Abstract: The article discusses research which was conducted to investigate changes in creatine kinase (CK) and cortisol in national Collegiate Athletic Association division I American football players during a playing season. Researchers evaluated 22 players. They found that no significant changes in CK concentrations were observed over the season and that no changes in serum cortisol concentrations were observed.

Abstract: The author discusses a study "Interleukin-6 responses to water immersion therapy after acute exercise heat stress: A Pilot Investigation," by Melinda Williams and colleagues. The results revealed that Whole-body cooling rates were greater in the cold water-bath condition as compared to warm and cold water-bath conditions. It concluded that cold water immersion related to IL-6 increased from post exercise values compared to warmer water-bath temperature, which hampered this increase.
