The article reports on the nomenclature update for factors of the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) system which has been submitted since July 2007 to the Nomenclature Committee in London, England. It was agreed to assign official allele designations to the new sequences with given accession number to each sequence which could be used to retrieve the sequence files from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), GenBank or DNA Data Bank of Japan (DDBJ) data libraries
