Background: Pedi‐IKDC is commonly used to evaluate anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) deficiency in children. However, its construct validity has not been thoroughly assessed. The aim was to examine the measurement properties of the Pediatric International Knee Documentation Committee (Pedi‐IKDC) by modern test theory (MTT) models, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and item response theory (IRT). Methods: The cohort consisted of all children and adolescents in Denmark (n = 535, age 9–16) treated with physeal‐sparing ACL reconstruction 2011–2020. Patient‐reported outcome measure (PROM) data were collected before surgery and at 1 year follow‐up. Structural validity of Pedi‐IKDC was assessed with MTT models. Reliability was reported as McDonalds coefficient omega. Responsiveness was evaluated with standardized response means. Results: Sufficient PROM data were available for 372 patients. The original unidimensional construct did not fit CFA model expectations neither before surgery (χ2 = 462.0, df = 163, p < 0.0001; RMSEA: 0.109, CFI: 0.910, TFI: 0.895) nor at follow‐up. Neither did a two‐factor CFA model with "Symptoms" and "Sports activities" as individual subscales (χ2 = 455.6, df = 162, p < 0.0001) nor a bifactor model (χ2 = 338.9, df = 143, p < 0.0001), although fit indices improved with the latter (RMSEA: 0.094, CFI: 0.941, TFI: 0.922). The IRT models confirmed this pattern. The scale was responsive (SRM 1.66 (95% CI: 1.46–1.88)). Coefficient omega values were 0.866 before surgery and 0.919 at follow‐up. Conclusions: The Pedi‐IKDC exhibited inadequate structural validity. Neither the original construct, a two‐factor model, nor bifactor models fitted data well. We advise that data obtained by Pedi‐IKDC are interpreted with caution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: The Pain Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (PSEQ) is a widely used patient-reported outcome measure designed to assess the level of pain self-efficacy in patients with low back pain (LBP). Although the PSEQ has been translated into Danish, its measurement properties remain unknown in patients with subacute and chronic LBP in Danish outpatient clinics. The aim of this study was to investigate the construct validity, internal consistency, test-retest reliability, and measurement error of the Danish version of the PSEQ in a group of Danish patients with subacute and chronic LBP in a hospital outpatient setting., Methods: Patients with LBP referred to two Danish outpatient clinics were recruited for this study. Two days after the consultation, the participants were emailed a link to a survey that included the following outcome measures: the PSEQ, the Oswestry Disability Index, the Numeric Pain Rating Scale, and the Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia. Five days after completion of the survey, a new survey that included the PSEQ was sent to the participants., Results: In total, 109 participants were included for the analysis of construct validity and internal consistency, with 94 participants included for the analysis of test-retest reliability and measurement error. Construct validity was found to be high and internal consistency was acceptable, with Cronbach's alpha = 0.93 (95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.91-0.93). Test-retest reliability was found to be good, with an intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC 2.1 ) of 0.89 (95% CI = 0.82-0.92). The standard error of measurement was calculated to be 4.52 and the smallest detectable change was 12.5 points., Conclusions: The Danish version of the PSEQ showed acceptable measurement properties in terms of construct validity, internal consistency, and test-retest reliability in a group of patients with subacute and chronic LBP. To translate and cross-culturally adapt the ABILHAND-Kids questionnaire into Danish and assess its psychometric properties in children with cerebral palsy (CP). A Danish version of the parent-reported ABILHAND-Kids questionnaire was created through a standardized translation process. Dimensionality (confirmatory factor analysis), reliability, smallest detectable change, floor and ceiling effects, and Rasch analysis were carried out. One-hundred-and-fifty children diagnosed with CP were included. No parent had difficulty completing the ABILHAND-Kids (DK). Psychometric testing demonstrated a unidimensional scale, excellent test-retest reliability (ICC2.1A = 0.97) and internal consistency (α = 0.96). A smallest detectable change of 5.15 points was considered acceptable. One item showed Differential Item Functioning, four pairs of items showed signs of local dependence and one item had disordered thresholds. Nevertheless, analyses did not lead to the removal of any items. Item thresholds covered most levels of person abilities. Lastly, 24.7% scored within measurement error at the ceiling of the scale, indicating that it was not possible to measure further improvement. ABILHAND-Kids (DK) seems to be a valid, reliable and comprehensive measurement scale to assess manual ability in children with CP. It can be used in goal setting and to inform future interventions and rehabilitation evaluation. Impaired hand function leads to limited participation in activities of everyday life in children with cerebral palsy. Adequate outcome measures of hand function are crucial for the planning and evaluation of interventions. The Danish version of ABILHAND-Kids is a valid and reliable measure of manual ability in children with cerebral palsy, and it can be used in clinical practice and for research purposes. Purpose: Many youth and adults with Cerebral Palsy (CP) experience high levels of fatigue. This study aimed to compare three fatigue self-report questionnaires to guide clinicians., Method: Thirty youth and adults (age range 17-64) with CP were assessed with Danish versions of the Fatigue Impact and Severity Self-Assessment questionnaire, the Modified Mental Fatigue Scale, and the Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory. Psychometric properties were investigated. Rank order and classification models were compared across questionnaires., Results: The Reduced Motivation and Physical Fatigue subscales of the Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory showed inadequate internal consistency. Participants were frequently ranked differently with the questionnaires. There were issues related to the conceptualization of physical fatigue., Conclusion: The choice of assessment tool should be based on assessment purpose as the questionnaires assess different aspects of fatigue severity, impact, and management. Also, test selection can have important implications on the conclusions that are made about fatigue type and severity.

Purpose: Patient-reported health-related quality of life is a complementary healthcare outcome and important when assessing treatment efficacy. Using COSMIN methodological recommendations, this study evaluates the validity and reliability of a core heart disease-specific health-related quality of life questionnaire, the HeartQoL questionnaire (Danish version) in a sample of patients following heart valve surgery., Design: This project involved a cross-sectional validity study and a test-retest reliability study., Methods: Eligible patients completed the HeartQoL, the SF-36 health survey questionnaire, and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale following heart valve surgery. Construct validity was tested using a priori hypotheses. Internal consistency reliability was assessed with Cronbach's alpha. An independent sample of patients participated in the test-retest study and reproducibility was determined with relative [intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC)] and absolute reliability [standard error of measurement (SEM) and smallest detectable change (SDC)]., Results: Internal consistency was high with Cronbach's alpha ≥ 0.87. ICC was 0.86-0.92. SEM ranged from 0.17 to 0.26 points and SDC ranged from 0.5 to 0.7 points. Construct validity was confirmed with 87% of all a priori hypotheses for predicted variables., Conclusions: The HeartQoL questionnaire demonstrates acceptable construct validity, internal consistency, and test-retest reproducibility in patients following heart valve surgery. Future studies should focus on assessing the responsiveness of the HeartQoL questionnaire over time and following heart valve surgery.
