have no contribution to the skarn and associated iron mineralization. This paper proposes a new genetic model for submarine volcanic rock-hosted skarn iron deposits, in which the iron mineralization, skarn formation and volcanic magmatism are necessary aspects of the same system; the iron separates and concentrates from the silicate magma in the form of Fe(II) carbonate complex. While this conceptual model is largely based on observations on the Chagangnuoer deposit, it may have general significance for skarn-type iron deposits associated with submarine volcanic rock sequences and warrants further testing and improvement. Background and Objectives: The efficacy and safety of a lower target dose of sacubitril/valsartan (angiotensin receptor neprilysin inhibitor [ARNI]) for treating heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) in Chinese patients with moderate-to-severe chronic kidney disease (CKD) remain unknown. We performed a retrospective study to compare the efficacy of ARNI with that of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs)/angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) in patients with HFrEF and moderate-to-severe CKD. Methods: This retrospective study included 129 patients. An inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) analysis was performed to compare the baseline characteristics and outcomes between the 2 groups. The incidence of death due to cardiovascular disease, rehospitalization due to heart failure after treatment, and improvement in cardiac function symptoms (New York Heart Association [NYHA]) were assessed after 12 months. Improvements of ejection fraction (EF), N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) level, left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESD), and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD) were compared. Results: Compared with the ACEI/ARB group, the ARNI group, with 90.77% (59/65) in the lower target dose group, showed a lower rate of death due to cardiovascular disease (6.6% vs 0.9% after IPTW) and a lower incidence of rehospitalization (46.5% vs 30.4% after IPTW). NYHA class, estimated glomerular filtration rate, EF, NT-ProBNP levels, LVEDD, and LVESD improved in the ARNI group. None of the patients withdrew from treatment because of adverse drug reactions. Immunochromatographic (IC) assays are considered suitable diagnostic tools for the determination of mycotoxins. A europium nanospheres-based time-resolved fluorescence immunoassay (Eu-Nano-TRFIA), based on a monoclonal antibody and a portable TRFIA reader, was developed to determine total aflatoxin (including aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, and G2) levels in feed samples. Under optimized conditions, the Eu-Nano-TRFIA method detected total aflatoxin within 12 min. It showed good linearity (R(2) > 0.985), LOD of 0.16 μg/kg, a wide dynamic range of 0.48-30.0 μg/kg, recovery rates of 83.9-113.9%, and coefficients of variation (CVs) of 3.5-8.8%. In the 397 samples from company and livestock farms throughout China, the detection rate was 78.3%, concentrations were 0.50-145.30 μg/kg, the highest total aflatoxin content was found in cottonseed meal, and corn was found to be the most commonly contaminated feed. This method could be a powerful alternative for the rapid and ultrasensitive determination of total aflatoxin in quality control and meet the required Chinese maximum residue limits.

Based on the 2983 peanut samples from 122 counties in six provinces of China's Yangtze River ecological region collected between 2009-2014, along with the dietary consumption data in Chinese resident nutrition and health survey reports from 2002 and 2004, dietary aflatoxin exposure and percentiles in the corresponding statistics were calculated by non-parametric probability assessment, Monte Carlo simulation and bootstrap sampling methods. Average climatic conditions in the Yangtze River ecological region were calculated based on the data from 118 weather stations via the Thiessen polygon method. The survey results found that the aflatoxin contamination of peanuts was significantly high in 2013. The determination coefficient (R²) of multiple regression reflected by the aflatoxin B₁ content with average precipitation and mean temperature in different periods showed that climatic conditions one month before harvest had the strongest impact on aflatoxin B₁ contamination, and that Hunan and Jiangxi provinces were greatly influenced. The simulated mean aflatoxin B₁ intake from peanuts at the mean peanut consumption level was 0.777-0.790 and 0.343-0.349 ng/(kg·d) for children aged 2-6 and standard adults respectively. Moreover, the evaluated cancer risks were 0.024 and 0.011/(100,000 persons·year) respectively, generally less than China's current liver cancer incidence of 24.6 cases/(100,000 persons·year). In general, the dietary risk caused by peanut production and harvest was low. Further studies would focus on the impacts of peanut circulation and storage on aflatoxin B₁ contamination risk assessment in order to protect peanut consumers' safety and boost international trade.

Toxoplasma gondii is an important protozoan parasite that can infect virtually all warm-blooded animals, including humans. Oocysts in the environment are an important infection source. Microtus fortis can be used as a sentinel reflecting the distribution of T. gondii oocysts in the environment indirectly. In the present study, we developed a seminested polymerase chain reaction (PCR) targeting T. gondii 529-base-pair repeat sequence, with high sensitivity and specificity. Two hundred seventy-two free-living M. fortis were collected from Jilin Province, Northeastern China, and the lung samples were examined for T. gondii DNA by seminested PCR. Toxoplasma gondii DNA was found in 137 (50.4%) of these rodents. The high prevalence of T. gondii infection in free-living M. fortis suggests a wide distribution of T. gondii oocysts and a high infection pressure for humans and other animals.
