The article discusses how the DeKalb County Juvenile Court is using radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to obtain prompt and reliable access to information for appropriate judicial decision making. The DeKalb County Juvenile Court is the second-largest juvenile court in the state of Georgia. Its mission is to restore and redirect, as law-abiding citizens, children who have admitted to or been found in violation of the law, while protecting the best interests of each child and the community, leaving the children in their homes when possible. RFID is a wireless tracking system that uses radio frequency transmissions to convey data between a portable device and a personal computer. RFID is widely discussed in the corporate press, primarily as a retail-based technology.
