In order to break through the surface analysis of the content structure of policy texts, an in-depth discussion of the linkage between regional policy makers and objectives is helpful to analyze the formation mechanism of policy effects. Through social network analysis and multi-index analysis, this study takes the QianwanNew Area of Ningbo and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as representatives to explore the policy framework for the sustainable development of manufacturing industry in the two bay areas respectively. Through the construction of government department cooperation network, policy keyword co-occurrence network, department keyword correlation network, and the analysis of network density, network centrality, structural holes, and cohesive subgroups, it is found that the impact results show great differences, which is related to the network structure of manufacturing policy text. Intangible cultural heritage (ICH) terms are unique expressions of cultural knowledge and practices that are deeply rooted in a particular region or community. Accurately translating ICH terms is crucial for sharing this knowledge and promoting cross-cultural understanding. However, the complex nature of ICH terms, including their regional and cultural specificity, means that mistranslations can easily occur during the translation process. In addition to linguistic and cultural barriers, psychological factors can also impact the accuracy of translations. Translation psychology, a new discipline that examines the psychological process of bilingual conversion and its cognitive mechanisms, can provide insights into the translation of ICH terms. This paper proposes an information processing model of translating ICH terms based on translation psychology, which examines the psychological processes of translators during the translation of Chinese ICH terms into English. Through questionnaires and translation exercises, the study compares and analyzes the psychological activity process of the translators, verifies the expression of translation psychology in the translation of ICH terms, and identifies the characteristics of students' translations. The study's subjects were non-English major sophomores with diverse academic backgrounds, randomly sampled from a representative polytechnic university in Guangdong. The findings of this study are significant for improving the quality of translations and promoting cross-cultural understanding of ICH terms. By understanding the psychological factors involved in the translation of ICH terms, we can overcome language and cultural barriers and accurately convey the rich cultural heritage embodied in these terms. This paper examines a sample of 167 publicly listed enterprises covered by eight regional pilot emissions trading markets in China from 2013 to 2023. Our empirical findings indicate that the carbon price returns negatively affect the stock returns of enterprises covered by the regional markets, with the Shenzhen and Guangdong regions suffering a more pronounced effect. Furthermore, high-carbon-intensity enterprises are more susceptible to this negative impact than their low-carbon-intensity counterparts. The robustness of the negative relationship is evident even after the national emissions trading market opened on July 16, 2021. Ozone (O3) pollution has negative impacts on human health and property. The Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) is facing severe O3 pollution problems due to rapid economic development. In this paper, we used sensitivity experiments and GeoDetector to analyze the effects of meteorological factors, anthropogenic emissions, and landscape patterns on O3 concentrations as well as the contributions of NOx and NMVOC (non-methane volatile organic compounds) to the variation of O3 concentrations and the causes of sectoral emissions in the GBA in 2017. The results revealed that, in GBA, the contribution of meteorology to the variation of O3 concentration was dominant both in terms of region and extent, and the contribution of emissions was relatively weak. The contribution of meteorology and emissions to O3 production was mainly contributory. Meteorology contributed significantly to O3, and its non-linear interaction with anthropogenic emissions and surface landscape affected O3 concentration changes. The degree of contribution of NOx and NMVOC varied widely among seasons, and the variation of their relative contribution areas was related to residential sector emissions and agricultural sector emissions. This article enriches the exploration of the O3 formation mechanism in the GBA and provides theoretical support for the implementation of differentiated regional and seasonal mitigation strategies for O3 concentration. The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is a young but vigorous international city cluster with a complete industrial system and is taking the lead in China's economic development. This paper analyzes the economic and industrial development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and measures the industrial agglomeration index and homogeneity index among different cities in the area. After our analysis, we found that the cities in the area showed apparent differences in their economic development levels. Therefore, this paper suggests improving the competitiveness of the Greater Bay Area through systematic division and collaboration of industries, further achieving rational industrial structure and high-quality economic development. Simple Summary: In this study, consumer preferences for pork produced using animal-welfare-enhancing farming strategies were assessed. In China, the demand for animal-friendly products is increasing, but so far, studies on consumer preferences for animal welfare farming attributes are limited. The objective of this study was to analyze consumer preferences for pork based on four animal welfare farming attributes, namely feed nutrition, living environment, health care, and activity space. The study employed a choice experiment approach. The survey covered 1274 pork consumers in Guangdong province, China. Our empirical results suggest that Chinese consumers were willing to pay an additional 2.359–10.477 CNY/500 g (5.27–23.39%) for animal welfare pork. Furthermore, there was significant heterogeneity in consumer preferences. China is the world's largest producer and consumer of pork. Since the outbreaks of African swine fever in 2018, China's pork imports have been constantly on the rise. The results can contribute to the optimization of pork production structures and marketing plans for stakeholders and can assist with the timely development of international competition strategies for animal-derived trade products. Consumption demands for pork produced by farms that employ strategies to improve animal welfare ("animal welfare pork") will be an important indicator for predicting domestic pig feeding standards and pork industry development. This paper analyzes consumer preferences for animal welfare pork based on the choice experiment data of 1274 pork consumers in Guangdong province, China. The results show that consumers had a significant preference for animal welfare pork and that they were willing to pay a premium of 2.359–10.477 CNY/500 g (5.27–23.39%) on average. There is heterogeneity in consumer preferences regarding age, education level, and income. Producers of animal-derived products can not only adjust the mix of production conditions to improve pig welfare and innovate contractual arrangements for industry chain stakeholder groups, but they can also develop differentiated marketing strategies for animal welfare products to meet consumer demands for animal welfare. The disaster of water gushing is very liable to occur when tunnels are built in the water-rich fracture structures in igneous rock areas. Different sources of water gushing result in different sizes of disaster. The safety of human life and property are in danger. For the prediction of water gushing in tunnels, the fuzzy clustering method was used to determine the source of the water gushing in this paper. The problem of subjectivity in traditional identification methods was solved by this method. On the basis of the fuzzy clustering method, dynamically changing parameters of the effective radius of the water gushing were introduced and regressed with the dynamic monitoring data and the hydrogeological survey results in an improved method for predicting water gushing. Then, an improved method for predicting water gushing, considering the source, was proposed. A deep underground, extra-long tunnel under construction in the igneous region of southern China was used to verify the soundness of this improved method. Research results showed that the water gushing into the tunnel had a low correlation with surface water with a similarity index of λ m i n = 0.3967 in the results of the second test. The water came mainly from within the rock mass. The effective radius were jointly determined by the average thickness of the rock aquifer and water gushing time, together with a positive correlation. The period of water gushing was divided into three stages. The predictions had a good accuracy rate with an error of 10% or less. Purpose: As the center of the fourth industrial revolution, artificial intelligence (AI) has marked its presence in various disciplines including the education field in the form of AI-powered learning applications. The purpose of this study is to build a research model capturing the relationships among use contexts, user gratification, attitude, learning performance and continuous intention to use an AI-powered English learning application. Design/methodology/approach: Using the use and gratification theory, use contexts and the belief-attitude-intention theory, this paper uses a quantitative approach based on a survey method for data collection and structural equation modeling for analysis. A total of 478 students from an international university in Guangdong, China, participated in the survey after using Liulishuo for two weeks. Findings: The results showed that perceived use contexts affected all variables associated with gratifications-obtained and gratification-opportunities. With the exception of social integrativeness, all other gratification-based factors significantly affected attitude. The attitude in turn significantly influenced learning performance and continuous use intention. Originality/value: Mobile AI-powered learning applications are at the center of research on technology-enhanced learning in the age of media and technology convergence. In recent years, a lot of work has been done in the protection and utilization of intangible cultural heritage in South China, while there are dilemmas such as the variation of inheritance content, the extinction of heritage, and the absence of inheritors, it is urgent to strengthen the protection of intangible cultural heritage with realistic reasons. This paper adopts human geography research methods, based on SPSS mathematical statistics, GIS spatial analysis, and econometric models, to analyze the spatial differentiation characteristics of 10 types of intangible cultural heritage in the region and their influencing factors based on 1,708 intangible cultural heritage data from various regions in South China, according to five regions, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Hong Kong, and Macao. It was found that (1) the intangible cultural heritage in South China is distributed in clusters, with the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong and Guinan in Guangxi being the core areas of high-density intangible cultural heritage; (2) the characteristics of spatial differentiation of intangible cultural heritage in the region are influenced by a combination of factors, among which the pattern distribution is obviously influenced by cultural factors such as the distribution of ethnic minorities and the number of museums. Finally, from the perspective of revitalization, protection, and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, the government should propose dialectical and integrated protection of intangible cultural heritage in South China while continuously enhancing its living and contemporary flavor. The scientific and technological innovation ability of the economic free trade zone is crucial to the depth and breadth of its economic development. There are too many subjective factors in the evaluation of the scientific and technological innovation ability of traditional economic free trade zones. In order to objectively evaluate the scientific and technological innovation ability of the free trade zone, this paper uses the random forest weighting method and the weighted linear combination to construct the evaluation index system, designs the evaluation model of the scientific and technological innovation ability of the free trade zone, and makes a specific analysis and evaluation based on the operation data of the economic and technological innovation ability of China's four key free trade zones in 2020. The results show that the scientific and technological innovation ability of Guangdong economic free trade zone is the strongest, followed by Guangdong economic and trade zone, Shanghai economic and trade zone, Zhejiang economic and trade zone, and Tianjin economic and trade zone; Guangdong free trade zone has strong scientific and technological innovation ability. Compared with other free trade zones, Guangdong's main advantages lie in the integration and aggregation ability of the industrial chain, strong policy support, and talent attraction. The scientific and technological innovation ability forms a virtuous circle. The analysis of the model example shows that the introduction of the random forest weighting method into the scientific and technological evaluation of the free trade zone can more objectively compare and analyze the scientific and technological innovation ability of the free trade zone, which is of great significance to help the free trade zone find out the problems and shortcomings in the scientific and technological innovation ability and improve the level of scientific and technological innovation. Based on the actor-partner interdependence model, this paper studied the relationship between marital commitment, sacrifice behavior and marital quality of military couples. A convenience sample of 171 Chinese military couples from Guangdong, Jiangsu and Sichuan province was used. All participants completed the self-report questionnaires independently including the Dimension of Commitment Inventory (DCI), the Couples Sacrifice Behavior Scale (CSBS) and the Evaluation and Nurturing Relationship Issues, Communication and Happiness (ENRICH). Results showed that the scores of marital commitment and marital quality of male soldiers were significantly higher than that of their spouses. Compared to their spouses, male soldiers reported higher frequency of sacrifice behaviors and perceiving sacrifice behaviors of spouses. Furthermore, the marital commitment of military couples had significant influence on their own marital quality and frequency of perceiving each other's sacrifice behavior Military couples' perception of the frequency of each other's sacrifice behavior partially mediated the effect of marital commitment on their marital quality. To ensure pavement maintenance funds are reasonably allocated, it is necessary to comprehensively and effectively rank pavement sections based on multidimensional condition data to determine priority for rehabilitation. This paper proposes an unsupervised multidimensional performance data-driven model for evaluating road maintenance priority based on comprehensive multidimensional indicators, which solves the issues of a single decision index and inflexibility of traditional models. In this hybrid model, the density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) algorithm is first used to cluster the similar pavement performance properties and identify noise in the data, then the support vector machine (SVM) is employed to assess the rank and priority of different pavement section clusters. Model's effectiveness was verified through a case study of a highway in Guangdong Province, China, in which data from 290 pavement sections were ranked according to five attributes. Six clusters and five maintenance levels were obtained, and the model was used to evaluate overall pavement performance and assign specific rehabilitation measures to different clusters. This paper explores the influence of RS( I ) corrosion inhibitor on the performance of sprayed concrete, and makes a comparative study on the solid effect of a tunnel in Guangdong Province. The results show that when adding 20kg/m³, RS ( I ) not only does not affect the setting time of sprayed concrete, but also reduces the chloride ion diffusion coefficient of concrete, and can improve the strength and corrosion resistance of sprayed concrete. In engineering application, the anti -corrosion sprayed concrete mixed with 20 kg/m³ RS ( I ) shows good mechanical and durable properties, which shows that compared with ordinary sprayed concrete, the 28d strength is increased by 44.5%,28d chloride ion diffusion coefficient is reduced by 13.7%,and the effective diffusion coefficient is "low". Using deep learning-based object detection algorithms for landslide hazards detection is very popular and effective. However, most existing algorithms are designed for landslides in a specific geographical range. This paper constructs a set of landslide detection models YOLOX-Pro, based on the improved YOLOX (You Only Look Once) target detection model to address the poor detection of complex mixed landslides. Wherein the VariFocal is used to replace the binary cross entropy in the original classification loss function to solve the uneven distribution of landslide samples and improve the detection recall; the coordinate attention (CA) mechanism is added to enhance the detection accuracy. Firstly, 1200 historical landslide optical remote sensing images in thirty-eight areas of China were extracted from Google Earth to create a mixed sample set for landslide detection. Next, the three attention mechanisms were compared to form the YOLOX-Pro model. Then, we tested the performance of YOLOX-Pro by comparing it with four models: YOLOX, YOLOv5, Faster R-CNN, and Single Shot MultiBox Detector (SSD). The results show that the YOLOX-Pro(m) has significantly improved the detection accuracy of complex and small landslides than the other models, with an average precision (AP0.75) of 51.5%, APsmall of 36.50%, and ARsmall of 49.50%. In addition, optical remote sensing images of a 12.32 km 2 group-occurring landslides area located in Mibei village, Longchuan County, Guangdong, China, and 750 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) images collected from the Internet were also used for landslide detection. The research results proved that the proposed method has strong generalization and good detection performance for many types of landslides, which provide a technical reference for the broad application of landslide detection using UAV. In recent years, due to the rise in energy prices and the impact of COVID-19, energy shortages have led to unsafe power supply environments. High emissions industries which account for more than 58% of the carbon emissions of Guangdong Province have played an important role in achieving the carbon peak goal, alleviating social energy shortage and promoting economic growth. Controlling high emissions industries will help to adjust the industrial structure and increase renewable energy investment. Therefore, it is necessary to comprehensively evaluate the policies of energy security and the investments of high emission industries. This paper builds the ICEEH-GD (comprehensive assessment model of climate, economy, environment and health of Guangdong Province) model, designs the Energy Security scenario (ES), the Restrict High Carbon Emission Sector scenario (RHS) and the Comprehensive Policy scenario (CP), and studies the impact of limiting high emissions industries and renewable energy policies on the transformation of investment structure, macro-economy and society. The results show that under the Energy Security scenario (ES), carbon emissions will peak in 2029, with a peak of 681 million tons. Under the condition of ensuring energy security, the installed capacity of coal-fired power generation will remain unchanged from 2025 to 2035. Under the Restrict High Carbon Emission Sector scenario (RHS), the GDP will increase by 8 billion yuan compared with the ES scenario by 2035. At the same time, it can promote the whole society to increase 10,500 employment opportunities, and more investment will flow to the low emissions industries. In the Comprehensive Policy scenario (CP), although the GDP loss will reach 33 billion yuan by 2035 compared with the Energy Security scenario (ES), the transportation and service industries will participate in carbon trading by optimizing the distribution of carbon restrictions in the whole society, which will reduce the carbon cost of the whole society by more than 48%, and promote the employment growth of 104,000 people through industrial structure optimization. Therefore, the power sector should increase investment in renewable energy to ensure energy security, limit the new production capacity of high emissions industries such as cement, steel and ceramics, and increase the green transition and efficiency improvement of existing high emissions industries. The notion of “agent bookkeeping” was proposed when the “Accounting Law of the People’s Republic of China” was updated in 1993. Since their business is specialized in serving small and micro-enterprises, this has created the industry characteristic of generally small in the size of company and low in the salary of employees in Chinese agent bookkeeping companies. Such characteristic results in a series of problems including negative work attitude of employees in the development process, which seriously limit the development of Chinese agent bookkeeping companies. However, issues occurred in the development of agent bookkeeping, such as negative employee attitudes, which severely hampered the growth of Chinese agent bookkeeping companies. Therefore, a model of three dimensions of work attitude has been set up in this paper to demonstrate the working attitude of the staff of the agent bookkeeping companies in China’s Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, including emotional dimension, behavioral dimension, and cognitive dimension which consists of eight factors: work environment, career satisfaction, interpersonal relationship, role engagement, work vitality, responsibility attitude, emotional identity, and retention attitude. The result indicates that (1) female employees outnumber male ones in agent bookkeeping companies, (2) most employees have a low sense of belonging to the company, (3) limited career development affects employees’ enthusiasm for work, (4) work attitudes are influenced by mediocre work performance among employees with a graduate degree or higher. The increasing demand for electric power is an established trend in China, of which coal power accounts for a large proportion. This paper proposes an inventory hub location model considering multi‐type coal to minimize the total transportation and inventory cost in a multi‐coal‐power supply chain. A second‐order cone programming method is adopted to convert the original model. The exact solutions of the small‐scale real case show that the model can greatly reduce the total costs by CPLEX. For real‐world large‐scale cases, a customized greedy randomized adaptive search simulated annealing algorithm is devised and tested to obtain near‐optimal solutions within a reasonable time. The Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) is one of the most active innovation areas in China, but the complex institutional and cultural environment makes innovation cooperation among the cities challenging. Based on 2001–2019 data, this study analyses the spatial pattern and externalities of GBA's knowledge innovation network using a social network method and spatial econometric model. Results show that Guangzhou and Hong Kong have always been the cores of knowledge innovation in network. Shenzhen emerged as an innovation centre after 2012, and other cities have become peripheral areas in the network. Small- and medium-sized cities do not benefit from the innovative development of core cities but are trapped in their agglomeration shadow. Institutional and cultural differences are the main obstacles hindering innovation cooperation between cities. In comparison, distance has fewer limitations on innovation cooperation. The negative externality of knowledge innovation network indicates that this region should narrow the gap of spatial differences, optimise the innovation network pattern to improve the network externalities. Using the quantile GARCH model estimators to gauge the bidirectional risk magnitude and the Granger causality test in risk distributions to detect the existence of risk spillovers, this paper explores the extreme risk spillovers of China's regional carbon markets to local listed firm's stock returns. From the perspectives of macro region level and micro firm level, the findings are outlined as follows. First, among the top three active carbon trading pilots (Hubei, Guangdong, and Shenzhen), Hubei pilot exhibits significant "low risk and high profit" features. Second, the predominant risk spillover effects to local listed firms are heterogeneous across pilots. Specifically, Hubei pilot is dominated by "up-to-down" effect, and Guangdong pilot is dominated by "down-to-down" effect, while Shenzhen pilot has no predominant effect. The heterogeneous risk spillover performance may be caused by the regional divergence in economic development, industry structure, and cap setting concerning each pilot. Third, the risk transmission performance from carbon allowance price to local listed firm's stock returns depends on the firm's belonging sector. That is, environment-related firms, either environment-friendly firms or pollution-intensive firms, are more susceptible to carbon markets' risks compared with environment-unrelated firms. This paper supplies novel information on the risk transmission from carbon markets to local economic entities, which proves valuable not only for firms to improve risk aversion ability but also for policy-makers to perfect carbon markets' mechanism. Under the background of "one belt, one road initiative" and the "Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area," Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao port group development is facing new opportunities. The port group has a large throughput, covering the hinterland with dense population and high economic density, excellent transportation infrastructure, and broad consumption market. However, the port group internal competition is fierce, and the development level is different in space. Based on this, this paper uses the HHI index and spatial economics as research method and aims to study the spatial evolution characteristics and influencing factors of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao port group. Firstly, the HHI index is used to describe the aggregation status. Secondly, the development level index according to port throughput and container throughput is constructed. The spatial development and evolution process of the port group of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao is analyzed by combining with spatial econometrics and economic geography. In summary, the influencing factor "diamond model" is constructed and took empirical research to verify its rationality and scientificity. The empirical results show a strong spatial correlation between the development of the Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao port group. The government intervention and the development of port industry have a negative correlation, and this impact will be weakened over time. There is a negative relationship between the level of marketization and the development of the port industry. There is a multiple and complex relationship between the port auxiliary industry and the development of the port industry, and it shows the short-term influence is smaller than the long-term impact. The level of port transportation infrastructure, the port industry competition, and the economic openness have significant and positive effects on the development of the port group. With the rapid development of rail transit, the excavation of new foundation pits will inevitably approach or pass through existing structures. Therefore, choosing a reasonable support scheme can effectively control the deformation of the foundation pit and ensure the safety of existing structures. This paper investigates the excavation of a typical foundation pit in Guangdong that underpasses a viaduct as the research object. This study uses field monitoring and numerical simulations to analyze the deformation characteristics of the supporting structure and introduces grey relational analysis (GRA) to investigate the key factors that influence the maximum horizontal deflection of the retaining wall. The results indicate that all monitored values are substantially less than the warning value specified in the code. Moreover, the horizontal deflection of the retaining wall and the horizontal displacement of the top of the wall at the measuring points near the existing bridge piles are smaller than at other measuring points. This support system has a high safety factor and a large space for optimization. The main factors affecting the maximum horizontal deflection of the retaining wall are as follows: second strut horizontal spacing > first strut horizontal spacing > layered excavation thickness > retaining wall thickness > retaining wall stiffness. The mystery of China's economic growth has been widely concerned by the world. However, little attention has been paid to the transformation of the economic growth momentum of Guangdong Province, which has long occupied the top in China's economic growth. This paper analyzes the evolution and the transformation of the momentum source of economic growth in Guangdong Province from 1979 to 2019, using Total Factor Productivity Growth Decomposition method. The results show that capital investment contributes the most to economic growth, the contributions of total factor productivity, and labor input rank second and third, respectively; the change of the contribution of each momentum source to GDP growth mainly comes from the impact of the secondary industry. Both industrial capital productivity and capital allocation structure play a negative role in driving the overall capital productivity, and both industrial labor productivity and labor allocation structure play a positive role in driving the overall labor productivity. Industrial factor productivity and industrial factor allocation structure play a major positive role and a weak negative role in promoting economic growth, respectively. This paper aims to provide a historical study of the development of the Cantonese community in Singapore. Through an archival study of various Cantonese associations, it will focus on the connotations of what it means to be Cantonese and the lives of Cantonese people in the context of Singapore. According to a 2020 Singapore population census, the "Cantonese" are currently the third largest Chinese-dialect group, making up almost fifteen percent of the Chinese population on the island state. The term Cantonese, in Singapore, commonly refers to those originating from the vicinity of China's Guangdong Province, mainly from the south-west region of Guangdong, along the Pearl River Delta. Outnumbered by the Hokkien and Teochew communities, the Cantonese were largely centralized in the Kreta Ayer area and were the dominant dialect group there. Yet, the definition of the term "Cantonese" involves two major issues of geographical location and language system. Being Cantonese, as per the administrative control of Guangdong Province, encompasses all of Chinese descent whose respective ancestral origins are from Guangdong. Moreover, the Cantonese are defined by the unique characteristics of the Cantonese language as well. Due to its special geographical conditions, Guangdong has absorbed the essence of the Central Plains Han culture and characteristics of foreign cultures, resulting in architecture in which traditional buildings exhibit unique regional cultural connotations. The architectural design is adapted to the needs of nature and ecology and the arts and humanities. This paper investigates the technical process of using local materials to obtain structural materials. Traditional Guangdong buildings use patios, cold alleys and doors as well as windows in a comprehensive manner to create an energy-saving and environmentally friendly ventilation design, which was analyzed here. In addition, we study the floor plans and artistic characteristics of traditional buildings in different regions of Guangdong. Traditional Guangdong buildings realize the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature, as well as embody the concept of sustainable development. Traditional buildings integrate benefits and efficiency while condensing the surpassing wisdom and rich experience of craftsmen from ancient times to the present. A multiple-airport system (MAS) consists of more than two airports in a metropolitan area under a large block of terminal airspace that is managed by one or two air traffic control units. When the capacity of an airport or of the terminal airspace drops, flight delays occur in the MAS system. A quick estimation and predication of traffic congestion in the MAS is important yet challenging. This paper aims to develop a queuing network model of MAS using point-wise stationary queues. The model analyzes the changes of non-stationary queues under the principle of flow conservation to capture flight delay propagation in the system. Regression analyses are performed to examine the relationship between the arrival and departure efficiencies of different airports. The model is validated with the data of Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area airports. Simulation results show that the model can effectively estimate flight delays in the MAS. Based on the equivalent factor table of terrestrial ESV in China in 2010, this paper proposes a regionalized and interannual ESV correction method. Taking southern Guangzhou as the study area, which is located in the geometric center of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GHM GBA), this study evaluated the ecosystem service equivalent value (ESEV) and ecosystem service value (ESV) and their changes in 2004, 2010 and 2016 and carried out grid processing, trend analysis and global/local spatial autocorrelation of the ecosystem service density (ESD) in the study area by using the Natural Resources Integrated Database of Guangdong Province (NRIDB). The results of data processing and spatial analysis computed in this study were published as Web services through the NRIDB and displayed in the visualization front-end. The results showed that (1) during 2004–2016, the urbanization process in the study area led to the expansion of built-up land, which occupied a large amount of ecological land and resulted in a decreasing trend of ESV. (2) Benefiting from socioeconomic development, the standard value volume of the ESEV (D value) kept increasing, which resulted in an increasing trend for the total ESV. (3) The spatial autocorrelation analysis results of ESD indicated that the spatial distribution of ESD in the study area had strong spatial agglomeration and positive spatial correlation. With the progress of urbanization and increases in research scale and interval distance, the spatial difference in ESD became larger over time. For quantitative precipitation estimation (QPE) based on polarimetric radar (PR) and rain gauges (RGs), the quality of the radar data is crucial for estimation accuracy. This paper proposes a combined radar quality index (CRQI) to represent the quality of the radar data used for QPE and an algorithm that uses CRQI to improve the QPE performance. Nine heavy rainfall events that occurred in Guangdong Province, China, were used to evaluate the QPE performance in five contrast tests. The QPE performance was evaluated in terms of the overall statistics, spatial distribution, near real-time statistics, and microphysics. CRQI was used to identify good-quality data pairs (i.e., PR-based QPE and RG observation) for correcting estimators (i.e., relationships between the rainfall rate and the PR parameters) in real-time. The PR-based QPE performance was improved because estimators were corrected according to variations in the drop size distribution, especially for data corresponding to 1.1 mm < average Dm < 1.4 mm, and 4 < average log10Nw < 4.5. Some underestimations caused by the beam broadening effect, excessive beam height, and partial beam blockages, which could not be mitigated by traditional algorithms, were significantly mitigated by the proposed algorithm using CRQI. The proposed algorithm reduced the root mean square error by 17.5% for all heavy rainfall events, which included three precipitation types: convective precipitation (very heavy rainfall), squall line (huge raindrops), and stratocumulus precipitation (small but dense raindrops). Although the best QPE performance was observed for stratocumulus precipitation, the biggest improvement in performance with the proposed algorithm was observed for the squall line. In this paper, the 3D continuum-discrete coupling analysis method combined with the strength reduction theory is used to study the macrodeformation, stress law, and microfracture mechanism of a high and steep cutting slope of Zhongkai Expressway in Guangdong Province. The 3D continuum-discrete coupling slope model is established based on the finite difference software FLAC and the discrete element program PFC. Then, based on the correlations between stress tensor and force chain, displacement and shear strain increment, plastic deformation, and microfracture, the mechanism of slope instability is analyzed from macro- and microscales. The research shows the following: (1) the continuum-discrete coupling model is reasonable and effective in the three-dimensional slope stability analysis. (2) The coupling domain was penetrated by the shear band, and the upper part displacement of the coupling domain was large, whose direction was basically consistent with the shear band direction; thus, the slope slip surface was formed. (3) The microfracture can represent the macroscopic failure phenomenon, and the slope landslide can be interpreted as the result of shear fracture in slip direction, accompanied by the extension and penetration of tension crack. The power sector plays a significant role in carbon neutrality strategies, and the grid system is a crucial part of the power sector. In particular, with less mitigation potential from technology efficiency, the credit from whole life cycles is critical. This paper describes the investigation of the environmental impacts of various scenarios from the perspective of life cycles. By using the life cycle assessment (LCA) method, various grid systems are examined as a case study, including a traditional, renewable energy, and power storage grid system, as well as a microgrid, in Guangdong. The results highlight the fact that with the systematic improvement of a grid, significant environmental benefits can be achieved. For a grid system, optimization through technology has significant carbon reduction effects even if the power grid structure is not changed. Using renewable energy instead of traditional fuel can reduce the emission of 0.05 kg of CO2-equivalent greenhouse gas per 1 kWh of electricity produced, which is 7.9% of the baseline, and microgrid technology leads to a much greater carbon reduction potential of 23.8% of the baseline. To contribute to the debate on the importance of state vis-à-vis inter-firm competition in regional development, this paper examines a representative dataset of the relocation of manufacturing firms in Guangdong province of China with multinomial logistic regression models. To improve the competitiveness of manufacturing in the Pearl River Delta, the Guangdong government implemented pro-active policies to encourage the relocation of existing manufacturing firms to their designated industrial parks during the 2000s. Although the initial results appear to support the usefulness of relocation policy, further examination reveals its effectiveness depends on the industrial sector and profiles of the relocated firms. In fact, the relocation of large-scale labor-intensive firms is not driven by local government initiatives. The physical proximity of high-technology parks to airports/ports has a bigger impact on the relocation of small-scale locally-funded high-technology firms into designated parks. In the case of locally-funded firms in polluting sectors, they are expanding rather than relocating to designated industrial parks. The empirical evidence indicates the non-binary nature of the industrial relocation policy. What explains failures of large-scale anti-corruption campaigns in reducing corruption? Theories on developing country corruption see corruption as either a problem of weak formal institutions that incentivize naturally opportunistic actors or as remnants of traditional behaviors that persist despite changing modern state boundaries and regulations. Neither helps explain how participants continuously strategize to reframe and articulate the morality of those questionable transactions. This paper, through multi-year fieldwork and 34 interviews with business elites in China's Guangdong province, examines how officials and businesses reconfigured their strategies of corruption during a recent anti-corruption campaign. We find that key actors engaged in 'moral articulation' – devising moral repertoires and realigning common exchange practices to accepted meaning frames to safeguard interests and obfuscate their activities. In doing so, they challenged some aspects of state-initiated definitions of corruption while embracing others. Rather than eliciting conformity, the campaign prompted new ingenious action frames that helped internally justify corruption and allowed questionable exchange practices to continue on. Guangdong Province is an important ecological barrier and the primary pillar of economic development in China. Driven by high-speed urbanization and industrialization, unreasonable land use change in Guangdong Province has exacerbated habitat degradation and loss, seriously affecting habitat quality. Thus, taking Guangdong Province as the study area, this paper quantifies the response of habitat quality on land use change using the Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs (InVEST) model and constructs a contribution index (CI). The following conclusions can be drawn from the results: (1) The habitat quality exhibits a spatial distribution pattern of low quality in plain areas and high quality in hilly and mountainous areas. (2) The annual average habitat quality gradually decreases from 1980 to 2020, with a total decrease of 0.0351 and a reduction rate of 4.83%; (3) The impact of land use change on habitat quality is mainly negative, and the habitat quality mainly decreases by the conversion of forest land to orchards, paddy field to urban land, and forest land to dry land, with CI values of −24.09, −11.67, and −8.04, respectively. Preventing the destruction of natural forests, increasing the diversity of plantation orchards, and rationalizing and mitigating the growth rate of construction land are key to maintaining and improving the habitat quality. This paper develops a hierarchical deep learning machine (HDLM) to efficiently achieve both quantitative and qualitative online transient stability prediction (TSP). For the sake of improving its online efficiency, multiple generators’ fault-on trajectories as well as the two closest data-points in pre-/post-fault stages are acquired by PMUs to form its raw inputs. An anti-noise graphical transient characterization technique is tactfully designed to transform multiplex trajectories into 2-D images, within which system-wide transients are concisely described. Then, following the divide-and-conquer philosophy, the HDLM trains a two-level convolutional neural network (CNN) based regression model. With stability margin regressions hierarchically refined, it manages to perform reliable and adaptive online TSP almost immediately after fault clearance. Test results on the IEEE 39-bus test system and the real-world Guangdong Power Grid in South China demonstrate the HDLM's superior performances on both stability status and stability margin predictions. As China’s tourism industry enters a new era of the happiness industry, tourism livelihood efficiency has become an important basis for testing the development effect of tourism. Based on the perspective of the happiness industry, this paper takes Guangdong Province as an example to evaluate tourism livelihood efficiency in coastal areas. The DEA model and Malmquist model are used to measure tourism livelihood efficiency with the spatial and temporal evolution of 21 cities in Guangdong Province from 2010 to 2017. The results show that the tourism livelihood efficiency of Guangdong Province has reached a good state overall and that tourism development has entered a stage of intensive growth. The evolution of regional tourism efficiency has obvious regional characteristics, with the regional tourism efficiency of the Pearl River Delta being larger than that of eastern Guangdong, the mountainous area and western Guangdong. Based on the status of tourism livelihood efficiency over the years, cities are divided into four types: the strong type, growth type, steady type and stagnation type. By establishing an objective and effective indicator system, we can accurately estimate the economic losses inflicted by typhoon storm surge. With Guangdong selected as the area for our case study, we used confirmatory factor analysis to identify and select three types of risk factors generating economic losses from such disasters: hazard, vulnerability, and disaster resilience. Moreover, by dividing the study area into three time periods in based on economic development conditions, we analyzed the indicator changes in various risk factors within them. Studies have shown that impact indicators from various risk factors at different time periods have not changed significantly, while their degree of relevance has varied with each risk factor. Compared with the traditionally established indicator systems, the basic indicators based on historical cases in this paper are more factual, and the application of confirmatory factor analysis in the selection of indicators has eliminated the interference of subjective factors, rendering the results more rational and scientific. China has limited arable land area, and its output value is increased with enhanced agricultural inputs such as machinery, irrigation, fertilizers, and pesticides. However, this mode is accompanied by an increase in agricultural carbon emissions. With the aim to further examine the driving effect of scientific and technological innovation on economic growth and green agriculture, this study uses the Solow growth model coupled with the Cobb–Douglas production function and vector autoregressive models. Then, the agricultural scientific and technological innovation capacity in Guangdong Province during 2006–2020 is evaluated by using the contribution rate of agricultural scientific and technological progress (ASTP) as the assessment index. In addition, the carbon footprints of green agricultural indexes such as machinery, irrigation, fertilizers, and pesticides are measured to analyze the relationship between green agriculture and agricultural scientific and technological innovation capacity. Results demonstrate the gradual increase in the contribution rate of ASTP in Guangdong Province. During the 11th, 12th, and 13th Five-Year Plan periods, the rates were 65.09%, 65.94%, and 70.40%, respectively, indicating that the agricultural scientific and technological innovation ability constantly improved. Among the indexes of green agriculture, the carbon footprints of machinery have a significant impact on agricultural scientific and technological innovation, which is quickly transformed into machinery. Such innovation requires the driving force of science and technology itself, which have relatively significant and rapid effects. On the basis of the results, corresponding policy suggestions are proposed: increasing investments in scientific and technological innovation in the agricultural field, vigorously developing new energy-saving and emission reduction products and processes for fertilizers, and increasing the research and promotion of agricultural machinery. This paper explores the forecasting power of some of the most informative indicators of economic uncertainty on carbon emission price volatility. We use one- and two-component GARCH-MIDAS models based on mixed frequency data and Model Confidence Set (MCS) testing with 'rolling scheme' forecast method to examine the forecasting performance of economic uncertainty indicators. We employ an economic policy uncertainty (EPU) indicator with China, US and global economic policy uncertainty constituents together with traditional uncertainty indicators, such as macroeconomic and financial market volatility. Our empirical findings show that generally economic policy uncertainty indicators contain more information of carbon emission price volatility than other indicators. Specifically, one-component GARCH-MIDAS model with the EPU indicator with China constituent and two-component model with EPU indicator have superior performance in forecasting carbon emission price volatility of the Guangdong pilot in China. The urgency of addressing climate change and reducing carbon emissions necessitates the establishment of effective carbon markets. Our paper focuses on assessing and interpreting the efficiency of carbon markets, which is a crucial aspect of their successful implementation. We selected Hubei, Shenzhen, and Guangdong carbon pilots as examples to measure their dynamic information efficiency by combining the rolling time window and wild-bootstrap variance ratio test. Furthermore, we combined SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) and Extra Trees (ET) regressor to reveal the nonlinear relationship between market performance and efficiency. Our findings highlight the time-varying nature of carbon market efficiency and reveal that China's carbon market has not yet achieved stable weak-form efficiency. Additionally, we identified excessive trading volume volatility as a significant constraint on market efficiency, while the trading volume itself exhibits weak explanatory power. Our proposed hybrid model demonstrates superior predictive and explanatory capabilities, offering regulators a valuable tool for continuously monitoring and interpreting carbon market efficiency. Automatic speech recognition (ASR) has been widely used in the field of customer service, but the performance of general ASR in dialect transcription is not satisfactory, especially in Guangdong Province. Targeted training of ASR transcription engine will produce effect, but the training cost is high, and it is not suitable for small‐scale training with multiple dialects and frequencies. The complaint problems in the customer service field have obvious clustering and are suitable for few‐shot and multi‐frequency training. In view of this, in the actual engineering application, the method of ASR transcribed into the dialect error correction thesaurus is tried to be used to replace the wrong words, and have achieved good results. The optimization technology after automatic speech transcription proposed in this study can improve the recognition accuracy of general ASR by 13.75% for dialect words. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: This paper aims to summarize the conditions under which participatory art museums and local commercial traditions can have positive and sustained interactions. Design/methodology/approach: The methods include studying the quantity and content of exhibitions in the four cities of the Bay Area, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Shunde, to compare their academic positioning and influence on local commercial production. Through interviewing curators, artists and university scholars who are active in the Bay Area and are invited by the museums on a regular basis, it will let us understand the attitudes from the government, public and capital towards the regional art museums and how these attitudes influence the choice of theme in the participatory art museum practice. Findings: To summarize the findings, the author concludes that a participatory art gallery with commercial production in the Bay Area requires the following: a long tradition of local business and wealth accumulation; a local area is of a size where the community of acquaintances can interact on a regular basis; continued interest of a diverse local elite, including a mix of businessmen and gentry, government officials and various sectors of the public; and museums serving as intermediaries to coordinate the effective integration of the commercial and traditional resources. Originality/value: Participatory approaches and their impacts are a shared area of interest across urban planning, heritage studies and the creative arts. Crucially, solely relying on either the Latin bottom-up community-oriented approach (Barnes, 2003) or the British top-down policy-oriented approach (Heijnen, 2010) did not maximize benefits, though these distinctive two approaches were convinced that museums should play a larger role in becoming agents of contemporary social change. By contrast, in focusing on Chinese Art Museums, this study will explore participatory practice in the Asian context. In doing so, it will not only diversify the emerging literature on the social and economic impacts of arts and heritage organizations but also challenge the Western lens through which participatory approaches are viewed in the interdisciplinary literature.
