The quality of Chalons and Parada reservoirs was determined through physical chemical and microbiological parameters, taking as reference the obligatory and complementary indexes of the Cuban Standards related with main uses of water. For the analysis, 5 sampling points were selected in each reservoir, in March, May, September and November between 2011-2015. The determinations were made in situ and in laboratory, according to the current regulations. The totals Coliforms and fecal Coliforms were determined by the most probable number method (MPN/100 mL). The results concluded that the water quality of the reservoirs studied, from the physical chemical point of view, is adequate since all the parameters are within the levels regulated by the Cuban water standards. However, both reservoirs, according to these parameters, can be classified as eutrophic, which can compromise its quality from the microbiological point of view. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The producer of oils and greases can cause negative impact to the territory of Santiago de Cuba. Therefore, this study had aimed to assess the impact that causes the company to the territory, for which the environmental assessment based on the description of the organization, supported scheme of entries and exits the process was conducted, which allowed the identification and evaluation environmental aspects, which served as the basis for establishing monitoring stations. Wastewater, air emissions and soil were characterized. Subsequently impact assessment was determined by environmental matrices, which indicate pollution sensitive points. A reflection is done concerning the feminine identities in the Cuban context, particularly in the Oriental region, based on the experiences as result of the realization of womens group as methodological proposal for the studies their identities, assuming as axes the contradictions and developments of the autonomy, the corporeity and climacteric in professionals, and about feelings, discomfort and emergency of change in the gender condition in country womens. Emerging in all the cases the transitional and contradictory character of their identities and the social imaginary significations on which they are supported that are explained for the possibilities of the Social Cuban Project and the survival of myths, beliefs, customs and archaic practices, establish as implicit codes that regulate the duty to be and circulate almost in unconscious manner in the societies.
