The author reports that officials from the European Union have suggested that posted speed limits be placed on the autobahn highway in Germany. The goal is to decrease the amount of green house gases which are admitted into the air by cars. Cars which are driven at slower speeds give off less green houses gases and have a better fuel economy. The average speed for a car on the autobahn is 80 miles an hour.
