The authors highlight the results of their study on the effects of meningococcal vaccine VA-MENGOC-BC on the prevalence of Neisseria meningitidis gonorrhoeae in Cuba from 1979 to 1999. Cases of gonorrhoeae caused by serogroups C and A have reduced after vaccination of people below 20 years old. A decrease in cases was noted immediately after the serogroups BC vaccination of people three months to 19 years old from December 1988 to December 1990. Its administration in infants three and five months old since 1991 has reduced mortality by more than 98%.
