The Centre de Référence sur les Agents Tératogènes (CRAT) is a unique French national reference center involved in the risk assessment of exogenous agents (mainly drugs, but also medical imaging and addictions) on pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility. To help improve patient care, CRAT makes its expertise available to healthcare professionals via its website (www.lecrat.fr), a free, independent and public online resource regularly updated by its multidisciplinary team. In December 2023, a new version was launched, based on the evolutions desired by the CRAT team and on a satisfaction survey of website's users. A predictive search bar integrated into the home page now enables users to find the specific information they are looking for more quickly. Elective female fertility preservation is authorized in France since 2021, August. Oocyte cryopreservation to prevent age fertility declined can be performed from 29 to 37 years old and is reimbursed by social security. Mostly, women are single and wait for their career or for a partner to build their family. Its success rate depends on age and number of cryopreserved oocytes. In preparation for a new version of the CRAT (Centre de référence sur les agents tératogènes) website, an evaluation of user satisfaction was carried out. An invitation to complete an online questionnaire covering the various dimensions of the website (appearance, content, interactivity, ease of use, technical performance) was sent in April 2022 to healthcare professionals who referred to CRAT for clinical expertise over the previous two years. After sending out 3224 individual e-mail invitations, 758 evaluators completed the questionnaire in full (response rate: 23.5%). The evaluation revealed a high-level of overall satisfaction among site users (98.0% very satisfied or satisfied). Satisfaction with the site's appearance was also high, although comments were made about the site's lack of a modern web design. Health professionals recognized in their responses the reliable, relevant and up-to-date nature of the content of this free, public online resource, independent of the pharmaceutical industry. On the basis of these highly favorable assessments, with content that has been widely acclaimed and areas for improvement that have caught the attention of site users (evolution of its appearance, of the search tool, implementation of a mobile site), a new version of www.lecrat.fr was launched in the fall of 2023., (Copyright © 2024 The Authors. Introduction: In France, the breast cancer is the most common cancer among women under the age of 40. From 38 to 70% of women have not fulfilled their parental plans at the time of diagnosis. The gonadotoxicity of the treatments and the follicular physiological decline linked to age can become an obstacle to this project., Methods: Among the patients, 386 were treated for breast cancer at the Centre Georges-François-Leclerc in Dijon between January 2011 and December 2018 were identified. 192 patients aged under 39 met the inclusion criteria. We excluded metastatic cancers, cancer in situ and pregnant patients at diagnosis. A total of 124 patients agreed to participate in the study. The included patients filled out a self-questionnaire. Data were collected from the patient's electronic medical. The primary endpoint of this study was the live birth rate., Result: Among women who desired a child after breast cancer, the overall rate of live births was 36.2 % (21/58). Most achieved pregnancies were spontaneous (90.5 %). No factor was significantly associated with the absence of obtaining birth. Fertility was preserved by oocyte cryopreservation in 13.8 % of patients (17/124). The median time to conception in patients who received chemotherapy was 8 months [1.0-60.0] vs 2 months [1.0-7.0] in women who did not receive chemotherapy., Discussion: The non-negligible proportion of live births following spontaneous pregnancy after breast cancer allows us to be reassuring for patients. However, the emergence of new chemotherapy protocols whose consequences on long-term gonadotoxicity are still not well known requires further studies and prompts the promotion of fertility preservation as a precautionary measure., (Copyright © 2024 Société Française du Cancer. Fertility preservation for young patients treated with chemotherapy or radiotherapy is a constant concern. Semen freezing is a validated technique, easy to perform by all post-pubertal men able to ejaculate. Nevertheless, medical oncologists encounter difficulty to talk about this issue with adolescents and their families. That has been the background for the redaction of an information book titled ' Le CECOS c'est quoi ?', which has been written with teenagers and doctors. This book has been printed and disseminated in the French paediatric oncology centres with the support of the 'Ligue nationale contre le cancer'. Here is reported the result of a satisfaction survey performed in the oncology centres in order to estimate the level of knowledge about the existence of this book and its accuracy. Objectives: To study the methods and strategies of fertility preservation in young women with stage I epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), in order to provide recommendations for clinical practice., Methods: The PubMed database was searched for english and french language articles, between 2005 and 2001, according to predefined search equations., Results: Young patients with stage IA EOC willing to conceive should be informed that conservative treatment (contralateral ovary and salpinx, uterus) is possible (GradeC), associated with a 6 % to 13 % recurrence risk (GradeC) on the remaining ovary. This conservative surgical treatment includes adnexectomy, peritoneal and lymph node staging for all subtypes, and additional endometrial curettage for endometriosis and mucinous subtypes (GradeC). In case of positive staging conservative treatment is not possible. In case of mucinous EOC with an infiltrative pattern, lymph node staging is not necessary. Multidisciplinary analysis (including oncologists and reproductive medicine specialists) of the risk-benefit balance for a conservative surgery is recommended and must rely on a complete final pathology report (GradeC). No recommendation on bilateral adnexectomy and uterine conservation to allow pregnancy using egg donation can be provided in case of low-grade stage IA EOC, in the absence of data. Bilateral adnexectomy and uterine conservation to allow pregnancy using egg donation can be offered in case of serous, mucinous or endometrioid high-grade FIGO stage IA or low-grade FIGO stage IC1 or IC2 EOC (GradeC). Objectives: Analyze residents' intentions about parenting and knowledge about fertility, as well as their alleged behavior towards a diagnosis of diminished ovarian reserve., Materials and Methods: Prospective study with distribution of self-administered questionnaire to residents of Aix-Marseille university from June to September 2015. The questionnaire was composed of a first descriptive part including generic and personal informations about the residents and their intentions towards parenting. The second part was a 9 questions survey aimed at testing their knowledge about fertility and ovarian reserve and a final question placing them in a situation of a diminished ovarian reserve diagnosis in order to analyze their reactions., Results: The overall participation rate was 53.2%, including 220 women with an average age of 27 years (SD: 1.8 years) and 116 men with an average age of 27.3 years (SD: 2.2 years). The 11.8% of female residents (n=26) already had one or more children vs.6.9% of male residents (n=8). Among the residents without children, 99% of females (n=192) and 91.7% of males (n=99) said they wanted to have children in the future, planning an average age to have their first child of 29.6 years (SD: 1.9 years) for females and 30.4 years (SD: 2.2 years) for men. Moreover, 58.3% of female residents (n=112) and 53.5% of male residents (n=53) reported that they were postponing their plan to have children after the completion of their medical studies. In a simulation of couples facing a diagnosis of diminished ovarian reserve, 73.6% of females and 61.2% of males would be ready to change their life choices and conceive a baby sooner than originally planned., Conclusion: Almost all the general medicine residents have plannedto have children in the future and more than half of them postpone their parental plan after the end of their residency, although the decline of female fertility in relation to aging is widely known among them., (Copyright © 2017 Elsevier Masson SAS. Background: Focusing on the current context of national and international recommendations, techniques development to evaluate and preserve fertility and patients' claims, this study aims to make a survey about the management of patients' breast cancer regarding oncofertility., Methods: Retrospective and analytic study of medical practices at Bergonié Institute of health professionals (medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, nurses) dedicated to the care of non-disseminated breast cancer patients younger than 37, needing medical treatment., Results: The number of participants was 230. The most interested practitioners in fertility theme are those of multidisciplinary consultation and surgeons (P<0.001), with an increasing interest during last years (P<0.05). The information about hypofertilizing risks of treatments are delivered most of the time by oncologists (57.7%). The motherhood project is expressed by 11 patients (4.9%) before treatment, only 4 of them receive information on the risks and 49 patients (21.7%) during follow-up. Only 24 patients (48% of the 49) are encouraged for motherhood., Conclusion: To satisfy patients' requests, several improvements have to be made regarding the patients' information, the health professionals' awareness and care coordination., (Copyright © 2015 Société Française du Cancer.
