Radioarte is the producer of radio dramas in Cuba and distributes them to stations that do not produce this type of programs. To show this production process as a concrete manifestation of the cultural industry, based on the explanation of its regularities, is the objective of this article. The Cuban context imprints particularities on this creative process from its essence as a society that builds socialism and is in full update of its economic model, without forgetting aspects such as information and communication. The objective of this investigation is to provide elements that can contribute to the analysis and appreciation of the importance the cultural industry has, taking as an objective of the study the cultural heritage with a touristic approach, in relation to the economic, social and cultural development of Latin America and Cuba and the necessary diversification of the touristic area. The information is shown on the compared matrix of the cultural indicators, which are proposed on the methodological manual for the implementation on the Cultural Satellite Accounts and its application on the eleven country members of the «Andrés Bello agreement» in which Cuba is included. The proposed indicators made available by the Tourism Yearbook, which includes the information provided by the Ministry of Tourism from the eleven countries that are part of the «Andrés Bello agreement», were taken as a reference as well as economic indicators that take into account the Tourism and Cultural Satellite Accounts. It has been determined that the cultural industry and the cultural heritage in the country members do not have similar indicators for their registration and analysis; due to this it is complicated to measure the contribution of the cultural sector to the tourism area with the view to maximize the diversification of the latter. Books production in Cuba is highly acknowledged within the Revolution's cultural policy framework, for it is considered a leading support of the educational programs and the formation of a critical reader, a goal pursuant with the aims of building a socialist society. In a domestic context, characterized by transformation in economic activity and organization, the production of goods and cultural services -books, among them- should also transform themselves, regarding the principles associated with the updating process of the Cuban economic model. Cuban publishing industry, greatly subsidized by the Cuban State, needs to operate with higher levels of rationality and efficiency in its productive and distribution processes. Beginning with a brief recount of Cuban publishing industry development, the present article characterizes its present performance and identifies the leading difficulties preventing a better economic development.
