Reports in the literature have proposed and analyzed several minimally invasive techniques for caries removal in recent decades. In light of recent events surrounding the ongoing epidemiological context, concerns have been raised regarding the generation of aerosols during dental procedures. The aim of our research was to provide an overview of the scientific literature on the topic of chemo-mechanical caries removal (CMCR) methods, focusing on two products (Carisolv, BRIX3000), commercially available in Europe. A bibliometric analysis was used to investigate the scientific articles included in Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection database, published from January 2010 to December 2020. We analyzed the co-occurrence of all keywords (Author Keywords and the KeyWords Plus section), co-authorship and co-citation, using the free software VOSviewer. Our bibliometric analysis revealed a worldwide interest in the subject of chemo-mechanical methods of caries removal, which has transcended the area of pediatric dentistry. The analyzed studies have been conducted mainly in high-income countries that have developed sanitary policies regarding prevention and early treatment of carious lesions as a health priority. CONFERENCES & conventions ,HEALTH care teams ,PERITONITIS ,PROFESSIONAL associations - Abstract
Introduction: Peritonitis is still an important health problem associated with high morbidity and mortality. A multidisciplinary approach to the management of patients with peritonitis may be an important factor to reduce the risks for patients and improve efficiency, outcome, and the cost of care. Methods: Expert panel discussion on Peritonitis was held in Bucharest on May 2017, during the 17th ECTES Congress, involving surgeons, infectious disease specialists, radiologists and intensivists with the goal of defining recommendations for the optimal management of peritonitis. Conclusion: This document is an updated presentation of management of peritonitis and represents the summary of the final recommendations approved by a panel of experts. PROSTATECTOMY , *GLEASON grading system , *PROSTATE-specific antigen , *PROSTATE cancer patients , *LIFE expectancy , *CASTRATION-resistant prostate cancer - Abstract
Prostate cancer is the second most common form of cancer in men in Europe. The primary treatment of this type of cancer is radical prostatectomy, which has shown good oncological results. Radical prostatectomy (open, laparoscopic or robotic) has high success and low morbidity rates in patients with localized prostate cancer. The life expectancy is >10 years after radical prostatectomy. Studies have shown that ~20%-30% of the patients who have undergone radical prostatectomy can develop biochemical recurrence, which is monitored by using the value of the prostate-specific antigen (PSA). In some cases (patients with high-risk prostate cancer), adjuvant therapy after radical prostatectomy, such as radiotherapy or androgen deprivation therapy, can significantly reduce the risk of biochemical recurrence. The optimal management of recurrent disease remains uncertain. Recent literature was systematically reviewed regarding the management of biochemical recurrence and to compare clinical experience in literature studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] more...

Introduction and Objectives. Renal clear cell carcinoma (RCC) represented approximately 3% of all cancers diagnosed in Europe between 2018 and 2021, constituting approximately 90% of all malignant kidney tumors, with an annual increase of 2% in the incidence of RCC both worldwide. The updated European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines recommend considering cytoreductive nephrectomy in patients who respond to initial immunotherapy (IO). The aim of this paper is to present the combination of immunotherapy and surgery in a RCC patient with venous thrombus, diagnosed in the metastatic stage. Materials and Methods. We present the case of a 43 years old male patient imagistically diagnosed with 115 mm right kidney tumor with thrombosis of the ipsilateral renal vein up to the level of the inferior vena cava with multiple bone and pulmonary metastases, cT N M . After ultrasound-guided renal biopsy revealed renal cell 3b 1 1 carcinoma Fuhramnn 2, the patient is referred to the Oncology department to initiate IO with nivolumab and ipilimumab, external radiotherapy with photons for the bone lesions, zolendronic acid and also anticoagulant treatment for the thrombotic extension. The main adverse effects of the IO were skin rash and autoimmune thyroiditis. Twenty four days after the final dose of the IO, cytoreductive nephrectomy, with lateral resection of the inferior vena cava, thrombectomy and lateral and retro-caval lymph node dissection through an anterior transperitoneal approach was performed, which was difficult due to the inflammation. Results. Histopathological examination revealed residual RCC, ypT, ypN and the imagistic procedures after 6 2a 0 months revealed an important reduction in size and number of the bone and pulmonary metastases. The therapeutic outcome of patients with mRCC have significantly improved with the molecular targeted agents, so prognostic models combining more independent factors have been developed to be more accurate than TNM stage or grade alone. More newly published studies talk about the difficulty increased surgery after immunotherapy due to the infiammatory reaction. The most common side effects of the IO are fatigue, skin toxicity, gastrointestinal toxicity and endocrinopathy, but although more than a half of patients experience treatment related toxicity, there are studies that support the fact that patients who experience severe adverse events, showed longer progression-free survival. Development of a novel risk score in order to find the optimal candidates for cytoreduction nephrectomy from the cohort of patients who can be classified as intermediate risk becomes of overwhelming importance. Conclusions. The present case supports the idea that deferred cytoreductive nephrectomy, has the potential to exert a therapeutic effect in patients who obtain favorable response to IO for a certain period of time, but there must be taken in consideration the side effects of the IO and the increased difficulty of the surgery. Prospective randomized clinical trials are needed to confirm the prognostic impact of deferred nephrectomy in metastatic renal cell carcinoma after front line immunotherapy. INFORMATION technology ,MODERN society ,CYBERSPACE ,INTERNET - Abstract
For the first time the age of information technology raises the issue of legal distinction between a document and its support, especially when the support of the document could be an electronic one. Modern society confronts itself with a significant transition from the legal act fixed on paper to the information stored electronically. Both at a European level as well as at a national one the creation of a legal framework for electronic signatures was pursued with the purpose of facilitating the use of electronic signatures and contribute to their recognition, as well as to drawing up contracts by electronic means. TELEMEDICINE , *MEDICAL personnel as patients , *DATA transmission systems , *RURAL geography - Abstract
Telemedicine ensures remote medical services through technologies that facilitate the interaction between a health professional and patients and offers the possibility of a interdiciplinary consultation between specialists, in order to obtain a diagnosis and treatment plan. It involves secure transmission of medical data and information, through text, sound, images or other forms needed for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients. With the help of telemedicine, people from rural areas, with difi cult access to primary care, and those with reduced mobility can benefi t from healthcare services. This paper is a review of the latest data available in the literature regarding telemedicine and the future prespectives in this fi eld in Europe. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] more...
