Purpose: Mesenteric panniculitis (MP) represents the uncommon, benign and chronic inflammatory disorder affecting the mesenteric adipose tissues. Its etiology, diagnosis and treatment remain unnoticed. Our report focused on shedding more lights on this condition. Patients and methods: Seventeen MP patients were identified by searching the electronic medical record system in the Zhengzhou Ninth People's Hospital using the search terms "Mesenteric panniculitis" from October 2015 to March 2023. All cases were diagnosed with MP through computed tomography (CT). Their clinical features and treatments were analyzed. Results: There were altogether 17 cases enrolled for this analysis. The male to female ratio was 8:9, and the median age at diagnosis was 64 (range: 37–96) years. There were 15 patients (88.2%) showing abdominal pain to varying degrees. The proportions of symptoms of nausea, vomiting and fever were 23.5%, 23.5% and 41.2%, respectively. Neoplastic disease was present in 3 patients (17.6%). Meanwhile, 9 patients (52.9%) had gallstones, 3 (17.6%) had cholecystitis and 1 (5.9%) had gallbladder polyps. Six patients (35.3%) received antibiotics treatment only and 1 (5.9%) received oral antibiotics and prednisone. One patient (5.9%) received antibiotics followed by prednisone treatment, because the symptoms were significantly relieved after antibiotic treatment, while the disease recurred soon after, and the symptoms improved again after prednisone treatment. The abdominal pain in 9 patients (52.9%) was relieved spontaneously. Two patients (11.8%) died, including one due to respiratory failure caused by pneumonia and the other one because of pancreatic cancer with lung and liver metastases. Conclusion: MP is a poorly understood chronic inflammatory disease. Patients often have abdominal pain as the main symptom, accompanied by comorbidities in the gallbladder, and the prognosis is usually good after correct diagnosis and treatment, Therefore, the present report aims to promote the awareness among clinicians of patients with non-classic abdominal symptoms, so as to avoid misdiagnosis or missed diagnosis. Previous scientific research on reservoirs of the Deng IV Member in the Gaoshiti-Moxi area, the main production area of the Anyue gas field with reserves of tens of billions of cubic metres, has focused on karst palaeogeomorphology reconstruction, the facies distribution on platform margins, and their effects on creating favourable reservoirs. However, the quality of microbial carbonate reservoirs is also closely related to their original depositional environments on both inner and marginal platforms. Therefore, this paper attempts to reveal favourable microbial carbonate reservoir characteristics and the sedimentary effects on their distribution and prediction based predominantly on a synthetic analysis of the sequence stratigraphy and depositional facies. The results show that favourable reservoirs of the Deng IV Member are classified into three types according to their reservoir spaces: fracture-cavity, pore-cavity and pore reservoirs. Secondary dissolution pores and cavities are primary reservoir spaces developed mainly in nonskeletal grain dolomites with sparry cements, thrombolites, and stromatolites. The physical properties of the fracture-cavity and pore-cavity types of reservoirs are better than those of pore reservoirs and have porosities between 1 and 5% and permeabilities between 0.01 × 10–3 and 1 × 10–3 μm2. Vertically, favourable reservoirs are developed mainly in parasequence set 6 (PSS6) and PSS7 and are laterally distributed in well zone MX9-MX19-MX1 for the fracture-cavity type, MX105-MX110-GS20 for the pore-cavity type and MX17-MX107-MX41-MX102-GS102 for the pore type. Moreover, depositional effects on reservoirs in terms of depositional sequences, seismic facies, microfacies and microfacies associations indicate that to some extent, the fracture-cavity type of reservoir is constrained by the top boundaries of PSS7, PSS2, parasequence 17 (PS17) and PS14; the pore-cavity type of reservoir is constrained by the top boundaries of PSS7, PSS4, PS18 and PS12; and the pore type of reservoir is constrained by the top boundaries of PSS7, PSS6, PSS3, PSS2, PS18, PS17, PS14, and PS12. Seismic facies associated with shoals and mound-flat complexes are related to the facies distributions of pore cavities and pore reservoirs. MA1, MA3, MA7, and MA8 are predominant microfacies associations of favourable reservoirs of the Deng IV Member in the Gaoshiti-Moxi area. Considering the importance of soil moisture in hydrological processes, it is crucial to understand the water distribution and time stability of different aerial shrub soils. There are few studies on the soil moisture of aerial vegetation in the northeastern margin of the Tengger Desert. Based on long-term monitoring data from the aerial seeding area in the northeastern margin of the Tengger Desert, the distribution characteristics of soil moisture and the temporal stability of soil moisture were studied. From June to October 2022, the soil moisture monitoring instrument WatchDog was used to monitor the long-term soil moisture changes (0–200 cm) in the four aerial afforestation plots of Hedysarum scoparium, mixed forest land (Hedysarum scoparium dominant species), mixed forest land (Calligonum mongolicum dominant species), and Calligonum mongolicum. The Spearman rank correlation coefficient was used to study the temporal stability of soil moisture in the four plots. Rainfall data were collected through small weather stations. The results show that the average soil water storage of four kinds of aerial shrub land in the study area was the highest in August, and the average soil water storage of different forest lands was different. The soil water content of the surface layer (0–30 cm) fluctuated the most in different months. The variation in soil water content in the shallow layer (30–100 cm) was smaller than that in the surface layer. The fluctuation of soil water content in the middle layer (100–150 cm) and deep layer (150–200 cm) was relatively stable. There was no strong variability in soil moisture content, and the temporal variation coefficient of surface soil moisture was the highest (31.44–39.8%), which showed moderate variability. The temporal variation coefficient of soil moisture in the shallow, middle and deep layers of all kinds of plots was significantly reduced, and the soil moisture stability of different aerial shrub land was the same. Spearman rank correlation analysis showed that the spatial pattern of soil water content in the surface layer (0–30 cm) and deep layer (150–200 cm) was more stable over time, that is, the temporal stability of soil water content was higher, and the temporal stability of soil water content in the middle and shallow layers of different types of shrub land was different. The research results help us to understand the soil hydrological process in the aerial seeding afforestation area in the northeastern margin of Tengger Desert, rationally arrange soil moisture monitoring points, efficiently manage and utilize water resources in the aerial seeding area, and provide a theoretical basis for local vegetation restoration and the optimization of the ecological environment. The proposal of "double carbon" goal increases the pressure of power structure transformation. This paper sets up two scenarios according to the timing progress of realizing the "double carbon" goal and explores the transformation planning schemes of China's power structure. The conclusions are as follows: (1) Technological progress and policy support will greatly reduce the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) of onshore wind power, offshore wind power, photovoltaic power, and photothermal power. The rapid rise in carbon price will lead to the LCOE of coal power in 2060 rising to 2 CNY/kWh. (2) The power consumption of the whole society in the baseline scenario can reach 17,000 TWh in 2060. In the acceleration scenario, this value may triple that in 2020 to 21,550 TWh. (3) The acceleration scenario will pay more newly added power costs and coal power stranded scale than the baseline scenario but can achieve carbon peak and negative emissions earlier. (4) More attention should be paid to the flexible level of power system, improve the allocation proportion and requirements of new energy storage on the power supply side, help the steady exit of coal power, and ensure the safety of low-carbon transformation of power structure. This study aimed to explore the role of cytokines on the progression of liver fibrosis in mice infected with E. multilocularis. Methods: Liver histopathological features at 2, 8, 30, 90 and 180 d were quantified by inflammatory severity score. The expression levels of inflammatory cytokines, fibrosis-related cytokines and hepatic cell apoptosis were measured using qRT-PCR and immunohistochemistry. Results: At the early stage of infection, parasite stimulation triggers the rapid recruitment of immune cells, such as macrophages and neutrophils. These infiltrated immune cells then produce a large number of cytokines, such as iNOS (inducible nitric oxide synthase), a pro-inflammatory cytokine; TGF-β (transforming growth factor) activated HSCs (hepatic stellate cells) to promote the proliferation of fibroblasts and secretion of ECM (extracellular matrix); MMP9 (matrix metalloproteinase 9) degraded basal ECM and facilitated its replacement by a highly dense interstitial matrix. At the middle and late stages of infection, the expression of IL-10 (interleukin-10) with general inhibitory effect was increased. The imbalance of fiber formation and degradation aggravated liver fibrosis. Meanwhile, the whole process of E. multilocularis infection was accompanied by the necrosis and apoptosis of hepatic cells. Conclusion: Along with the expansion of parasitic infection, dynamic changes in cytokine expression were observed on the liver fibrosis progression, which is helpful to provide some new ideas for the prevention and treatment of liver fibrosis in mice infected with E. multilocularis. Trapped ancient microorganisms in halite fluid inclusions are of special interest to the understanding of biology and ecology in salt lake systems. With the integration of petrologic, microthermometric, and Raman spectroscopic analyses, this study utilizes fluid inclusions from Chaka Salt Lake, eastern Qaidam Basin, NW China, to assess the possibility of microorganism‐trapping by fluid inclusions. Here, we report that the solid phase of some primary fluid inclusions contains carotenoids, which is interpreted as evidence of Dunaliella algae, and that the coexisting liquid phase comprises SO42‐. The homogenization temperatures of single‐phase primary fluid inclusions indicate that the precipitation temperature of the Holocene halite in Chaka Salt Lake ranges from 13.5°C to 36.4°C. This suggests that fluid inclusions in halite are a good medium for trapping and preserving ancient microorganisms and organic matter in salt lakes, and that Raman spectroscopy has good potential to identify halophilic archaea. The purpose of the paper is to analyse the influencing factors on farmers’ willingness of withdrawal from rural homesteads (WRH). Methods that included field surveys, factor analyses and case studies were used for this paper. The results show that farmers have a strong willingness to own the property on which their homesteads sit. There are deviations between homestead systems and execution. It is common that the area of a homestead exceeds the lawful standard, and one peasant family owns two or more homesteads. Peasant families have many concerns about WRH, which include: reduction of employment, lack of supporting social security, high expenditure of new houses, low compensation criteria for homesteads, decline in standard of living and inconvenience in agricultural production. Among all means of compensation, peasants prefer allocated residences, and they pay more attention to public service facilities and fundamental facilities. The authors argue that implementing employment and social security policies and setting up linkage mechanisms of WRH could help to smoothly push forward WRH. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A continuous, 545 m thick carbonate succession through the Darriwilian Bei'anzhuang and Machiakou (Majiagou) formations in the Tao-112 drillcore in the Ordos Basin, North China was sampled for an integrated study of conodont biostratigraphy (48 samples) and carbon isotope chemostratigraphy (510 samples). Two internationally correlatable conodont biozones were recognized in the drillcore, namely the Histiodella holodentata - Tangshanodus tangshanensis Biozone and the Plectodina onychodonta Biozone in stratigraphically ascending order. Constrained by the conodont biostratigraphy, two carbon isotopic anomalies can be distinguished, including the short-term LDNICE (Lower Darriwilian Negative Isotopic Carbon Excursion) in the lower part of the Bei'anzhuang Formation, and the long-lasting MDICE (Middle Darriwilian Isotopic Carbon Excursion) spanning the upper part of the Bei'anzhuang Formation and much of the Machiakou Formation. Moreover, the present high-resolution carbon isotope record allows the recognition of two peaks of the MDICE, the stratigraphically lower, small peak MDICE-1 and the follow-up, long-lived peak MDICE-2. The Darriwilian carbon isotope excursions in North China can be comparable to the δ13C carb trends described in coeval successions in Baltoscandia, North America, South Korea, and other regions of China, suggesting their significance for global correlations and providing an integrated and high-resolution chemo-biostratigraphic framework for sedimentary records of Darriwilian age in North China. Based on widely accepted driving mechanisms of global carbon-cycle perturbations, here we put forth an inference on the climatic pattern of the Darriwilian that a short warm period causing the LDNICE in the early Darriwilian was followed in turn by a moderate global cooling event resulting in the MDICE during the middle and late Darriwilian. Carbon cycle processes of the Middle and Late Ordovician indicate that there was a clear pre-Hirnantian cooling step, with gradually enlarged alternating relative warmer and rather cooler interludes, culminating in the 'Hirnantian' ice age. • Two conodont biozones recognized in the Tao-112 drillcore are internationally correlatable. • The δ13C excursions distinguished in the drillcore are the LDNICE and the MDICE. • Two secondary peaks of the MDICE are worldwide stratigraphically valuable. • Darriwilian δ13C anomalies suggest a climatic pattern with a short warming prior to a long-term cooling. Bupleurum chinense DC. is a traditional medicinal herb species widely distributed in most provinces of China. In this study, we constructed and annotated a complete circular chloroplast (cp) genome of B. chinense. The cp genome of B. chinense is 155,545 bp in length, including two inverted repeat (IR) regions of 26,305 bp, separated by a large single-copy (LSC) region of 85,430 bp and a small single-copy (SSC) region of 17,505 bp. The GC content of whole cp genome is 37.68%. The genome contains 113 different genes, including 79 protein-coding genes, 30 tRNA genes, and 4 rRNA genes. A maximum-likelihood phylogenomic analysis showed that Bupleurum formed a monophyletic group, and was sister to other groups of Apiaceae. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

High-performance marine steel is essential for the marine industry worldwide. L907A low-alloy marine steel was developed by China independently and is now widely used in ship construction. In this study, the plasticity and ductile fracture behavior of L907A steel under various stress states are systematically investigated by experiments, mechanical modeling, and numerical simulations. Through the use of different microscopic methods, the initial microstructure of the material is well characterized. The constituent phases and grain morphologies of L907A introduce a good combination of strength and ductility and exhibit isotropic in-plane features. Specimens with various geometries are designed and tested to characterize the mechanical response of the L907A steel under various stress states ranging from tension to shear. The isotropic von Mises yield function with mixed Swift-Voce hardening law is used to characterize large deformation, while fracture initiation under various stress states is described by the Hosford-Coulomb model. A new parameter identification method, which combines hybrid numerical-experimental approach with simulated annealing optimization algorithm, is proposed to obtain the globally optimal model parameters. It is demonstrated that the calibrated model can predict the plasticity and fracture behavior of L907A with great accuracy. Finally, the mechanical performance of L907A is compared with competing marine steels (e.g., DH36 steel and EH36 steel). Results indicate that the yield stress of L907A is close to DH36 and higher than EH36, but its average strain hardening rate is lower than DH36 and close to EH36; the ductility of L907A is close to DH36 but worse than EH36. Carbon control in the thermal power generation industry is crucial for achieving the overall carbon peak target. How to predict, evaluate, and balance the allocation of inter provincial carbon emissions has a significant impact on the decision-making of reasonable allocation of inter provincial carbon emissions in the target year. Therefore, this paper uses Monte Carlo-ARIMA-BP neural network and ZSG-DEA model to conduct temporal trend prediction and carbon emission quota allocation research. We propose the "intra provincial and inter provincial" framework for carbon emissions trading in thermal power plants, which aims to break through the barriers in carbon emission rights exchange among provinces. The conclusions are as follows: (1) the growth trend of carbon emissions from thermal power is gradually slowing down and is expected to peak before 2030. (2) Inner Mongolia, Jiangsu, and Shandong have high input-output efficiency, and are all the main output provinces for carbon emission quota allocation. After being adjusted using the ZSG-DEA model, they can still be at the forefront of efficiency. (3) The "intra provincial and inter provincial" framework for carbon emissions trading can effectively predict and allocate the carbon emission demand of each province from time and space dimensions, balance the carbon emission rights and interests of each province, and provide forward-looking planning suggestions for inter provincial carbon emission rights exchange., (© 2023. Background: A novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV2) outbreak in more than 200 countries recently caused viral pneumonia that was extremely infectious and pathogenic. The Chinese government proposes that both Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Western medicine can be used in combination to treat pneumonia caused by SARS-CoV2, and TCM effectively provides continuous prevention and treatment., Methods: The present review analyzes and summarizes the prevention and treatment of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) with TCM. A classified analysis of the efficacy and advantages of TCM for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 was performed, and the mechanisms of TCM in treating COVID-19 are summarized., Results: TCM is effective in preventing COVID-19, and medical staff can prevent an iatrogenic infection by taking a decoction made based on the principles of TCM. As of March 13, 2020, new cases of COVID-19 in China have decreased in number to single digits. TCM's curative effect was outstanding, with a national participation rate of over 90%. More than 70,000 people were cured of COVID-19 and discharged from the hospital. Only approximately 10,000 patients are currently being treated, and the total treatment time is approximately 2 months., Conclusions: TCM is currently the best choice for the treatment and prevention of COVID-19, and it is expected that it will be promoted by countries around the world., (Copyright © 2020.
