Abstract

The article presents and discusses the English-German version of the glossary - Teaching Librarians - that was initiated by the working group Information Competence North Rhine-Westphalia in collaboration with the Network for Information Competence of Baden-Württemberg. The glossary was improved together with British and German librarians.

Abstract

The glossary was written by members of the "Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung" (BMBF; Federal Ministry for Education and Research) in Germany. Goals of the glossary include semantic support for online tutorials, blended learning opportunities, and use in scientific databases in libraries.

Abstract

The article focuses on the creation of a preservation plan by the Bavarian State Library in Munich, Germany to determine the suitability of using JPEG 2000 as an archival master format. It explains that the plan would include a systematic approach to evaluate the potential actions and select the most suitable format. Details related to the four phases of the plan, the description of the digital collections, and the alternatives and tools considered to evaluate the format are also included.
