Abstract

The article discusses a study of a large, population-based cohort in Finland to replicate the association of common genetic variants with QT interval, confirm the relationship between QT interval and sudden cardiac death (SCD) and explore the association between a score reflecting the joint influence of the variants and risk of SCD. It strongly replicates the association between common genetic variants and the QT interval and suggests a relationship between said variants in aggregate and SCD.
