This article reports on some research into drawing from memory carried out in Brazil and France that investigated similarities in the way children render graphic components. In both countries, children, aged 5 to 12 years, were asked to draw a pineapple, typewriter, teapot, telephone and a starfish from memory and the research team studied what they drew and how. They investigated the outcomes using frequency and sequence studies to analyse how many children drew the same components of each object and in what order. The study revealed a high level of common attributes in the drawing process regardless of age, gender and cultural differences and the characteristics of the objects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
