This article aims to know the food universe of the Azorean-Catarinense represented by Cascaes in O Fantástico na Ilha de Santa Catarina. In the midst of a witchcraft-inspired imaginary, the book presents accounts of the lifestyle habits and cultural manifestations of that people during that time. Both literature and food processes can act as instruments of recognition and reinforcement of identities and construction of cultural heritages. Thus, the importance and richness of Cascaes' literature in the study of food practices and identities were identified, building individual and collective affective memory that consolidates the culinary traditions of the Azorean-Catarinenses.
