The article discusses the adverse industrial effects of the cold wave which hit Florida in 1958. It says that the cold weather resulted to the destruction of an estimated 70% of Dade County farm's midwinter vegetable crop which also led to crop price rises. It tells that due to malnutrition and soggy pastures, several cattle died and cattlemen feared that deaths could reach 270,000. It adds that several hotels reported 20% to 30% business decline despite their steam heat offerings.
