The article presents a study that proposes a framework that will be used in automatic classification of plankton in East China Sea. The study is undertaken through the of Bayesian probabilistic model to develop a method of estimating posterior probability and predictive model for each automated classification. The results of the study show that naïve Bayesian classifier (NBC) achieves reasonable performance in its proposed role.
