Treatment options for rare tumors are limited, and comprehensive genomic profiling may provide useful information for novel treatment strategies and improving outcomes. The aim of this study is to explore the treatment opportunities of patients with rare tumors using immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) that have already been approved for routine treatment of common tumors. We collected immunotherapy-related indicators data from a total of 852 rare tumor patients from across China, including 136 programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-L1) expression, 821 tumors mutational burden (TMB), 705 microsatellite instability (MSI) and 355 human leukocyte antigen class I (HLA-I) heterozygosity reports. We calculated the positive rates of these indicators and analyzed the consistency relationship between TMB and PD-L1, TMB and MSI, and HLA-I and PD-L1. The prevalence of PD-L1 positive, TMB-H, MSI-, and HLA-I -heterozygous was 47.8%, 15.5%, 7.4%, and 78.9%, respectively. The consistency ratio of TMB and PD-L1, TMB and MSI, and HLA-I and PD-L1 was 54.8% (78/135), 87.3% (598/685), and 47.4% (54/114), respectively. The prevalence of the four indicators varied widely across tumors systems and subtypes. The probability that neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and biliary tumors may benefit from immunotherapy is high, since the proportion of TMB-H is as high as 50% and 25.4% respectively. The rates of PD-L1 positivity, TMB-H and MSI-H in carcinoma of unknown primary (CUP) were relatively high, while the rates of TMB-H and MSI-H in soft tissue tumors were both relatively low. Our study revealed the distribution of immunotherapeutic indicators in patients with rare tumors in China. Ovarian cancer is one of the most common gynecological malignancies in women worldwide with a poor survival rate. We have previously reported that compound fuling granule (CFG), a traditional Chinese medicinal preparation used to treat ovarian cancer in China for over 20 years, significantly promotes cell cycle arrest, apoptosis, senescence, TGFβ-induced invasion and migration, tumor growth, and distant metastasis in ovarian cancer cells. However, the underlying mechanisms are not clear. In the present study, we found that PHF19 expression in ovarian cancer cells positively correlated with their resistance ability to CFG. In addition, PHF19 overexpression increased the resistance of HEY-T30 and SKOV3 cells to CFG, while knockdown of PHF19 enhanced their sensitivity to CFG. Moreover, CFG significantly inhibited the expression of PHF19 both in mRNA and protein levels in these cells. Gain of function and loss of function experiments further proved that PHF19 is a crucial mediator involved in the ovarian cancer progression, including cell proliferation, invasion, migration, and stemness. Importantly, rescue the expression of PHF19 reverted CFG-induced suppression in ovarian cancer cell growth, EMT and stemness, while PHF19 knockdown accelerated CFG's anti-tumor effect. Long-term reliance on herbicide weed control has led to resistance evolution in Eleusine indica in sugarcane fields of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. Ninety-six E. indica lines were collected from this region, and their response was tested to six herbicides: glyphosate; glufosinate; PSII-inhibitors diuron and atrazine; and PSI inhibitors paraquat and diquat. Target-site resistance mechanisms were examined in specific lines with multiple resistance to three herbicide modes of action. Of 96 E. indica lines, 51, 26, and 24 lines had resistance to diuron, atrazine, and diquat, respectively, while 14 and 9 had resistance to paraquat and glyphosate. Among 25 lines tested with multiple resistance, 7 lines exhibited resistance to three herbicide modes of action. In two multiple resistant lines (GXER2, GXER5), amplification/over-expression/mutations of the EPSPS gene contributed to the very high-level (up to 109-fold) glyphosate resistance. No target-site mutations/over-expression were identified in the psbA gene in these two lines, so non-target-site resistance mechanisms were likely responsible for the low-level (3-fold) resistance to the PSII herbicides diuron and atrazine. A high-level (23-fold) of paraquat resistance was observed in GXER5, and a low-level (5-fold) paraquat resistance was found in GXER2. Multiple herbicide resistance in E. indica has evolved in sugarcane fields of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region with diverse resistance mechanisms. • We investigate the impacts of trade liberalization on haze pollution in this study. • The evolution of the relationship between trade liberalization and haze pollution is analyzed based on VAR model. • It is observed that trade liberalization has significantly reduced haze pollution with alternative econometric techniques. • The mediation effect method is employed to explore the impact channels. • Policy recommendations for haze management are proposed. This paper investigates the impacts of trade liberalization on haze pollution using the panel data for 279 Chinese prefecture-level cities during 2007–2016. The relationship of trade liberalization and haze pollution in China was firstly analyzed by using the impulse response function and forecast-error variance decomposition method based on a bivariate vector autoregression model. The results show that trade liberalization is negatively correlated with haze pollution, and the contribution of trade liberalization to the variance of haze pollution exceeds 70% over time. The impact of trade liberalization on haze pollution is further examined applying the two-way fixed effect methods and spatial lag models, concluding that the liberalization of trade has significantly reduced haze pollution. Through mediation effect method, we have found that the haze reduction effect of trade liberalization lies in that the positive influence of technology effect on reducing haze pollution has exceeded the negative influence of scale effect and composition effect on increasing haze pollution. Therefore, in general, trade liberalization has remarkably mitigated haze pollution. Community types, phenology and propagation characteristics of Taxus mairei in north Guangdong were studied. The results showed that in north Guangdong province, Taxus mairei mainly distributed in the typical ever-green broad-leaf forest of lower and mid-subtropics dispersedly. Terminal bud of Taxus mairei was formed in late October and begun to grow foliages in mid-April, male flower bud was appeared in mid-May and the efflorescence was from late July to late November, female flower bud was formed in late August and the efflorescence was from late October to late January of second year, and the fruit mature period was in early October of second year. Under natural condition, the seed germination needed 2-3 years. Under experimental condition, the germination rate could be up to 82.2%. The effect of cuttage was better by taking mature annual twig and pretreatment by ABT1(100 mg.L-1) from October to November every year, and the rooting rate could be up to 95%.
