It mentions the Cooper-Hewlett mercury discharge lighting system of 1902 and mercury lamp of 1860 developed by professor J. T. Way which were installed on Hungerford suspension bridge in Brunel, England. It states that General Electric Co. (GEC) demonstrated the first trial of its mercury lamp along East Lane road in Wembley, England on June 22, 1932.
